I'd like to believe at one point this place actually was as "wholesome" and about wellness as it's marketing and yesterday year Rep. Had a horrible experience with their "homeopathic specialist" - a woman who on each of my three calls with her, made it clear that she was above working in a store as she had her own practice, and actually got impatient with me for doing her job. At one point on the second call with her, she lamented that she was "the only one in the store". On another occasion, this employee, Jessica, got so frazzled that she actually had the audacity to blame a customer for "stressing her out" and was even ruder. Left for for the owner, who a Russian speaking pharmacist assured me would call back as he "deeply cares". But I already knew I would never hear from him. Any owner willing to employ such a toxic employee when she's got other negative reviews clearly doesn't give a crap. The other store in Sherman Oaks, unfortunately employees a "manager" by the name of Kevin, who has been also dismissive and uncaring on several occasions, and also has several negative reviews. There's a homeopathic specialty store that a lot of A-list celebrities use in Santa Monica, highly recommend you call them as they're very happy to ship ground and we'll spend as much time as you need on the phone while sounding appreciative of you as a customer and respect you as a human being. Drugs is an awful institution, both locations are toxic. If you can, I would avoid it all costs. read more

I have used this pharmacy for over 15 years. This used to have a "neighborhood" friendly atmosphere. It no longer has that feel, the staff can be extremely rude. I have had many mistakes and worst, promised Rx and meds on 5 different occasions did not arrive as promise. This happened more than once, not only did effect my health but caused my PCP, Infectious Disease Team and UCLA infusion center to get involved to mitigate their mistakes. Finally, today, they made another mistake, yelled at me, the staff and patrons all went silent and accused me of picking up meds already... would not listen to me, kept telling me to stop talking... 15 mins later, another pharmacists came out, had found the "short" order, I was told I had already picked up and blamed it on "insurance." Frank and Fred, who both were angry and accusatory, went silent and moved away from the counter and no apology. I transferred all my 10 medications to CVS down the street. Not sure what has happened to their moral but it's not the same... again, I had been a loyal customer for over a decade. My advise, is they are highest priced pharmacy in the neighborhood, with CVS, Pavillions and others within walking distance you'll be treated with respect, have medications on time, won't be playing "moody" roulette and the convince of chains open longer hours and 7 days a week. Walk on by... and what a shame they have ruined their own reputation... of a handful of friends who used to be patrons, I was the last hold out, would defend their, at times, unprofessional behavior and willing to pay a bit more, no more. read more

I have a prescription filled by another pharmacy who switched manufacturers. I called Capitol Drugs to see if they could order the medication from the old manufacturer. Since I had nothing filled with them in a while they said they are NOT taking on new patients. I don't even know what to make of that. Last time I tried to have an RX filled with them they said only if I transferred all my other prescriptions to their pharmacy. Is this a pharmacy or a secret club? read more

This small pharmacy outperforms large chains (Pavilion's, Walgreens) and local area specialty pharmacies. I went in to pick up a prescription for a medication that Walgreen's couldn't obtain in over a month of waiting. I went on a Friday morning before a long international trip the following day. They didn't have the medication but the pharmacist offered that they would do their best to have it by the afternoon. Less than 6 hours later they called me to say it was ready for pickup. Wow. That is extraordinary service. Did they have to go to that much trouble? Certainly their competitors don't appear to think so. I will refer everyone I know. read more

I've always used pharmacy's like Rite Aid and CVS and just thought long lines and impersonal service were normal. I was complaining to my mother the other evening about how terrible CVS is and how I dread going in there to fill prescriptions and she said the magic words.. "Why don't you use a small neighborhood pharmacy?" Sometimes mothers know best, and this simple question made me think, does such a thing exist here in Weho? Well let me tell you it does! I cant believe the difference here. It's like being transported back in time to a place where people are friendly and actually care about my health and well being! The pharmacist actually introduced himself to me. I was shocked at how cool and comforting this was. They also take my insurance and everything works like CVS or Rite Aid except for the fact that the people who work here aren't miserable and have a smile on there face. If you park in the garage of the shopping center they are in, they will validate and your first 30 minutes are free. So if you need your aspirin, vitamins, Purell hand sanitizer, herbal remedies or flower essences, you can park for free. The place is clean, neat and organized. There's a helpful pharmaceutical staff in the back. Next door they have some sports nutrition store. Think of it as a GNC for athletes. Didn't get to look around there, but you can use your free 30-minute parking to check it out yourself :) read more

