This Walgreens feels very old and dingy. The store looks worn down, with outdated fixtures and a general lack of upkeep that makes it feel uninviting. The aisles were cluttered, the lighting was dull, and the overall cleanliness left a lot to be desired. For a chain this large, and in West LA, I expected a much better-maintained location. It's fine in a pinch, but definitely not a pleasant shopping experience. A renovation and better attention to cleanliness would go a long way. read more

This shout out is for Jeffery at the 8770 W Pico location at 5:15pm on June 27 2025. He is a 5 star employee as it seems this place is understaffed and he is the only person running around managing things here. He's at the front register taking care of 10+ customers, running to the back to help a customer find something and then coming to the photo section to help us out. And I completely understand that he had to leave us to take care of the register again. But after 10 minutes of waiting Bianca (Shift Lead) shows up with an attitude and the unwillingness to help us with our photo order. Claiming she doesn't know how to fulfill our order. Her only options were to cancel the order or wait for another day for someone else to do it. Unfortunately I have to be back tomorrow and hope my order is complete. read more

Management at this location is terrible. I had to purchase gift cards for my team at work. The cashier tells me gift cards aren't returnable, and asks if I want him to open them to see if there are scratches, explaining there's been fraud. I said yes please, if that's how to check. Fella proceeds to tear the holder to pieces, so watching in horror I stop him from doing the same thing to the rest. Later at home I find out he's bent the actual card itself. I can't give this as a gift. I call, am placed on a few minutes' hold, then the line starts ringing again and nobody picks up. I walk back, I'm close by. The acting supervisor does not help, cuts me off and sarcastically goes "We're sorry!" As though I've put her through something. I'll try calling again tomorrow but I don't have much hope. If you need anything besides simple consumables, please do yourself a favor, drive an extra few minutes and go anywhere else. read more

Absolutely horrific pharmacy. I receive alerts that my medication is ready only to be told on arrival that it hasn't been filled. I'll show my confirmation texts and emails and the staff shrugs and says "take it up with corporate. We don't control the alerts." The pharmacy staff is rude and has lied on more than one occasion. This Walgreen's location is under new management and sadly has gone downhill. Driving up into the parking lot I spotted graffiti on the wall, something I've never seen before at this location after shopping here for many years. It gave me pause. I came to this location because I wanted some paper towels and I was unable to get them delivered when shopping online as they were only available in store. I also needed an over the counter medication and I didn't have time to wait for it to come in the mail. I planned to do a large shopping trip since I was already at the store and it was convenient. When I walked in, I noticed there were absolutely no shopping carts. I asked an associate if they could get me a cart and they told me there were none. They didn't have any in the store and there were also none in the parking lot. They told me that the homeless take the shopping carts and that corporate isn't giving them any more. However, there have always been homeless outside of this location AND also shopping carts available so I don't think that's the only issue here. How about getting those carts that lock if you try to leave the premises with them? Not supplying your customers with something to put their stuff in while they shop is not the answer. It encourages less shopping which, in my humble opinion, is not something any store should ever encourage. I had no room in my arms to pick up anything else but the two double roll paper towel packs. My shopping partner had two as well. They were too big to fit into those tiny carry around baskets. I asked the associate if we could leave them up at the check out desk and she said "yes" so we ended up doing that. I noticed that behind the front desk were a lot of shopping bags with names of customers on them. This is something I never saw pre-pandemic. I'm guessing more and more customers are choosing to buy online and pick up in store which is definitely a wise decision here since there are no shopping carts anyways. Let Walgreens do the packing! After picking up my over the counter medication I decided it may be wise to consult a pharmacist. However, I noticed the pharmacy was closed. I was surprised that the pharmacy would close so early at a 24 hour store. It was a weekend around 7pm. I found out the pharmacy is only open on the weekends until 6pm which, again, in my humble opinion, is way too early. I do not use this pharmacy so I can only comment on the hours and not the service but I will say that the big box pharmacies I have frequented have much better hours. Another customer also needed someone to help him in the over-the-counter aisle and was frustrated that he had to wait so long to get any assistance. If there was another associate or even a pharmacist available they may have been able to assist him with his needs. I only encountered two employees on my trip to this Walgreens. One was a cashier at checkout and the other a supervisor and although this Walgreens is understaffed, these two employees deserve five stars for their patience and customer service and doing their best despite the poor choices that management or corporate have made. They are the reason this place garnered a second star instead of only one. The cashier was patient and kind and handled the long line single-handedly even though there were three other check out stands with no cashiers. He was quick and efficient and had a smile on his face the entire time. Despite the line, he made us, the customer in front of him, feel important. The supervisor on duty sympathized with our shopping basket dilemma and actually waited for us to check out and walked our bags to our car with us. She went above and beyond for customer service. She is amazing! Download the Walgreens apps for savings and coupons. Also, you might want to save one cheaper item at check out as oftentimes you get coupons for another item but its for a limited time and only valid in store. I got a $5 coupon at checkout and, luckily, the paper towels were near by so I got one more as I am not planning to come back to this location anytime soon. read more

