The prices have increased, which is to be expected since everything else has gone up, but, $100 for something that's very clearly broken or missing pieces is just insane. Physically I had some residual tension and pain from fracturing my knee earlier last year, and mentally/emotionally I was exhausted and grieving from some big life changes. She listened carefully and tended to all my needs. Such a gentle, caring person. I have had time to meet Carrie, the magical creator of these two wellness spots, and you can see why this place is the Phenomenal place that it is. Cora has always done an amazing job with my hair and my first visit was for a color, cut, highlight and a pre-wedding up do. The entire experience was great, and my hair really looked fabulous...the color was perfect and she really listens to the style you are seeking for up dos! I hired Cora to come out to Peaks Island to do mine and my wedding party's hair and makeup - she is such a joy to be around and is so positive and fun. I lost count on all the heads she worked on, as many boys and men also got cuts and styles along with the girls! Cora also brought an airbrush makeup machine and applied falsies which really helped finish off the look! I highly recommend Cora and A Style for You as a hairdresser but also for events. My family and I were patients for over 20 years here... I had a procedure that never should have…read morebeen done as it is destined to fail, unbeknownst to me and documented in literature. We had trusted Dr. Knudsen. We were shocked by his behavior and failure to take responsibility in this situation. We would later come to find that several other patients had similar experiences. We moved on to a wonderful dentist in Portland who thankfully had the expertise to correct the situation. Sadly, in today's world it has become more about money than what is ethically correct. We had two independent professional opinions confirm that the procedure was in fact known to fail and never should have been done. Efforts to resolve this situation in a respectful manner and get compassionate help for a painful situation were totally disrespected by Dr. Knudsen. As professionals ourselves, we were very saddened after all these years to leave a long standing relationship on these terms.
