This is my neighborhood Walgreens and there's something fundamentally wrong about this place. It's like the people who work there are technically alive, but just barely. There's no sense that they're truly conscious or if they're in a collective fugue state where their bodies function, but the brains aren't processing information correctly. Just as an example, I went there yesterday for some cough syrup and found that the few employees were much too occupied wandering around to help with the giant line. And the one line had some lady there who had taken so long she sat down while the cashier read aloud to her the prices of every lighter behind the counter. I walked over to the register, put the cough syrup down to leave. As I left, I asked the young security dude if there was a manager who worked there. I was curious if anyone was in charge or if this was some kind of elaborate Andy Kaufman-style comedy bit designed to make people lose their minds. I didn't actually say that, but when I asked if a manager or supervisor works there, he reacted as if it's the first time the words of another human being had entered his ears. The confusion and bewilderment on his face filled my heart with great sadness for the future of the human race. Long story short: this Walgreens will be joining New Seasons on my boycott list. It's truly one of earths most cursed physical locations. read more

Today is no exception: I enter the store, it doesn't appear that there is anyone minding the store, an employee is finally identified, no affect, the question is answered, help arrives, the person is glum, almost angry or pissed off, check out is without conversation or effort. I've had better experiences entering a funeral home!!! There is no joy in this store and is demonstrated by the lack of customers. I will NEVER enter this store again and will advise others to do so. AVOID THIS PHARMACY. Have been coming here since 2012 and it used to be well run. Since Covid the place continues to decline. The long-term and competent staff have left, replaced by rude, disrespectful and incompetent pharmacy techs who don't listen, always end up being wrong, and can't find a prescription that is sorted by the alphabet. Each prescription takes a minimum of two separate trips and several frustrating phone calls to retrieve. Each time I think the place couldn't get worse they manage to prove me wrong with further incompetency and rudeness. Have had to go DAYS without thyroid meds due to their incompetence. No more. After over a decade, today is the last day I set foot in this grimy understaffed, poorly stocked location. I will take my business elsewhere. read more

Today I came in at 2pm to pick up my prescription, to see the pharmacy shuttered and several people already standing around waiting. The pharmacist decided to make their own new long lunch break while the line of sick people standing around just grows. This is unacceptable. Their employees need to manage their time properly and not make their patients suffer. The store itself is dismal enough with it'a grimey floors and post apocalyptic feel, but this is too far. Seriously, zero stars for this poor excuse of a pharmacy...since my insurance won't cover my script, i just wanted to pay out of pocket but couldnt do it online so i called. Was on hold for an HOUR AND 35MINS before someone picked up, everything got sorted within 5min and asked my script to he delivered. Fast forward 2 weeks later, still hasnt been delivered. Called again, on hold for 30 mins...apparently, my meds were in the wrong bin and no one noticed till I HAD TO CALL again. What is wrong yall?! read more

I hate that you can't give a ZERO STAR review!! I've been getting my prescriptions here for 23 years and something bad has happened and they are not saying what but my last 3 prescriptions were not fill on time or at all with NO REASON... They refuse to answer their phone and after several days of not filling the RX I have to go wait in a Hella long line (today 13 people in front of me) just to hear it's not ready... I am over hearing the older guy at the window trying to pick up hi RX and he's getting nothing but excuses as to why his it's not ready... This pharmacy has really gone down the toilet! The wall greens at 33rd and killingsworth is amazing! After waiting 3 days and this lame Lombard location I was able to call the killingsworth location and get it filled in 20 minutes! read more

