Meh. It's a drug store chain. Either here or at CVS you will find similarly long lines, and no way of talking to a human in less than an hour if you have to contact them over the phone. The pharmacy techs are doing their best under very short staffed conditions. I find that if I am polite and patient, I get the same in return. It's not like they have any competition, since the duopoly of pharmacy chains means that staffing at the retail pharmacy is sacrificed to the god of corporate profits. Gasp! It's almost as if... consolidation in the industry has been bad for consumers! Who on Earth could have predicted that? Not me, certainly! The worst passport photo I ever had. The young guy was so cold in his demeanor that I felt depressed and my photo came out as such. He threw away about 6 photos before I chose what I thought was a kind-of ok one. I couldn't tell under the store lights that the photo was fuzzy. It's 5:00am, you can't sleep because you are almost out of your refills. Don't go here if you don't want to be in my shoes. It's been days and I was told prescription will be available. Still no update on refill. Waited 1.5 hours on phone and then eventually got hung-up on. They almost NEVER answer their phone 99.99% of the time. Worst is the .001% they answer the phone and give you false hope that the prescription will be ready and you trust them. I called another pharmacy to transfer the prescription and guess what they said... "call your doctor's office to send prescription to us, we are not calling Walgreens since they never answer the phone". And now the strike... This will be my best advice to you here, don't use this place as your pharmacy. Getting a prescription shouldn't be this hard. Oh my god I think I literally just met a psycho. I thought he was going to stab me. This poor older dad was just trying to get medication for his daughter, and the pharmacist opened the cap of medicine with his hands which bothered the customer for sanitary reasons. Instead of explaining himself, the pharmacist THREW FUCKING SYRINGES at the customer, started SCREAMING "fuck you man I didn't fucking touch the cap" he was so mean. Started juggling this like knife thing in his hand, then it was my turn in line and he goes "WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR COME ON". No like guys all those pharmacists are so mean. I get people have bad days at work, but that man was a psycho path and the manager and coworkers were so rude. Never ever pick up medicine from that guy. read more

Legendarily horrible pharmacy service. I wanted to call to see if they had my prescription available. Ended up being on hold for 2 hours only to have the lady answer ask if I can hold for longer. I foolishly agreed. They hung up after an additional 10 minutes of holding (2 hours and 10 minutes total). When arriving, I see a line of disgruntled people waiting for their prescriptions while the entire pharmacy is giggling and nobody is at the front helping people. They didn't even have my prescription ready. Unfortunately, this is the only compounding pharmacy with my medication in the area. The wellbeing of sick and dying people are in these amateurs' hands. I do not recommend sending off any disposable camera here to have developed. I was told it would be done in 1-2 weeks, it is now going on 6-7 weeks without any answers to how/when or why they are not getting their shipment back from the company. I realize it's the holidays and things take a little extra time. Truly is ridiculous at this point. No one can help me or give me an answer or time frame. I feel like our pharmacy's don't get thanked enough. Always have a positive attitude even though there are rude customers . We have good days and bad days when picking up prescriptions (running late, irritated, urgently needing medication) but know that they are always running around and making sure every customer gets attended. They are human being like us (customers) if your having a bad day don't make it harder for your surroundings. Treat other like how you would want to be treated. If you want to go to a pharmacy in which the pharmacy technicians are liars, come here. I've gone to Walgreens since I was a child. I am loyal to brands. When I first moved here, this was the first place I thought of to get my prescriptions. Months ago, I noticed that things were just taking longer. Okay, no worries, going through a reorg. I can handle that. I empathize, but two months ago, I got the worst technician at the pharmacy who showed absolutely no care or regret for the wait of my son's medication. I reported her. I unfortunately got her a second time, same thing. It got to the point that I told her that I'd reported her to a shift manager after our first encounter and with this second encounter, I was going to report her again. She the proceeded to tell the others in the pharmacy that I'd threatened to punch her. Yup, liar. And she did this because I said to her face that I'd reported her and would again. I'm sure she left this detail out when she told her pharmacy coworkers that I'd threatened to punch her, because it is a motivation for her lying. Thank goodness the shift manager below was able to verify my story and knew which shift managers I spoke with after the second encounter. So I ended up going to a shift manager and Heidi the store manager and told them the whole tale. Heidi looked at me sheepishly when I got my final prescription from her and said that she couldn't believe it had gotten this way. I cryptically smiled at her and thought, I feel sorry for you, Heidi, because you're the one who has to clean up this mess of a pharmacy. Not everyone in the pharmacy is horrible. There's a great technician in the morning who's female, in her 30s or 40s, and has shoulder-length brown hair. She's excellent. And the pharmacy manager was pretty good until she believed the liar. Oh, and the name of the technician who's horrible and lies? Addie. She seems to only work in the evenings so make sure to avoid her specifically. No sympathy, very monotone, and couldn't be kind if her life depended on it. Even the store shift managers could see that about her, according to one of them. By contrast, I moved to a different pharmacy. I had a doctor's appointment yesterday afternoon. By today at 1130am, I was able to pick up two prescriptions. No wait, very nice people, and only about a mile away from this horrible Walgreens. I should also say that I've had much better service at the 30th Street location and the one on Main Street in Longmont. I'm very much pro Walgreens, just not this one. read more

