Initially I had a pretty poor experience with one of the staff here back at the pharmacy desk. I had a reservation for a COVID-19 test in order to travel to Hawaii. While I did receive the initial email from Walgreen's showing the reservation, I never received the follow-up email with the code that permits you to actually get the test. I explained this to the young lady at the desk, and she scolded me for being in the store if coming in for a COVID test. I explained I was symptom free and had to take this test only for travel reasons. She was not helpful at all and simply said, "no code, no test". She stuck by this even after I showed her my reservation email from Walgreens. Being that we live over two hours away I was not pleased, to say the least. I asked to speak with the manager and James came out to discuss this with me. He was super helpful in resolving this and after checking in the computer, was able to verify I was indeed scheduled for the test, and personally ensured the test went smoothly. He also ensured my wife (also scheduled to test) did not have any issues. So poor start, but good conclusion. read more

Overpay elsewhere. I arrived around noon to pick up some sinus stuff. I waited in line for 4 minutes before the gal that was doing photos came over to help me. I said it's $17.99 here and on the website it's $13.99. And online only sale for $11.99. I asked them to price match the website price ($13.99) the gal calls her manager and I dared to speak to her and she said "can you please stop talking I have my manager in my ear" (rude much) The manager Tracy comes over and says she can't help. I said so you won't price match your OWN website. Why it's $5 more in store is beyond me but whatever. I asked for the name of the manager and her name and said I'd be contacting James because their customer service was horrible. Lady legit yelled at me as I was walking out the door. All of a sudden she was "going to help me" I said no you aren't you got called out in front of customers who also heard the Interaction and walked out behind me. I drove over to Safeway and guess what. Same toying was on sale for $6.99 there. read more

The prescription peeps in the back are fine, but don't interact with any of the stockers. I was talked down to because I didnt know where the Q-Tips were, shame on me for asking. Service overall has been varied over the years, but that stocker scenario was it, I havnt been back. This is a large Walgreens. We came in for cards and personal care items. It's laid out a bit differently than our local Walgreens, but signs overhead direct you. They had plenty of cards and we found what we wanted so it was a quick in and out trip. Check out was quick and we didn't need a bag, but they asked, so I suspect there is a fee in this area for shoppin bag? Prices are in line with those expected in this area. I called the Maple Valley (MV) Walgreens intending to see if I could transfer my diabetic sister's prescription for blood sugar monitors that had been ready for pickup at the Federal Way store. I live in MV and wanted to avoid the half hour drive there each way. This prescription had been approved for 0 copay by my sister's prior insurance before she moved out of state. She moved and subsequently had different insurance coverage. She asked me pick it up to mail it to her. I emphasized to the pharmacist at MV Walgreens that I was consenting to transfer the prescription to the MV Walgreens ONLY IF she could ascertain that the 0 copay would not change. She proceeded to take relevant information as she began to work on the transfer and then told me she could not be sure the copay would not change. At this point, I told her to LEAVE IT ALONE, preferring to drive to Federal Way. I call Federal Way Walgreens. They state the script had been transferred by MV and now it will be $563 to have it filled (due to my sisters new insurance), regardless if picked up at MV or Federal way. They transferred this despite my explicit instruction not to if they could not be certain the copay would not change. I spoke to many of their staff, none offered to make this right. They hindered me from speaking with anyone in any authority to resolve this issue either. A lot of different ways to say "unfortunately we cant do anything, talk to insurance." I dont see how "fortune" played any part in transferring her prescription. $563 dollars is not an amount we can easily afford. We are not well to-do. Now my diabetic sister has no blood sugar monitors! - because of MV Walgreens' actions that I did not authorize. It would outrage you if any healthcare provider (doctor, surgeon, etc.) went through with a procedure even when you withdrew consent prior to its start. That would be malpractice. The MV Walgreens pharmacist transferred the prescription after I WITHDREW CONSENT right when she informed me she could not ascertain a condition that I emphasized was critically required for her to continue. What would you call that? In my view, MV Walgreens does not see how they are wrong after what they did. Because of that they have no intent of making it right. Any competent healthcare provider will tell you blood sugar monitors are a crucial component in the management of diabetes. Left unmanaged, it leads to retina damage, kidney damage and lifelong dialysis, strokes, nerve damage, wounds that don't heal, infections that lead to limb amputation. Their action jeopardized my sister's health. read more

