Horrible customer service in regards to the pharmacy. No one can give clear answers regarding specific questions. They dont take time to explain why there is different pricing. I always feel like I'm getting charged more than I should. Finally was able to switch pharmacies. I will never come back here. Dont easte your time just because it's a drive thru. read more

I stopped in this morning(12/17/19) to pick up a prescription. I waited in line while a customer was in front of me getting her prescription from the woman behind the counter. The customer was handed her bag and was done with getting her prescription. She then the customer started talking to the woman behind the counter about the her work, her manager and other non prescription issues. So I waited and waited and waited as she continued to go on and on. So I'm waiving, like hello, waiting here. The woman behind the counter saw me and ignored me. When the customer finally left, I said to the woman behind the counter, "don't hesitate to tell a customer that there are people in line waiting and that she'd love to hear her story later". The woman behind the counter dismissed my comment and said with an indignant reply "how can I help you" and I said, "you could have told the customer that there were people waiting" she replies, "well we try to provide customer service". Well what about the people who are standing in line waiting while a customer goes on and on. So much for customer service by her to me. Am changing my rating for the pharmacy because it really depends on who is working. I love Dave but I am really tired of dealing with the constant influx of new staff. I've been coming to this pharmacy for 4 yrs and I feel like there are not as on top of it as they used to be. They are still better than other pharmacies in the area but I am lowering my rating bc they haven't been as consistent as they used to be, in terms of staffing. I called the pharmacy to see if they had a specific brand in for my daughters medication. I Sat on hold for over 52 minutes waiting for someone in the pharmacy to answer. I decided to drive the 20 minutes to go in to see if they were busy. When I got in To the pharmacy it was completely empty! They had one car in the drive through. 5 people in there and no one can answer the phone PATHETIC! read more

Let me start off by saying that this review is for the employees that DONT WORK in the pharmacy. The pharmacist is extremely nice and helpful. He was more than willing to help me with my concerns. As for the rest of the employees! After I finished at the pharmacy counter I needed some assistance to get my photos I ordered. Two employees were in front talking laughing playing on their phones. While the others were working. I figure a wait a few minutes to have them recognize me BUT no they didn't. They continued laughing and giggling and not even notice other people around needed help. I was beyond irritated when they finally realized I was there which happen to be as I timed it 7 min and 38 sec! To stop screwing around and help. Very disappointed. read more

This is by FAR the best and last Pharmacy you will want to go to in North County SD. I go out of my way to get all RX here because of the friendliness and the often less than 10 min from submittal to pickup time. It's amazing how so many put up with CVS ( and so many others) 4hr wait times and incompetence in helping their customers. What really holds this place on top though has to be Pharmacy Manager David R. This guy can perform miracles when you think situations are hopeless. More than once he has been able to provide solutions I thought not possible. Particularly when complicated Rx issues have arose over the years. Issues stemming from from every corner of the Pharmaceutical world too (i.e. on vacation and forgot meds, insurance mis grading tier level, question Dr.'s qty/strength of one med when combined with another as a safety concern...it goes on). I would think it would take a lot for most yelpers to write a review of a pharmacy. I am glad to finally get around to doing it. This one deserves high kudos. read more

Walgreens Poway does not know how to conduct business at the Pharmacy. I scheduled a Flu Shot at 7pm arriving at 6:50 checking in and told to have a seat to wait. At this point I should say that they were not busy. I saw no one else seated and waiting. They seemed occupied but without any sense of urgency. Finally at 7:20 they called someone else for their shot. Another 20 minutes passed calling another name for their shot. I didn't see either sitting so maybe they were walking around. At 7:50 they called someone else I did see arrive After I had. As they walked in I asked and what about my "last name"? I was asked back to the original window really upset that their operation couldn't accomplish a simple flu shot in ONE HOUR now. This was enough Red Flags to not have any confidence. I thanked the apologetic man leaving as a friend. I've found that pharmacies both walking and Mail order shouldn't be in the medicine dispensing business, customers are not there for fun, they really need their medicines. And when an operation is so inept, inefficient, basically unable to help the customer in real need. Higher management must step in to make changes. I stop by this particular Walgreens to pick up a knee brace that I ordered online this Tuesday. I took the chance to look for some hair bands. During this time I saw at this three customers not have masks on their faces or even have them around their neck or in their hands. It seems to be this Walgreens does not enforce masks or care about the current COVID-19 situation. I was only there for 10-15 minutes and stayed around the hair accessories alley. read more