If it was possible to give a "negative stars" rating this Walgreen's location would get -10 stars. I will NEVER step foot in this particular location EVER again!!! I've shopped here for 20+ years, if I just need to purchase a couple items quickly. The past couple of years this location has gotten increasingly worse to the point where now it's truly an awful, horrible, frustrating experience every time!!! * There are no shopping carts or shopping baskets (the kind you carry). There is literally no way to carry multiple items while shopping, other than using your own two hands. So, if you're shopping for multiple items, good luck :( * Shelf after shelf has empty, un-stocked items, always. * A lot of the items that are in-stock are locked up. And since they're always under-staffed it can literally be a 15-20 minute wait for the ONE EMPLOYEE who has a key to come unlock what you need. I waited 15+ minutes to have a $3.49 bottle of nail glue unlocked *eye roll* * Horrible customer service! The employees would rather stand around gossiping and talking with each other vs. help customers. And if you ask any employee a question there's a 50/50 chance whether you'll get the correct answer. * If you want a printed receipt, be sure to ASK the cashier before your transaction is complete! I purchased some work-related items, so I wanted a physical receipt. The cashier didn't ask if I wanted a receipt she just rang up my stuff, I paid, and no receipt printed. Then she turned her back and started chatting with her co-worker. I (very politely) asked for my receipt, she turned her head slightly towards me and said "it will be emailed to you" then turned back to finish the conversation with her co-worker. read more

Such a bad experience here. I needed to update my insurance in order to fill a prescription and could not do it through the app. I waited on hold for 25 minutes before an incredibly rude impatient pharmacist got on the line. He had absolute no patience for my questions, was harsh and made me feel horrible when I couldn't find a certain number on my insurance card. We were on the phone for all of 4 minutes to fix the problem, I wish the staff could've shown some kindness. Not only that but while on hold, you get the automated message that someone will help you soon every 10 seconds. read more

I waited in line for 30 minutes, watching most of the customers in front of me leave without their medications. When I reached the front, the pharmacy tech told me my prescriptions weren't ready. It had been two days since they were submitted, so I asked what the holdup was. She went off on a rant about people quitting and having to be in on her day off. I asked when I would get my medications, and she said I could sit and wait for an hour to get them. I told her I didn't have the time to wait, so I would come back tomorrow. She said if I didn't stay and wait then they wouldn't be ready for another week. At that point, a chubby man with a goatee came over and informed me they'd be happy to cancel my scripts "out of spite" so I left. I've driven by this location for three years. Because it was convenient, I scheduled my COVID vaccinations here. I wasn't expecting the gentle, caring, efficient, good humored attention that I received both times. Mind blown and heart opened. This review is exclusively for the pharmacy and pharmacy staff- the retail staff have always been helpful and kind. Every time I've come to the pharmacy, it's because I've gotten a message that says my RX is ready and when I come in, nothing is ready and the pharmacy staff seems to have no idea why. I've had multiple messages sent that RXs are ready that they "don't have in stock" when I come to their location. I have seen this is a problem for other customers ahead of me in line. There always seems to be a problem when I come in, either for myself or for the people around me. I feel so badly for aging customers who I feel are taken advantage by this pharmacy. The staff don't seem to understand that their incompetence affects people from getting medications they need to survive or to live a happy and healthy life. I had a medication that was mixed wrong multiple times, and they keep charging me for the redos, even though they continue to be unusable. I wish they would just give the items to me so I can mix it myself! This location is incredibly convenient for me and I wish I could keep using it- but this time was the last straw. I would only return here if it was my last option. I'll be going outside of the neighborhood to get my prescriptions filled in the future. read more

Getting medication here was so frustrating and horrible. I came in with a prescription and waited for what seemed like forever for two people ahead of me to get through the line. That's not too bad but not the best. Then I was told I'd have to wait twenty minutes for my meds, pretty standard. I waited for over thirty minutes which is fine, but they called my name over the intercom or whatever it's called and I was sitting RIGHT THERE. You saw maybe four people, you couldn't remember who I was? But I was still calm by this point- these things happen. Where the one star review comes from is the rest. I came up to the pickup window and was immediately told to wait in line. I thought I was in the wrong so I got in line again. Waited in line for forever again. When I got to the window the lady asked if I had been called- yes I have YOU PEOPLE CALLED ME. So she said I wasn't supposed to be in line??? And to go to the pickup window. Now I'm annoyed. I go to that window AGAIN and the guy there looks annoyed? I said my name and he sighed "oh" then refused to make eye contact again and muttered whatever he was reading off the warnings and shoved the bag toward me. Why are y'all being so rude? I get it- I was in sweats and a big hoodie with messy hair. I AM SICK. My appearance is all I could gather would have made them so rude to me- but maybe they always are? Also I noticed the chick at the window overly chatty with some dude ahead of me and offered everyone but me free Covid tests to go. What gives? read more

