Incompetent pharmacy staff that does not honor appointments and yells at waiting customers. I observed the pharmacist loudly shouting at a customer and asking if she really wanted to pay $235 for 4 pills. The poor woman was so embarrassed and said she really needed the medication. This is hands down, no doubt, the worst Walgreens anywhere. At any time of day there are maybe 2 employees on the floor and 1 at the pharmacy. No management of any kind. Shelves are empty. They are often cash only because their cc processors are down. Basically no one is running this place. Oh and good luck getting your meds. The pharmacy is always out of stock. The pharmacy is the absolute worst. Story after story of horrible customer service. Whenever I tell friends, they regale me with their own awful experiences. Rude, inefficient, prescription mix ups and mistakes, 100% untrained in customer service, poor advice, wrong advice ("you don't need a mask - COVID is over" says a HEALTH CARE worker July 2022). I won't get my COVID booster here after a friend said she came in and the person administering the shot never once looked at her or spoke a word and jammed the needle in so hard my friend is still having arm pain. There is one woman there - Taurine - who is AMAZING. Has interceded with awful co-workers and got out of her way to be helpful and kind. But I have not had a single other good experience. This place comes off as racist! I called in for a job when I was told they were hiring. Called in was on hold for 15 mins the guy gets on all drab and unenthused (I was told he was management when I was transferred over) I say I'm calling in for the job position he says we are not hiring. I say sir I'm online now looking at your exact locations and it says you're hiring for two positions. He tells me flat out No, we are not hiring. With no emotions no further info on when they are, nothing he just was the worst and this is the management. I ended the call with, You know what sir if I'm not wanted to work at this store I don't need to be in that type of environment anyway, Thank you Right now is not the time to play games with work because of a skin color! We are all trying to make it! And if I put forth the effort at the very least you can be professional with how you deal with the public! I had problems with the on-line prescriptions that I entered and my doctor entered. I couldn't deal with it on-line so I tried calling. I waited almost a half an hour in the morning, while listening to repetitive and torturous repeat announcements. After the half hour the line was disconnected. I tried calling back through the store and somehow they connected me to a pharmacy in Florida! They couldn't help me correct the prescription problem. It seems the only way was to try and deal with the completely incompetent customer service at this specific Walgreens. I tried calling back later and was on hold for another 15 minutes, then was interrupted by a message that said the pharmacy staff was at lunch. Walgreens is a completely incompetent company that doesn't seem to care about customer service at all. read more

This Walgreens is a nice store. It's clean (except for the bathroom sometimes). The employees are very helpful and work hard to make sure their customers are taken care of in a courteous manner. Sometimes the customers can be very difficult, but the employees do a good job at trying to appease them. This Walgreens is a favorite for me. read more

I miss the old staff that used to work there. People were friendly and helpful and not annoyed when customer showed up. Now, they just don't care about customer service, helping people or even saying "Hi". Now you have to work for them! They ask you to do their job, carry the baskets ( not only my own but previous customers too) and they don't care if you are pregnant, disabled or not. Get some class or maybe basic training in customer service! Will never be back. read more

Extremely clean and organized Walgreens! This store is always friendly, kind, welcoming, and helpful. Love that their pharmacy is open late and has a drive thru. Additionally, I ALWAYS print photos with them! They always have a really good coupon code for photo printing and usually have them done within an hour. Double check it you're ordering a photo gift though, because it's possible they don't carry it at this Walgreens and you'll have to go to the one near Howard. This store also has really good snacks. I just recently purchased a bag of jalapeno cashews (Walgreens brand), and they were SO good! Unfortunately they sold out and I don't know when they're getting them back. I used to live right around the corner from this Walgreens so it was my normal stopping grounds for everyday necessities. It's a very clean store and the staff is quite friendly. The "green" stuff is great, but I'm not sure that it has really affected the consumer much. It's a convenience store, so prices are higher than you would see at most grocery stores. It seems that they have more selection than they used to but in the year it took to build, I have forgotten what the selection was like in the old one. Beer/alcohol selection is better than I would have expected. Sadly I won't come to this one much anymore since I moved across town. Womp. read more

What an upgrade! The new net-zero store is such a thing of beauty. The old place looked like a drug store, but this reincarnation is so sleek. They've added more parking to the lot, and have a few chargers for your electric car right by the front entrance. The refrigerated space is much larger, and the airy and bright shopping experience is far more pleasant than it was before. Still a few organization kinks to iron out as they opening just recently, but once things are running smoothly, I think the neighbors will love having this store here. read more

