I had to go to this Walgreens because every Walgreens in the city was out of my medication, and this Walgreens was the only one who had it in stock. I haven't been here in years, so I was very impressed by the cleanliness, orderliness, and wealth of stock the store maintains. I will say, though, it is a long walk from the double doors to the Pharmacy in the back, and this is the most important part of my review, it's obvious that walking is difficult for me, and the guard who was on duty was so incredibly kind. I needed a few things, and he knew where everything was, making it very easy for me and he walked beside me, which was so thoughtful. Literally the first time that has ever happened in a Walgreens.. The pharmacy itself is a great example of how a pharmacy should be run. They have three windows with employees in every window. There was a line, but it moved quite quickly, and there is ample seating while you wait. When I was getting ready to leave, and called for a car, the guard gave me his chair by the front door doors to sit while I waited. I could have waited on one of three cast-iron benches just outside the door, but it was cold outside. This guard is truly a gentleman and an exemplary employee of Walgreens. I didn't get his name, but I will always remember his kindness. For the seamless transaction, quality of stock and kindliness of the guard, I highly recommend this Walgreens. read more

I want to give a huge thank you to the pharmacist at Walgreens who went above and beyond to help my family. I urgently needed an antibiotic prescription prepared for my son on 8/9/2026 while I was at home with a newborn, and she was so helpful and understanding. She also helped my mom, who went to pick everything up and does not speak much English, and made sure she was able to get the over-the-counter medications we needed as well. She also called me back to clarify some OTC meds that were needed. Her kindness, patience, and willingness to help during a stressful time meant so much to me and my family. I see that every one has a horrible experience with this "pharmacy." I agree about the long ass lines and the slow service. I do suggest coming early morning (I'm talking about 7-8 am) to avoid the lines. I've had the worse experience here picking up meds for someone. Whoever is working in the back is incompetent. You have one job, that's to count the pills. I've picked up a prescription where they undercounted a 90-day supply by a lot. I literally had to count it out and called and complained. I get the runaround from these morons. The first call someone told me that they can't help me because they "pharmacist" isn't here. Aren't you a 24 hour store? I find that hard to believe. They told me to call back the next day. I call back and there's no record of my previous call. I had to regurgitate the whole painful story and after a lot of hemming and hawing, they finally agreed to give us the remaining pills. The final straw was when they shortened the 90-day prescription to 30. Yup meaning we have to show up every month to this horrible store to pick up the pills owed to us. This was not a new prescription. First call to complain, they tell me oh yeah we were short so we're just giving you what we have. The rest is available on Monday. I waited for that notice to pick up the remainder and it never came. I call again. The moron who picked up said oh, it's too early to refill. You have to come back in 30 days (they split that 90 day prescription). When I told them this was not a new RX and it was always filled for 90 days before the moron blamed my insurance!?!!? They made that mistake and will not take personal responsibility. I moved the prescription to CVS, where we got better service. NEVER AGAIN WALGREENS. read more

