Don't trust them. They lied to me and told me that my doctor canceled and closed my prescription, but my doctor's office said that wasn't true. First time at this location. Glad they have underground parking on this busy street area. What I came for was unavailable. Shelves seemed to be half filled and many items were locked in a case or locked in general. Must be a hassle to purchase anything but I assume it's due to high theft rate in the area. Shelves were also dusty-just seemed very depressing to be in here although the visit was quick. I did not purchase anything as what I needed was not there. 3 stars for the store displays and just environment in general. Can't say much about the workers since I didn't interact with them but I think they were doing their job appropriately. I came to pick up medication for my grandmother. Location very busy for pharmacy needs. Somehow they only have one cashier at the Pharmacy area while there are a lot of pharmacist behind the counter not helping that one cashier. Always a long line waiting even if your medications are ready! It have your basic essential needs here. The location is the only thing I like about it, they have parking structure. Disgusting!!!!! I am appalled that a store will allow a dog OFF leash inside where food is sold. This dog was NOT a Service Animal! When I spoke to the store manager he "Scott" stated "as long as they behave we don't care"!!! First off it's the law in California that dogs are always leashed! First time here. There is street parking and there is a covered car port parking area as well. It's your average stalked Walgreens with all your essentials-toiletries, snacks, toys, cleaning supplies etc. I had to pick up a prescription for someone, the pharmacy was very busy but the wait wasn't too long at all as long as your prescription is ready for pick up. Staff at the pharmacy and the regular check out area were very friendly. The only reason I would come back is because I didn't like the surrounding area much and I didn't like being bothered by strangers as I am entering and exiting the business. read more

The most unprofessional pharmacy I have EVER encountered. One cashier was yelling at employees and customers. I went for my covid vaccine. I had an appointment on 3/19 at 11;45 with an 11:30 check in. I was 5 minutes early and waited at the COVID VACCINE window for over 25 minutes and no one showed up. I finally asked the gal next door doing the prescriptions what the deal was, am I in the wrong spot etc. She kept promising me someone would show up meanwhile looking in the back at an female Asian pharmacist who was doing "other things" and was not respondent to the gal informing her she had appointments waiting. After someone went up to the pharmacy window and getting helped stating they had an appointment I was like 'are you her for the vaccine?'. She ignored me and some customer in CROCKS (ugh) told me to chill out I told him to mind his own business and a brief argument ensued. Finally the female who was SUPPOSED to be helping us came out and then yelled am to sit down there was another person in front of me. I was like what? I am the only one standing here for over 20 minutes. She said another lady waiting in a chair in another area was ahead of me. HOW TF was I supposed to know that? Why are you yelling at me so unprofessionally? Anyhow. BOTTOM LINE: They are the most unorganized, unprofessional, rude, incompetent workers I have ever encountered. After I jumped through the bitchy ladies requests, filled out a bunch of paperwork, well they took in someone that came in AFTER me and vaccinated him. It took all my composure not to freak tf out. After OVER ONE hour and ONE person in front of me I finally got my vaccination. Then I was given some horrible photo copy vaccine card that looked like it was whited out and recopied. Not a card at all just a horrible photo copy. I took my room mate to get hers at family Health Centers and the gave her a REAL vaccination card (hard and thick card, not a large cheap copy paper). I would like to find out a way to get Chau fired as well! He is extremely rude and very lazy. I managed to come in early to avoid longer wait times at the pharmacy. My boss had allowed me to leave work that morning to drop off a prescription, instead of taking time out of my own lunch schedule. When I arrived, I initially felt relieved. There were no customers, which could mean less wait but I assumed WRONG! For 15 minutes, I stood there, waiting alone and NO OTHER customers. Chau was behind his computer screen, did not acknowledge me for a long time. Finally, "Can I help you?" I gave him my prescription, he took a while to verify my address and proceeds to check if has my medication. He lets me know he doesn't have it in stock, so I ask him if he could check on a location where it's available. Chau tells me "NO, just go to the other store one on University" I asked him if he could call to make see, otherwise I would be heading for no reason. All Walgreens has helped in this situation. It's standard customer care he does not uphold for this company. He turned it into MY job instead of his to figure out where this medication would be. He questioned my experience with other Walgreens being able to locate my meds and send me to a different Walgreen location. He made an excuse that is was the "type of medication" reason he could not check. How is that possible to not communicate within your company and amongst other pharmacist about meds internally. CALL! It's not up to the customer to find out or guess. That's not the process I was use to? I could only imagine a truly sick patient dealing with this man to get medication. The "waiting" was longer than having 5 people ahead of me and the experience with his attitude was worse than anyone I have ever met in the healthcare industry. Lastly, I told him I was a nurse, and he should not be rude. You don't know what people are going through. Most customers are sick, they come to the pharmacy for medication that may or may not help their health issues. Just because they are not in a typical "health setting" and at a convenience store/ "pharmacy". He should still treat them like patients. You don't know what people are going through. Have some empathy. Do not to give them additional stress, attitude and argue with them. It was highly unnecessary. Just because Chau's work may have shifted "priorities" due to the pharmacy tech out on break with Chau attending the front window, he should not have acted it's not within his scope to enter, check meds or provide patient care. read more

