Great place with friendly folks, great humidor and a well stocked bar. An attendant in the humidor helped steer me to a stick I'd not yet tried. I can't have a cigar without a glass of whiskey, they had that covered with a decent selection and reasonable prices. They have lots of comfy chairs and TV's to complete the experience. We were just a few minutes in and a trivia contest broke out. A great MC lead the entire place in a lively contest that produced belly laughs all around. I'm from out of town. My buddy and I stopped in for a cigar before dinner and I'm glad we did. Huge sitting area with plenty of chairs and stools as well as bar seating. Our bartender was friendly and took care of us well. Matches all around in case you need to relight your stick. Lots of ashtrays. Walk-in humidor with a decent selection. When you walk in, one of the staff members can assist you with cigar selection. You can also pay for your cigars inside as well. Solid ventilation system. I've been going to this cigar store since it was on 2nd Street. 18 years to be exact. I love the owner. He's a great guy. However, over the last year or so their cigar inventory has been atrocious. Constantly out of cigars. Seems like if you wanted to sell cigars you'd have a well stocked cigar inventory. I'm at a loss as to why they let it get in this shape. Went there a couple of days ago and it was embarrassing. If ii doesn't get corrected soon I'll have to move on. I'd rather not.... But they're leaving me no choice. read more

The staff is super friendly and kind. The seating is nice. You have various areas from the bar, tables, and couch areas to enjoy. The outdoor area is also cool. I don't smoke cigars alot. Been coming here the last several weeks. Every other time I'd say 4.5 stars but today 2 at best. Walked in the humidor to buy a humidor pack and was thinking of buying some cigars later. Asked the young lady to cut a cigar for me as I'm buying a humidor pack and she said it would be $15 just to cut the cigar (that I bought from somewhere else) for me. I asked are you serious? and she said yes. I bought the pack and walked out. I had a different cutter in my pocket and enjoyed my cigar. I've bought cigars and drinks from here every other time I'd been here. Charging just to cut a cigar is ridiculous!!! read more

Out-of-towner on vacation: Good selection of cigars, friendly staff and customers. Comfortable chairs and appeared to be well ventilated. I was shocked that the door to the humidor was left open to the rest of the lounge, but worse that the cash register was inside the humidor, and they were cutting and lighting customers' cigars in the humidor. Sat at the bar and ordered a drink with one of the cigars I purchased. Someone elsevasked for Maker's Mark, but they were "out". First cigar seemed okay, but cracked and unraveled in the second third. I saved my "Beale Street" cigars and others until I could cure them for two weeks after I returned home. read more

On a recent trip to Memphis I visited Robusto and was very impressed. The humidor was nice with a good variety at fair prices. What was remarkable was the staff. They could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. I had planned on spending time at some of the other lounges but after visiting this one I went there everyday I was in town. The live music on the weekends was really good too. The place was packed every evening I was there but I never had to wait for a drink. They also pay very close attention to cleanliness. All the ashtrays, tables and chairs were constantly cleaned. Everyone is welcome and treated with respect. There is nothing negative to say, there just isn't. And they're just a short walk from Beale Street which makes them a perfect location to start and end your evenings out. Cigar lounges are typically pretty nice, but these folks raised the bar. No Black. No White. Just Blues... This is the motto on their house brands called "Beale Street." The lanceros are killer with medio-heavy body, nice spice and some other goodies. Cigars are like good music. They are a means to unite people. Unites everything. The South has a stigma and history of ethnic segregation buuut BUT Los Angeles is or was the most ethnically segregated city in the world (In case you never noticed). The segregation is less than the 90s while I was growing up and I contributed to this segregation as a teen. Hopefully now that i am old, i contribute to inclusion. When I visit black cigar events in So Cali i get the stares... "Is he lost?" "What are you looking for?" And all that crap. It doesnt take me long to become absorbed but i do expect the seclusion. However, not in Memphis or Mississippi or other spots in the South that is deemed a "black" joint. Inclusion from this cigar lounge was surreal. I got friendly with the host and few of the locals. Nothing but blues and cigars here. The locals were loud and uber friendly. Talked trash to each other and had a good time. Stereotypes be damned since we all know how shy and reserved i am. The lounge has a full bar with a great variety of major cigar brands, boutique and exclusive brands. This is easily my favorite lounge east of the Sierra Mountain range. I cant wait to come back and be loud so we can all break sterotypes together, and live peacefully despite our physical yet irrelevant differences. read more

Travel visit to Memphis from StL for a weekend Grizzlies game in December and was fortunate that the hotel, Hampton, was in walking distance from this location...literally 1 block down. My friends and I dropped in Friday night and then again Saturday afternoon right before the game. Friday night was a great crowd! There was a live band playing a variety of R&B tunes. I thought the size of place was pretty decent and there's an ample amount of seating for the space. Appears that Friday nights are popular so, be prepared to stand if you don't get there early. As far as Saturday before the game, it was pretty empty. We had our pick of the seats and the noise level was very low; made for a relaxing and enjoyable Saturday afternoon. read more

I came across this place all from this decently handsome guy making me watch the show bar rescue. Since I'm a Memphis I had to come check it out and also loved the story behind this place. My dad's a huge cigar connoisseur and would love this place. Atmosphere is for sure a 5, great lounge to have a drink, smoke a cigar, and listen to some live sax music. Would suggest a more broad menu, the wings were decent but kinda let down considering they weren't the cuban wings from the show.