The clerk didn't greet me; instead she was preoccupied chatting with a fellow female Filipino clerk (this for context & ID purposes). I didn't receive a perfunctory "thank you" or a receipt! I don't know what's wrong with this place but the pharmacy people are rude as all hell. I had a prescription my doctor sent to them and Walgreens called me to tell me my prescription was ready. So I went to go pick it up and they called me AGAIN to tell me my prescription was ready. I went through the entire message then hung up. Then I had to get directions to the Walgreens but 1minute later Walgreens called AGAIN to tell me my prescription was ready. Stopping me from doing what I was trying to do on my phone. I finally get the directions (oh mind you while trying to get the directions Walgreens interrupted me twice) I get to Walgreens and These motherfuckers CALLED AGAIN TO tell me my PRESCRIPTION was ready . I went through the entire message AGAIN. THere was no way to let them know to stop calling me now cause I got all 6 calls and 2 messages. I GET IT, MY PERSCRIPTION IS READY. I'm in line and I was in line for over 20minutes and within those twenty minutes Walgreens called me 3more times!! I Got a total of 15 calls in less than an hour!!! I get up to the register AND MY PERSCRIPTION WAS NOT EVEN READY!!!!!!! I HAD TO WAIT 20 minutes for them to put it through!!! I wait and after 20minutes I'm getting the calls again. Then while my wife was waiting for me, she too was trying to get sunscreen, but since they lock up everything (which is insulting to all the customer's) she pushed the button for assistance and she too sat there and waited for over 10minutes and no one ever came to help her. She pressed it again after 10minutes and then an Asian lady came and pressed another button for something behind her. After 7or 8minutes finally someone came and the lady goes and helps the Asian lady first and the Asian lady says "oh she was waiting before me she was here first" and the staff member said "it's okay it doesn't matter who was here first"!!!!!By then she had unlocked the products for the lady and she grabbed it. The CUSTOMER APOLOGIZES to my wife and my wife tells her it's no problem it's not your fault I appreciate you trying to help" and then the staff comes up to my wife Hella rude rolling her eyes. Oh I forgot to mention the product the Asian lady grabbed they let her walk away with. When the staff unlocked the product for my wife she then took it out of my wife's hand and told her it will be up at the register when she's ready to buy it. Like WTF!!! I've been going to this pharmacy for a while and the last time I submitted an order, they were only able to partially fill it. They told me that they'd be able to fulfill the order in a couple days. I waited a week, only to find out that they canceled the order without informing me. This was my second bad experience with this site. We've been coming to this Walgreens way before all the new shops opened up. Heck, we were coming here since 2012 and have seen things change in the Plaza. Walgreens is always Walgreens. Meaning they have alittle bit of everything. But then at times, just. It enough of what you may need. The pharmacy has very rude service. I go here often because it's nearby, and I always dismissed the rudeness of the employees due to the foot traffic. However, today I went when the line was empty and I was the only customer, and I was still treated like garbage. Rudely saying in an annoyed tone, "look at the SCREEN" when I didn't realize there was a prompt asking if I wanted to donate something before confirming my card payment is inexcusable, especially if there's nothing to rush for. (This was after like 3 seconds of me not noticing) Not to mention my prescription was handed to me with no words and an annoyed expression. What did I even do? This isn't my only bad experience. This is consistent with every interaction I've had at this specific Walgreens over the last 5 years. The only reason I'm surprised at this point is because I went at a time where there's less of a crowd. While the employees here are unprofessional and rude, I believe the problem is bad management. Why are the standards so low? Why do other pharmacies with even more foot traffic provide noticeably better service? This pharmacy, though there are some good workers. There is always long line to pick up their medicines. It does not matter if you come early at 8:00 am. There is a long line. A lot of times there's only 1 customer service which is very frustrating . Some does not only pick up their Meds but asked questions regarding their prescriptions. Refill . Their system is not well organized . There should be a separate who should handle these queries . They should hire two more licensed people to work in the pharmacy to make it Moore effective. Let's start with what I like: Open 24 hours However, this is one of the worst places to have your doctor send a prescription. There's usually a shortage of pharmacists, and a long line ensues, with only one functioning counter that tries to service several patients. If you need a consultation after pickup, good luck, as there is another line and often the pharmacist isn't around, so be prepared to wait in front of an empty window. I have empathy for the employees, as they stated they are short staffed, but that's a problem for the corporation to solve. Making customers wait 30 mins in line, only to tell them their prescription isn't ready, and then to stand in the line again is a colossal waste of everyone's time. What we need is a better check-in and pick-up system that uses technology (a phone or a kiosk). To be fair, the overworked, under appreciated employees are nice, and struggling because of Walgreens corporations cost-focussed mismanaged HR priorities. read more

Typically I have no issues with printing photos at this location, but this time around I get a call from this rude and unprofessional Filipino lady after placing an order of photos that my boyfriend took of me which were a few of my graduation pictures that were simply taken on his camera and he edited the lighting a little bit. I only wanted to print out a few photos to hand out to my family. The lady goes on rudely and sarcastically saying, "I know what you're trying to do, we see this a lot and this is clearly a professional photographer and you need to prove a formal release letter from your photographer in order for us to print these." She was so rude and not accepting the fact that just because the pictures are good quality, that does not mean I went to a professional company/photographer especially if there wasn't even any watermarks on it. I was nicely asking and explaining my situation but she was still so rude about it. I decided to order directly from CVS at a different location and they didn't question me or give me any issues about my photos. I used to be loyal to this location but I don't recommend if you want to print good quality pictures you took yourself because that lady will go all FBI on you for no reason. This pharmacy is so bad and unreliable. Always long line in person and they always messed up the delivery. CANNOT TRUST their same day service. They are always shorthanded and super rude. I have to call to make inquiry for the status of our refills and deliveries and every time we inquire, it takes three to five attempts because the staff who man the phone keep looping you through their voice answering machine and sometimes their staff purposely hang up after a long wait being out on hold for 15-20 mins each time. I wanted to pick up some things from Walgreens today, plus I had also wanted to check out this location. First parking was okay, but I also visited at mid afternoon on a weekday. My local Walgreens is a fraction in size of this Daly City location so I appreciated the expanded inventory, and services. The space has a nice photo / print area, modern refrigeration cases, and a large pharmacy area. I did notice a line for the pharmacy, but it's unknown to me how quickly customers are serviced at this location. What I did notice is that not all Sale items had proper pricing displayed, and that some inventory was out of stock. As for checkout it was painless, and after this experience I'd return. read more

