I barely leave reviews, but once or twice a year and this is my first this year. I let my tweenager go into this pharmacy today as she is learning independence and money management. She had a combination of mostly coins with her to the total of $5.91. She wanted to buy a small bottle of honey, but she ended up being 8 cents short. Apparently, the cashier called out to the manager, telling him that she was 8 cents short. When this manager approached, my daughter said she felt very nervous at first and was going to check the stop and shop close by, but then he said it was okay and they would sell it to her anyway. Forgive me for laboring on this, but if you want to make a mother very happy, be kind to her child!!! When she got back, I gave her some more money to return the 8 cents as she is learning money management, and while this was such a wonderful and kind gesture, I wanted her to know she has to account for how much she needs when she goes to the shop. Sam, thank you so much for being so kind to my daughter! You warmed my heart, and it is good to know that there are still very nice and caring people out there. Also, for the lady who wanted to pay the extra for my daughter, thank you so so much! This walgreens is a very nice and cozy place to visit. Yes they are understaffed but don't worry, they are also rude. Prescriptions weren't ready on time so I waited an additional half hour. Then the guy who works at the counter told me they only had a partial fill of my prescription and when I told him I was leaving town and couldn't pick it up later he just ripped up the paperwork without any communication. He seemed to have a chip on his shoulder about a problem they were responsible for. I'm gonna look for any other pharmacy in the area that will take my insurance. read more

This really is the worst pharmacy I've ever used. It's shocking to me that there is nothing else in the area. Understaffed, they close in the middle of the day for lunch (and for most people lunch is the best time to run out and do an errand), and everyone working there just seems miserable--so rude, so disaffected. The Walgreens store itself is fine - if not somewhat sparsely stocked - but relatively clean and the staff pleasant enough. The pharmacy, on the other hand, is absolutely appalling. The pharmacy technicians are rude, unhelpful and have very little to no idea what they're talking about. The pharmacists are similarly unprofessional, rude and disinterested in doing their jobs adequately. I can't even tell you the number of times that I've gone to pick up a prescription and have been told "Oh it's not ready yet," even though I received an automated call or update in the app saying that it was ready. They waited until I went to pick up a prescription to tell me that they were out of stock and wouldn't be receiving more for another day or two - a prescription that was sent to them five days prior and that I had completely run out of at that point, because when I had tried to pick it up a day or two early in the past, I was turned away. Just don't bother trying to get your prescriptions filled unless you have hours to wait around + more hours to spend on the phone going back and forth between your doctor, these a**holes and other pharmacies, no urgent need for the medications prescribed to you by your doctor, and are interested in being treated with rude, ignorant and defensive indifference. read more

Two prescriptions were sent by my doctor; on hold without a response; called again told to go to store in 90 minutes no notification that they did not have it and will not have for three days. Pharmacist and register clerk were not helpful. All they could tell me was I was given wrong information by call center that script would be ready in 90 minutes. Pharmacist tells me aloud that it's a controlled substance and cannot be transferred. Pharmacist lacked professionalism. I agree with another reviewer! Go to another pharmacy. Do not use this pharmacy. The simplest tasks are impossible, a 2 person line takes 25 minutes and you will be informed your prescription is ready and then arrive only to be told to wait for it. Good luck EVER getting anyone to answer the phone. I live 2 minutes away and will be driving an extra 15 to avoid this mess. A real shame. read more

