The best Walgreen's in the area for descriptions. I don't go to the ones in my neighborhood because they hassle me so much about my prescriptions. If it is not in stock, they won't bother telling me; they'll just say my description is being worked on. If I call the stores, I get computerized menus, and they disconnect me when I try to dial out to the operator. Not at the Midlothian location, though. These folks are always really helpful, especially now, when the meds I take are harder to get (due to manufacturer shortages). In all seriousness, getting my descriptions filled can be anxiety-provoking, but not at the Midlo location. And look, I hate to add this, but the women working here have an A+ cleavage game. I typically don't notice things like that--I'm a good person, a moral person, and even the youth gang I joined as a kid (we ransacked Kendall County, Illinois--and we got away with our crimes!) was a God-oriented (actually, I should have written "god-oriented," as we worshipped Lil Kaos, the pagan god of mayhem and punching people in the groin) gang. We spread violence and "goodness" (of a form) in equal measure. Anyway, I'm a good person, so I usually don't notice this sort of stuff. Suffice it to say that this is the only Walgreen's where I go inside to pick up my descriptions. And I ain't exactly hard on the eyes, neither, so the workers are getting something out of it, too, but it's still a thrill for me. read more

Customer service terrible! Could get No one to service me as a walk in. Four people servicing one person in the drive thru! The pharmacist included. Afterwards she went back to the computer and still did not service me. The techs walked away doing other things. After about 10 min of them avoiding me, pharmacist finally say's "someone will be with you in a minute ma'am ". Yeah ok, was my reply. Finally, I get a sarcastic tech who asks me to repeat info I I've already verified when she logged in... are you kidding me?! She says I cannot release meds to just anyone. At this point I was livid. If I she's went through the 2 step verification, why are you adding 4 steps? I may as well have given her my social security number! Walgreens is getting very unprofessional with customer service and prescription filling/ dispensing. Makes no sense at all. She acted as if the meds were for her!!! Over doing it and trying to be more than what she was. She probably was upset because the pharmacist made her stop doing what she was doing, which was nothing, to assist me. After all I was there for 10 min and the only person at the register! Never again, I'll go to CVS. imagine a patient hurting and needing their medication but the tech is refusing to release it until you verify with a 4 step instead of 2 step verification! It is not my intent to make someone look bad or cause anyone issue. My objective is to advise specialist in this profession that it is wrong to treat people in the manner they do. Professionally, it's absolutely wrong. Personally, it's equally wrong in making a sad society worse when a service industry is treating customers with disrespect and contempt. I don't understand who theyre pissed off at or why they would be remotely be upset with me for simply asking a question I don't honestly know because they are not consistent in the way they act month to month or yr to yr. 15 years ago, these people would not be able to hold their position at work for more than a week because of the way they treat any customers. I'm regularly frustrated more times than not by the pharmacy employees that you deal with in drive thru or speak to over the phone when trying to transact or get an answer to a problematic issue that should not ever happen. it's simply elementary communications that need to be learned or practiced. I actually cannot believe their supervisors don't do something about it instead of trying smooth over the situation. Simply happens far too often. I know these often younger pharmacy specialist are most likely overworked or underappreciated given the long hours they must work. But not a person in that building could've remotely gone through what ppl my age did when seeking employment or profession. I also understand the disconnect in communications from government, doctors, insurance CO's, to Consumer. If the pharmacies specialist are the ones to be specifically informed, should it not be their responsibility to properly inform the consumer refilling the same prescription or asking questions about those prescriptions?But when an elderly person that gets the same prescriptions for years feels like they're being disrespected, it gets very stressful and aggravating. I got up to 50 years on some of these employees. It's as if they believe they're entitled to look down on people because of the medicines they take or the questions asked. I have tried negotiating this situation for years, but the same thing continues to happen. It's so bad that I always try to send my son or my wife because it happens regularly while it ruins the rest of my day. Sometimes it takes a number of days to get to the bottom of the issue. It is not my fault that they are busy. Back when I was their age, we would've been fired on the spot if we treated customers with contempt and disrespect. The worst thing is, they think the way they're acting is perfectly fine. But they have no conception their actions ruin an elder's day by the way they're being treated. It's as if I'm an idiot that is bothering them in their precious time. The fact of the matter is I tried to avoid calling the pharmacy by using their app. But when you repetitively get sent incorrect information with often omissions of the same prescriptions taken for a decade, you stop using the app because you end up wasting 45 minutes on something that should take only a few minutes. Furthermore, the app/text solicitations are ridiculously overwhelming. They prompt you to ask your questions online about simple pharmacy issues only to waste a great amount of time trying to ask the question. Then after attempting I get told to call the pharmacy. And that's only one of many useless situations. What was the point of being solicited to using the app? So it gives me no choice but to delete the app because the information is never valid and causes further issue when brought up to the pharmacy workers that never have a solving response. Plan and simple, i'm tired of being treated wrongly when I'm simply asking for the answer to something I don't understand. Yet even at my age, they treat you like you're a drug addict and think you want your prescription filled when you just want only an answer of why it's being filled past normal fill date because I don't have the physical ability to get to the pharmacy. In my lifetime, I've never consumed a medicine outside the parameters it was prescribed. I wish I did not even have to take them! To make things even worse because of how bad the insurance industry has gotten, they act as if the insurance company that I pay out of my pocket is in control of my medication's refill. If my prescription is due to be refilled, and I could care less if the insurance company pays for them, then they should fill them upon request, not negotiate with me to wait or tell me they can't because of the insurance coverage. I know there's a money factor in here that I haven't figured out yet! You would think what I pay is more than what the insurance does, so it doesn't make sense. read more