When I first began to use their pharmacy service (since the rebuilding) I would have originally given it one star. The pharmacists were indifferent, unfriendly, and borderline hostile. If there was an issue with a prescription, I wouldn't find out about it until pickup. No apologies and never a smile. Since then, the head pharmacist (Ted) has single handedly changed my opinion of the pharmacy department at that location going above and beyond to keep me informed. However, when it comes to the front checkout, I have never experienced such inefficient and slow service. Typically, the line is 10 people deep. While the cashier is very friendly, it may take an hour just to get to her. read more

Geothermal heating! Wind turbines! Electric-car chargers! Very cool to have this model green outlet so close by--but its inside stock doesn't live up to the exterior promise. Too much shelf space devoted to candy and such, when I'd rather see more meal-worthy groceries, useful sundries and maybe some more upscale grooming-type things. But on the plus side, they carry booze, which in dryish Evanston can never be assumed of a Walgreens. They have also sort of improved the parking flow by adding a couple of driveways, but still, the parking is sometimes tight. read more

This is my local everything store located in a small mall in the neighborhood. The reason I felt it worthwhile of a review is because the customer service here is surprisingly good for a Walgreens. In particular, I have always had helpful interactions with staff at the back of the store in the photography section. First, they have always been very accommodating regarding photo orders. Additionally, they can take care of other matters there and have been helpful in other domains as well (such as dealing with an expired drink and finding something suitable to replace it). I usually find such stores to be mediocre at best and tend to go to them only with last-minute emergencies. However, this store is pleasant enough with a helpful staff that I've started going there more regularly for basic food and drink items as well. read more

Eco-friendly location which I love. The merchandise is normally Fully stocked. My only gripe is it must be written on my forehead that employees gotta gripe. I didn't even complain about the wait to check out but that didn't stop the sitting employee from complaining that her manager didn't staff enough employees for a Saturday. This location is redone a very nice, but for some reason there is always a 10 person line at checkout and one cashier. They can't seem to get their staffing together, which is a shame for such a pretty store. read more

After sitting for a half hour waiting, I was told they didn't have what I needed and that they'd transfer it over to a Walgreens near by that does have it. Go to pick up my script at the other Walgreens on Peterson to find out none of my info or the script was transferred over and they didn't have what I needed either. This is the most incompetent pharmacy I've ever used. Every time I show up to pick up a prescription, there's an issue such as "the insurance didn't go through" or the "we're out of stock on that and assumed you could wait until tomorrow at 2pm" (umm, no, not when it's a rescue inhaler for asthma). The kicker was when I filled an antibiotic prescription for my child here. They never mentioned that it needed to be refrigerated. You'd think this would be an important piece of information since most medications are not refrigerated. Yes, the information sheet, written in 8 point font, did say to refrigerate it - somewhere in the 11th paragraph. Can't they spring for some orange stickers that say "Refrigerate" on them? I am so angry that I've been giving my kid ineffective medication for the past 4 days. I will never, ever fill another prescription here again. read more

i have been a loyal customer of this Walgreens since it opened. Always get my prescriptions there. It's close. I love it. It's fabulous and if I want, I can even just drive through. My doctors knows where to send my prescriptions--all that. Love it. Until recently. I need a refill. Online they say they will have to call my doctor. They never do. But they didn't last time either. This is new. So I call my doctor to call them. Literally my doctor calls them speaking with Mohammed once, Kim once, and some third person once. They blow my doctor off. They blow me off when I call and say they haven't heard from my doctor. I call my doctor again this morning and he calls and Speaks with Kim again, and today I have finally gotten my prescription. It's wonderful that this place is so green, but it has the worst customer service ever! Takes forever to check out. The lady that sits on her behind at the counter moves terribly slow. I wait longer than necessary every time. And their bathroom is beyond unsanitary!! It is totally disgusting every time I use it. You would think a business that promotes good health would clean their bathrooms at least once a week. Dirty toilets, toilet paper & used feminine products all over the floor, and no soap and paper towels the last 3 times I've been in there. So gross!!! read more

I came here the first time to check out the building design, but I keep coming back because the staff is warm and friendly. Sometimes it is busy, but the employees are helpful and significantly better than other stores I have frequented. I was there on an extremely hot day in the summer and the store was only a little warm. Impressive! read more