The workers in general are nice there. Beauty person is a pleasure to speak with always and gives out free gift samples. Another guy ordered a little notebook for me that I purchase there periodically. Cashiers are pleasant too. You can use their bathroom upstairs upon request. Choose a different Pharmacy is right! ALways a long line. Never enough help to answer questions. They close here and there because they don't have a pharmacist to work the day??? I am currently on hold for 31.15 minutes waiting to rectify an issue that I have already dealt with. This is outrageous. Unfortunately I have no choice but to wait for someone to pick up the phone. I was just verbally attacked by the pharmacist while trying to fill a Rx. I was in the middle of a transaction and Kim came over and said we're closed and she wasn't going to fill my Rx. she didn't try to help to discuss, she called the police on my because I asked to speak to her manager and ask for them to write it down. she was abusive from the second she stepped in front of the clerk at 6pm! I was very calm and trying to fill a Rx. look at the video feed! it's all recorded. please pull the feed, and don't record over it! it will show how awful I was treated. she should be fired! I will NEVER, step foot in that Walgreens again until she is fired! read more

The may be the worst drugstore ever inflicted on an unsuspecting public. The pharmacy staff are rude, lazy and unhelpful. On top of that, the turnover is ridiculous so that you're never talking to the same person from Monday to Tuesday. They are overly rigid and frankly not very informed. Many of the licenced pharmacists are there just for a day, so they have no interest in the store's reputation and thus in what the patients think. Wait times are often horrific, getting through on the phone is a miracle, and sometimes getting an email or text that "your prescription is ready for pickup" is simply not true. None of the staff seems to fewl like calling a customer about a problem but let them shlep in only to be turned away after waiting in line. The clerks in the rest of the store are surly, at least one "manager" is hostile, and parts of the shelves are usually skimpily stocked (and god help you if you ask for something. If I were a Walgreen's exec, I'd close it down. It's hopeless. Meanwhile, go somewhere else. read more

I must add that after I had neck surgery a few months ago, my surgeon called in five meds to this Walgreen,s and it didn't have THREE of them. VERY annoying and frustrating! I have switched all my maintenance medications to the Rite Aid in Ardsley. Do not use this pharmacy. Clean drug store and conveniently located. It does it's job for a quick cosmetic or snack run. I personally don't use the pharmacy here after reading the reviews it seems like the service is very low so I don't think I will be switching to have my medication sent to this one. The pharmacy here is not only slow, the service and attitude of the technicians is surprisingly poor. They don't greet anyone, they don't apologize for the wait, and their explanation for the slow service is that they are so busy. During the time I was there, one woman was already there with her child and discovered they didn't have one of the critical prescriptions she needed, then she had to wait a long time while they filled the rest. No one offered to call another walgreens to get the needed prescription. Another woman showed up, and finally after her third time in today, they had it ready. When I was finally seen, they didn't even know my prescription had been ordered and hadn't started to fulfill it. Based on other reviews, I don't think this is unusual. read more

The pharmacy never has your prescription ready, no matter how long ago it was called in. It is truly not worth it. The time you spend waiting, is the time it takes you to drive elsewhere. The pharmacy was closed yesterday, on Saturday, a day it was supposed to be open, with no explanation on the sign they posted on the grate lowered in front of the pharmacy. I'm trying to call right now, on Sunday, to see if the pharmacy is open, before I drive all the way over there to pick up my prescription. But I've been on hold for 11 minutes already. Every few minutes the music stops and the phone starts ringing, like it would before someone picks up after you've been hold. But no one picks up, it rings a few times and then goes back to the music. Now I've been on hold for 15 minutes. I guess I'll be driving all the way over there to maybe or maybe not pick up a prescription. read more

I wish I could give the Walgreens store on Ashford Avenue in Dobbs Ferry NO stars, its pharmacy is so bad. My usual pharmacy closed, and prescriptions were transferred to this store. Today I spent 30 MINUTES trying to get two prescriptions filled, because the genius "pharmacy technician" couldn't figure out that I was the same person whose prescriptions were transferred. I had to contact my doctor to ask him to re-send the prescriptions to Walgreens. After he did that, I waited 45 MINUTES to get them filled-- and the pharmacy didn't have enough medicine to fill both completely. I have to go back tomorrow to pick up the half of one prescription they couldn't fill. There were 3 PEOPLE on duty at that pharmacy, one dumber than the next. Walgreens needs to either train these people or fire them! This is not the only time I've had a bad experience dealing with their pharmacy, either, and I'm sure it won't be the last. read more

