It's always been fine (I guess?) when I go to pick up prescriptions, but when I was visiting home I stopped in for my flu shot and I, along with many families, waited over an hour despite having scheduled appointments! Absolutely ridiculous. While I was waiting, multiple people had issues with pickup, including prescriptions not being ready along with miscommunications about insurance coverage. The store is organized and I've found it easy to find stuff I need, but then more waiting for someone to be available at the front for checkout itself. Quite inefficient. I'll stick with CVS. read more

I've been using this pharmacy for two years now, and it's horrible! Every time my prescription gets put in by my doctor, it takes days for them to fill it. If you try to call them, they have one of the following responses: 1. They don't answer the phone 2. They put you on hold and never pick back up 3. They pick up the phone and hang up immediately 4. Patch you in with another customer who is also on hold (seriously!) 5. They pick up the phone (odds are 1 in 75) On the rare occasion they do pick up the phone, they are often rude. When I calling to find out why my prescription wasn't filled in a week, I was told I recently filled a prescription. When I explained that was a lower, less frequent dose and my doctor wanted me on a much higher dose, I was told, "Well maybe you should call back when you run out then." I relied, "Maybe I'll just take my business somewhere else then." He replied, "Maybe you should" and hung up on me. When I called and (eventually) got a different person to answer, I asked for the manager. She was out and wouldn't be back until the next day. This was a Thursday at 3 pm. My wife has two prescriptions she's been waiting on for six days. When she called, someone answered after 10 minutes of the phone ringing, placed on hold, and after 45 minutes, my wife hung up. Honestly, avoid this place like the plague, especially if you need prescriptions. read more

Wow...shockingly bad after using Columbia MD location. I found out that for two separate prescriptions that they had not requested refills from my doctors. I had checked with them twice on both occasions. Also, a pharmacist stepped away to chat with an old colleague while 4 of us had been waiting 30 minutes for delayed prescriptions and the line was 6 people deep. Did I mention the system that sends your prescription OUT IN THE OPEN if you have to use the outside lane of the drive through?! read more

The Walgreen's store in Eldersburg, MD has got to be the worst drugstore on earth. The following incident has happened to me four times, but not again. On Friday, December 3, my doctor at Johns Hopkins sent a prescription for an opiate medication. The store acknowledged receiving it. They don't stock the medicine, but said it would be ready on Monday. This was not good as I was out of the drug. Monday came and no drug. Then it was Tuesday, then Wednesday and still no drug. By that time, I was enraged. I had the doctor resend the prescription to another chain store. They, too, had to order it. However, they delivered it the next day. It is now a whole week since I had my medication. Not only is Walgreens incompetent, but they don't care. Not once did they get on the phone to ask where their order was or make any attempt to find it. Nor did they express any care for me, who was suffering extreme abdominal pain, as I suffer from serious abdominal issues. Plus, they don't answer the phone. You wait at least 1/2 hour with terrible music on hold or actually get hung up on. Once I was told that if people stopped calling, they could get their work done. It is widely known that Gwen Egbe is an issue both publicly and internally at Walgreens. Employees in all departments agree that there are repeated issues with this pharmacist and that she is difficult to work with. I have had countless problems trying to contact and communicate with her. The latest was today when I was told to call back 3 times in a two hour period. When I spoke to her she said that she wasn't going to refill my medicine because of the doctor's location. He is temporarily out of state. I have seen and had medication filled by this doctor at Walgreens for 10 years. These are not new medications and were just filled last month. When I asked why they have been filling them she told me that they were giving me time to find a new doctor within a 50 mile radius. I told her that I am out of medication and this was the first time I was hearing this. She then abruptly says we aren't going to fill it anymore it's been flagged. When I said that I needed time to find another doctor she just repeated that they weren't going to fill it anymore. I started asking about my other medications and she said hold on. I was put on hold in the middle of my sentence. After a few times of being placed on hold by other employees when I explained that the pharmacist put me on hold, Jeff the store manager picked up. He said that Gwen was busy and that he would help me. After telling him that I wasn't given time to find a new doctor like she said I was given he asks Gwen, who is standing right there, and she tells him she never said that. He then tells me there's nothing they can do. I asked to speak to Gwen again as I wasn't done with our conversation. When she got on the phone I again explained that no one told me last month that they weren't going to fill it anymore and that I needed to find a new doctor, like she said I was told, she denied that she said that, started talking over me and then hung up on me. Since I am completely out of medication and didn't know what to do about all of my other prescriptions I had to call back. Jeff picked up, refused to let me talk to Gwen and said that she hung up on me because she can't help me. He kept saying there's nothing they can do and then said he was going to hang up now and also hung up on me. Now I am left with no medication and have to abruptly stop taking them after being on them for years because the pharmacist suddenly decides she doesn't want to fill them anymore and gives me no notice like she said she did. This isn't the first time she has caused me to abruptly stop taking medication I have been on and she has filled for many years. She has also done it randomly when she feels that medications that she has filled years, are similar, regardless of what your doctor has decided works best for you. You cannot just take someone off of their medicine like that as there are side effects. Gwen not only does nothing to help you and has a complete lack of compassion, she is rude, completely unprofessional, dismissive and argumentative. Once she's talked at you she hangs up on you and then management just repeats what she says. Someone needs to do something about this and there needs to be some accountability for letting this one pharmacist dictate everything that happens when and how she wants it to. There are no guidelines being consistently followed, it's only when she feels like enforcing them. You cannot constantly change people's medication like this. Walgreens needs to step up and do something about how this pharmacist is affecting your customers lives. How many people have to complain before something is done? People depend on their medication and shouldn't have to deal with her unprofessionalism and worrying when she is going to suddenly refuse their refills and leave them with nothing. read more

