The biggest and best pharmacy and dry goods store in Santa Clara, and right on the El Camino Real near City Hall (more or less). Accessible by public transport and bicycle, and of course certainly by auto, a really great location and helpful, really helpful staff. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PHARMACY!!!!! Asian lady behind the counter has a total crap attitude and was the most inconsiderate person I've ever dealt with. The male pharmacist also had the worst customer service skills I've ever experienced. I went to this Walgreens after taking myself and daughter to Urgent Care for an infection. Paid a bunch of money for two urgent appointments for me and my kid, only to show up at Walgreens and get turned away since "my doctor did not write the dosage on the prescription". Uhhhh excuse me - isn't that what you paid thousands of dollars for Pharmacy School for....to instruct people on meds and their dosages!?!? I told them multiple times that it's a CREAM. There is no way to F this up. The dosage is on the freaking tube for God's sakes and they kept saying that they can't give it to me because one is for me and one is for my child and they need dosages. Then they made me wait 30 minutes while they called the Urgent Care to get the dose and the Urgent Care at this point had already closed. So I got so pissed I left and drove all the way the F back to the Urgent Care and asked them for PAPER prescriptions so I could go elsewhere and get my meds and the doctor informed me that the Walgreens pharmacist must have not known the the F she was doing since it's a ONE TIME USE APPLICATION CREAM .... HENCE NO DOSAGE REQUIRED. She also took the TIME AND EFFORT to look up the dosage for kids which SURPRISE SURPRISE IS THE SAME DOSAGE AS ADULTS!!! I just wasted 3 hours of my life on this incompetent pharmacy. Took my paper prescriptions to a different Walgreens and got my meds and am never going back to the first one again. This is one of the worst stores that I have ever been to in my life. Especially for printing photos and anything else. We have submitted multiple photos and we always get back the wrong ones or somebody else's photos. My last 2 orders got canceled without any notice and no refund was given. This is the worst place I have ever been, I took my Dad to get a shot, there were nobody online, but they took forever to help my dad out. Two employees greeted me as soon as I entered the store. There was one corporate-looking type that came out of of the back with a clipboard and his nose in the air, and stepped right in front of the customers that were looking at pill organizers, blocking their view; these customers, clearly annoyed, went to another aisle. When the two Sunnyvale Walgreens on El Camino Real are out of something, I can find it in stock here most of the time; today I needed the 8 gallon trash bags that I use to line the bins in my kitchen that hold my recyclables, plus the Ology 100% Tree-Free Facial Tissue (sugarcane husk and bamboo are used instead). I come here to stock up on their store brand denture tablets (when Sunnyvale locations are sold out), because by dropping two tablets into the toilet a couple of times a week, when it comes time to scrub the bowl, I have to use a lot less elbow grease. This location has a wider selection of stickers than the Sunnyvale locations - today, I found adorable stickers featuring puppies and kittens. I had a bizarre experience as I walked past the refrigerated milk on my way to the front registers - a commercial started playing over the intercom system (prior to this, they had been playing Fleetwood Mac and Heart), and the voice that came on sounded like it belonged at the Disneyland Haunted Mansion Ride. I'm paraphrasing, but it said something along the lines of: "Do you have enough milk? Are you sure? Did your wife drink it? You don't have a wife? Have you been to Vegas? You could have a wife and not know it. Don't forget to buy milk today." And then The Carpenters started playing. The cashier was friendly, and there was no line around 9AM on a Saturday. I mentioned that the store was well stocked, and he said they get so much business that they restock items frequently. The parking lot shared with a bunch of other businesses. Sometimes there are panhandlers wandering around the parking lot, and the trash can right outside the entrance is often overflowing. On El Camino Real and Flora Vista, near the DMV. read more

This Walgreens is newly updated and has a "market" sort of feel. It has an open cold case with fresh food, like sandwiches, salads, etc... The set up here is nothing like I have ever seen at a Walgreens and its fairly small, with short tall isles. The few times I have been here, they don't have in stock what I was looking for,(black Stiletto eyeliner, Mead composition note books), although they have it in their add. They have a small selection of grocery items, but not as much as your regular Walgreens store. When you go to stand in line, wait... what line? It just looks like a group of people standing in the middle of the walk way with no direction and you hear cashiers hollering, "NEXT"! Parking lot is nuts, only because it mostly consists of compact spots. Watch out for door dings, or park far away. read more

