What a great family pharmacy. Lived here over 30 years and had no idea it was there. Literally across the street from our house. Now, my husband says he's switching everything over to them . Plus, he says he's can get a bag of chips and a candy bar. They are a compounding pharmacy, the DR at the ER said it literally was the only place in town that could do this special mouthwash. They did call me and say my insurance didn't cover it, but I got it anyways.. On a personal level, this mouthwash is "DISGUSTING" stung my mouth for a few seconds... then I guess the lidocaine kicked in, it numbed my mouth, cheeks, roof of my mouth and 1/2 down my throat. I struggled to swallow and the tongue halfway down felt like a hairy spider was on it. Keep in mind, you swish and spit.. unknown how my throat got involved. My big box pharmacy of 10+ years recently closed down. We transferred all our prescriptions to another big box only to find our insurance no longer accepted this pharmacy. I loved my original big box pharmacy and all the pharmacist knew me and were helpful and friendly. I like to believe I am a easy client and show respect and understanding and expect the same from others. The big box I transferred to was a mess. I would have prescriptions sent 2 weeks early and when I called to check status they would not have ordered. Instead of finding a prescription for me for a blood monitor, they told me to buy it on Amazon so they didn't have to deal with it, I also felt that I didn't have the connection I did hat the other pharmacy so I looked into a small pharmacy. I wanted the relationship with my pharmacist but also wanted to feel like I wouldn't have to sacrifice the availability of medication. I also love supporting small businesses when I can. I transferred our family of 4's 15+ medications. They spent hours figuring out all our medications and making sure everything was properly ordered. They treated me as a human and not as a number. I am an executive at a company in Irvine and frankly don't have he time to manage medications and make sure competency. The team here was awesome and I am so excited to find a new pharmacy and look forward to working with them for years to come. Horrible pharmacy and customer service. My doctor had sent a prescription here for a quick pickup, but it never got filled. When I went to pick up they said the owner wanted to speak with me. She then asked if I could transfer all my meds here and I told her I couldn't. She then gets extremely rude and told me if I didn't transfer then they won't fill my prescription. I couldn't believe she was trying to threaten me that way with my medication. I would advise not to go here. read more

Surprised at the negative comments. I've now been coming here over 5 years. I have several health issues and I'm chronic so I'm at Palmieri a lot! They are very knowledgeable and do go above and beyond. Sometimes insurance requires prior authorizations and there's red tape that has nothing to do with the pharmacy yet they go above and beyond in dealing with it all so I don't have to. I think some people get impatient or don't understand so they leave a bad review over it. read more

They are always looking out for me, telling me when my blood pressure meds are do for a refill. The staff is great, service is quick and efficient. When I first went to this pharmacy a year ago I thought they were really great. They ended up being absolutely horrible. I have time sensitive medication and their customer service was horrible. I would drop my prescription off, go to pick it up on the fill date, and they wouldn't have it filled because insurance denied it. I frankly do not care if insurance denied it, I know it is out of pocket, I dropped it off for a reason. I would be told it was ready and then come in and they would rush to fill it. They would call me asking to speak with my doctor (?) I to this day do not understand the logic of why that happened because I am obviously not related to my doctor, nor would she be sitting at my house or job with me. One specific, frustratingly mind blowing day I spent a total of four hours on the phone between the pharmacy, my insurance, and my doctor, because the individual (not the pharmacist) was inputting the wrong medication to my insurance. My insurance told me there was no issue and it was all the pharmacy. When I called the pharmacy the woman was condescending and told me the medication I submitted was not real and they could not fill it. I told her this was the same medication I have been taking for MONTHS. My dad ended up going in, after the woman hung up on me, and spoke with the pharmacist who told me that a box (on paperwork THEY filled out and submitted to the insurance) was marked incorrectly. They then complained about me to my father when they were the ones causing the issues. My doctor told me they were not good to deal with and they were incompetent and did not understand common pharmacy knowledge. Example is she would prescribe me something and they would say it doesn't exist, yet my insurance confirmed it existed and a quick google search also confirmed the same. And what do you know... my doctor had other people taking the same medication, yet it somehow did not exist? I decided I was tired of their unprofessional-ism and bad customer service and started going to a different pharmacy. Shockingly my medication was over $100 cheaper at Savon, and Savon informed me they had been overcharging me for my medication for the past year. I am not sure what other people would call this, but I call it stealing and misrepresentation. They need better support staff. It seems like they are related to the pharmacist, but he should objectively look at how they work and treat customers and hire intelligent individuals who can speak to customers without a condescending tone. Nothing will be done because people who hire family will not terminate them which is unfortunate for his business. read more