The only reason I give this or any Walgreens I've been to in the recent past 2 stars is because the people that work at the pharmacy are patient, respectful, and do their job very well for the tools that are given to them. That said, there is clearly an upper/corporate management shortcoming because (no matter if you wait in the line inside, roll through the drive through, or call them up) you're looking at a minimum 30 min wait. I called the Walgreens pharmacy on 02/13/2025 at approximately 7:50 pm. I was on hold for over 50 minutes. I used my other phone to call a manager on duty. After 10 minutes an employee, who identified himself as a supervisor. His name was Caleb and he told me he was just helping out at the store. I told him I had been waiting on hold with the pharmacy for over 50 minutes. Caleb, could hear the walgreens recording as I had it on speaker. He said he would go check to see why it was taking so long and he put me on hold. A few minutes later he came back and told me the pharmacy was not busy and they told him the phone hadn't rung. No one was on hold. Caleb said my other phone must be lying to me. What? Okay so I asked him if he would transfer me to the pharmacy from his phone. He did, I waited another 10 minutes and surprise surprise, the phone that was "lying" not the supervisor transferred phone but the phone I had been waiting on for over 50 minutes for someone in the pharmacy to pick up​....well a man named Vincent pick up and said hello and finally helped me. He told me they were very busy. Needless to say, I will not be back. read more

Kept me on hold for now 51 minutes with a recording repeating every 22 seconds (because I timed it): "we're sorry to keep you waiting. Our staffers are assisting other customers. Absurdly Unprofessional Pharmacy. I've relocated and had to transfer a prescription to another pharmacy. Waited on hold 1 hour and 28 minutes to talk to a pharmacist (Gabby) who refused to do it and said I had to have the new pharmacist call. When he did, he was on hold for 2 hours before being disconnected. Gabby, that's 3.5 HOURS cumulative on hold to accomplish NOTHING. Did you learn that in Pharmacy School???? After this did you move onto screwing others? Or, did you feel fulfilled and that your work for the day was complete???? Walgreens has been my pharmacy of choice for years. The customer service can vary, especially now since the pandemic there's been shortages of supplies and employees and technicians which requires people to be more patient and kinder to one another. We have a shortage of pharmacists here in CA. which is very frustrating when you need your prescription. I tend to empathize with the employees who have to listen to unreasonable customers rant and rave about these shortages. These poor associates get bad mouthed all the time for reasons they have no control over. There's no reason to raise your voice or get confrontational. Act respectfully. I'm just happy to see them show up to work and help me when they can. This isn't the place to rant about a person's speech style. They can be disabled. Harassment and hate speech are inappropriate. Don't displace anger. In these crazy times don't post people's names and potentially make them a target for a hate crime by someone who is disgruntled. Walgreens is a good place, but like other businesses is operating under challenging conditions. read more

