It's much more than just a normal convenience store. Hot food is outstanding for an in-store deli and I understand there's a reputation for that at this location. I have only had one cold sandwich and it was great as well. Beer and coffee selection is mind-blowing for a small town convenience store! Something for everyone. I'm not a beer or coffee snob but I really appreciate a wide selection. Most of all, I must say the employees are all very nice and will go out of their way for you. I can't count the number of times they have made my day. It seems they are always working very hard and asking what customers need-- I had a lady offer to make me whatever I wanted at the deli, where I had thought the only choices were premise.

Some of the highlights: -Their finest culinary specimen was the Italian Supreme, a gas station sandwich so full of personality that our college suite created a Facebook profile for it which had more friends than any of us (that may not be saying a lot). You could literally smell the pickled onion on your sweat the next day after eating one of these bad boys. Ladies beware. -They stayed open real late and opened early, so even when their beer cooler locked up at midnight (blue laws), you could always wait it out till 6 the next morning. Well worth the wait, since you would also arrive in time to indulge in a McDonald's McGriddle next door. [The McGriddle is a breakfast sandwich where the 'bread' is composed of pancakes, literally injected with synthesized butter and maple syrup.] -Trips to this place among people I knew resulted in at least one DUI, my car transmission almost being destroyed when Kevin threw my car into reverse along Rt. 7, and Ethan getting banned for trying to start a fistfight there, then re-banned and almost arrested for showing up again...or so the story goes. Then stop at Maplefields, yeah the prices are the same as every other gas station in town but the restrooms are clean, they have spacious seating, free Wi-Fi and an in store Amato's for food. You also have access at a small fee these days to showers if you are on a long haul trucking assignment. As gas stations go this is a very very nice one.

It is WAY more than just a convenience store, although it is that, as well They have the best beer selection around--an entire walk in cooler with a broad selection of beers from all over. Wowser! Their deli has great food either cooked to order or serve-yourself hot dishes like chili and Mac and Cheese. After hours for the deli, you can still get a nice set of selections, including my favorite--their deviled eggs. And pretty soon, the serve-yourself creemee machines will be up and running for the season. Did I mention their specials? Including the annual lobster boil? Oh, and they were the first gas station in the Valley to offer ethanol-free gas. Plus, they give back a percentage of gas sales to a local charity each month. The VG is truly a gem! This place could be a showcase of so many valley products, but I guess this is what you get with commoditized convenience stores focusing on selling scratch tickets, cigarettes and gas. Bathrooms are indoors, and clean, and easily accessible. But they also have a great selection of snacks and drinks, including local/organic favorites, and even a good beer/wine selection. But really, I am just grateful for the bathrooms, and I will definitely be back!