This is NOT a pharmacy... This is a convenience store with a Rx medicine side hustle. One of the worst pharmacies. Takes hours to get your meds even when they are "ready". Issues always seem to come up where they have "re-bill" that means waiting because you get kicked to the back of the line. The staff is petty and belligerent and slower then the love child of the Post Office and The DMV. PLus while I want waiting for almost hour I could hear that almost every other customer was being told they where being short filled on their Rx. If you are not filling in emergency on weekend consider the numerous better non chain pharmacies that all over this zip code, like Hepps, La Jolla-Wilshire, etc. And this is just for filling mundane staff... if you read the other reviews if you have to fill anything like pain meds or ADHD expect to be treated even worse. read more

Absolutely the WORST pharmacy experience I've ever had -- hands down. The wait times are beyond ridiculous. You stand there forever, and just when you think it's finally your turn, they screw something up. And instead of taking responsibility and fixing it on the spot, they push you aside and make you wait EVEN LONGER. This is my second time back today for the same medication, and now they're telling me it'll be another hour?! Are you kidding me?! This pharmacy literally cannot accomplish the most basic pharmacy tasks, and instead, make everything more difficult. Things they've done in the past year. 1. Schedule vaccines outside of business hours, for vaccines they don't have (more the app/corporate than this store). Then they sent me to other Walgreens who also couldn't help. 2. Tell my insurance Co. that I have a different insurance plan (not true), triggering my insurance company to stop payment of benefits for months to all doctors because they didn't know how to coordinate benefits with this non-existent alt. healthcare, 3. Call my primary pharmacy to trigger the transfer of a prescription, then never actually order the medication, leaving me with no medication during a shortage. If you like waiting forever, in a dirty store, with flickering fluorescent lights, only to be told in a surly manner that everything is your fault, you're going to love this place. Otherwise, spend up to an hour in LA traffic to go anywhere else. read more

