Went in here today to get my pictures scanned and copied onto a CD (hate the fact that some photo studios charge for pictures and don't have electronic copies or they charge a ridiculous amount for digital copies). A sign said that they were temporarily down and it looked like their guys were frisking around the machines trying to fix it. One of the clerks there, Justin, helped me scan my pictures and I don't know why the kiosks said that it would take like five more days for me to pick up my digital pictures on a CD but Justin burned the pictures in a matter of minutes and rang up my transaction and signed me up for a club card so I could buy a frame and get the second one free for my pictures. While I shopped with my wife for other miscellanous items he helped out two other elderly lady who were getting in touch with today's technology and were fascinated by the fact that they can grab pictures from their phones. This place is way understaffed. It is busy and extremely slow. Do not go here if you can avoid it. I have Come here a multiple times over the past 5 years, every time the wait is much longer than expected or necessary. Even when there are not many people in line. The staff seems to be working hard, they are running around but it seems very unorganized, they have the same person doing multiple different jobs. This pharmacy needs a major overhaul, things need to be more streamlined and they need more help. This review is only for the Pharmacy, I you have prescriptions go somewhere else. Sounds weird but they run out of items here, and then they don't call you back to let you know the status. Your experience at this Walgreens will depend on a few factors.: Time of Day Homeless:customer ratio Pharmacy Staff If you go in after work to get your prescription, you're gonna have a bad time. That's when everyone else is doing the same thing. Prepare to wait a long time. Pretty much any time that is convenient for you is also convenient for everyone else. Going at inconvenient times will actually be more convenient. I'm not a big fan of the creepy addict people hanging around Walgreens, but that's par for the course in this area. Pharmacy staff - there are some techs who are awesome who will do whatever they can to help you out. Then there are some techs who are lazy and/or incompetent. They can make your life miserable. I hate that they bring down the rating for the pharmacy, especially since there are many other competent and caring techs and pharmacists who do a great job. A special commendation to the make-up counter guy who is way more friendly and customer service oriented than anyone I've come across in a pharmacy. You rock make-up counter guy! read more

Dropped off RX here at 6:30am. There was one person in front of me. He said it would take about 20 minutes. He got me out of there in 10 minutes. Place seemed clean and standard layout of all Walgreens. But, seemed a little seedy. Probably the location. I really really needed my RX, so thats why I gave it such high marks. This Pharmacy just does not care about customers. They say they're open till 9 p.m. but if you get there anywhere around 8:40 845 even if there's no one there they'll say we can't take any more customers because we have to close down well I think they should close down after 9 especially when you drive all the way there and you need medication. Really mean Chinese lady just won't budge. I think they need to fire her I wish I knew her name.. I asked for her name and she wouldn't give it to me she writes her phone number down and closes the window and won't come back. They tell you to drive all the way out to El Cajon. This is for the Pharmacy only. The cold as ice pharmacist told me a price of $42.50 on the prescription I was having filled for my father without insurance. I was told to wait 30 minutes. Fine, I started looking around. When I returned she handed me the bag and said it will be $81. This is with no expression or personality at all. I said, no you told me $42.50. She was like well it costs more than I thought. Whatever. I will not use this pharmacy again. And get a personality if you are going to be doing customer service. OK? Promptly went to Shelter Island Drugs where I was treated kindly and they found they could save me additional money using twice as much pills with a lower dose. Funny, not funny, my recent review was deleted?! Anyway, run far away from this pharmacy. The employees and pharmacist staff are rude and incompetent. I'm a cancer patient undergoing chemo and they gave me AND my doctors a very difficult time filling prescriptions- utilizing unauthorized authority to make easy situations difficult for no apparent reason. Consistently operate outside their established roles. Look, if you wanted to be a doctor then you should've finished medical school. My situation is pretty easy considering I have cancer and am doing chemo. These out of control pharmacists have no empathy and as much as they say they are following the "rules"; they are unable to provide subject "rule" or provide any reasonable explanation. To top it off, when I requested full names to report to their management one kiddo said, "I don't have to!" Lolololol. Amazing customer service. I was trying on different lipstick colors. One of the male employees working the cosmetics section helped me out. He assisted me in selecting colors as I purchased and exchanged until I found the perfect pink to ring in the new year. Christmas stuff is at a steep discount. Typical Walgreens. If there's anything here worth noting it's that this Walgreens has perhaps the best location of all the businesses in this highly congested intersection in Loma Portal. Because it's sitting right on the corner, drivers are able to quickly enter and exit the parking lot off Rosecrans. It's a wonderful, easy, time-saving option. We frequent this Walgreens because of the photo options. It is so cheap and easy to order and print decent photos from a phone so we rarely use our printer anymore. It's just too easy. We've yet to have an issues with this store. 4 stars. Definitely a fan. read more

My review is only about the photo center: I ordered a photo album including pictures by my professional photographer. I called Walgreens before I got there to ask if my order was ready to pick up. The lady on the phone confirmed. When I got there I got told by the manager that I need a release form by my photographer to prove that I'm allowed to use the photos. I wish they would have told me this when I called or it would be shown on the homepage. When I told the manager in a nice way that It would have been helpful to get informed about this or at least to find it on the homepage she told me that there isn't enough space on the homepage to put all that information ... alright ... no comment on that nonsense but the story isn't over here. I told her I can talk to my photographer to ask if she can send the form via email, sounded good to the manager. Luckily my photographer was able to send me the form of release (including all information needed plus digital signature) and I showed it to the manager but guess what: the manager changed her mind and told me they need it as original paper with signature - I don't know why they couldn't say it at the beginning... at that point I was done and canceled my order... read more