I would give this place zero if possible! This is strictly based on my experience here at the pharmacy alone. Got a prescription for my kid brought it here (just happened to closest on my way from dr.). Gave it to the Pharm tech said they have to check something and will pass to the Pharmacist to fill. Said they will call me when it's ready. Waited over and hour and they finally called, said "oh sorry we don't have stock on this!!??" Are you freaking kidding me!? That is the first thing the tech should have done when I gave him the scrib. Then said Let me call another location to see who has it in stock, said Campbell location. So just said fine forget it send the scrib to them I'm gonna start driving. Decided to call and ask this time. When I called the Campbell Pharmacy they said, sorry we don't have in stock!! OMFG! Was so irritated about this place went to CVS, filled my scrib and out in 25mins! To add to the crap another person from the pharmacy called me back and told me the same issue, oh "sorry we are out of stock" Our Santa Cruz location has it in stock!?? OMFG! The worst Walgreens ever. Usually FedEx and photo department allow printing. I waited about 10 minutes while nobody was at the photo department. When employee came, she told me, they can't print documents, only pictures. I spent 20 minutes converting document to an image. Then we found that their computers for printing don't take the image. Employee lied that something is with the cable of my phone. I proved her, my cable is ok. She turned around and went to another client. I asked for a manager and she told manager is not there. This is specific to the pharmacy. I usually get decent customer service from the front desk (though not always). The pharmacy is always understaffed and I find I am constantly waiting in line even for something as simple as a prescription refill which was ordered ahead of time. The staff are slow and not very helpful at all and I've only had one friendly pharmacy tech of my 14+ visits to this location. The last time I went in, I realised they had given me the wrong dosage for my medication. As it is an automatic email they send to remind me of the refill, maybe I should have noticed, but the email has no identifying information (the prescription number is blanked out and it does not mention the dosage at all). I didn't realise until last time I went and they were confused and had to ask which dosage I should be getting... This does not inspire confidence. I am on the hunt for a new pharmacy :/ read more

General Store: Every single time I walk into this store there is a WAIT. Consistently. There are at least 5 people in line waiting, and one person checking out customers. WHY??! So many employees just walking around the store doing absolutely nothing. The red haired guy at the photo register is just walking around aimlessly! Last night I was here, 3 people on the floors just walking around and waiting for you to ask for help. One woman only comes to the cosmetic checkout counter if you ring the bell for one. When you buy wine or beer, you have to wait for the ONE person over 21 that can legally ring you up to come to the counter. CRAP! When you have people waiting for you and you are in a rush, why bother going to a crappy drug store that promises fast/quality service but gives you nothing but an annoyance??This is such a waste of time and terrible customer service. Pharmacy: I happen to live very close to this location, so I transfered my prescription in the morning to this location at 9am. Called doctor to confirm it was there on my way home from work. Got to the pharmacy and the 3 clueless people behind the counter had no idea what I was talking about. I had just spoken to my doctor, who put me on hold 15 minutes ago to talk to the same clueless ppl and confirm my medication was there. THEY DONT REMEMBER. After 20 minutes of checking records and helping other customers in yet another LONG LINE they said "oh, it was never filled...please come back in 30 minutes" This has to be the worse Walgreens I have been to. The reason i transferred it in the 1st place was to get it faster and closer to home before heading out of town! Again, terrible effin' service! They dont even deserve my one star- If it wasnt for the $2.50 wine deals I wouldnt waste my time. Walgreens ads brag about how they take such good care of their customers, but the truth is just the opposite. I used to have my prescriptions with Walgreens, but the service was so bad that I changed my insurance policy to one that has CVS as a preferred provider. The pharmacy window is frequently closed, in violation of their posted hours. And when it's open, there is always a LONG line. There is never more than one employee waiting on customers - the others just ignore the customers. Today I went to buy Sudafed. I was there at 1:45 in the afternoon and the pharmacy was CLOSED so they wouldn't let me buy the Sudafed. Another wasted trip. read more