So, this wouldn't be a normal place we would probably pick to hang out on vacation, but in this case we were thankful to have this Walgreens so close to our hotel. Traveling with a couple teens, this place came in handy a few times. This was within walking distance from where we were staying. Our hotel had a fridge, so we made a couple stops here to grab drinks so we could have them on hand. Store itself was nice, really clean and the staff were friendly when we interacted with them - typically only at check out. Store has the same look and feel of most other Walgreens that I've been in before, so it was easy to find what we were looking for. Also, really cool .... when it was later at night the cooler area transitioned to a digital screen. The screen showed you what stock was available behind the door. Really cool! No oversight in customer service. Would not help with barcode and told to pay again. Told I was rude. Told "good for me" when I found the barcode. Reggie extremely aggressive again. Look, they have two stars stars it's not like anyone thinks they're getting normal service when they go here. But this one was particularly bad. Tell you say... I was talking to the man behind the counter at the FastPass Window, when someone came up to another window and yelled for him. He stopped mid-sentence to start talking to his friend. So I tapped the window. Then he tapped the window. He also told me I was being extremely rude. This is coming from someone who just stopped talking mid-sentence. I asked him to continue helping me. I then asked him if he would please help me with the barcode. I was shaking at this point. He said it's my phone he won't help me. So I said, can we look it up under my name? He told me I would have to pay again if I could not find the barcode. I find this very very hard to believe. (Farnoz is still the manager here and I already know she doesn't care how people are treated so there's no point in telling her.) I feel like it cannot be legal to tell someone they have to pay again if they can't find a barcode on their phone. ( Maybe Reggie is pocketing the money somehow.) Anyway, they all heard him tell me I would have to pay again and no one stepped in to help. I am in my late 50s. I'm sorry if technology takes me a minute. The thing is at Walgreens, It's not like anyone cares how we're being treated. Usually I have a great time there. I know the regular - staff this is their evening staff. It's the same manager they've always had she doesn't really care how people are treated. I can call and complain, but I mean people have been complaining to her for years. His name is Reggie. At first he would not tell me his name - there were two women standing next to him this entire time, one who said it was her first day. Another woman (Elizabeth) said it was a HIPAA violation for her to tell me I said, well, "he's ignoring me now" what do you think I should do? I also said it was shameful that they would just stand there and let me be treated like this. I'm an older lady and clearly he's very comfortable talking to women like this. I have had another experience here with the same employee. I think that he clearly hates women. We only go here because it's convenient and it's opened really late. Otherwise no one would be shopping at Walgreens. I mean just getting through the garbage on the floor, constant begging in the parking lot, outright hostility from workers. It's not anyone's first choice for shopping. I don't really think anyone who is good at their job is working at Walgreens , no offense if you work at Walgreens but I mean, come on, wouldn't you rather work somewhere else? Simply the slowest pharmacy in town. The staff is very nice that's why 2 stars but don't make an appointment here unless you have an extra hour to kill. The store prices are also insane. Vitamins are 3x what they cost online at other stores. Protein chips are $4.79 a bag. I pay $1.70 on Amazon. My product fell on the floor and instead of offering help or being patient for just a second she kept saying are you ready with a tone when she sees me picking up my stuff on the floor. She needs to be taught compassion because she has none. Juanita my advice to her is to have compassion to people as she would like compassion to be given to her. I hope management speaks with her because this type of image for Walgreens is unacceptable. They are making mistakes with refills and need to be checked carefully. Last time I was here, the made me wait to a pharmacist for 15 min just so he can ask me if I have any question. Incomplete curbside pickup orders Confusing parking Apathetic management mocks you instead of helping COVID NIGHTMARE A LA CURBSIDE: This store has a LONNNNNGGGGG way to go when it comes to getting their act together in terms of Covid considerations. I attempted to do an online order for "curbside" pickup. BIG MISTAKE! This concept only works if this store has accurate inventory on their products and the employees care about their customer service. My order was incomplete and the drive-up experience was such a hassle. The texts I received about my order did not match what I actually got in the bag. DRIVE-UP DRAMA: There's only two curbside pickup spots located in a one-way lane in this store's parking lot and the signs are tilted away from you if you drive in using the second, easier to access driveway. I was scolded by an employee for not parking in one of them after I had entered from a different driveway and the spots weren't visible from that entry point (I was staged near the entrance of the store with my hazards on with plenty of room for traffic to pass my vehicle). SALE PRICE WASN'T HONORED: The icing on the cake was that I was required to buy two items to get the sale price that was being promoted on the app and they only had one in stock - I was given one full-priced item in a sealed bag and the only way to fix this issue after the fact was to physically go into the store for a refund and re-order the two items online. What exactly was the point of doing this "safe" curbside order, again? :-/ INCOMPETENT MANAGEMENT: When I came back in to request a refund, I had to listen to Darwin and his supervisor, Victoria, joke around about "customer service" in imitation style high-pitched voices for a good 2 minutes before even being addressed. It sounded like they were making fun of a customer. Victoria was leaning on the counter and chatting with Darwin while he continued to ignore me, so I thought she was a customer at first until I realized she was wearing a Walgreens shirt. Ironically, Darwin was the same dude who scolded me for not finding the ridiculously obscure curbside parking when he brought me my incomplete order. When I attempted to bring up the confusing lack of signage for curbside pickups, he started lecturing me about how he doesn't need "any sass" from me and how I shouldn't be entering the parking lot "illegally" while referencing some random alleyway that I've never even heard of. Yesterday I went to my scheduled appointment for a Covid booster and Flu vaccine. I had filled out the questionaire on line when I made the appointment. I arrived several minutes early. I stood in line for more than 25 minutes even though there were only 3 people ahead of me. They told me that I would have to fill out the questionaire on my phone even though I had done so on line.The woman in front of me was there at least 20 minutes and at her turn was told she would not have an vaccine because she was a walk-in. The site encourages walk-ins. They have flyers in the front of the store touting service to walk-ins? When I got to the front they told me I was next and I should wait in a chair. Almost 20 minutes later I was called to the cubicle for my vaccine. The person giving it asked me THE SAME QUESTIONS I HAD ANSWERED ON LINE AND AT THE STORE 20 minutes ago!! He asked if I wanted both injections in the same arm. I said I wanted one in each arm. He gave me both in the same arm. All the time this was going on both the pharmacist and the ?nurse? who gave the injections were glued to electronic tablets. Apparently, the only important job for them was data entry, not patients. If you're going there, my advice is bring 30 minutes of work product to keep you busy, don't fill out any questionaire as they will not read your answers but will ask you again at least twice. read more

