They take forever to fill prescriptions and they will tell you blatant lies about when it will be done. Definitely need more staff. Expect to wait 6 hours or more to get your prescription. Even when you enquirer as to when it will be ready they will just lie and thrill you an hour but when you go to pick it up it is another hour. When you return you will be told another hour and it will be ready. I did this three times before it was really ready. It really was 6 hours. read more

I rarely take the time to post about my experience on Yelp but this last experience at Walgreens on East Ave was so uncalled for. This is possibly the worst location I've had to deal with. Worst pharmacy experience ever, and not from one visit experience. They never check their messages and drs can leave as many messages as they wish the answer will always be the same "we didn't receive it" as if a dr will go through the automated answer and leave message using the wrong phone number. I was in unbelievable pain after a mouth surgery and in great need for my prescription and they insisted they didn't receive the order. I had to call my dr and have him recall the prescription. I ended up pulling it to another pharmacy. Just do yourself a favor and use cvs across the street. read more

Store #13000 in Chico, CA is a joke. I called your store twice to see if flu shots are administered for kids. Each time, the representative asked the ages, & I advised my children are ages 4 & 6. The first representative I spoke to was on 11/30 at 10:55am. The male I spoke with seemed unsure, & put me on hold. He came back & confirmed yes, as long as the child is over 6 months old. A few days passed, & I was not very confident in his answer, so I called again on 12/3 at 4:43pm just to confirm your pharmacy could indeed do flu shots for my children. The woman I spoke to confirmed their ages & again advised yes, I could bring them in for shots. I was glad I wouldn't have to try to make arrangements with the busy pediatrician. I brought my kids in the store today & waited for nearly 30 minutes. Your pharmacy staff hardly seemed to notice the growing line, given by their lack of urgency. I managed to entertain the young ones until we made our way up to the counter. I was then told that no, it is against company policy to give flu shots to children under the age of 7. When I advised I was told you did on the phone, I was interrogated for the person's name. I didn't realize I had to document proof of my interaction for something that was confirmed by 2 of your representatives. Now I know better... I will hereby document my interactions with Walgreens, just in case. But, it does beg the question: Why was I told by not one, but TWO representatives that is okay to do so? I feel incredibly frustrated that I wasted so much time. Sure, money wasn't lost, however time is incredibly valuable when you work full time & have 2 small children. Thank you, Walgreens, for wasting my evening. The service at this pharmacy is the worst I have ever experienced. I am not criticizing the staff as much as the shortage of manpower. I was notified yesterday that my RX was ready to be picked up. I waited 1/2 hour at the drive-up and there was only one car in front of me. When I commented on the wait the answer I got was that everybody chose to use the drive up today. Did I mention there was only "one" car in front of me. I chose my medicare RX plan around Walgreens and the service I had experienced at the Yuba City store on Lincoln. I find this pharmacy and the employees to be exceptional. They are knowledgeable and helpful.

I've been going here for a few years because of the convenience but that's done now. The pharmacy here is repeatedly slow and unreliable. Numerous times I've received messages that my prescription is ready only to wait in line to be told that I'll have to wait at least half an hour until it's filled. They're either perennially understaffed or under trained and never seem to want to be courteous or apologetic about their service. The store itself seems to be the same story and the grounds always have homeless people panhandling on your way in. Go somewhere else. read more

I went back three different times to pick up the same prescription. Each time I went they assured me it would be ready in 20 minutes and yet the third time after waiting at the window for a solid 15 minutes the clerk said they did not have the medicine and would have it in two days time. This is literally the worst pharmacy in Chico. It's unfortunate they are the only 24 hour pharmacy. They are constantly at least an hour behind what they say and always understaffed. Don't think that just because there is a line they are going to go any faster. There can be a huge line and all of a sudden you see three people leaving for whatever and not coming back in the time you are in line. They are rude and very unprofessional. read more