This has been my pharmacy now for a few years and I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else to fill my prescriptions! Many people don't realize that filling prescriptions can be a daunting experience that's riddled with dirty looks and excessive questions, or the ever so uncomfortable "We don't carry that here, you'll need to go somewhere else". At Palimieri they are kind and quick, and almost always have every last prescription I roll in with, on hand. What more could you ask for from a small neighborhood pharmacy? The staff is very helpful, making you feel like a part of the family, and you never have to worry about judgement or inappropriate questions. We transferred from the defunct Med Rex drug to Palmieri Pharmacy with a brief stop in the middle at Walgreens. Switching to Palmieri Pharmacy was a great decision. Fast friendly service and they do everything possible to help with all our medication needs. They work very well with all our doctors. I am brand new to this pharmacy, and let me tell you.. BY FAR THE BEST IN THE ENTIRE INLAND EMPIRE!! I recently moved to San Fernando valley and haven't changed my doctors and all that yet, so I travel 82 miles to see my doctor and fill my prescription. The pharmacy I use to use never had my meds in stock and that makes it all the more inconvenient. My dr. Recommended I go to palmieri pharmacy. Due to complications from my insurance I needed to come back to pick up my percription which was on a Saturday. I did not realize they close at 1pm on Saturday and I wasn't going to make it till 1:30. THEY WERE SO AMAZING TO STAY OPEN 30MINS longer SO I COULD PICK UP MY MEDS!!!! I had problems with CVS in the past and recently switched over all of my prescriptions to these guys and I had no issues. CVS would normally always have me waiting for my prescriptions even when I dropped it off 1 week earlier. I even switched to a different CVS over on 6th street but I still had issues. This is a great pharmacy. Sam the Pharmacist is very knowledgeable and his staff very professional. I was super impressed with his compounding part of the pharmacy. Good compounding pharmacies are hard to find. Corona is lucky to have this one. Not to many pharmacist know about the medication I'm taking called LDN ( low dose naltrexone) I was impressed when I walked in with the prescription and he new all about the medication . In fact they have gone above and beyond what any pharmacy would do for to help someone with an insurance problem, or slow to answer doctor's office. Our family has been going to this pharmacy since the original pharmacist owned it (jim Palmieri). It is now owned by a new pharmacist and is absolutely horrible. Our bad experiences have ranged from then "forgetting" to fill our prescriptions, to miscommunicating with doctors, and worse, not accurately filling our prescriptions and slipping other people's medication into our order. I have to say that this pharmacy is a mom and pop outfit that has literally saved my life. They basically offer me a certain medication at a price that is HALF of what other pharmacies were offering, and had it not been for them I would never have been able to seek treatment in a situation were my life was at stake! Anyone in the Corona area should switch to these people, their service is great, they are cheaper, and they actually care about their patients. First of all, let me say that I highly recommend Sam and his crew at this wonderful, family-owned pharmacy. Over the years, I have endured the incompetency of various pharmacies such as Walgreens and CVS where you are just a number. There is definitely something to be said for family run businesses, provided they have integrity and genuinely care about their customers. Palmeiri Pharmacy does just that! I won't bore you with details of the horrific experience I had trying to get meds for my son after he had a seizure (first time ever and very stressful!). CVS had issues and for some reason couldn't fill the prescription. I took the doctor's handwritten prescription to Palmeiri and Sam made some phone calls, assured me that it was going to be ok and that he would make certain my son was taken care of. I cannot tell you the relief I felt, not having ever dealt with seizures before, that my son would be ok. Both Sam and his staff always make sure that everything is going well and spend time getting to know our family. Going to Palmeiri is like getting help from a friend. I was a customer at this pharmacy for a number of years, and then it changed hands. I was skeptical at first, but just recently, I went through a problem where my doctor did not fill out an authorization on time. I would have totally been without meds and in terrible shape, but the owner, Sam, worked with me so that I could have some medication until the authorization went through. He went above and beyond anything that was to be expected. Not only so, but he is not just pushing pills - he has shown a genuine concern when he felt that a certain medication was perhaps being overutilized by me.
