Pharmacist are always comfortable to talk with. Sometimes it takes a little while to get your prescriptions done, but they are way better than the one in Anacortes. Anacortes Walgreens will constantly lie to you on the phone make you wait days to get your prescriptions. Repeated calls. Always out of medication's. My prescriptions are always being filled late where I run out for 2 to 3 days after their due date. Not fun when you're in pain and need your medication. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. We went to pharmacy after waiting in line for 30 minutes were told our prescription would be ready in 30 minutes. We came back an hour later and a different pharmacy tech told us that they were actually out of the medicine we needed. No apology, no time to expect when it would be ready. We asked why we were told 30 minutes and she said "Because she didn't actually check." End of conversation. I'm never getting a prescription filled here again. The pharmacy here is very good: good consultation on interactions of over the counter medications. Full inventory of cold and allergy medications ( unlike Safeway across the street.) helpful staff on insurance paperwork !! And lots of Covid tests and covid / flu shots. We transferred it last week and had to go through some hoops today to get a refill. Exceptional service and so helpful! I had a prescription that was sent to Walgreens early in the afternoon and went there in the evening. The lady who helped me was not friendly at all. She needed me to spell my last name 3 times and gave the impression she was irritated about being there with her tone of voice. She said they didn't receive the prescription. I went home and called the provider the next day in the morning and let them know what happened. Went back to Walgreens in the afternoon and I had the same lady with the same irritable tone. She said they still didn't receive the prescription. I offered to call the provider so we could resolve over the phone and then she told me to leave because she had other people to help. A great place if you want Auto- refill to not refill, ordered drugs to not show up, and to frequently not be able to get your regular medications. Luckily there are other pharmacies in town, and they seem to be able to manage prescription refills. read more

The pharmacy took the initiative and solved an emergency for our elderly aunt. Jenna (? Janna?) went above and beyond to handle a complicated problem over the phone. Took the time to look up information and set up a solution for an elderly woman who was weak and unable to work on her problem herself. They--especially SHE--were marvelous!!! read more

Brought a rx in to be filled. They couldn't fill both items (neither a narcotic or benzodiazepine). Without communicating that they wouldn't be able to fill both items right now they were only going to give my the one item and initially told me I couldn't have my paper script back. I had not touched or paid for the medication and wanted the whole prescription back to take somewhere else. They initially said no that when I found another place they would transfer the rx to the pharmacy of my choosing. I work in the medical field and used constantly take pharmacy related complaints regarding lost scripts, miscommunication between the provider and pharmacy. In the end I got my paper rx back. I would have appreciated knowing that the full script could not be filled in the beginning as I would not have wasted my time waiting. I will absolutely never frequent this Walgreens for pharmacy or other related needs. read more

This particular store has customer service problems. I had a prescription sent to this store, went to the pharmacy window as the clerk was finishing with another customer and she said to me, "be right back". 15 minuites later, no clerk and no service. Four employees behind the counter and when I said something to them, one of them looked up and shrugged. No service from any of them. It is no wonder the store was empty. Walgreen's pharmacy staff are incompetent. I went into the store today to pick up my daughter's antibiotic. They told me it would be ready in 20 minutes. So, I browsed the store with my very uncomfortable daughter for 20 minutes. I returned to the counter to pick up her medication and was again told it would be ready in 20 minutes. That was frustrating, but I maintained my composure and told the lady I'd return in a couple hours. A few hours later, my husband attempted to pick up the medication. The lady at the counter told him it'd be 20 minutes, so he waited. After the 20 minutes elapsed, he returned to the counter. The woman told him they didn't have the medication and they'll try to call other pharmacies. NO. So I called the my daughter's physician's office to have them send the prescription to Walmart instead. I will never use Walgreen's pharmacy again. The correct thing to do would be to call the customer and let them know what's going on instead of giving them the runaround. It's a pretty simple and logical way to do business. If you have seen one, you have seen then all. Their pharmacy is pretty slow if more than one person is there and the photo counter person knows no more about pictures than your average DSLR owner. I do have to say the woman who gave me my immunization a was nice. For a corporate box it isn't terrible, just typical. I prefer Island Drug, mostly on shop local principle. read more