I attempted to print some photos of myself and my wife. The manager, Eric, refused to deliver the photos due to him finding them "indecent". When I questioned this, he showed me the photo of my completely clothed wife kneeling on our bed. I scoffed, and he stated, "there was also liquor." This is a review of Walgreens pharmacy only at this maple valley location. The employees here seem pretty rude. They almost always talk down to you except maybe one of them. The pharmacist seems ok but the employees are not very kind or patient with their customers. It's especially distressing when you are not feeling well. The Walgreens online app as a whole is a joke. No use trying to schedule vaccination appointments online because it won't show up on their system. Also the paperwork you sign online is useless since you end up having to fill this out again in person. This I've experienced with multiple Walgreens locations. Also there is no way to track what vaccines you've scheduled in the past within the app. App automatically refills medications and no easy or obvious way to cancel it. read more

This is for the pharmacy only- absolutely worst customer service and care. One experience about 2 months ago- they told me my prescription was ready for PU. Then I get there and they ask for another 15 minutes. No problem- I run my errands come back 45 minutes later & then they said it's not ready another 45 minutes. I'm now irritated but ok.. go home for about 2 hours to work. Come back again & then the actual pharmacist comes to speak to me and says they need another 72 because my prescription is not even ordered!! It's back ordered and they don't even have it in the building. Why the F did the other people keep telling me 15 minutes? There's absolutely no communication. What pushed me over the edge was even today, I am going on a trip and did my due diligence to call in a week in advance for my refill due being on vacation when I will run out of my medication. I called multiple times and discussed with the pharmacist and 2 reps. To get to today- day before I leave when I am supposed to pick up I'm on hold for 42 minutes before I even speak to someone. When the kind gentleman on the phone says he can't help me because the pharmacist I spoke to on Monday who said I CAN get MY medication today didn't communicate to the pharmacist on duty today and they will not allow it!!! WTF!! So I will go a week without it. Absolutely ridiculous and the worst pharmacy possible. Waste of my time even when you think you're responsible and taking care of yourself - these people are seriously ridiculous! Do better for your customers, please. read more

You know, we live right across this pharmacy... so I decided to move my prescription from Bartells to here. It just makes sense since it is closer. When I first called in I spoke with a very nice woman. She told me she can just call Bartells to have my prescription transferred. I was very relieved. She likewise told me she lives in the same neighborhood as me. Which was really cool. I thought she was very warm. I mentioned i needed that prescription filled already. So, we finished the call and I thought I'd follow-up the next day to give them time. So, the following day I called and found out the prescription wasn't transferred at all. They said that Bartells didn't fax my prescription to them. So, I asked them if they even made a follow-up. They said they would do it that morning. I told them I'll try to call Bartells myself as well. That already made me a bit annoyed. But ok. So I called Bartells and they told me they faxed it. And i said that they never received it. They said they are refaxing it now. Bartells said the faxed it to them while they were on the phone with them. Walgreens should have told them it didn't go through. Or at least made a follow-up call to let them know they didn't receive it. They should do their due diligence knowing they have to fill a prescription. (I have to agree with Bartells on this one). So, i called walgreens and checked if they received it. A guy answered and while checking, he said they did not receive anything. I told him, i was on the phone with Bartells while they were faxing my prescription to walgreens. That's when he said I'll double-check. Imagine that. Then he came back and confirmed receipt. Imagine this??? So he said it will be ready in 15 minutes. So i asked again, in 15 minutes?.. and he reconfirmed, yes in 15 minutes. So, i had my daughter pick it up after 4 hours lapsed.. and it wasn't ready. Lol. So again today, I called back. An asian guy answers. I know he is Asian because of his accent. I will be honest.. i can tell because i am Asian myself. He knew who i was. He said, my prescription will be ready by 11:30am. At first, I did not understand what he was talking about. I thought he was referring to a person. Apparently he was talking about my medication. Lol. So, i just thought I'd mention about why they told me yesterday it would be ready within 15 mins, when it would take overnight.. I had to send my daughter in for nothing. The gall of this guy. Instead of apologizing for their mistake, he rants and tells me, they do not carry this kind of medicine in-house and that they need to order this etc... So i told him.. i said," so why not tell me it will be ready the next day instead of telling me it will be ready within 15minutes? That's your mistake , not mine.. all you can do is apologize.. Maybe it was a mistake for me to have my prescription transferred from Bartells to Walgreens if you guys don't have any clue when it comes to customer service! " And you know what this guy did? The best customer service they can extend... hang up the phone! Yup! So, expect that from you neighborhood walgreens in Maple Valley! Hence why they get the low stars! I just had my wisdom teeth pulled and am in a lot of pain, the kid (young man) working at the pharmacy window was quite rude and wouldn't take my insurance card until the script was ready. I wanted him to check if my insurance would cover the expensive medication. He made me wait over an hour and then only checked my insurance after making me wait in excruciating pain to tell me my insurance doesn't cover the meds and I need to goto Kaiser to get them. He could have been more polite and understanding and not wasted my time and put me through more unnecessary pain. I won't come here again, and don't expect any sort of remorse or care from these people read more