Very disappointed. I had a drive through covid test done on Wednesday 5-18. It's Friday 5/20 and the lab website still shows no sample received. I called the store and after 20 minutes on hold was told that FedEX had picked up the tests yet. I would also recommend CVS who can mail things in less than two days. Update I did get my results at 8 PM 5/20. read more

The Pharmacy is terrible. They close at random hours because they can't get staff. Over the past 2 months they have"lost" my prescription 3 times. Avoid them and drive a few feet further to the new CVS. That's what we did. Their service is great. read more

If you want a good old neighborhood pharmacy where employees will condescendingly talk over you, ask you to step aside so they can help the next customer -when there aren't any, and tell you that the benefit directions are too much to read, this is the place for you! From the moment you walk in, and you'll have to because they're having phone problems *today, you are greeted by someone who looks annoyed to see you. Then once you give them your name, they'll tell you that you have no prescription there, only to discover that you mean the one from two weeks ago that they didn't fill. It's gets better though, try to explain how to process a new med and they'll cut you off and tell you that they already know how to get it NOT to work. Fun! Its the worst pharmacy in Eldersburg Md. I just sat on the phone for 1 hour to ask for a refill on my husbands prescription which is suppose to auto fill. They answered and I was told to hold a couple more minute's they never came back. Now he has no meds for tommarrow which is a blood thinner for afib not suppose to miss a dose can't go to another pharmacy not good. I guess we will walk in tommarrow and raise a temper fit on them. read more

Walgreens in Eldersburg has been very consistent and reliable for me for several years. I get several prescriptions filled there every couple of months and have *never* had any problems. I do order online ahead of time and pickup via their drive through window. Once in a long while I have to wait an extra day if they're out of one of my meds. But since I reorder before I run out, that's never been an issue. I use their Quick Pay feature when I pickup my meds which charges my credit card. Never have had any issues with that either. I'm not sure what these folks are doing who are complaining about this store, but I'm a long time customer and have no complaints at all. I've used other pharmacies in the area but this one has been the most consistent for me. read more

I booked an appointment for a vaccine. it was easy enough to do online. when I showed up this morning 5 minutes before my appointment, I was told to take a seat. About 20 minutes later, I got checked in and was told to wait again. At the 45 minute mark, I went up to the window to ask if I should re-scheduel the appointment as I had been waiting for 45 minutes for a simple vaccine. The Pharmacy Operations Manager, Margaret, told me "you should always expect to wait 30-45 minutes". I replied "I've been waiting for 45 minutes so will I be getting it now?". Apparently not- the pharmacist then tells me she hasn't even mixed it up yet. I said there is nothing indicating that you will be waiting 45-60 minutes when you book the appointment. The pharmacist's explanation is that she is the only one there. I was also td that if I re-schedule, it will be another hour long wait. Unreal- I will never be getting another appointment here. read more

