I have never had a bad experience with the union avenue location until now and I rarely make an review until now... I checked discount on goodrx for my medications will be 40-50%... On Friday July 31st 2020 at 12:31 am to pick up prescriptions, the pharmacy person would not accept my discount coupons because they claim they have already did the discount and that is a total lie.... This is not the first time this has happen....Today I checked on line the retail price for my pain medications it's totally much higher and my coupons would be 50% less .. I am not going to make Walgreens or the pharmaceutical companies rich.... Another issue I have, bad attitude from a guy restocking the shelves.... I had to say excuse me three to four times only to ask him where the keto diet pills where, he totally did not want to help me.... From this day forward I will start using natural healing products for my knee replacement pain......... Walgreens have lost my business.... read more

Sunday night, around 8 PM, went inside to pick up my prescription only one cashier and two customers ahead of me took 30 minutes to pick up my order. Check out the other reviews, a lot of other customers have had the same experience. Too bad you can't give 0 stars. read more

Walgreen at this location service has gone downhill In the pharmacy department every time I come for my medication, they either don't have medicine or the computers are down,long lines or just slow staff member I will be taking my business to another location or maybe to a different pharmacy. I use the Take Care clinic quite a bit, and must say I am sorely disappointed by the way I was just dismissed from my local store. Although it was an hour before the clinic was supposed to close in observance of holiday hours and there was no one in line, I was treated rudely and without regard. I will be trying to find another source for minor med care. read more

The pharmacy drive thru is absolutely unacceptable. Sat for 35 mins and only two cars got their prescriptions. Ended up leaving without mine bc I don't have the time to wait for another 35+ mins. Either they need more assistance or get staff that can troubleshoot and grab prescriptions quicker. Unreal. read more

I used their take care clinic the other morning and had a good experience quick convenient little kiosk's to sign in, Dr. Heffner was professional and friendly. Went early in the morning was no wait and I got to fill my perscription right at the same location. They even followed up with me the Saturday following my appt. to make sure I was feeling better. read more

I have been coming to this store for several months because it is conveniently located to my work but I refuse to go back. Every time I pick up a prescription, I have to wait at LEAST 20-30 minutes - regardless of whether if I go inside or through the drive through. Convenience to my house is a 5. The employees always greet me when I enter and oftentimes I'm asked if I need any help. It's always easy to find what I'm looking for. Sometimes the lines get long. However sometimes they announce to check out in cosmetics with no line and no waiting. For some reason no one except me moves to that location so I usually get in and out quickly. The prices seem high but they almost always have sales that make the price cheap and or fair with a Walgreens card. read more

The Cashier in the early morning hours need to be more friendly.

Asked the pharmacist working on the night of 1/28/16 near 11:30 pm for advice. Got a mean look and a two-word response regarding a sick kid. At least she said something, I guess. And mind you, I wasn't sure if she and the staff were fully oriented. If you drop a script here you'd be doing good to get it filled within the next calendar year. These "pharmacists" work at Walgreens but perhaps had their license made in the hunting/sports section at Walmart. It's pathetic here. I'd have my dog put down rather than make him suffer waiting for meds to be filled at this place. Worst pharmacists ever. Deadbeats - especially the female - can't say "lady" pharmacist - working on the night of 1/28/16 around 11:30 pm. But hey, don't feel alone "pharmacist," every time I make it past the beggars at the front door of this dump, I regret coming here for meds after about five hours of waiting and insurance confusion, along with every other imaginable debacle. Really this place is the bane of my existance. I've come to accept that the majority of cashiers in Memphis do their job very very slowly, however this place is the worst. Then the store is never clean. I don't know if they are just really understaffed and they can't have people stock the shelves and other people check you out. I downloaded yelp just to review this Walgreens. I have never had worse customer service. You can wait over an hour just to call in a prescriptions, and then they hang up on you. When you do finally get a prescription in they will likely lose it. In store experience is just as bad. Most of the staff is too busy sitting around doing nothing to help you. One line is only ever open. I'd rather go to the Walgreens down the street where I saw a woman sexually assaulted. All in all I will never go to a Walgreens again. read more

I went to the Take Care Clinic this week when I suspected that I had strep throat. I made the appointment online - from my iPhone, while still in bed! - and then went to the clinic at 9 AM. I had my test by 9:15, results by 9:20, and was out the door with medication by 9:45. This was my first time at a Take Care Clinic and it was a very good experience. Thanks to the staff there for quickly taking care of me, especially when I felt so bad. read more

Same problems with being harassed by panhandlers. I live in Midtown, am used to this, but most establishments DEAL with the problem with security guards. Next, customer service by the pharmacy is a joke, non-existent. I voted with my feet and pocketbook several years ago and use Madison Pharmacy @1750 Madison. Locally and independently owned by a Midtown resident. They will order any products you need which they may not carry. We get all RX;'s, as well as OTC and Consumer products - including greeting cards, some cleaning supplies, some snacks, some drinks, etc. I personally know the staff, they are WONDERFUL, have even offered to deliver products on their way home if I couldn't get there. You have to plan around getting refills, etc., as they are open Monday - Friday 9 Am - 5:30 PM. If I HAVE to have something called in or filled at night or weekends, Rite-Aid does a much better job than Walgreens, and the panhandlers are not there. read more

This Walgreen's is horrible! There are always panhandlers harassing you and I've had a cashier go on a 5 minute rant while she was checking me out about a teenage co-worker that had called off that night. Although it was entertaining, she complained to every customer in line, which is not professional at all, and it took FOREVER to get out of there. I think i spent about 25 minutes waiting in line...there was only 2 people in front of me! I try to avoid this place like the plague. read more

There is a long wait to check out and at the pharmacy every time of day. The pharmacy is always understaffed. The pharmacy staff are not well-trained and commonly mess up prescriptions. I was given the wrong medication on more than one occasion. read more

I have been amazed and impressed by the pharmacy staff. The 1863 Union store is walkable from my house, and is used them for medications for 19 years. Even in the past few years with all the insurance changes, the level of service continues to be top-notch. The pharmacist has always been available to talk with me about OTC medicines like cold/sinus remedies, as well as drug interactions and what to expect. Sometimes the line inside is long, but drive-thru tends to be a little quicker. read more

There's almost ALWAYS shady people sitting right by the entrance asking for money. Once you enter the store, almost every employee looks as if they are on the brink of suicide. NO customer service at all and if you ask for any assistance at all, they act like you are the biggest inconvenience that ever existed. I've actually witnessed two employees get into it right in front of me over a coupon. If you ask to speak to a manager, they make some excuse up that they are busy or not there and when you do get " a manager" they are just as rude as the rest of them. If you hate your job and people that much, do us all a favor and go somewhere else to work where you stay away from society altogether. The pharmacy here is just as bad if not worse than the rest of the store. How on earth do these people get jobs here?! read more

This used to be the absolute best Walgreens pharmacy staff in the city - I was so proud to be a customer of this location. Not sure what has changed over the past year (I suspect it might be managers), but the mistakes are outrageous and one phone call to get their mistake straightened out takes a good hour because nobody ever answers the phone! I'm really hoping that this gets worked out soon because I'd hate to leave this location because they can't get it together. hooray! for this walgreens! i've come here all my life, really, since a child. but, since i've grown old, and, very sick, i am in this store once a week. it spoils you for all the other walgreens. i don't understand the other reviewers hating this store! what's wrong with them? i get all my prescriptions filled here. i get to buy food, catfood, drinks, and, they always have so many things on sale. they also have my old favorite, redbox, outside their store. i always talk to the staff. they are just humans, like me. read more
