I am truly shocked by the lack of customer service and care that I received at this Walgreens location. It is the start of 2019 and some new narcotic medication laws have gone into effect. Unfortunately for me, I had to have an emergency medical procedure and my doctor prescribed 5/325 of Norco for pain. I don't have a history of narcotic use and this prescription was for 12 pills. My husband took in the script along with my ID and insurance card. The pharmacist explained they needed to call the doctor to verify the prescription under the new law and they would update me and fill it if they had it in stock. A couple of hours later I received an automated call stating there was a problem processing insurance and so it could not be filled, and if i had questions I could call (strike one, why isn't there an option to press some # to talk to someone? Why do I have to call back and wait in a long cue?). I immediately called them, thinking perhaps they're using an old insurance card by accident. Over 20 minutes of hold time later they finally get to me (perhaps just a busy time of day, frustrating but I don't fault them on the wait time) and the associate tells me we no longer accept your insurance. What?! Why did it take them hours to tell me this and why didn't they tell my husband this when he provided the insurance card? She simply says we didn't know then but you're welcome to come pick up your script and take it somewhere else. By this time, its 5:30pm. For one, I am not well I'm home in pain post medical procedure. For two, I know that taking it anywhere else means the next pharmacy will have to call the doctor to verify the prescription and the doctors office closed at 5. In pain and eager for relief I try to troubleshoot and ask her how much to just pay out of pocket? After all this is a fairly common place medication and I only needed 12 pills so I assumed it couldn't be too expensive and at this point I'm desperate for some relief. So she puts me on a short hold then comes back and tells me that actually she couldn't fill it at all because the law has changed additionally such that the doctor's prescription pad must contain a serial number in the corner. What the what?! I asked her, didn't you verify the drug choice and prescription with the doctors office before they closed? She said yes but the law changed and it needs the serial #. She then proceeds to put me on hold again. Upon returning to the phone she informs me that the pharmacist contacted the doctor and suggested they change the med to Tylenol 3. The pharmacy staff went ahead and rewrote this on the script themselves. I suppose I can give them a smidgen of credit in that I guess they were trying to help in some way, but I didn't ask them to try to switch the drug, I cannot take codeine which is what Tylenol 3 is comprised of, and they still weren't taking my insurance so all they did is make a mess of my script that I assumed was now rendered useless. The main reason for the one star is that, come to find out from both my doctors office and CVS, the new law regarding the serial number on the script has a grace period for enforcement. The pharmacy has until June 2019 to follow the new regulations. Walgreens chose to enforce the law immediately even though the pharmacist personally verified the prescription with my doctor to ensure it's legitimacy and we're talking about a very small number of pills at a low dose and no refills. The intent of the new law is to stop people from falsifying prescriptions for opiate drugs. Walgreens had plenty of proof that I was not doing anything fraudulent and that I had a painful medical procedure so the only thing they ensured was the loss of a customer! Despite the seemingly ruined script that they altered to Tylenol 3 as a replacement medication, I explained the circumstances to CVS on Magnolia/Rimpau and they were happy to help me out. I understood they would still need to call the doctors office to verify the prescription before they could fill it, and unfortunately by the time they got the script the doctors office was closed for the day, but they took care of me and even thanked me for my patience! It sucked that I had to endure so much pain the day of procedure without anything more than some advil and a heating pad but at least CVS showed me compassion and good customer service and gave me a thorough explanation of the new laws and why the changes have been made. Walgreens on the other hand clearly isn't as committed to patient care and all of the hoops could have been avoided had they told my husband right away that they no longer accept our insurance. I'm not too sure if messages are ever checked. I misplaced my prescription number and decided to leave a message. No one ever returned my call. Called and waited to speak to someone only to be on hold for over 45 min and was then disconnected. Called back another day only to once again hold for over 50 minutes. We were in a path to transfer all of our prescriptions to this Walgreens but the clerk was rude, short, asked the name of doctors even tho we already have the information to them, instructed me to figure out all of the doctors' fax numbers cause she was too busy. She then hung up on me while I was in the phone trying to answer her questions. Customer service here all three times we've tried has been horrid. read more

This Walgreen's is average as far as stocking of items and prices are concerned. I think Walgreen's in general is a bit pricey on things like office supplies so I never go here unless i don't have the time to drive out to Target. I saw some of the other reviewers' comments and I have to agree...there are several employees whose job is to greet customers and check them out at the register...and they are terribly rude and short with everyone. As if we're inconveniencing them somehow by walking in to their store. How dare we, right? Anyways...I go to the one on the corner of Lincoln and 6th street instead because the staff there is so much nicer. read more

TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!! One of our employees went to your Walgreens to purchase gift cards for the other employee's incentive program. We have bought gift cards at multiple Walgreens including this location with a credit card. Today, he was told he could not. So he called our office to let us know he would have to go to another store and I proceeded to call the Walgreens to ask if this was a new policy. And to my surpise (sarcastic) every single option on the automated system hung up on me. So I can't complain, ask questions, check on my prescription or anything else! This is ridiculous! At the end of the transaction it took the pharmacy 45 minutes to hand over a prescription that was filled 6 hours earlier in the day! Bad organization, bad management. The only thing was the manager kept apologizing. 3 customers left before they got their prescription because of the wait time; the car line waiting for prescription was 5 cars deep by the time I left. read more

They can never put in my information correctly, so when it's time to pick up my prescription, they didn't put in the right "number" so now have to wait another half hour. Horrible pharmacy service!!! Told my prescriptions would be ready in two hours at 915pm so my sick husband and I (who was also very sick) had to stay up to get them! I return at 1115pm and wait in the drive through for 5 minutes before even being helped and then was asked if I could come back early morning! This Walgreens is awful. The wait time is horrendous. I waited for 20 minutes in the drive thru line yesterday (and there was only ONE car ahead of me). When I finally got up to the window the pharmacist had such a thick accent I couldn't understand a word she said. One time the drive thru line was long so I parked and went inside only to find a line of 8 people waiting. They need to hire more staff! The only reason we deal with it is because it's close to our house and it's a 24 hour pharmacy which is good for emergencies, but we are actively looking for a new place to go. I dread going to this pharmacy every month. My daughters prescription is mainstream and they have only had it twice in stock in the past 12 months. I went today to get her prescription filled and was told they do not have it. I asked if it is on order or can they order it and was told to come back on Friday. They could not answer my questions and asked that I come back several days later for a prescription that was needed now. I then asked them to contact the Limonite store to see if they had it and a very rude worker jumped in and told me they do not provide this level of service. To their credit, the times when they did not have it they found it at another store. To be told that they no longer provide this service was a head scratcher. On top of this I was told they do not carry the needed prescription as it is a controlled prescription. It is a pharmacy, aren't all of the medications they administer controlled????? . Either the staff does not know what they are doing, e.g., stating they could not fill a prescription based on generics when my insurance clearly states they will only pay for name brand or they are not prepared to fill mainstream prescriptions. I truly feel sorry of the people without transportation as they can not drive 20 minutes away from their home location for a simple prescription.. The lack of inventory, long lines and rude staff is enough for a review of this location by the corporate office. If I could give a negative star I would, instead they get a F-. Hopefully someone will look in to the many negative reviews and make the necessary changes. read more

Here I am in a drive-through pharmacy. There were only four cars in front of me waiting to pick up a prescription, when I first pulled up. I've been sitting here for 30 minutes and there is still one car in front of me. How hard is it? People come here because their prescription is ready, so give them the employee info and/or whatever they need, give the customer the prescription in exchange for the money and that's it! if their prescription is not ready, tell the customer to leave and come back in 15 minutes when it is ready! I have been too many other pharmacies in Corona and this is by far the worst! They never have enough people working there. It is always busy. I had to go 3 times for the same prescription. If you order your prescription by their website it does not coincide with the store. Their emails and texts to let you know that the prescription is ready is incorrect. When I transferred from another Pharmacy and called to verify they have the information they said they did and when I went in to the pharmacy they did not have it. If my insurance did not dictate where I get my prescriptions I would definitely be going somewhere else because this is the most unorganized Pharmacy in town. I have been going to this location for 10 years and the pharmacy is not nearly as bad as people make it to be. I have experienced long wait times but the employess are always nice and apologetic. The rest of the store has a wide selection of products for reasonable but high prices. They recently added a small selection of beer and the domestic beer is well priced and goes on sale for even cheaper. read more