I've lived in W. Hollywood for over 30 years and have used this pharmacy on & off for prescriptions and supplements (as my insurance and prices would allow -- I'm on disability, so price is a huge consideration.) Recently, I even began using their online supplement store, Fullscript. (They still haven't built their own website after promising it for years, which is rather pathetic for any business in the 21st century.) But I do like supporting small neighborhood businesses whenever possible. However, a recent incident w/them has convinced me to NEVER use them or Fullscript ever again! I wasn't aware until recently that if your pet is prescribed human medication that you can use the GoodRx app to get the price down. I just assumed that Capitol Drugs would honor this. I was in a really desperate time crunch to get my very sick cat's new meds, pick her up from the vet, and keep her on a dosing schedule. The 1st very kind pharmacist w/whom I spoke (Russell, I think?) said my vet hadn't called in the Rx yet, but when they did so, IF the price was too high, Cap. Drugs would "gladly transfer" it to another pharmacy. When I called the 2nd time, a different pharmacist (no name given) said my vet had called in the 2 Rxs, but REFUSED to quote me the prices over the phone saying he'd only know the price *after* he filled it -- which is an utter lie! When I went to pick up the meds I found out that they didn't honor GoodRx and the total price of the 2 meds was substantially higher (exactly $29.99 I later found out) than the prices my vet had found on GoodRx. I was already upset about my cat, so I had two choices at this moment: refuse the meds and wait for them to transfer to Walgreens or CVS, or have my vet call them in again to another pharmacy. Both involved waiting perhaps hours or a day more to get my cat on these much-needed meds. Even worse, any pharmacist would know that a cat on these meds was in dire shape, so they played upon my desperation to pay the higher price -- which I find to be despicable. Of course I chose to pick up the meds that day, and thought hey! This is my old neighborhood pharmacy -- surely they'll make it right later, right? WRONG! A few days later I called and spoke to Frank, the pharmacy mgr. He apologized for the pharmacist who refused to give me prices over the phone (knowing that I would've gone elsewhere) and said, "He would talk to this staff." Not good enough! When I asked to get, perhaps, a store credit for the $30 bucks I overpaid, explaining my long tenure there as a customer, etc., he actually got upset with me!! Wha?? I told him he'd just lost a 35-year customer. He was unmoved and unconcerned and totally callous. I even tried to reach the store owner, Raj, few days later. I left my name and #. NEVER heard back! The owner obviously didn't care either that they'd lost a decades-long customer! Something has clearly gone off the rails w/this formerly friendly and caring neighborhood pharmacy. I hate how this neighborhood has changed. I hate that Capitol Drugs didn't give a crap about me or my sick cat, and that the Almighty Buck is their biggest concern now! What a damned shame! PS: FYI, pet owners: GoodRx is *ONLY* honored at the big chain pharmacies. I transferred my cat's Rxs for refills to the Hollywood Walgreens and they even found me an add'l coupon, hearing how I'd been ripped off by Capitol Drugs... I will go where I'm treated decently and fairly, and where the pharmacists still have their integrity intact. Clearly this is no longer Capitol Drugs. They won't get one more dime out of me, so pretty stupid to alienate old, loyal customers, no? read more

I've always liked this place. It's within walking distance of my home, the lines at the pharmacy are usually short and the people that work 'in the front' are knowledgeable about the supplements. But recently, I'm liking this place, less and less. Each time I refill the one prescription I have there, it's delivered to me with a childproof cap. I don't have kids living with me and find the cap difficult to remove and have asked that they don't give me that cap. The clerk always says: "We can put those instructions in your file" and I say "Great" and then, next time, it's the same deal: child-proof cap. (When I call in to do the refill, I now leave a message saying: "Please remember: regular cap, please" but when my doctor renews the prescription each year, his office, of course, does not offer that reminder). I know this is a small thing but it just keeps happening. I picked up a prescription yesterday and it looks as if they've put up some plexiglas in view of the pandemic. As such, it's difficult (If not impossible) for a customer to reach the credit card device to put in his/her password. You have to reach through a slot in the plexiglas and 'around a corner' to reach the keypad and then everyone can see you as you put in your code. The same is true for acknowledging receipt for the meds; the clerk simply asked: "Is it okay if I sign for you that you received it?" I cannot believe that they couldn't find a handiman to cut a slot in the plexiglas in order to make the credit card keypad easier to reach. Lastly, the clerk was wearing his mask in a haphazard manner -- not really 'over his nose' and one of the pharmacists had his mask completed pulled down so his nose was exposed. He is 'up close' to dozens and dozens of prescriptions, each day, breathing right onto the pills. While he may be healthy (and maybe the pharmacy checks their employees temperatures each day, for example?), it doesn't LOOK SAFE to have the staff presenting themselves this way. Maybe Capitol Drugs should think more about the customers needs. I'm going to hang in there a while longer and if things don't get better, I'm going to move my business elsewhere. read more