I recently moved to Chico from the Bay Area for work. I stayed at a location nearby this Walgreens at 860 East Ave, in Chico CA. It was an unusual week that I had with intense seasonal allergies which triggered asthma symptoms. On Friday (April 6th 2018) around 1:30am I woke up gasping for air as I was experiencing a severe asthma attack and I was at the point of panic. Just short of calling 911, I made a quick search for 24 hr pharmacies, as I was looking to go get help with and asthma inhaler of any kind available. Seemed everything was closed - except for this Walgreens Pharmacy a few blocks away. I immediately called the store to see if it really was open, and I got a Pharmacist by the name of Jim McFadden on the phone. Short of breath, I explained to him that I was having an asthma attack and that I needed to refill an asthma inhaler. He informed me that he would help me if I could come in right away - apparently I had called him just minutes before his break. I arrived there minutes later as he waited for me as promised, and he promptly filled my prescription and even offered to show me how to prime the inhaler. I told him that I already knew, and I couldn't thank him enough. Its times like these that I wished more businesses had dependable people like him. I am truly grateful for your help Jim. Thank you! If I could give them negative points i would. I tried to fill a that keeps me alive. No it is not a narcotic. They desided that it was written incorrectly and that i was wrong on how to fill it. I had the specific directions from the company and specific directions from the fda on what to do and they did not want to lissen to me. They were filling it incorrect exactly as the manufacturer said not to. It took me 4 visits to them and 3 phone calls to get it halfway correct so that i would not need to jave a er visit. It is just stupid you csn not abuse this med. I will not be going their any more. I hope that no one has any more problems with this store and get injured from it. read more

I pop into this store frequently and love the convenience of it being open 24 hours. I recently downloaded the photo app to get photos printed for Christmas gifts. The app is quick and very easy to use and I was notified within the hour that my photos were ready! This was awesome! I was so disappointed when I picked up the pictures the next morning. The quality is horrible and out of the 8 or 9 I had printed, I am only using two and one of those is so bad I will need to let my gift recipient know that I plan to get it reprinted elsewhere. read more

This review is for the pharmacy. I was in there on Sunday September 6th. I picked up a prespcription for my boyfriend. When i got home my boyfriend told me that the number of pills was incorrect. I called the phamacy as soon as we noticed the count was wrong and as i explained the problem to the pharmacy manager (TALLER OLDER MAN) he interrupted me and told me in a rude voice "you need to take it up with the person who prescribed not me" I continued to explain to him why I thought the pill count was wrong and he again interrupted me very rudely telling me in a very rude voice that it is only a 20 day supply. Why he couldnt tell me that from the beginning i do not know. I have never been spoken so rudely to in my life. Also note he never even let me tell him who the patient was before he started to rudely interrupt and talk down to me i then call corporate and leave a message and get no return phone call. I find this very rude customer service. Especially coming from a pharmacist who stated he was the pharmacy manager and there was nobody else i could speak to. I will never shop at walgreens ever again. read more

The fact that my friend got her medication was amazing. She's too old to use Yelp or anything of the sort, but I feel like I need to post for her as she told me of her woe there last night. After 8 hours at Enloe for her mother with Alzheimer's, she needed a prescription filled and came in. Employees behind the counter of the pharmacy messing around, not helping anyone (if you're not on the clock then get out of the area, if you are then do your job). Anyway, she waited an hour and a half for Meds for her mom and endured the unprofessional, unthoughtful, un-empathetic actions of multiple employees working in the pharmacy both while waiting to hand in her prescription and while waiting for it to be filled. I get that some employees aren't authorized to do certain things, but if your clientele is people needing medicine and clearly not wanting to be there longer than need be, don't be oblivious to that, I guess is the point. At least pretend like you care. That goes a lot further than assuring them that you don't. read more

I've found these pharmacist (at this specific location) to be some of the RUDEST most CONDESCENDING people on earth. Not only did I sit in my car for literally a whole 20 minutes without being acknowledged (I was the ONLY car in the drive thru) the tech who assisted me only paid attention to me for a total of 5 seconds, completely disregarded how long I had been waiting, and basically refused to answer my two simple questions- when will they be ready and how much will it cost. She said it'll take about an hour and a half and couldn't tell me how much it'll cost, then proceeded to totally hangup the two-way phone on me. I drive home and wait about 3 hours before I call to see if they're ready, and the tech on the phone tells me it'll be at least another hour. I said "You guys must be slammed, the other lady said they would be ready a long time ago." To which the guy replies with "We're working as fast as we can ma'am, there's about 40 scrips infront of yours so sorry if they weren't at the top of my to-do list." I didn't even know what to say!! Like obviously I don't expect them to drop what their doing just to service me but as someone who works in customer service the first thing they teach you is always make it easy to be a customer! All he had to say was they were busy today and I would've totally understood, and this isn't even the first time I've had them speak abrasively or talk down to me. The last 4 times I have been to this Walgreen's they have been rude, unprofessional and very unorganized. The Pharmacist in charge is the worst of the worst. I cant believe they have not revoked his license. The last time I picked up a prescription, they had it completely wrong! If I didn't catch it, they could have killed me. It is very dangerous to do businesses with them...you could be playing with your life. Dont take my word for it...The CA Board of Pharmacy has numerous complaints against them. The Walgreen's on Nord Ave has always been courteous, helpful and professional...I will drive all the way across town from now on. Be very cautious when using the East ave location. read more

