I have always tried to show compassion for the employees that work at the pharmacy here , because I know they are most likely understaffed. I don't get that same compassion back and the weaponized incompetence is horrific. This is the most lame excuse of a pharmacy I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. We showed up to the pharmacy on a Monday. The pharmacy is closed on weekend so was surprised to find the waiting area filthy dirty, filled with trash. I think Walgreens takes our business for granted and has no hesitation whatsoever customers will show up no matter what condition the waiting area is in. Awesome employees, it's not their fault the chain has no bags, no more AAAA batteries, nyx make-up products, etc, etc... There's a nationwide shortage of everything -in case you're not aware. Do not waste your time with the pharmacy, especially if your medicine is taken daily and/or necessary for your daily function. The pharmacy is either not open or there is a line 10 deep. This is no reflection in the outnumbered folks working the counter. This egregious ineptitude rests squarely on the shoulders of management. I have met with resistance twice with rude "announced as managers" employees at Walgreens in taos. once was that I wanted to return a cane without a receipt. the other was asking for help over the phone to open a medicine jar over the phone because I am on a walker and need to return to have someone take a look. the "manager" suggested I find someone to drive me back to Walgreens. these people who are working are the generation who got trophies for no good reason in school. their work ethic reflects entitlement for no merit. Went here to pick up a Rx. None of the staff was wearing Masks or Gloves in the middle of a global pandemic. Extremely unprofessional staff, as well. Would avoid if possible. read more

So typical of a Walgreens pharmacy, we called ahead to check on a prescription because we were driving for an hour out of the mountains to pick it up and were put on hold for 10 minutes. The pharmacist accidentally picked up and as I started to ask about prescription, said, "Sorry I picked up the wrong line,"and cut me off before I could finish the sentence. Back on hold, 2 more times someone came on and said, "Walgreens, please hold". When they finally answered we were 8 minutes away and were told they were closing in 4 for a lunch break and no one could wait 4 minutes for us even though we had driven an hour and had an hour to drive back to our hotel. When they reopened 2 1/2 hours after the prescriptions had been called in, and I called to verify them, they were not ready. We NEVER do business with ANY Walgreens for this very reason. We only had scripts sent to this store because we were making plans long distance and Walgreens advertised longer hours than other pharmacies in town, when we go there, even the hours were not correct!!! So frustrating to be sick and not be able to pick up medication. An hour later and after having to get in line 3 different times we were able to leave with medication at the correct price. Where's the compassion? People visit the pharmacy and they've been ill. The clerk shorted my wife of her medicine and was passive-aggressive about it to the extreme. Muhammad kept interrupting and tried to eliminate any objections and rationalize the short. We had to ask for the manager and get a refund, this took 20 minutes. Completely incompetent. Will discuss items you are buying and recipes but can't quite get all the items in basket checked out. Then, when calling to see if I'd paid for the forgotten ( clerk forgot to put in with other items) I was on hold for 10+ minutes. Typical of this location in Taos. It's super inconsiderate for a company that has stores everywhere and is making tons of money to not have the pharmacy department fully or overly staffed. If you can possibly avoid going to this pharmacy, do it. They are incompetent and rude. They claim not to receive prescriptions that are called in an hour before and confirmed w the physicians office. Try to go somewhere outside of Taos if at all possible. read more