We went in for flu shots. They couldn't find our insurance, it's a large company and we've never have had any issue. We confirmed with the insurance today that they should have taken it. We ended up paying cash. Then we got our paperwork to hand to the pharmacist given the shots and the first name is wrong on my husbands. Then, the pharmacist mixed up information on my husband shot record for work with my information. Second time at this pharmacist and the second time they didn't get it right. Hence the review. Follow up. I went in to talk with Thang, the pharmacist manager. He was very apologetic for the cluster that happened. He was able to refund my money and get the insurance information into the computer. Thank you Thang for getting it worked out. It was truly appreciated. read more

TLDR: I feel like Walgreens tried to kill me Where to start with this one. first off the front of the store here is actually REALLY nice in terms of the people working it. I have always had a good experience and they have even gone outta there way to help me carry things and all kinds of really nice things. YOU DONT HAVE ENOUGH OF THEM at a time but that's a corporate problem not a local store issue as all Walgreens share that issue . I want to make it clear that the pharmacy is the issue. THEY ARE THE WORST. if it wasn't for the fact that there is a 24 hour one in Issaquah and there's really no other 24 hour pharmacy's near here I would drop them and get a new one. They always mess up my scripts'. I have one that the insurance only covers half. I ALWAYS message and ask them to fill it in 2 15 bottles so i can pay outta pocket for 1 of them. however time after time this isnt done. i called and ask them to add this as standard note. this is constantly an issue. NOW here's where stuff goes really dark. i had a heart attack 3 days ago. I had 7 new scripts sent in. They only filled 6 of them without even telling me I was missing 1. They only filled my my 60 pill order with 50 pills, again no notification. I was not offered a pharmacists consultations on these new medications. MANY OF THEM HAVE INTERACTIONS. would have been nice to know they could cause HALLUNCINATIONS before having a HALLUNCINATION. In my opinion this Walgreens tried to kill me. The pill they didn't fill was one of my must takes to live according to the doctor. the one they short filled? again a life needed medication. unless i had caught the error i wouldnt have known i had 5 days less of the medication then what i was prescribed. read more

So sad to see the state of customer service these days. I stopped into the maple valley Walgreens to do some shopping while my daughter was at her music lesson. I usually use the Walgreens app to check for sales and digital coupons. When I was checking out I noticed that my 2 coupons didn't seem to have gone through so the the sales person asked her manager Jake to help her fix the problem. Jake came over with a very annoyed attitude and proceeded to roll his eyes and tell me he doesn't know what I'm talking about ands he's never heard of anything like digital coupons on the Walgreens app. I really didn't appreciate the attitude from Jake, Natalie who was ringing me out and on their first week of work was very polite. As a former retail employee I'm just saddened that this kind of attitude is acceptable these days , especially from a manager. read more

I stood at the register for several minutes, as multiple employees moved about. (Two seemed to be trying to work a photo issue, one who was not working the register simply stroked past one time then back the other way. Not one person acknowledged me, smiled, or said "we will be right with you" or "someone will be right with you"...nothing! At one point a customer walked up to the outer portion of the front (outside of the line) and someone immediately said "someone will help you over there", pointing to the register where I was standing! I had to learn from HER approaching an area she couldn't be wrung up in, that someone would eventually help me. So 1) Can we look up from a photo order to at least let me know you see me? And 2) could the person lazily strolling by me multiple times let me know it is in fact one of the people trying to trim photos that will eventually find a moment to help me? I honestly felt like I was not only invisible, but definitely In the twilight zone. Train your folks on basic customer service and like..I don't know, general human manners? read more

They have made several mistakes on my prescription fills, have long lines in their pharmacy drive -through and today I had a very rude employee get mad at me and have another employee finish helping me. This location has the BEST staff and that is why I use Walgreens. I had used Bartell's since they took over Village Drugs in Maple Valley and I finally could not take their lack of service in the Pharmacy any longer. Very snarky in their responses and I always felt like if I had any questions I was clearly interrupting the Pharmacist. Where at Walgreens, the Pharmacists and the Techs are always right on top of requests, very helpful in their answers and resources, and mostly I don't feel bad if I have a question that might require they give a little extra time to me. In my opinion they do not even deserve one star. They have a short young blonde kid working there that has a serious Napoleon complex. Asks for information no one else ever asks for and makes up things they require for a friend to pick up a prescription. I had the gall to complain about him to the Pharmacist, Thang, and was told he didn't care because he made it in when no one else did in the snow and that I could take my business elsewhere and he hung up on me. What the heck? Is this punk kid really worth telling a long time customer to go somewhere else? Never did get my prescription my friend went to pick up as I am disabled and unable to drive in the snow. This kid said I had to call and add her to my account as a person that could pick up medication for me, which has never been the case in 6 years of having my prescriptions picked up for me. Oh, and I called to do as requested and after 30 minutes of waiting someone picked up the phone and just as quickly hung up. This happened twice. I finally called Fred Meyer and had my prescriptions transferred. Buh bye Walgreens. Won't miss your rude employees. read more