I went to the drive thru to get my prescription without needing to go inside because I was in so much pain... the pharmacy tech told me to go around and wait in line again (because someone was behind me) or go inside and pick up my order... I went around in a circle on their request and it was honestly a waste of my time... and the tech was rude about it but I was in too much pain to make a big deal about it.. Literally the rudest pharmacist of my life. The pharmacist put in my insurance wrong and so it didn't go through. I kept asking him to try again and he refused even though I was showing the insurance card I always use. He treated me disrespectfully and told me he didn't have time to deal with me. When I got home I realized I was short 17 pills on a 40 pill order. I called and told me for some reason they split my 17 pills and had it waiting for me on the counter, if I wanted to come back in and get them. Very convenient if you ask me. this is the absolute worst pharmacy. go absolutely anywhere else. their pharmacists are ALWAYS unhelpful, refuse to fill medications because they can't look up or input your information correctly, do not contact you if there's a problem filling your prescription, never communicate with your doctor unless you call and directly ask them to or you stand at the window and ask them to. it took 3 months for me to get a medication filled because of their constant mistakes. and if you try to advocate for yourself they are insanely rude. do not use this pharmacy. read more

This is worst Walgreens I've ever been. Customer service is very poor. I really had a bad experience checking out because of Emeret and manager Robyn. Emeret is so rude. I just asked her if she scanned the beauty flyer because of the Beauty event happening in their store but I was so surprised when she answered back with high tone. I feel so embarrassed and I hold my tears because the line is so long and she kept talking and bragging about how she does her job. They didn't even know walgreens policy about price Match. They get upset at me when I told them that the morning manager did a price match for me one time. And kept telling (Emeret and Robyn) that they don't do that. I guess it's time for them to be educated about their policy. But thanks to Brenda who rescued me that night. Loooooong waits at the pharmacy and not the friendliest of staff. I was walking through the store waiting for my prescription to be filled and I overheard an employee tell another employee, "I wish I had a BB gun to pick these people off." Then she laughed as I made eye contact with her. I was appalled. I'm shocked at the lack of customer service this store has both at the pharmacy, the photo section and the front register. Wow! You know how one bad experience can cause you to just drop someone or something. This morning I had that at this Walgreen's. I left the ER with acute bronchitis at 1:35 am, tired and just wanting to get my meds. I called ahead to ask if the pharmacy was open and the Pharmacist/tech answered the phone and said yes. I said ok great I am on my way. I arrive about 12 minutes later to find the Pharmacy closed with a sign that says "Pharmacy closed for lunch from 2:15 - 2:45". You would have thought that he would mention that on the phone, especially since he was closing WELL before 2:15. He grabs my prescriptions from me and goes in the back to key it in then he comes back out abruptly and says what sounded like "Ms. King"... please note my last name is not King nor was the name on the prescription. "UM I CAN FILL THIS BUT YOU HAVE LIKE A CRAZY DEDUCTIBLE"... I was like no, I don't. I have been filling prescriptions like CRAZY between allergies and normal meds. So, he goes back and comes out and says "have you been picking up the birth control"... I give a "WTF face" because I have never had an active birth control prescription. I tell him that and ask if he has the right person. He goes back behind the door and comes out asking me if my birthday is wrong. I have been getting prescriptions filled with Walgreens ALL OVER THE COUNTRY since 2000 and NO one has ever had a problem looking me up in the system. I am assuming he was in a hurry to head on his hour long break. He then folds my prescription paper in half (which annoyed the shit out of me) and says "Um, I have to go on break. I thought I could do this quickly but I have to go on break. I am legally required. And this is taking a long time."I wanted to say "because you are Effing fatfingering my prescription!!!". He asks if I still want him to put the order in and I say "No, I will go somewhere else in the morning as I am not waiting an hour when I clearly called ahead." I have dealt with slow waits with pharmacy before and prescription times that should be ten minutes turn into 30 and yea, I am super over it. I just stuck with them out of convenience because they were once more locations than CVS and Rite Aid. Starting tomorrow, I will be transferring every prescription I have to CVS pharmacy. Done with your crappy service Walgreens. JUST DONE! Also, let me note that I walked in wearing with one of those thin bags/that you can wear as a backpack or over your shoulder and the cashier yells "Ma'am you need to leave your bag up here!" Another cashier walks up and says, "she's good!" I look at him and say, " this is my purse and I am not leaving it up there. Eff outta here." He laughs and shakes his head at the other guy and says again, "Nah man she's good!" Thank God for him because I was not having it. read more

Not only did she enthusiastically offer to check me out so that I didn't have to stand in a dreadfully long line, confess the soft drink I was about to purchase was BOGO free, but she also gave me the cutest pink makeup bag. Horrible customer service in the pharmacy, made me wait 50 minutes before they called my insurance.

I went to their pharmacy to get a flu shot and the pharm tech took ten minutes to fill out all the paperwork, once she finished she turned to another tech and asked where the flu shots were. The other pharmacy tech responded that they have been out of the flu shots. Politely I asked whether or not any other Walgreens had shots left and their response was rudely no, it's kinda late, all the stores are out. I went back to my car a figured why not try and call another Walgreens pharmacy to just check, of course the one two miles away has shots still. Know what you have in stock especially during flu season and don't tell customers that you know no other Walgreens has flu shots when you don't know for a fact. Or at least be courteous and ask the customer if they would like for you to call another store and ask. Customer service and satisfaction was completely lacking. read more

I go here pretty frequently and every time they are too focused on fraternizing then helping customers. Also they did not have the prescription I needed and said I needed to drive all the way to Encinitas or Chula Vista to fill it instead of fixing the problem.