Can I give zero stars? One star for the male cashier who was pleasant. Zero for the manager At the time right now ( I just left the store) female manager with short hair. New to couponing, trying to save money for me and my family. Was going to buy a lot of Irish spring. Different pregnant also rude Worker told me limit of 4, ok fine, I didn't even have her put it back cause she was pregnant, I put everything back to its place. Tried a different deal that was supposed to print out a Catalina. Didn't work so I asked manager to void it, super pissed she looked at me like I was trying to steal, didn't even talk to me, asked the CASHIER if I got any money from the transaction. The service at this pharmacy is a joke. I have never called in with a question about my prescriptions without waiting at least 25 minutes to speak with someone. Most of the time I get fed up of waisting my time because nobody answers and I just hang up. I don't understand how they can have so many people working in this pharmacy and yet nobody is ever available. I am loosing patience and honestly I would have transferred my prescriptions months ago if it wasn't such a hassle to do so. Now it seems like I have no other choice but to deal with that hassle. Save yourself the headache and just go somewhere else. They say Walgreens has been in business since 1901! You would think they would know what they were doing by now. read more

Having difficulty getting a prescription filled (walgreens says its an insurance issue) called, waited 20 minutes on hold, and was disconnected. Called again, spoke to JOHN, who couldn't care less about helping me. Finally it was resolved (Walgreens had the wrong RX bin number) but I had to demand that JOHN check this. I'm not an insurance expert, but one would think that confirming ID numbers would be their first remedy. JOHN just wanted to get me off the phone ASAP. read more

Ordered photos online and had the option to go threw drive through . Clicked that I was there and proceeded to go in. Then pharmacy guy basically looked at me all stupidly and said he had nothing to do with that and to proceed to go inside or wait on curbside.... clicked on the link for curbside waited waited and then just eventually went inside . Where I found a lady and gentleman who looked to be a manager and Asked if they did curbside where they lady just snapped at me and said well I was there. Well man you were not when I was and just advised her to let pharmacy know that drive through is available. But instead she ignored me and rolled her eyes ... like seriously. I wasn't even being rude or anything you would think that they would like to know that pharmacy is blowing people off and telling them to go inside the store but apperently she didn't give 2 ** . The only person nice enough to acknowledge me was the cAshier who noticed she was being rude and apologized.... fix your attitude or work else where not directly with custom. You lose one . Very friendly staff! Great clearance items. Always clean. My only complaint is they run out of suff a lot.

The only thing I can say is this pharmacy really needs to get it together. I have had 4 prescriptions called in here in the last 2 years and EVERY time something happens and they "don't have it" well awesome. Twice I was at the front desk when the person called it in and low and behold I get there later in the day "we have no prescriptions under your name". I kept using them because they are so close to my house but not after today. This is complete crap. It may not be much business but I am certainly going to take it elsewhere and would encourage others to as well. read more

I love this Walgreens! They stock so many versions, brand and generic, of the same item. You always have choices to choose from. I frequently use their RedBox outside the door. I like to comb slowly through their skincare items. They have so many varieties of natural items such as Alba, Promise Organic, and other imports. They have quite a selection of goods. I am always pretty astounded. Their candle selection is on point. They have drugstore versions of Yankee Candles. Their stuffed animal collection is quite impressive. Love this store!! read more

This review is only for the Pharmacy and long overdue, though I will say the few times I've purchased outside the Pahrmacy everything has been good. I know the typical stories of chain Pharmacies and I have had my share of bad experiences, however, I have never been treated poorly here and that's saying a lot considering the medication I have prescribed to me. Usually my refills come with bad looks and rude attitudes, not here. Dave, the head Pharmacist, is absolutely amazing. He remembers my name, remembers things I tell him about my son and regularly asks about him too. Every time I have had an issue with anything Dave has been there to help, I can not say enough positive things about Dave and his staff, while not all of them are as good at the pleasantries as Dave is, they are all nice and helpful. It is very refreshing to have a pharmacist who cares about people, it's just a shame they, like similar doctors, are so hard to find nowadays. read more

I can't say enough good things about Walgreens pharmacy. I had trouble finding a medication and they had it for me the next day. Also I need a prior auth for a med and they were on top of it. Unlike CVS who just blow me off. Every time I go in or call on the phone they are super nice and they even called me a few days after getting my medication to see how I was doing. They are 20 miles from my home, but they are worth the drive. read more