Do not go anywhere near this location. They don't take concerns seriously. One of the pharmacists (whom I can't describe for fear of being labeled prejudice and I don't know his name) treats people like they are beneath him. Especially women. Or maybe just me. He loves to argue until you give up. He will piss you off to the point of swearing and then want to argue about that. There are mistakes on my prescriptions every time I go in. They are always "forgetting" to run them through insurance. And did I mention the dog I see allowed to run around on the counter? Last straw was today. Called three times because each time I'd get through the queue and he'd hang up on me. By the third call and a few to the main line (with no help) I was angry. He wanted to argue with me and then argue again when he pushed me to the point of a profane word. 40 minutes altogether. Last one on hold 25. Apparently there's a care center that answers at the other stores. Why does this one not use it? No more. This store sucks. And I once worked here. The pharmacy couldn't find my information multiple times. Every time I go in it's a forty minute wait to get my prescription filled. The most recent time I waited forty minutes, they asked me to wait again, and twenty minutes later they didn't even carry the medicine! Here was the icing on the cake, I go to a CVS to pick up my medicine, the CVS calls this Walgreens, and guess what?! They can't find my freaking information. So now I have to call my doctor. The staff here are nice and friendly, however, the store itself, especially the pharmacy is VERY understaffed. The pharmacy line is always very line and most times only one person is working. Additionally, when you call the pharmacy you will be placed on long holds -!: sometimes even disconnected. I full recurrent prescriptions at this location and it's is NEVER quick. I am hoping they beef up staffing at some point. read more

Poor customer service and the pharmacy is under staffed. They over promised and under delivered. If they tell you 10 minutes, count on it being 20. Give plenty of time, call ahead, etc. Also, personal experience, one of the workers asked, "Can I help you?" then proceeded to change things the minute we approached the counter, pointed to her co-worker and said, "She'll be right with you" and then the woman that asked the question proceeded to walk away. Considering that I do a very similar job, I was very put off. You simply do not do that when working in that capacity. Talk about setting the wrong impression. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that felt the negative and odd energy just walking in there . . Worse customer service and employees are unfriendly. As I was walking out towards the door -there was this man working there just blocking the doors and I was just patiently waiting for him to move - then he turned around and said - dont worry I'm moving in a very rude tone. i didn't even say a word and he just presume that I was annoyed . After his unnessary comment i kept waiting then he finally moved . This was the first time going into this Walgreens and my last ! This is the worst walgreens one could ever endup going to. We mostly go here since its close to our house. The staff are not at all trained. There are two managers, both are rude and arrogant. I asked for printing photos and they cut the faces on the pictures and inturn manager was arguing with me that I should have adjusted. On another occasion when I went to recharge my clipper card, the guy at the counter doesnt even know how to do that. He charged my credit card and didnt recharge my clipper and this is after a wait of 20 mins with just one customer in front of me. This is the review after multiple such encounters. Avoid going to this place as much as possible and go online. The staff will be very happy when they have less customers as they would get time to gossip. read more

What can I say about Walgreens? They carry some things that I need on occasion. So I go there every few months. But really I just grab what I need and am out of there inside of 10 minutes. The inside is pretty nice and easy to navigate. The outside does need some TLC though... read more

The pharmacy wait is AWFUL. Here's a helpful tip, you should know people will come after work between 5 and 7 to get their prescriptions- why is there ALWAYS only ONE register open?! Cashier was really nice and attentive and made small talk about the hair salon I came to visit and some great deals on washing machine soap, but the other cashier was struggling with basic math. Also some other employees were complaining about having to run to the photo booth every few minutes, and not having enough time to do their primary job (for which they were hired, presumably). Great location and decently helpful staff but I am growing uncomfortable with the large amount of homeless people that sleep outside this Walgreens as well as the fact that I have seen this one man in a wheelchair harass multiple women, including me outside of this location. I have caught this man and another man pushing him around the store follow me and threateningly talk to me. His description is a bald man, who sits in a wheelchair (often times using his feet to move himself around), middle aged and he comes up to women to threaten them. I often avoid going to Walgreens in the afternoon and early evening as he is always there. Walgreens needs to have better security because they will lose customers if they continue to let this man harass people in the store! There is a homeless couple that sleeps on the sidewalk outside of this Walgreens too and it appears that someone smears feces over the windows of this location. read more