I called to have prescription refilled at Wallgreens in Dobbs Ferry on Wednesday and was told it was being filled. Today, I go to pick it up and was given a package, but only realized when I returned home that they gave me 5 out of 90 pills. Nobody told me that in the store. I went back to get a clarification when I can get the remaining 85 pills. This is vital heart medication. I waited in line for 15 minutes behind a customer who was complaining about his prescription not being ready. Then, all of sudden, the store manager appears and closes the pharmacy for lunch! By that time, there was a long line of very unhappy people behind me. Couldn't the manager have accommodated the people already on line and then take their half hour? And more importantly, what is happening to my heart medication? If the store cannot fill my prescription, I will need a substitute medication from my doctor. I cannot wait till I run out. This is pretty lousy customer service and customer/patient care. It also happened to me once before that they could not refill a prescription and I was only told after I ran out of the medication! So much for customer service or patient care. read more

This branch is very conveniently located at the main intersection in town. There is a beauty department, and this location has a very innovative pharmacy. You are able to check out your order and pre-pay, and the pharmacist gets it right to you. Cuts out a lot of waiting time, however fortunately there has been minimal lines the few times I have been there. There is decent parking, and the place is pretty clean. My biggest disappointment was that the hours are not 24/7. read more

Although I'm sadly missing the three previous stores at this location, the Walgreens and soon-to-be suite of MD offices upstairs are not bad. That said, many locals avoid the place and shop at the independent Cary's Pharmacy on Main Street. The look of the Walgreens from the outside is far better than your typical Walgreens, CVS or Rite-Aid, which don't allow you to look inside from the outside. They built the store to the edge of the sidewalk, which is great. There are huge windows that provide a sense of openness to the sidewalk and the street -- a great decision, as it pulls in people going past the store. And when you're on the bus, you get a fabulous view of the interior of the store. Very welcoming. This openness is enhanced by the decision to put low-height shelves and the beauty section in the space closest to the front windows. The natural light coming from the windows improves decision-making for make-up (or so I'm told), contrasting with flourescent-bulb glare at other stores. Not sure why they made the ceilings so bizarrely high; the lights have to hang down 10 feet or more from the ceiling, for no apparent reason. The builder could have made the same height building 3 stories instead of 2. The inside of the store still has that "just opened" feeling, with the staff very motivated to help you. The staff seem to get credit for a web-survey that they really want you to fill-out. A bit annoying to be asked, and reflects a weird Big Brother thing by their corporate overlords. Walgreens should change this system of rating employees because it is just creepy. The kids from the local schools go here a lot. Doesn't make me happy but it is a fact. My kids tell me that the candy selection has all the main brands, albeit often in obesity-causing supersizes. And the ability for the kids to walk here after school for other "necessities" (middle and high school kids buy make-up) saves the parents from having to drive them to CVS and Rite-Aid on weekends. The location is good, at the intersection of Broadway (Rt. 9), and Ashford Avenue. There are Bee-Line Bus stops within a block or so for the #1, #6, and #66 lines. There is a seriously solid bicycle rack in the back between the Dobbs Diner and Walgreens. Car parking is more than adequate, with free lots at Walgreens, Stop & Shop, Chase, and on-street free parking along Broadway across from Mobil enabling motorists to park once and do all your errands. The great pedestrian phasing at the intersection stops all cars while pedestrians cross, a benefit for parents with little kids. Unlike many suburban towns, people don't seem embarrassed to be seen walking in Dobbs Ferry. As to Antonella P's comment about the no left turns coming out of the parking lot, just make the right turn and go around the block to Maple Ave. Easy. read more

i took a drive on sunday afternoon to get out of the house with my face mask, gloves , hand sanitizer and clorox wipes and decided to visit dobbs ferry. a cold beverage is required and right in sight is walgreens so i better find a spot in the parking and go in. a standard walgreens with a pharmacy in the back and the typical stuff that you can find in any walgreens location. i found the fridges where they carry the drinks and they have diet caffeine free pepsi which i prefer and i cant just leave now as the weekly sales flyer has more then a few useful goodies which are mostly sold out or never in stock to begin with but cereal is available on sale and persil liquid detergent is also on sale so lets fill up my basket and get on line via the six feet apart rule. dobbs ferry is a quiet place especially at night so no need to be open 24/7. read more

