This is one of the best and most pleasant Costcos. They have two additional services which most other Costcos do not: a car wash ($7.99) and propane refill ($13 to refill my 20 gallon tank). The car wash isn't the greatest. I still had some bird poop remnants after passing through, but you get what you pay for. Most importantly, because this store is in the middle of nowhere, at least by Southern California standards, it's relatively quiet in comparison to other locations. read more

How have I not written a review on this Costco location yet. This location is a little bit further for us but honestly it is worth the little bit further of the drive. The parking here is never super crazy and even if you park in one of the last row of parking it really is not far of a walk to the store. We also discovered this location has a car wash as well as a gas station. We didn't do the car wash this time but I am definitely interested in doing it in the future. We came on a Sunday morning which sounds dangerous for a Costco trip but it was truly not that bad we were able to walk right up to the front of the line and the guys working were super helpful and just scanned everything from the cart. I am very disappointed in the way one of the employees treated a customer. The customer had all their food and was ready to pay but they couldn't because their membership needed to be renewed. They tried to pay for it right then and there but they wouldn't let them pay because they weren't using a debit card. I think this is so embarrassing for the customer especially when the employee is being rude to them. read more

Aloha all! Do I dare go to Costco without a shopping list? Well ..I did and walking from aisle to aisle I ended up impulse buying like so many others. There is just too many deals to pass up. From groceries to home goods and electronics, it's all here under one roof. The staff here are all so friendly and eager to help find whatever you're looking for. No matter what Costco's are always busy, somehow though this Costco seems easy for me to navigate though most of the time. Easy being down the street from my office so great to hit on the way home (usually always run into people from work hehehe). Great variety and the layout of the store is nice and open. I'm officially a Costco convert... though I avoided it for years for a very valid reason: I have zero self-control and tend to leave with things I never planned to buy. That said, I love that they have everything and the prices are genuinely reasonable. This location is my favorite because both the staff and the shoppers are noticeably friendlier--even during peak rush hour, which says a lot. My only real complaint is the organization. I'm terrible at finding things, and when everything seems to be next to everything else, it turns into a bit of a treasure hunt. I was on the way to the gun range with friends and wanted to grab quick meal at Costco. As I was on my way to Costco, approximately 3 to 4 miles out a Costco employee drove up to us and flipped us off and made a racial gesture at us after honking at me from two to three cars back at the traffic light because I was delayed to accelerate due to spilling my drink on my shirt. As we proceed down the street he started to cutting us off. When reached another stop light he was next to me I got out of the car and confronted him and he rolled up his window and called me a F***ing chink. As we reached Costco and got our food I saw him walking into Costco with his gears. I went to ask the entrance lady what was his name so I can report him to the manager, but she claim she only knows him by the nickname Cuddly or Cuddy. I went to the other side, and spoke to a manager named Dan and told him the story. When we started the conversation he wanted to brush the issue off because he told me he didn't know the person by the that nickname. After we carry the conversation further he said he knows who that person is, but he can't do anything because his not on the clock today. I told him racial discrimination does not matter he is on the clock now or not, but it pertains to the working environment it affects other minorities worker in a business environment. I told him I can email the headquarters regarding this issue. Then he took down my information and said he will talk to the individual and call me later. read more

Very disappointing experiences with receipt checker named Scott at the Poway Costco today. I have already submitted feedback to Costco, but I wanted to share my concern. This was not the first time I experienced this from him. He did not greet me, make eye contact, or acknowledge me, while he was friendly and talkative with other customers. Today, I even tried to say hello first, but he completely ignored me. My 2-year-old child always looks forward to the receipt checker drawing a happy face on the receipt, but Scott did not acknowledge my child at all multiple times. It may seem like a small gesture, but it is something my child enjoys and remembers during our Costco visits. I hope Costco will look into this matter. A simple greeting and a little kindness can make a big difference in a customer's experience. read more