This is the worst pharmacy I've ever been, terrible customer service, no respect for their customers' time. I scheduled a Covid shot for 9, got there and checked in. Two people with earlier appointments were still waiting to be called. By 9:30 nothing had happened and all we were told was to wait to be called. I left and went to CVS where they gave me the shot right away. I had to pay out of pocket because Walgreens found the time to bill my insurance--they just couldn't be bothered to actually provide the vaccine. Truly a terrible place with awful people. The manager at this Walgreens pharmacy requests private patient notes from doctors to justify their prescriptions. When asked to elaborate they requested "patient progress reports". Not sure this is actually legal, since they are just a pharmacy. My medical provider was actually really suspicious of this and urged me to go elsewhere. Walgreens does not need my personal history. Hey there and store had sign that says actually closed at 8p....ok... Then realized the metal blockage had a printed sign saying,' due to staffing shortage pharmacy closed at 6p. It's completely UNACCEPTABLE... That they don't accurately update the signage and recordings with actual times open for business. They are not even capable of finding patients order. They don't know hoe to search a person's name! This lady told me that I have no orders in the system. Pharmacy Dept is the worst, very bad customer service, top to bottom. While standing in line I witnessed at least 4 customers having issue. They are slow and are so unhelpful. People would call and be put on hold for a long time and pretty much forgotten until they probably hung up. No accountability, or pride in there work. There faces describes it all. This review is for all Walgreens not just Westlake. I've used Walgreens all my life and they used to be great. You'd be at a doctor appt. and they'd call in a prescription and by the time you drove there it would be ready. Not anymore you'd be lucky to get it that same day. All my prescriptions are on auto refill and you'd think with technology and inventory supply software that they would have your meds ready for you monthly. I've left Walgreens due to every month my regular prescriptions were out of stock and they'd tell me to find another store that had them. This Walgreens is absolute garbage. For so many reasons, the worst of which is the constant line at the pharmacy. See the picture I've included with the ridiculously long line at the pharmacy? The line that's literally to the front door and not moving? That wasn't unusual - it's like that ALL THE TIME. And if you ever actually get to the counter, I can guarantee you there will be a problem with your order and they won't know what to do about it. It's not just me; my husband, roommate - we ALL have this issue. We're in the process of transferring to CVS, but it's a total pain to get prescriptions transferred. Oh! And you know how the pharmacy is listed as open 24/7 (which was the entire reason I even went there in the first place - I work nights)? It's not. Apparently they now close at 8. Second time this Walgreens "didn't have" my photo order. Both times were for free promotions they were running. It was infuriating. At first, Sophia said somebody picked it up already. I told her no one else knew about it. Then she checked store cameras and discovered it was their own store clerk who destroyed them.. I showed her the email notification sent to me just four days before for pickup. Apparently they have a non-published policy to destroy if not picked up in 10 days. Sophia refused to reprint for free and first said I would have to pay full price and then offered a discount. What??!!!! After an hour of arguing with her, I left the store pissed off! I wrote to the store and they simply don't care. They never responded. That's one of the reasons, besides theft, that they have to close their stores. read more

This is the Walgreens I shop at most of the time, located in the Westlake shopping center, so, conveniently located where I do most of my basic shopping in the evenings and usually stop here and Target and sometimes at the Trader Joes, after making my daily stop at Safeway. The store itself is fine and one of the bigger Walgreens stores with more items than a Walgreens in the city. The staff are generally nice, especially Trang who has a super personality and always goes out her way to say nice things and please her regular customers who check out in the cosmetics register. The shoplifting problem in this area is amongst the worst at this store and is frustrating to watch. Some of the prices are exorbitant compared to other stores and Amazon, but the one thing that really bugs me about this store is that the Cashiers almost never pay attention to when a very long line forms, without calling for an IC3! that and the fact that they imposed this 'one line' rule where everyone is to line up somewhere between check stands one and two and even put up a sign that says "One line starts here" but have since removed it, but the cashiers don't pay enough attention to their own rule and there is no consistency on that! I don't even know how this rule is supposed to benefit anyone or what purpose it serves; just confuses people and some people even get into arguments over who is next in line. read more