I don't understand why I have to leave any stars it should be -20 stars stopped after work picked up 1 pop and a 12 pack at the cashier she asked for I'd gave it to her and tried to pay for it with my C. C. She said I'm sorry your card is no good and tried it again then she said look your trying to use a stolen card I said WHAT? you got my ID look its the same name as the card. Then she just said you need to leave. And then said under her breath something like Dam white trash so I said I got cash and she would not let me pay cash. So I went to my bank and found out that there was no problem with my card and in fact it did go through as it had a 18.05 charge on it from Walgreens and now they won't refund my money. I live 40 minutes away from the pharmacy but it's the only one who had the medication I desperately needed. I called them ahead of time as I knew they were closing soon and promised I'd be there before then. When I arrived, there was one customer in front of me. Before he was even finished with her, he turned to me and I QUOTE: "after her, we're closed. We have lives too ya know" !!!! I don't know if he was a tech or the pharmacist but it was completely uncalled for and very unprofessional! If I didn't need this medicine so badly I'd never step foot in here again. I came here to have my passport photo done because it's a convenient location. The girl who took it struggled to find the camera for several minutes then immediately asked me to sit for the photo. I was wearing a big big puffy jacket and had my purse on my shoulder. I had to ask her if I could take them off before the photo, to which she replied "if you want".. She took the photo so quickly and without instruction which made me nervous, seeing how easily passport photos are denied for numerous reasons. When I got home and looked at the photo, it was completely blurry. I ended up returning for a refund. Even the guy I returned it to was shocked at how bad the photo was. I ended up going a little further to Passport & Immigration Photos who gave direction, took their time and made sure I loved my photo. I took it as a fluke and, despite my better judgment, returned to have a few photos developed to mail to a relative. Again 4 out of the 5 photos were completely blurry. Yes it was cheap, but I'd rather pay 10 times there price to have a quality photo printed. The only reason I'm not giving it 1 star is because the location is convenient to run in for beer or snacks, as there's not many stores nearby. I've learned my lesson; I won't come here for anything else. read more

I live right around the corner and I HATE this store!! You'd think Walgreens corporate might have checked in on this store in the last 10 years and see that it is a hot mess. The stock is absolutely unreliable. Even for the most basic essential items it's a 50/50 chance you'll find anything on the shelf. I've gone in several times and they've been totally drained of stuff like regular coke, butter, milk, etc. I went there about a week ago in dire need of eggs for dinner, I saw maybe 10 cartons of eggs, relieved I grabbed one in a hurry and noticed it was really wet. Opened it and EVERY egg was smashed. And EVERY carton on the shelf was like this. Now on the off chance you find what you need going to check out is a whole new ordeal. There is ALWAYS a line, and most of the cashiers are kind (theyve had a shake up in staff over the last year) but theres usually one cashier stuck helping everyone. I've seen managers wander aimlessly or even worse stand a chat with coworkers right beside a 25 person line with one register open. If you happen to walk past this store you will walk through trash blowing on the sidewalk. They seriously allow their trash cans to overflow on a regular basis and it's Blows all over the street. This store is dirty, poorly stocked, poorly staffed and I'd avoid it. read more

I go to this store frequently as I live in the neighborhood. I have one complaint..there is this one clerk in there that thinks he's a total comedian. Every time he checks me out, EVERY TIME, he tries to crack some joke response after he asks how I'm doing. The pharmacists here are friendly, considering the fact that the bulk of conversations they have are with tired people running errands or those under the weather. They text (if you like) to let you know your prescription is ready. The neighborhood is in the process of gentrification, which means there's some less than savory characters as well as some good natured family types. With that in mind, it's surprising that they treat everyone the same, avoiding the "are you a thief" look. There's a mighty amount of cosmetics, facial cleansers, moisturizers, cologne and body sprays. It works in a pinch to swing by for an Amy's organic microwave meal and a rockstar for lunch. So wether you need meds, snacks, foundation or supplements for you or the family, this is a good place to go, as its smaller than Freddy's but has more than your convenience store. read more