I came early so I could find a spot to park close to the entrance. I finally found one. I use the ADA parking and all the ADA parking was full by the executive members by the time I arrived. This Costco is like going to Santa's Workshop in the North Pole. There is everything you can imagine here....Gas Station, Tire Center, Propane Tank fill station, Car Wash, plus all the normal stuff. So you could get a tire rotation, fill your propane tanks, wash your car, get gas, while eating a $1.50 hot dog with a fountain drink. The parking issues you might see at most Costcos are not an issue here. I might have to park a little further away but I never have any problems finding a spot down by the tire center. The downside is that this Costco is in the middle of nowhere. I feel like I'm driving forever to get here. That is actually the only downside. This Costco is pretty awesome. read more

Went here to pick up a prescription and decided to do some light shopping. Decided to use the self service checkout and the first item that I scanned was their package of croissant. The machine told me to remove the item after I scanned it which I did because maybe the weight was off? Anyways, scanned more items and of course I bought the 2 pastries that I needed help assistance with from the Costco worker. The female Middle Eastern Costco worker came up to assist and counted the items that I scanned and I told her that I scanned the croissant and it told me to remove the item. She grabs the package of croissant that I had in my shopping cart and placed it on the "weighing area" just to have her override the item again because she said "the croissant needs to be here". But does it really though because if she thinks that I'm trying to steal a package of croissant after I scanned it already she is tripping. Costco online screwed me this Black Friday season. On 11/27 I ordered a product from Costco online. The item was in stock and on sale. Found it weird though as they charged me then credited me back. I called to get order status on 12/3, a day before it was supposed to arrive, and the status said it was on track. On 12/4, I got an email that my order was cancelled as the item is no longer in stock. My problem is that I could have bought the product from various other retailers, all of which had some sort of sale. This is an apple product so quite expensive. It got even better!! Yesterday I received the attached letter and $30 gift card from Costco. It turns out they negotiated a better deal and passed the savings onto their members. The workers here are kind, bright, and helpful. Products are never out of stock. The parking lot is somehow ALWAYS FULL but people aren't too bad. I recently had some produce that spoiled within a day of purchasing and the return process was so quick and so easy. Me and my partner went to check out, cashier named Glenn scans my partners Costco card, after Glenn rings up our order I scan my credit card. This is how we have paid at Costco for the last 5 years with 0 problems, but Glenn took issue with this because I used my credit card instead of my partner. Glenn began to berate us. This is the Poway Costco on Scripps Poway Parkway. This has one of the better food court set ups in my opinion. They have rolling garage door options when weather becomes an issue. Their hot dog game is on point, their pizza game lacks the combo pizza dreadfully. As for the interior, I think their produce section is lagging behind performance wise. I like this Costco - I have not have a problem here besides the one time where lines just went insane back in March 2020 as there was a panic over toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Costco wasn't the only one, it was plenty of other stores that also went through the same thing. Staff has always been very cheerful during my visits here, which is every week/every other week or so. Parking does not take too long to find, probably longer if you go during rush hour. Mandatory to wear a mask upon entering, and they sanitize the carts nearby the door. Lines go through pretty quickly and also they have plexiglass set up at the cashiers. read more

Possibly the best Costco in SD. It's the same size as all the other Costcos but because it's not in the center of a busy area, it's a little less busy. There's always parking and never a super long line. There's also multiple ways to enter and exit, you never get stuck waiting at an intersection. They do have a gas station but it's actually closer to the Home Depot so the gas line will not impact any traffic for actual parking. read more

I saw two kids who were probably six and eight alone in their car playing with the steering wheel and gear shift, so I called Costco and this man asked me the make and the model, where the car was located, How old Old I thought the kids were, he asked me every question you could ask. After all that, he says to me, so what do you want me to do about it? What's the point of asking me all those questions if you had no intentions of sending security to go out and look, or even paging the owner of the car. He told me to call the cops. Little did he know I was already on hold with nonemergency, which they never ended up answering, I just stayed until the parents showed up. Then I ended my call to nonemergency that I was on for like 20 minutes. This guy was rude, insensitive. Nonemergency wasn't answering so I thought maybe the warehouse could do a small gesture as far as paging the parents or even sending security to make sure they were ok... my bad, I guess Costco doesn't care much.