OK - its been 2 days so i've had time to settle down, but boy am i still really unhappy about my experience at this walgreens. I had an RX that needed to be filled so my Dr called it into my local walgreens. I arrived at the store about 50 mins to an hour later. Went to the pick up window to see if its ready - and am told "Not in our system yet - we have a few voicemails and we'll check that in a few minutes so check back with me then." So i sit and wait. 10 - 15 mins go by and i go ask again... Her response this time? "It's only been 45 mins since we last checked VM, and we only do it once an hour - so you have to wait 15 more minutes." Are you kidding me?!?! You can't check it any sooner????? Her response to that question was a simple UNCARING ... "no." Keep in mind - this rx was for pain medication as i just had a tooth pulled 2 hours prior and it hurt just a little bit! Did i also mention that i had an ice pack held up to my face as i asked her to check on my RX?! At any rate - i had to get some other people involved to get them to actually "break the rules" and check their voicemails... Thankfully one of their voicemails was the one for me so another 15 mins later i'm finally out the door. Come on Walgreens - someone obviously in pain - and you couldn't help until pushed? Not even close to my idea of customer service. read more

I just got released from hospital and the medication was sent to them. When we pulled up the person at window couldn't understand English, then, they claimed they wouldn't fill the rx because a resident of hospital dea number not valid (it was) the pharmacist was so rude and told us we had to leave drive thru they were very busy and had others to wait on. That place is so pathetic. read more

After waiting in line for 40 minutes I was next in line to grab my prescription. They then proceeded to yell all my personal information and tell me my prescription wasn't ready. zero stars but it made me put one in order to post it. My doctor sent prescriptions in early morning and at 9:30 at night they are still not ready. When you call to get an update they just continue to put you on hold, they don't even answer the phone they just pick it up and place you on hold over and over and then they disconnect you to start all over. Beyond frustrating! They always seem very disorganized and when you finally get to speak to someone they are very rude! i finally had to call the store directly to have someone walk back to the pharmacy to get someone on the phone. They then proceeded to tell me my prescription would not be ready till tomorrow. That is unacceptable I've been waiting all day and this was a pain management prescription needed following a surgery I had earlier in the morning. I demanded it be filled this evening and my husband had to sit there until 10 o'clock at night waiting for it..I will be getting a new pharmacy. This place is horrible! read more

Unprofessional staff. They hang up on you, speak to you like you are a drug seeking delinquent. My prescription was two days early to fill, I explained I had a flight leaving to Las Vegas later that day and offered to show her my plane ticket. The pharmacist said she would NOT fill the RX two days early and that I would need to contact my doctors office (it's a Saturday mind you) and have my doctor send my RX to a pharmacy in VEGAS to fill! The pharmacist was speaking to me and about me in the background while on the phone with the rude tech who was unprofessional and frankly unknowledgeable to say the least. When I asked for a manager's name, I was given a first name only and had to pry the last name out of the tech. After getting the first and last name (GWEN EGBEE) it turns out the person she was referring to was the pharmacist running her mouth in the background! I then asked for HER supervisor's name. The tech refused to give me that information and hung up on me. My family will not be doing business at this pharmacy again. Walgreens needs to do better. This is unacceptable. read more

The WORST PHARMACY I've ever been too!!!! Poor Management , Customer service is awful, getting prescriptions filled is always an aggravating nightmare. For example today Is Monday, I checked on the Walgreens app to see if my refill meds had been filled since they were due and I put the request in a few days ago. On the app it said 1 out of 3 meds is delayed bc the pharmacist is still reviewing it m.. I called several times and no answer.. so I go there and the rude lady tells me that the one that is delayed is bc they need the order and it won't be until Thursday. I said wait a new Oder on a refill?? She said no we won't have the medication until Thursday!! I ask if I could transfer to a different Walgreens and she tells me no and I would need to get a new order from the dr.. WTH??? Medication that I need to take on daily basis, I have to basically WAIT all week without it now. All bc you can't keep track of the medications your customers need every month especially when there monthly refills.. so the back up plan for situations like this is to make you pts suffer??? ... I'm totally switching to CVS from now on.. This WALGREENS IN ELDERSBURG really SUCKS!!!! read more