The phone rang 30 times before I finally hung up, that was after was transferred after waiting 5 minutes to talk to someone

Pharmacy staff is rude and don't relay information. My dr. Called me in a prescription for 325 mg aspirin. I just had surgery and finished the blood thinner and he wanted me to be on a high dose aspirin for a few weeks. They received the order but never filled it. Bye last night to pick up other prescriptions and showed the girl what the dr. Sent and she said she will fill it but it would ​​be an hour. I called there again today to ask about it and the lady said she will fill it today but it will take 90 minutes. I just called again over 3 hours later and not being notified its ready and they tell me it's over the counter. ​2 days messing around with this when someone could have called or texted me. This is the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. My prescriptions are never ready when I request them and the staff makes up excuses and blames me. For my last rx the tech gave the following reasons in a 5 minute conversation-they said I never requested it (I did), then I waited too long to pick up (1 day), then I must have changed insurance (I didn't), then it wasn't covered by my insurance (it had been the previous 4 months), then they were waiting for a response from my doctor. The pharmacy staff is just rude and slow. The staff for the rest of the store is great. Always happy to help and truly seem to care about their customers. read more

This store is slow l, screws up refills, doesn't have things ready when they say, doesn't call when there's a problem but tells me after I've waited for 20 mins for a pick up. Tonight I've been waiting in the drive thru for 20 mins with no movement. The staff is rude and not helpful. It's time to find a new drugstore. read more

Hello again, Walgreen's. I'm giving you an extra star. Wanna know why? Because your pharmacists have been rocking my world as of late. I'm the mom of a severely disable/medically fragile three year old, and she requires an arsenal of medications daily for many different conditions/medical issues. I am at this very location rather frequently, to say the least. Keeping up with refills is a bit...overwhelming at times, but this pharmacy always pulls through for me and that means a lot. If I call in a script that needs to be filled in a timely fashion, this location rocks my world. The pharmacists are great about answering my many, many questions. The drive thru moves at a fair clip--another plus. Overall, this Walgreen's has been awesome as of late and I am really feelin' the love. :) read more

Not quite sure why this particular Pharmacy always has such a long wait for RX. Within the last two weeks they lost an RX once and the next week we waited an extra 20 minutes while the RX was "ready". Sorry to say they are inadequate and need to understand when a script is called in and a time is given, they need to abide by their word. They are consistent in making the customer wait and need improvement in this area. Thank goodness for the Oak Forest Pharmacy crew on 159th and Central. They need to show this particular store on 147th and Cicero how to successfully operate in this field. read more

I'm giving 4 stars because our last experience at this Walgreen's pharmacy was a very rare one as of late. If it weren't for SOME of the younger girls behind the pharmacy counter, JILL would've received FIVE stars!! I'll get to those younger girls once I have their names, but I do not want to take the spotlight off of Jill. She is the most friendly, upbeat, knowledgeable staff member behind that counter that isn't an actual pharmacist. May (the actual pharmacist that we try to visit) is absolutely WONDERFUL and genuinely kind. It seems no matter where we go, pharmacy lines (albeit in-store or drive-thru) are somewhat short but take FOREVER!!! I've switched pharmacies many times over because I got so SICK of being the second person in line and waiting 1/2 hour!! This, however, is not the point. Jill, on behalf of myself, I appreciate the advice you'd given me on what BCBS card numbers I needed to clear up my insurance issues. I love this location. Everything is organized, clean, easy to find, & the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Dot & sean are my favorite. Dot is the sweetest, most friendly lady I've ever met. Sean is hilarious and always talks to me. The rest of the staff is just as great, and so helpful - one lady helped me pick out a phone card when I was going out if the country - her advice was great! I love that they do a donation bin for the soldiers. Great location.. all because of the staff! read more

Horrible pharmacy. I take around 5 prescriptions a month and so I've dealt with many walgreens, this being the closest 24hr near me I have made several worthless trips bc of several reasons. Pharmacists here do not know how things work, or they decide to obey their own set of rules. Generally, I'm lied to pertaining to why my prescription is unable to be filled. I know this because my main non 24hr pharmacy all know me very well, especially the pharmacist in charge. So when I have a problem I ask him about the scenario. Every time, maybe minus once, I was lied to about the problem. They have told me that my insurance needs to preapprove the medication, my doctor needs to preapprove it, the dea made a new law, etc. I have brought this up during conversations with the pharmacists before and they refuse to tell me the truth, as I consider myself an intelligent person and when something happens to me once, I make sure I understand why/how/how to avoid the same occurrence again. Do yourself a favor and go to the Crestwood walgreens if you're able. Almost the entire staff(even the techs) are very helpful and understanding. read more