Some very unfriendly Hispanic chick yelled at me while I was in the stall using the restroom because I washed my hands and left the water running while I went to the restroom. They didn't have paper towel and I didn't want to touch the fauceT knob after washing mY hands. That would've been backwards. Plus I really needed to go. In the middle of me urinating she started scolding me about her opinion of me leaving the water runnIng while I used it. She never asked if I was okay or why. This occurred between 9:10am-9:15am Feb. 6th Out of ALL of my years being a Walgreens customer I've never met such unprofessional, unfriendly people. It seems the online pick up at store for Walgreens is always misleading. At this location, email specifically states to go to the photo counter. The guy that was at the counter, not busy btw, asks what I need. I tell him I need to pick up an online order. He tells me to go to the front where, of course, there's a line of about 10-12 people. He could have easily grabbed it for me but hey, it's not Nordstrom. Walgreens, please fix your email instructions or at the very least place clear signs in the store because even the photo center here STILL has a pick up sign. read more

This is not a functional business anymore. Almost everything is locked up and you have to wait at least 5 minutes for an employee to unlock it for you. Then they keep it up front where the cashier has to dig around to find it so you can actually buy it. The entire store is constantly filled with customer help notifications. It's just a madhouse. I understand theft is an issue but get a security guard. Whoever made these decisions in corporate probably solidified Walgreens final downfall. read more

My shoulder has not been the same since I got my covid-19 booster shot at the pharmacy here on the evening of November 22, 2021. I don't think the guy at the pharmacy who vaccinated me knew where on my arm he was supposed to vaccinate me. It felt too high up and deep. When I woke up the next morning my shoulder was in excruciating pain. This wasn't the usual soreness I sometimes have gotten after receiving a vaccine. I literally could not move my arm for a few days. My range of motion gradually started coming back and the pain started to fade in the following weeks, but my shoulder is still not 100% back to normal despite 3 months having passed. The pain hasn't disappeared completely and because of it I still have to avoid certain normal movements I used to be able to make. It's been the most mentally anguishing 3 months for me not knowing what's going to happen to my shoulder. I went to see my doctor and also had to start physical therapy. I've been diagnosed with chronic shoulder pain for the first time in my life and my doctor told me she believes I have an injury in my shoulder. I've been doing a lot of research on shoulder injury related to getting a vaccine shot, and such a thing can happen. It's called shoulder injury related to vaccine administration (SIRVA). I have no doubt that what happened to my shoulder is related to how the vaccine was administered as I was not having any shoulder issues prior to that night. I would not wish this experience on anyone. Never again will I be coming here for a vaccination. This experience taught me that you shouldn't just get a vaccination from anyone out of desperation to get vaccinated. Make sure you confirm that it's an experienced medical professional. Also have them confirm before they inject you where exactly on your arm they will do it. Make sure they inject you in the middle part of the deltoid muscle, not the shoulder. read more

Pharmacy sucks! Says they're supposed to be back at 2pm & they're behind the screen taking their time & delayed another 15 min while there's a line waiting. Starts with 2 people behind the counter than one person goes away for no reason when there are still people waiting. Just not way to help people. This should not be like a DMV when they have 4 people back there! Will not come back to this Pharmacy or Walgreens. I have no need ever to use their Pharmacy & same applies about photo service (although I'll make sure not to refer my daughter the photographer there) therefore I have no issues with them as others have. That alone kills an experience. I like that this one seems to have more items than the ones in my neighborhood & ones I've been to all around. It's always busy and there's always a line, but times I've gone it moves fast. The thing I also like is the obvious- the neighborhood it's in - predominantly Orthodox Jewish Population & coming from an area mostly Mexican-American, it's still new to me. I was born in East LA bordering Boyle Heights, I always remember my mother mention the culture of the Community "back in her day" as well from my former bosses and since Old Boyle Heights Jewish culture is long gone, unless I travel to this area, I would never see or be exposed to it. It's wonderful & beautiful to me, giving me a little piece of schooling, appreciation and thankfulness. I love the environment, just feels to me what it would've had I grown up in my mother's era in Boyle Heights where it once existed. And also, you do see a melting pot of people! Not only ethnicity's but from all walks of life, I dig it!! So you get to soak in the diversity this Walgreens has to offer:) Ok, drifting once again into story telling LOL. I may not know about much, but my emotions speak louder, I like this Walgreens for the minor needs I have and I'm usually on foot or bus the area because I'm weird like that & too scared to drive Westside. So I can't give you the parking aspect, but it appears to be doable. read more
