I transferred my prescriptions here because they have a drive-thru window and they do answer the telephone. But I am no longer going to use them. I needed a pain prescription filled, I was in severe pain from a procedure. The doctor made a small error which prevented them from filling the prescription. When I called because it was delayed, they were rude, told me it was not their fault, and that I should call the doctors office myself. I finally got the doctor to fix the prescription, but then got a message from the pharmacy that they needed another 90 minutes to fill the prescription, by which time I had no way to pick it up. I called them to ask if they could expedite it and they refused. Then I called to see if the prescription could be delivered and that was not possible either. The person on the phone accused me of being rude and "cussing her out" which I absolutely did not do, and hung up on me. I was in severe pain and really needed my medication, which I ended up not being able to get until the next day. I was not rude or inappropriate, Instead, the staff were insensitive, unsympathetiic, unhelpful, and rude to me. I will be transferring all of my prescriptions and never entering that store again. read more

First of all, I tried to fill my prescriptions with online app and it was verified. I showed up at the store and they had no record of this transaction. The answer that the pharmacy staff person gave me was that it's a corporate problem, not their problem. Pharmacy staff is extremely unhelpful and quite rude. No customer service skills at all. Without getting into too many personal details I'll just say that I gladly returned my prescriptions to CVS. read more

Unfortunately, my insurance mandates that I use Walgreens pharmacy. I want to report my interaction with the pharmacist at Walgreens, North Main Street, Providence,RI. He would not give me his name except "Alex". I was post-op, sitting in the car in severe pain, when my husband came back to the car, saying that it would be 20 minutes to fill the prescription for pain. I went into the store and asked nicely if he could please expedite the fill. He then said (with a great deal of attitude), "what do you expect me to do?! I just got this prescription!!!!" I was too floored by the attitude to respond. Afterwards, I asked for his name and he said that it was against company policy to reveal anything other than first names. I am a healthcare provider and I know that he should have expressed some degree of empathy, not with hostility. This Walgreen's can be summed up in one word: Scaryville. Dimly lit, dusty displays, little to no staff... Maybe it's because I was there late at night, maybe it's because it's on the town line, maybe it's just because it's a Walgreens (and these places do not seem to do well in a town dominated by CVS), but this place sure is creepy. The largest drugstore chain and Chicago base. As a transplanted from Chicago to Providence, this is the only place that reminded me of home. Weird isn't it. But you can always relay every location is always up to par. I understand that CVS and Rite Aid is everywhere, but I will always go out of my way to stop by this Walgreen's. They have EVERYTHING in a tiny store. Food? Medication? Notebook? Batteries? CD play? Film? Gloves? Ice Scraper? Roses? Cleaning products? Smoke? Magazines? Toaster? HDMI Cable? They have it all! I recommend this and any Walgreen's to anyone that needs a list minute item... I'm sure they have it! read more

Pharmacy staff is HORRENDOUS and will treat you like human trash! The big african american guy will tell you to wait 20 min and never calls you back , even though your meds have been sitting there for an hour. Why would you hire people who so clearly hate their job ???? Drive through people get served immediately though, maybe that's what we should have done...!! read more

I change my health insurance to my company's insurance which requires the employees to use Walgreens. My God, ever since I have had nothing but problems with getting my prescriptions correct. It was mandated by my existing company to fill for 90 days or it will not go through. I called to make the change in March and here it is November and they still don't have it right, and when they did, I decided to count the pills in my 90 day script and found there only 60 pills. What a nightmare. Thank God For Randy, he has change my attitude toward this location. Went to the store this morning, was greeted with professionalism and integrity, handled the problem I had and set things right again. Thanks again Randy for your service. read more

So, Walgreens has had senior hours 8-9am every Tuesday since covid. Before covid, it was the first Tuesday of the month. Ok. Ive waited for each Tuesday to get what I need. Everytime I go, Madelena won't give me the senior discount saying, I don't look like a senior or how old are you ( which is none of her business), but i end up getting the discount after much anguish. So, today being Tuesday, at 8:15am I shopped $88 worth of product expecting 20%disount for seniors. She says nothing about discontinuing every Tuesday discount. She was so happy when I asked for the discount so she could say oh we stopped that...now, its just the first tuesday of the month. She has forever been rude and I will NEVER shop at Walgreens again.. is this the type of person you want representing your store. God, i hope not. read more