The manager is not only rude but doesn't know what is in sale. When asked which candy is on sale she answered I don't know like I was bothering her. I pointed out she is the manager and should know. She said whatever ones are tagged. None were tagged. So she walks to the candy and pulls out the biggest bag and says that is the one. I wouldn't even give them one star if I didn't have to. read more

If I could label this as zero stars I would. The pharmacist is not helpful, failed to advise of possible interactions with other medicines, refused to take back and on opened bag. This pharmacy is nearest to me, but they are a bunch of clowns, especially the head pharmacist. I have a script that cannot be filled before 30 days, but at the discretion of the pharmacy can be filled 1-5 days early. I CALL and ask what day it will be ready. As happened several other times, they say the 13th (for example). I was in the store a few days ago and asked again...the 13th. I went yesterday, the 13TH!!! and the head pharmacist says "No come tomorrow". We get into why they keep telling me to come back when THEY TELL ME THE DATE! They are rude, arrogant and frankly unaware of the policies or the law. They suck! read more

I gave this a 3 star only because I find it to be clean and because of a Customer Service Assosiate named Nick who is friendly and hard working. I try to come to the store when Nick is working because hes pretty much the only kind and friendly worker who greets me with a smile. Other than that reason , I do not like the store. read more

This pharmacy used to be decent but has deteriorated so much that I am going to go elsewhere. Always a long line, inefficient and unpleasant staff, and general poor service. Such a convenient location for Dobbs residents but a disaster. They hired the "B" team after Cary's closed. Drive to Ardsley. read more

How is it that this pharmacy doesn't know what prescriptions your doctor ordered or what refill are you getting

The photo department at the store is a train wreck. I have had multiple problems with print orders from this location. The machine in house that does the printing is broken all the time. A few times I have picked up pictures that have washed out color. If there is a problem with their printing machine they do not inform customers by email. So you place an order and go to store on date they tell you to return for pickup and they inform you that the order is not ready because of the machine being broken. I have placed print orders with them 5 times. Twice orders were delayed because of the machine being broken, and once the pictures had bad color. Not a good percentage for their store. The location is convenient for me but I will have to look elsewhere for this service in the future read more

This is the nicest, cleanest, best lit Walgreens I've ever been in. The cashier should be a comedian or a writer (on the side, of course), cuz he's sooo funny. While the manager wasn't there the first couple of times I went in, the staff was working diligently and seemed to enjoy doing so. Great team effort in that place. When I did meet the manager, he too was jovial and friendly. I can see why the staff likes their work. Although the building looks looming and a little out of place in this tiny little town, Walgreens is a great asset and so convenient and offers lower prices on "drug store" items across the board. My baby pediatrician sent electronic prescribsion for my 6month baby that had emergency for his excruciating ear infection; I came in at 10am and they toled me that they did not receive it and it will take perhaps 30-1 h wait; so I went home and come back in after 1,5h and the pharmacist said that my INS is not active, I said it is becomes it's in the process, and ask her to call my INS to check, so that said she was not happy that I toled her to do that she said ok I will after I will help people behind you; I was holding my 6 month baby that was in pain and she telling me to wait I got upset and said that I need help and I am on the line now so she said that she do not need to help me and give me my INS card back and ignored me. I am suing this pharmacy !!!!! Worst experience in my life a specially for my child !!! read more