The pharmacy calls are bad. They call to say the prescription is ready. I drive the 16 miles to pick up the prescription and they say the prescription is not ready and I should come back tomorrow. This has happened several times. Why do they say they are ready when they aren't? read more

The friendliest staff at any store ever! I especially love how friendly and helpful the cosmetics staff is. For a small town, this Walgreens has a huge selection of cosmetics, hair color, and hair care products. Also, Walgreens now accepts Tri-care, which is helpful. read more

Shout out to the pharmacy department! And especially the nice, white blonde (okay maybe grey, but since I prefer to call myself "ash blond" versus grey, we'll call her a lovely "white blond") pharmacist and her young bearded assistant working the closing shift in the Oak Harbor store tonite. (Sorry, should have gotten names). My uncle lives alone, is new to the area with no friend network, and has some health issues. I help him out as much as I can, but am often not available via work and my own family commitments. Well he was in the Anacortes hospital for 6 nights with pneumonia. They released him today, and I went and picked him up. He also does not have a vehicle and is very limited on mobility. Well they released him with 3 prescriptions. I took them over to Walgreens to get filled today for him as I'm leaving out of town for several days early tomorrow. Turns out the antibiotic the doctor prescribed would interact with one of his other meds, the pharmacist catches that (thank you!) and calls to get a change. And then we wait. And wait. And wait. For the order to come over. I'm checking in frequently. Nothing. Well...it turns out the pharmacist realized, they had sent over the prescription change but in the WRONG PATIENTS NAME. Doctor screwed up. But by the rules of medicine, she can't fill the prescription til she gets the right name! Hands are tied. I'm leaving first thing for 3 days. How will uncle get the antibiotics he needs? Well I get on phone to hospital, nurses desk, finally ridiculous paging system with the doctor on call. I finally get the doctor, after leaving about 20 pages. This is at about 7:30. Doctor says he will find out why the pharmacy isn't getting the changed prescription for his antibiotics. I call the WalGreens at about 8. Still HAVE NOT rec'd the the new prescription order! Well they close at 9, so I have to drive the other prescriptions over to my uncle anyways, so I figure, I'll stop in about 8:40 and see if it's come in. Not sure what my uncle will do otherwise. I drive up and the pharmacist tells me she's been leaving her number of the pager for the doctor as well, and no return calls. Well aha! I had FINALLY gotten an return call from the doctor (not that it made a difference) and it was his cell phone! So I give her that number to call. Neener-neener! She gets right on it, finally gets the change she needs, and about 9:02, they closed up shop at 9 officially, btw, we are in business with my uncle's prescription. So anyways, big shout out to the pharmacist, and staff, at WalGreens tonite for taking the extra mile to take care of a patient without a lot of other options. You could have easily said "nothing we can do, waiting on the doctor" and blown us off and there was nothing we could have done. So we really appreciate it! And they only reason this is a 4 star rather than 5 star review is because this whole thing wouldn't have been an issue if WalGreens would DELIVER in Oak Harbor. And before anybody says "RiteAid delivers..." yeah, we know, but my uncles insurance doesn't cover Rite Aid! Oy!!!! But I know that no delivery thing is some stupid corporate muckety muck's decision, not the nice caring pharmacist's call! So she gets a 5 star, WalGreens Corporate gets the 4!). I wish you could write each department separately. The pharmacy department is hit or miss, sometimes there's somebody working but I don't particularly care for. It seems like they always have an attitude and is mad at the world. But the beauty department is pretty good. There are a couple of girls who work there seem to really know the products that they have, or at least make a point to try out a few things. And so any time that I've ever gone and I was looking for something but not any particular product in mind they were usually pretty good about helping me find a product that would fulfill that something I was looking for. I also really like that the store makes a point to collect all of their coupons from the Sunday newspaper cut them and keep them and if you ever go there and check out at the health and beauty counter they will usually know if they have a coupon in stock for the product you're buying and give it to you no hassle, no charge, just a smile read more