Don't come here if you're looking for anything more than the bare essentials. This isn't a place to socialize, peruse or hang out. It is the spot for stocking up on overpriced goods and drugs of all varieties. The aisles are clean, the store is well-lit and the parking lot is spacious, which is less a compliment than a statement that they meet minimum standard. The couple screaming at each other about body wash in the parking lot as I left was the highlight of my visit. read more

I had to start using this Walgreens after mine closed. The pharmacists have all been very helpful. I hada difficult time transferring my prescriptions, getting new ones from my doctors. Over all it was a pain, but they did a great job making the transition much easier. Walgreens pharmacists have always gone above to help. A good note to know, if you go to use the pharmacy drive thru, they can't see you pull up so you need to hit the call button. the inside of the store is clean well lit and I've always had good service. read more

24hours and everything ya need in a convenience store. The people are friendly enough and by this point get my pack of smokes ready for me. Its within walking distance and i guess that makes me bias but it's still a clean friendly and well, convenient convenience store. read more

The Walgreens on Pitman street is the first place I went to get a prescription. I called to verify the script was ready for pickup, as my doctor told me it should be. They had no idea... I then had to reread my insurance information multiple times only to be told "your numbers are weird" and "not working". I know the card and insurance is good, I just went to the doctor that day no problem. So I offer to go to the store to show my card in person. I get there and the woman takes 30 minutes to tell me my insurance doesn't cover it. I'm not paying $300. I call my doctor and insurance and they have to call Walgreens to tell them they are wrong, it is in fact covered. They contact me after 30min-hour unable to reach Walgreens. I decide to walk back over in person (second time) . I get to the location before my insurance I'm on the phone with even connects with them. (This is insane!) another hour passes and I'm finally told that they don't have the script I need and to go to this location. All the while, the customer service was non existent and the staff were obviously incompetent and added a lot of stress to my situation. In the snow, I drive to the location they tell me has the script. Again, horrible treaMent by Walgreens staff and I wait another hour while they try and fix the previous locations mess. Another hour passes. After 3+ hours of Walgreens hell, I get the script that should have taken 15 min tops. I'm never going through this at Walgreens again, obviously they have systemic failures at their pharmacy locations. Switching to CVS. read more

I use Walgreens primarily for my prescriptions. I switched to this location about a year ago because it was near work and I have a job where I am on the run, and have to make appointments so it would be more convenient. In the past I have had some problems similar to those detailed on this Yelp page. This month I had to refill my script. I stopped by Walgreens and dropped off the bottle on monday morning. They asked if i wanted to wait - i said no, I can just stop back tomorrow. Late Tuesday morning I stopped by and ran in. When I get there the person says "Oh we haven't filled that yet. Why don't you wait and we'll do it now." I said I had to go, but let them know I'd stop back in the afternoon. On my lunch I go back hoping to run in as I had a few appointments to make. I can see them all bumbling behind the counter. I asked whats up, and they told me - "oh we're putting it together right now for you." Again I said "I'm sorrry - I gotta go." WTF - I finally had time to go back and get it thursday. There was never a line at all in the times I went there. WHat is the purpose of dropping it off, if they wait till you come back in to fill the script? read more

The pharmacy staff is lazy. They won't tell you they can call your doctors office to change your prescription to a cheaper alternative. Instead they let you pay the high amount because they don't feel like calling your doctors office. The girl with brown hair is too soft spoken to fully want to assist you. After asking why my prescription was so expensive she just started at me and shook her head. I asked her if there was anything I can do to get it for cheaper, she said no. Her manager told me to get over the counter medicine. I went back in the next day (because they didn't have what I needed the first day and had to deliver it) and again the SAME thing happened. I told her I was going to the doctors to have it changed to something cheaper AND AGAIN she didnt say that she can call and talk to my doctor. My doctor tells me that I can have them call and that they should've called for me. When I ask her about it she said "you never asked me to call" with such an attitude. Don't go to this Walgreen's pharmacy. Go anywhere else. The customer service is horrible at that pharmacy. The employees who don't work in the pharmacy are awesome. I love this Walgreen's. Like the reviewer before me, it reminds me of home except it's way better than my home one. It's open 24/7 and the staff are always friendly, actually the best customer service I've had in a long time. They're always smiling and ask to help. The pharmacy is quick and they know their stuff. They are helpful with any questions and go out of their way to help. The stock is pretty good, I always find what I need. 4 stars because after 10pm it gets really sketchy, and the staff quality gets worse, but that's what happens in a 24 hour store in summit! read more