Walgreens was very good for awhile, but now it is very difficult if not impossible to pick up a prescription at 28 days. I like to make sure I have enough ahead of time so I do not have to worry about it later. This was never a problem as it was just two days before a 30-day refill. I have to go to Walmart now and there is never a problem. Dave really does try to do his best to solve problems but most of the staff are useless. I have to change pharmacies now. read more

This pharmacy is fine. I just moved from Chicago and there was a very nice woman that was behind the counter who was SO HELPFUL. Even on the phone they were super nice and every time I've been in there the staff has always been fine. They were able to make the transition from Illinois to California stream less. Keep in mind they work their butts off and don't have a lunch except on weekends. Chicago finally threw in the towel and made all staff take a break every day for a half hour. PS all Walgreens are understaffed, but that doesn't mean they don't do an excellent job. And for those that go through a drive through? In my experience no matter where you live, it's long wait times. No one does it. Oh and download the free app for those couponing! It does it for you. You also get extra reward points for tracking steps and sleep. You can rack up free points super fast. And you can refill prescriptions fast that tells you when they're ready! read more

This is very conveniently located for me. It is within walking distance. Easy for me to drop off my prescription and then pick it up later. They have a good selection of the pain relievers I was looking for and they also had the hot pad I needed to get for my low back. Overall a pretty decent drug store. On think I thought worth mentioning is that they have an electric car charger if you have an EV. I don't but I have never seen this in a parking lot before. read more

The pharmacy staff is rude crude and thoroughly incompetent. Be sure to stay away from the guy with the fuzzy beard and black hair. I Was very ill and needed to pick up prescription. they had me wait for over 30 minutes to come back just to throw a couple boxes, prepackaged boxes into a bag. And then after 30 minutes I returned only to be told to wait another 30 minutes. When I finally picked up the prescription that was the time they told me that the most important item that I needed was not available. The tech said it was a very popular item during the cold and flu season, so that's why they didn't have it. You would think that they would want to try and order more of a very popular item during the cold season but he couldn't understand why I was upset about them not having it. And then to add insult to injury when I left and got halfway home I realized that he did not put the original prescription into the bag or give it back to me. When I returned and mentioned it all he could say is "oh I didn't realize you would want it". Seriously?!When I asked him how I was supposed to get the medicine without it he just shrugged his shoulders and said he didn't think about it. Drive up the hill to the Costco, the pharmacy there is outstanding. Not only did they have the prescription I needed they were able to get it to me within 10 minutes. read more

Been using Walgreens for 20+ years. This particular one for a couple of years. No issues in the past. In the past couple of months customer service got really bad. I had to go in person both months to make sure they fill my medication the same day because I'd be on hold for 25-30 mins (true numbers) and every time it was my turn they just hung up. Went there today at 6 to request it to be filled today. The tech said they'll text me when it is ready. Got the text at 6:20. Went to pick it up at 7:20pm. Pharmacy is closed. Phone message said they would be open till 9 as usual. I understand they are busy and short staffed but c'mon... Being on hold for 30mins just to be disconnected 2 months in a row? Sometimes DMV is more responsive than that. At least they don't hang up. Most importantly, why wouldn't the tech tell me they were closing in an hour?! Tomorrow I cannot get there till after 6. That means I will be out of my medication for the whole day. Thanks Walgreens! Great way to treat your loyal customers. Taking my business elsewhere next time. You just lost a long-time customer. read more

I went here just before Christmas looking for a particular small Christmas I had seen at the Burlingame, CA location. I described the tree to the associate and I even showed her the picture I had taken of the tree from Burlingame. The associate told me they didn't have trees I was looking for. Very frustrated, I walked out, got into my car, and just before driving away, I saw the exact tree I was looking for on display in the top window. It's very frustrating when the staff doesn't know exactly what they carry. read more