Mr. Chau needs to be FIRED. Went in for a simple vaccination record and he was so rude. He said he could not do it even though I got a vaccination record there before. I couldn't believe how rude and condescending he was. As I was walking away I told him I would be back because I was going to need him to sign a form for my work stating they couldn't give me the records. She'd gon the extra mile to find the fact that this entire time my prescriptions should have been free! I've recently moved to California from the Midwest, and that's a big change (especially in price) lol. So, I've been spending quite a bit on medicine my past couple of trips to the pharmacy considering how many medications I have to take. I've been seeing more and more Walgreens popping up all over San Diego. This one has been around only a couple years, the building it's housed in also has Baja pizza(which is awesome) and Fruitlandia. There is a ground level parking structure accessible from Fairmount St. and 43rd(one-way). The upper levels of the building are condos and I think there's even an old folks home on the other side and City Heights Square Mini Park. Anyways this Walgreens is smaller than most of the freestanding one's, but they have everything you'd expect from Walgreens. Expensive medicine and slightly cheaper Walgreens brands of the same(which is just as good). One thing I kinda had to get used to it the card payment system. It's like I'm taking a multiple choice test every time I have to swipe my card. And there's no actual "line" for the registers. It's kinda like waiting for the ATM, there's one generally formed line and you go to the next available register. And sometimes that can be a long wait, especially when there are 2 open and 4 other employees standing around talking(maybe they're about to clock out?). I've never had any complaints about actual customer service though. Most of the employees are younger people but they always smile and always "check in the back" when they're out of something on the shelves. They also have a nice snacks and goodies section which is good if you just want a bag of chips, or ice cream late at night. All in all, good location, plenty of free garage parking, and excellent customer service. read more

Just your typical Walgreens! But surprisingly it's well stocked in almost all departments! Especially lipsticks in make-up I feel like whoever does the stocking at Walgreens needs to do the stocking at Walmart or at least teach them. The entrance is pretty narrow and once you go into the parking lot you'll have to go all the way around a street to hit the freeways. I like the cashiers here at night, they're very kind! Did the flu shot and felt very comfortable. Shot was given in a private room that appeared nice and clean. I don't like shots and the pharmacist was very gentle. Didn't feel a thing. We had two appointments set up for this location to get the booster. Asked where we can check in for appointments set for 1:15 and 1:30 for the vaccine and she directed me to wait in a line that seemed to be for medication pick-up. Very unorganized and careless because if she would have checked the system to let me know there are no appointments set during those times I was clearly waiting for, I wouldn't have had to waste time. They all talked in the back without regard to quickly help those waiting. All for the same person to call me up and ask when my appointments are and that no appointments would be set during that time since they go to lunch. I even showed the confirmation text, but clearly there was nothing she could do to help. She knew what she did there. Unprofessional and inconsiderate. This is why even living in the neighborhood, I wouldn't recommend having anything to do with this place. I would rather drive a few minutes to a more professional location. read more