The customer service is unprofessional, expect a guilt trip & full on interrogation to pick up your prescriptions that are prescribed by medical professionals. My husband is a disabled wartime veteran and the experiences he's had to endure are definitely a violation of his medical privacy. Consistently the absolute worst pharmacy in Boulder - no exaggeration. Try calling them - they never pick up the phone. Just this week I spent hours on hold trying to make sure they got my prescription correct, which without fail they mess up every time. And sure enough, it happened again. What makes it infuriating is that they just don't care. The bubble-gum chewing women didn't apologize and instead tried to tell me my prescription was expired which it wasn't. I called today and just wanted to see how long it would take for them to answer the phone. 2 hours 22 Mins. on hold, they finally pick up and they immediately hung up. I spent over an hour in the drive up and the young lady working says we will fill the prescription now if you can wait. 20 mins later she rudely and abruptly says they are out of stock and walks away from the window. I waited 10 more mins to see when I should come back but she avoided me so I left. I witnessed at least 10-12 customers shake their heads and leave frustrated In the hour or more I waited in the drive-thru line. I will NEVER AGAIN waste time dealing with Walgreens in Boulder on 28th St. off Valmont Road. BTW this is the first Review I have ever left for a business. I've never been yelled by a pharmacy technician EVER ANYWHERE. They keep asking me for my address, I am telling them to stop sending junk mail, and I bring my PASSPORT every single time and they are becoming more and more rude the little round lady was getting all red yelling at me that I need to verify the address, while I was showing her my PASSPORT. Then the manager Susi came who said that she "didn't care about my problems" and that " there are hundreds of pharmacies out there" and she is not gonna give me my medication until I guess the fake address I had to set up to stop Walgreens from selling my information and sending me junk mail. read more

They told me they should know by the time the store closed that night, and they might have it for me the next day. Horrific service at this store has gotten worse since they closed their Iris pharmacy. Spent over an hour on the phone, waiting only to be disconnected as I reached next person in line status. PS - closed pharmacy still has a system that tells you there are callers in front of you, so call the old, closed pharmacy you still wait. They don't tell you the pharmacy is closed. They told us all our prescriptions would be transferred, that is only true of certain prescriptions and they don't tell you which!!! My dr tried to recall these prescriptions and send them to Safeway but Walgreens held on to both, placing one in limbo hell I was yelled at when I complained about this, after being told to my face, that they don't prioritize callers, so wait for hours and hours hoping you get through and they'll hang up on you for the person who just walked up to the counter and that is a feature not a bug, cause people there matter more. OR drive 20 minutes each direction, wasting gas trips and time. They will tell you to your face that your call is not important to them, that in person customers get priority. When you complain about ANY of this the supervisor, Brenda, will tell you off in front of a crowd, for being upset and conplaining to her techs - that doesn't help anyone. Well you dont help anyone so fair deal!!! Walgreens closed one of their better pharmacies to send more customers to a location that was already to busy!!! Screwed customers over while doing so and they literally tell you they dont care, you don't matter, shut up and appreciate that they deign to do anything for you!!! They had at least 8 people working, Safeway with 2 staff workiny called me back about a script I called about yesterday and when we got disconnected, they called me back again I'll take Safeway anyday!!!! Been here a few times, most recently went in for a walk in flu shot (which their website clearly states is allowed/encouraged) and the pharmacy tech said I needed an appointment and was not tactful about communicating that. I asked if he would make me an appointment and he said no I had to make a Walgreens account and do it that way. Overall negative interaction- he was very bothered. Two stars. The staff can't help their workload and is doing a 4 star job, the company is doing a 1 star job with headcount this location. The company clearly hasn't given the pharmacy extra hands (and likely isn't paying enough to make it worth it to work there). Aside from the Safeway this is now the only pharmacy in Boulder north of Balsam so it's always going to be CRAZY busy. Search for "pharmacy" on Google maps and you'll have perspective. Just take your business elsewhere, the 30 min working with your doctor to change where you pickup your meds is worth the hours of time you'll save by not using this location. I received multiple texts alerting me my prescription was ready, went to pick up at 8:30pm, waited in line for 30 minutes at which time the pharmacy tech told me she couldn't find my prescription because it was lost and to come back later because they had to close. No effort to find it, just sorry we know it should be here but we can't find it so too bad. Came back the next day, waited another 45 minutes and was only given a portion of my three month prescription because they couldn't find the full thing. But don't worry they're ordering it so I can come back AGAIN and waste more hours of my life in Walgreens. Literally the worst pharmacy experience I've ever had. Two days in a row so clearly it's not a one-off. Called to speak to a manager but as expected sat on hold for an hour then had to disconnect.