I went straight from the hospital where I spent 6 days after receiving a double hernia repair. I have a 12 inch incision down my stomach and had complications, so after being discharged all I wanted to do was get my prescription for pain meds and go home to get in the bed. Apparently the pharmacist decided today that he wasn't going to accept any prescription drop off's 40 minutes before they close because he was already behind on orders. My only option was to get my ride (because I can't drive in my condition) to drive me 40 minutes away to the nearest 24 hour Walgreens or give them my prescription and have to wait until 10 a.m. the next morning to pick it up. Even after explaining my situation and letting him know my husband is military and has to report to work in the morning and they opened too late for him to pick it up for me they still didn't care. I was practically bent over the counter in pain and dang near begging them to no avail. I didn't realize the customers have to sacrifice because the pharmacy team was behind on their job. And to be in this field and have no compassion along with such a lack of humanity is appalling. I'm not only in major pain but I'm disgusted. I left the hospital in pain and it looks as though I'll have to remain in pain throughout the night until mid-morning tomorrow. I was looking for a specific item that I couldn't find anywhere target, walmart, CVS nope.... until I came to here I stocked up and was a happy camper thanks walgreens! Unfortunately, we must use this pharmacy because Tricare is our secondary insurance. Most of the time they don't run our prescriptions through both insurances, so we have to hold up the line while they take care of that. They take forever to fill a prescription, and their excuse was they were short staffed. I had a prescription (the strength) changed and the doctor sent in a new prescription but they kept filling the old one and never looked at the new one until I complained a couple of times. Then they didn't have it and told me to come back as they would order additional to make up the 90 I was short. They called me twice regarding this and kept asking me if I got them so I went down to see what the problem was and they only received 50 pills and won't know when the rest will be in. I am short a months supply as far as my doctor knows he thinks I got 180. They said that there is a note on my profile that I only got 50 pills, but the doctor can't see that. All the staff that we complain to admits that their computer system is a mess. If we could find another pharmacy that works with Tricare for Life, we would leave Walgreens. I would not recommend anyone go to them. read more

I was looking at a product on a bottom shelf..and comparing ingredients..prices..(I had to see if the generic was the same as the name brand)and was clearly not waiting in line for a prescription..when I looked up..about four faces from the pharmacy were staring at me. I felt so uncomfortable. Then a man from behind the pharmacy window yells out "Are you picking up a prescription!!?"...I said no.. I felt so weird..I really didn't feel comfortable to look for my other items. I really needed to buy some vitamins..but I was so shooken up and felt so violated..I couldn't concentrate.. I had to leave. Sorry Walgreens..your customer service is awful. I told the manager..and he smirked about it. I guess they don't care if people feel comfortable in their store. read more

I'm a senior with serious health complications. Their pharmacy staff is bar none the finest in the area. I've never waited longer than 15 minutes for a script when I just walk in and never had a wait at the drive through to pick up a called in refill. I have to fill a dozen or more different scripts in a month so I'm here a lot! To the lady complaining about a long drive through line that has never been my experience. But I wouldn't pull up to a drive through intending to wait either. read more

A story to share: last week I went to Walgreens corner of Poway and Community. They told me to come today Tuesday for their shipment. I came today to get one item, hand sanitizer.  I walked around asked the girl where the handsanitizer was she said she was unstocking boxes and would see if it came in. As I went to go to the next isle to get a few items, I saw her take an armful of Purell and run to the back to hide it out of public site. I approached her and she said no it was hand soap gave me a very sour look. Meanwhile the employees were grabbing toilet paper during their work time and putting it in the back for themselves. I went to the front to buy a few items and asked the cashier to get a bottle for me. She then called the manager and I told him the employee lied to me and hid the hand sanitizes in the back. He went to the back and got me a bottle.The manager said they put them in the back because they have no room on their shelves. The shelf was completely bare. As I left the 10 people in line saw what happened.The man behind me asked for a bottle the manager told him they had no more. Wow, not only do the employees lie but the store manager is in the lie as well. A story worth sharing! read more

Yeah, I will never go to this Walgreens again. Thank gosh Walmart is right across the street. So I went here to get 3 pictures printed to make for posters for my husband's homecoming. The pictures took a few minutes to print out, which was no problem. But then the girl showed me the pictures and one thing I immediately noticed was that one of the pictures was cut off. I asked the girl why it did that and she was very rude. Her tone was extremely impatient and she said it was my fault for editing it. I didn't edit anything! My friend, who was with me, printed out 2 pictures before me and hers came out fine. I told the girl I didn't edit anything and she just seemed to get more irritated with me. So in my head I just said fuck-it and paid the $2 for the pictures. Then I get home and noticed another one was cut off even more worst than the other one. I didn't notice it at the store because I was really wanting to just get away from this girl and her attitude, but I will never go back here again! Customer service is a huge thing to me and when it's delivered very poorly, don't expect people to want to return. read more