It is so hard to find polite, trainable, courteous employees. Case in point. I went into East Ave. Walgreens today to grab a couple of items. I approached the only open cash register, only to be ignored by the clerk for over a minute while she finished her "what I did last night" conversation with another employee. At no point did she even have the courtesy to acknowledge me as a person and customer. So, so unacceptable. As I do not shop there often, I do not have a "rewards card" which u apparently need to get "sale prices" All stores who use this rewards system, generally offer a "courtesy" to customers who are not members and ask for the sale price. When I ask, the clerk made some snippy little comment and said Walgreens did not offer this courtesy. Congratulations Walgreens, u just lost a customer for life thanks to ur useless, poorly trained, rude employee. read more

2 years dealing with this stupid place! I have no less than 4 clients,at any given time, that I pick up prescriptions for, HERE, many times each week :/ .. What happened tonight at 9:30, at this East Ave Walgreens IDIOT FEST, is basically the same thing that goes on almost every time. It's become a waste of my client's time. My client called them twice today. Walgreens had her prescription for 3 days already, and apparently ONLY found out, when we got to the window, after 40 minutes of waiting IN LINE AGAIN!, that the insurance will only cover 30 days worth, not 90 days, WHICH is how many pills they put in the bottles.. So, I said "fine, we'll just wait the 5 minutes here in the car".. THIS after sitting behind one car at the window for seemingly 20 minutes and 3 cars behind THAT one, going there this morning and calling them twice!. about 30 seconds after I drove up to the line at 9:30 pm, the cars in front of me were honking their horns, so who knows how long they'd been there?.. With one of my clients in the car, who was supposed to have taken her HEART medicine an hour before this fiasco.. and after waiting 40 minutes, YET AGAIN, I was asked to drive around and wait in line AGAIN behind the cars that were already piled up behind me again, so they could fix their mistake! This has happened countless times in the last two years.. I WAIT behind people at the window anywhere from 15 to 40 minutes, RIDICULOUS, with cars behind them, then when I finally get to the window they ask ME to drive around because they don't want to keep the cars behind 'ME' WAITING, because THEY have done something WRONG, AGAIN! So, because she needed her heart medication, we said "no, we've already waited 40 minutes after calling twice today, and there are cars behind me, so you want me to wait ANOTHER 30 or 40 minutes behind those cars, because you waited until we got here to find out YOU DID IT WRONG?, no we'll wait for a few minutes, she needs her heart medication an hour ago" the young man employee evidently talked to the woman with the greased back blondish red hair, because she came to the window asking if we could drive back around, AND WAIT AGAIN, my client who was in the car told her "this is ridiculous, I've been calling since this morning. You sent me a text 3 days ago saying you had the prescription. We've waited 40 minutes in this car, and you want us to drive around behind these cars behind us and wait another 30 minutes? This is complete incompetence..". And I agreed! Then Colin, the pharmacist, comes to the window yelling LOUDLY and throwing his arms up in the air, clearly ANGRY with 'US', SCREAMING "If you don't drive around the building and wait, I'm just not going to give you your prescription!! I JUST WON'T GIVE IT TO YOU AT ALL!!!" Over and OVER YELLING. We both agreed that we were NEVER going back to that store.. and left there.. She was going to take her chances with no heart medication or blood pressure meds, and get her prescription somewhere else in town tomorrow.. UNTIL she realized, once we got back to her house, and thoroughly upset, that they made us drive away, without giving us her drivers license or medical cards back, or the prescription for my other client, that they showed me at the window but never gave me... :/ SO, we had to go back.. They tried to act like we should be thankful that they had the prescription ready FINALLY, at 10:30 at night.. After she got out of the car banged on the window, that "you incompetents have my driver's license and medical card, and I want it back NOW!".. They gave us the prescriptions for her, and my other client.. As the result of that horrendous behavior of their whacked out pharmacist, who acted like HE wasn't having any problems getting his drugs!!! she, my mother, my other client, who has been a customer of theirs for about 30 years, are all moving their prescriptions to ANYWHERE else!! and I informed them that I was telling this story, since it is long overdue, and they have truly flipped their lids, screaming at us, after waiting 40 minutes, and it was ALL DUE TO THEIR incompetence!!! I am a care giver and they stand to lose quite a lot of business at that store, because along with myself, all of my other clients, and my mother, will no longer go to that store for any reason... They are all in agreement with that.. I'm only glad that one good thing came out of this, that because we HAD TO GO BACK, AND GET HER ID, AND med card.. She at least did FINALLY get her HEART MEDICATION she actually needed an hour and a half before that... DONE with Walgreens! read more