This is the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. I recently moved from Orange County and used Walgreens there and was always pleased with all of their service. So when I moved to Corona, it seemed a no-brainer to use Walgreens. I had my prescriptions dropped there last year. Got a text from Walgreens saying that they were ready. I walked into the pharmacy to pick them up. There were several rude, frazzled employees with at least 10 people in line. After about 20 minutes, it's my turn. I'm told that my prescriptions are not ready - even though they just sent me a text saying that they were. Tried to call the next day to find out status. The phone rings and rings with no one answering. If someone does answer, they don't have an answer and supposedly transfers to someone who does. However, that someone never picks up the phone. Drive thru line takes at least 15 minutes for 2 cars ahead. It's absurd. I transferred all my prescriptions after all the hassle. Unfortunately, my husband's dr. accidently called his prescription into Walgreens rather than Walmart. I figured it's been over a year, maybe something got better since it couldn't get worse. Boy was I wrong. They called yesterday to say that the script was ready. I called in about an hour before going in there to get the price. Again it was confirmed that it was ready. I walked into the pharmacy, two people on staff, 5 people in line, the girl at the front desk was sweet but had no idea what she was doing and then the only one that seemed like they might know something said she was going on break. I gave them my new address on the phone last night and again today. When I got there, I had to give it to them again and my scripts were not ready!!! I waited for nearly 25 minutes only for them to tell me that one of them seems to have been lost and they don't have it in stock. Then asked me to confirm my address again............what a colossal waste of time. I felt like there had to be a hidden camera somewhere because it was so ridiculous. Just transferred all of the scripts away from there. Also, they are more expensive than any other place I've checked. Not sure how they're staying in business. It's a joke!! Steer clear! read more

This particular Walgreens is the closest pharmacy to my home, so we usually go here to fill prescriptions. While the wait has been unbelievably long at times (both inside and in the drive-thru), the people who work there have always been friendly. This morning I experienced terrific customer service and was compelled to write a review. I woke up with a terrible migraine and checked the Walgreens app to see if my prescription was ready for pickup. Apparently it was held up for some insurance issue so I decided to call he pharmacy. The pharmacy tech told me that I would have to wait until January as my insurance will only pay for so many within a certain time period. I thanked her with the intention of calling my insurance company later. My phone rang less than 3 minutes later and it was the same Walgreens employee I had just spoken to. She looked at my insurance again and noticed that they would pay for 3 pills right now while waiting for a full refill in January. This was at 6:30am and I had my medicine in hand by 7:30. Very impressed with the customer service I received this morning; definitely went above my expectations. read more

This review is for the manager MARK. I am very disappointed in the type of management this man runs. I went in to Walgreens to buy something small and I was waiting in this line to be checkout and keep in mind there is a long line and only one cashier. The cashier name is Julie or Julia (I don't remember)very sweet girl and trying her best to check everyone out quickly as possible with a positive attitude and still trying to promote donations for St.Jude which I was impressed. While this is happening I made eye contact with the manager and he see this line, but instead he walks away to do something (I am assuming to call for help in the cashier section) and he walks right out. I was very very very disappointed that he himself did not come help Julie/Julia in the cashier section until someone at least came to take over. At this point I'm next to get checked out and I told Julia/Julie that she is doing an amazing job for the circumstance she is in. Mark, you need to re-evaluate yourself and remember any company you work for needs to be a team effort. HORRIBLE!!!!!! I HATE this Pharmacy!! I hve yet to pick up a prescription without an issue. There's ALWAYS a problem. And dont bother calling n a refill, bcuz I've done that 4 different times and went to pick it up 2 to 4 days later and THEY WERE NOT EVEN REFILLED!!! And they even changed the instructions on my heart medication!! from twice to once a day, then blamed it on my doc. So i called my doc and they said there was nvr any prescription written that said once a day. UGH!!! I spend 45min to 1.5 hrs EACH time i go pick up a refill. And the staff are jus bodies to take up space, they don't even try to help. They kno NOTHING. Ystrdy they told me my meds were rejected by my insurance so I called my insurance and and found out my insurance had paid TWICE. But pharmacy was still charging me $63!!! And today I dropped off a prescription, they said it'll be 3hrs so I go home then they call me and say they don't hve that medication n stock and I need to go back to pick up the prescription. WTH!!? My husband and I had to go to this location for the western union.. We walk up to the computer and so our thing.. The lady for photo was helping another girl and had to call someone for the lady because something was wrong.. The lady said let me see if I can get someone else to help you because I need to clock out.. I have three minutes to clock out.. Well the assistant manager comes walking by and the employee goes can you finish helping this girl I have to clock out.. The assistant manager goes well she has to call to change her Name we can't do it. She has to call.. Just being a total b word. So then my husband and I are almost done and the employee is still helping this other lady and she keeps saying I need to clock out. The lady was like clock out but I need help. The employee walks away says let me get someone to help you. My husband and I were right by the employee door so when she was putting the numbers in the door so goes my god!! Like she was so mad, then u hear her tell another employee once she is in the door she goes sarcastically "it's been such a wonderful day." Hold time to speak with someone needs improvement wait times usally are minimum 10 minutes long. pharmacist are very knowledgeable but could learn more about customer service from their wonderful staffed pharmacist assistances.