Just came back from Walgreens for the last time. I transferred my prescriptions here because I just moved. Major mistake. The employees are not very efficient and extremely slow but until today they have not been rude. I went to pick up a prescription at the pharmacy and the women working there was EXTREMELY RUDE!!! I went up to the counter and she was on the phone and snapped at me to back up and stand on the white block, speaking to me like I was a misbehaving child. After waiting for a very long time and as the line grew while she talked on the phone finally a nice young man came and waited on me. I will never use this pharmacy again!!! read more

The Pharmacy staff has definitely improved and has been very helpful with all my med needs. There is some good employees there and I'm a tough critic. I'm a regular customer and despite "some"wait times(which is the norm anywhere ) the staff has been great and helped me out with all types of my insurance issues and educated me with the various manufacturers coupons to save money. Definitely recommend the pharmacy especially if you have any challenges with meds, insurance issues and more! read more

Completely incompetent staff. I will never go in there again or buy from Walgreens. Never again. Every time (I'm not exaggerating)...EVERY time I've been in this store there's some kind of confusion between a staff member and a customer that I have to wait to get resolved before anyone will help me. Then I get my own confusion that needs to be resolved. I've been overcharged for things, but the last time this happened it took 15 minutes to get a refund because the clerk didn't know how to do it. I've had to wait 5 or more minutes at an empty front counter for someone to show up to ring out my purchases. The final straw, however, was with the photo processing. I had sworn to myself not to go in there again, but they're one of the only film processing services left in my town. Someone had recommended them to me so I thought I'd give them another chance. When I dropped off film the clerk couldn't tell me the prices because he didn't know and they weren't listed anywhere, but I couldn't imagine they would be as expensive as they turned out to be. However, when I picked up my film, each roll had be processed quite poorly. Of course I discovered this when I got home. I used to work in photo, so I know bad processing when I see it. Either their chemicals were bad or their machines needed to be recalibrated. I made a special trip back to the store and explained the issue first to an employee who had worked in the photo area (he shrugged and did nothing) then to a manager who apologized for the bad prints. She gave me a full refund, which I appreciated greatly, but I returned all the prints. Instead of having them reprinted I asked to have the negatives put on CDs...which no one there knew how to do and had to wait for "the expert" to come in later in the week. Eventually I got a call that they were done. Some weeks later when I had the time to make a trip back in, I picked up the CDs, took them home and found out were BLANK. So now I have six sleeves of negative but no prints to go with them and I have made multiple stops at this store to still end up with nothing. I am beyond frustrated. This place needs to retrain most of their staff in both customer relations and in store operations. I realize retail pays next to nothing and therefore attracts a limited applicant pool, but management surely could do better in hiring competent employees. read more

This pharmacy's drive-thru makes the DMV look like a model of efficiency and customer service. They have 2 lanes, an absurdity because they never have more than one drive-thru person working at a time, and they will not wait on you until they're finished with the other lane anyway - so, what's the point? Furthermore, the clunky shuttle box which is used to carry Rx's to the second lane will often dump your Rx onto the ground when the door pops open. Nice. But the worst aspect is the painfully slow, inefficient customer service. Even if there's just one car in front of you, prepare for a long wait. Any more than one car and you may as well come back later. Even when your Rx is ready, and there are no insurance issues, and there's no co-pay, they can't seem to get you rung up in a timely manner. Part of this inefficiency is because they ask you EVERY TIME if you have a savings club card, and if you do, you need to tell them your phone# - EVERY TIME. You'd think they'd have this linked to your account information, so they wouldn't have to key this in manually every single visit, wasting valuable time. But the last straw for me was yesterday, when I saw there were NO CARS WAITING, for once - and yet when I pulled up to the window, I was ignored for two full minutes, despite the fact there were several employees within visual range. Even a courteous "we'll be with you in a moment" would have been nice, but after being ignored for 2 minutes, I decided that I had had enough with this pharmacy, and left. I'll be filling my prescriptions elsewhere, from now on. read more