The pharmacy regularly breaks the law by doing things like not checking your address and not offering pharmacist counseling even on new drugs. On top of that they'll leave out a medication or dispense it partially without saying anything. They could easily dispense something like, I dunno, narcotics to the entirely wrong person especially if it's for someone with a common name. I have tried to make complaints about all of these problems to Walgreens and they ignore my calls or say someone is going to call me who never does. 10/10 DO NOT recommend this Walgreens. read more

I know this is a case of judging a book by its cover, but I think this Walgreens has some pretty weird architecture and decor going on, both outside and inside. I much prefer the outside look of the store in Kent on 132nd, and to me, the Maple Valley store seems a little cold and "warehousey" inside - perhaps due to the use of so many cool blue and grey colors. Moving on though, the store staff here is usually on the ball. The lead pharmacist, Thang, is sharp as a tack, and remembers everything, which is a great quality to have when you're handing out potentially dangerous medication to people. He and the other pharmacy staff are always friendly whenever I've been by to pickup medications or other items. I've had very good interactions with managerial and other clerical and customer service folks here too, and it seems like the store has a good selection of everything. I recently was able to exchange an item without a receipt - no questions asked. I've been to both the Covington and Kent (132nd Ave) stores, but this one has better customer service than those two stores - I recommend coming here instead. read more

This is my 1st review. I wanted to praise Mr. Thang Tran PharmD. He is the Pharmacy Manager and a Certified Immunizer. I have been taking my family of four to him for at least 4 yrs for a flu shot. He is simply amazing. My kids now don't mind going if they know he will be there. This is from kids who jumped 4 feet from anyone giving them a shot. He is fast, effective, with no pain during the shot. Also, doesn't help he is funny and kind. We will return as long as he is there! read more

I made a purchase at this location and realized I didn't need the item. I didn't know that they had a 30 day return policy. I went back to return the item and the associate at the front was very short with me saying "it's been more than 30 days so you are getting a store" I told them I hadn't noticed the 30 days and it had only been 34 days and asked if they could please make an accommodation. They were again very short. Now I can understand if it was significantly past the return time but I honestly just didn't know about the 30 days. I can't believe the lack of service. This is not the first time I have had a poor experience here and to say I won't return or recommend Walgreens is an understatement. I can promise I won't ever shop at a Walgreens again and will make sure everyone in my community stays far away. This is my pharmacy of choice in Maple Valley. I used to go to Bartells because they were the only drive thru in town (it takes forever to get 2 kids in & out of the car) and was so relieved when Walgreens was built, & I finally had another option! Tang (the managing pharmacist) & his staff are usually amazing! Very friendly and helpful. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is due to an experience I had over the weekend. There was a female pharmacist working there instead of Tang. I'm not sure if she's the same one that's usually there when Tang isn't, or not. Anyways, I had an issue with one of my prescriptions and she was not only unhelpful, but downright rude. When I called to try to find out when Tang would be back so I could talk with him about it, she was rude again. I decided to call back until I got someone else & was lucky to get in touch with Suzanne, a pharmacy tech, who was able to help me resolve my issue on Saturday, so I wouldn't have to wait until Monday for my doctor to contact the insurance company. Suzanne actually listened & offered me a quick solution to my problem without my needing to explain much at all. Thanks Suzanne! read more

New beautiful store, so I decided to check it out rather than use the Bartells in Maple Valley or the Walgrens in Covington--the drug store / pharmacies I usually use. (9/27/18, early afternoon) I was quite surprised to see more staff on the floor than customers in the store. After trying to get service, I now understand why the store was empty. It takes more than a gorgeous, well laid out store, and enough personnel to make a great store. This store is so close to me, I was actually also checking it out to have my prescriptions transferred, and use this far more conveniently located store. No less than 4 different staff members told me to go see someone else across the store. I am a senior citizen, wear a leg brace, and really needed some help.
