The pharmacy hours and wait time at this location is horrendous. The pharmacy is only open 9am to 7pm, so if you work the same hours, say 9am to 5pm, the only convenient time to go is either during your lunch or after work. Guess what, that's the majority, so when you try to go at those times so does everyone else. So bring your lunch or dinner, request 3 hours for lunch or a vacation day, and bring a lawn chair of some sort because this convenience/pharmacy store is definitely not that. If it was possible to give no stars I would. It's definitely not the employees fault but corporate. If their claim to fame is their pharmacy , it's time to start looking into other ventures like assisted death, home owners insurance, or auto body insurance claims that way their customers will always expect to get boned. read more

I'd like to start by saying I must have been insanely lucky for the service I've gotten in the last few years because I hadn't had the issues that I'm now seeing on the reviews, until I got preeclampsia and had to have an emergency C-Section, that is. We stop by on our way home from the hospital at about 2pm, over 6 hours from when we got the notice that Walgreens received our prescription order just to be told it wouldn't be ready until the NEXT DAY. Had I known the pain that would develop overnight on the first night home with my newborn, I would have immediately requested to have my medication sent somewhere else then. They gave me a limited supply of pain killer which is understandable but the postpartum preeclampsia, the excessive swelling and slow healing made it difficult to even lay down at night, much less lay down and get up every 1-2 hours to feed my baby. So my doctor gave me one more refill. I got a message from Walgreens saying that my insurance put a hold on it. I called to ask what that meant as it had never happened before and they started asking me weird questions about a different customer and not answering my question (HIPAA violation, wow), so I called my insurance and they said it had been approved no hold had been placed. I called Walgreens again and they didn't answer so I decided to call the next morning as I had officially run out and I knew I'd feel it the next day. I called at 10am for them to connect me directly with a pharmacist to explain my prescription was approved the night before but as the pharmacist on site had gone home sick, it got missed so they would be sure it would be filled in the next hour or two, what a relief! After waiting for the property to be plowed before sending my husband out to pick it up 7 hours later and an hour waiting in the drive thru, he was told it wouldn't be ready until they "took inventory" and they were starting that right at that moment. By then I was waking up from a nap with my baby and feeling like my skin was being torn in half. Frustrated, I called the pharmacy to get an estimated time frame and double check because they said it would be ready HOURS ago but while my husband handled it in person for the next hour, I remained on hold for the entirety of that time. The young male with the reddish short hair has ABSURD customer service as he raised his voice to a customer behind my husband and then continually walked away from him, telling my husband that I am a liar because me saying that the pharmacist told me it would be ready by around 11am would be impossible because they wouldn't be able to take inventory at that time for some reason, and then telling the pharmacist that he has a customer that "doesn't understand" in earshot and then referring to my husband. My husband had to explain all he wanted was a time frame and did not come to be disrespected as he is just trying to take care of his wife who just gave birth. They THEN fulfilled my order (sorry to the brand new pharmacist in his second day, seems you rolled into a crap show and I hope you can help make the necessary changes) when the pharmacist made the call. At the time I was FUMING, but now I'm just disappointed that there is a biased and lack of care for our community needing medication and most of these issues could simply be resolved by communication. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would... this pharmacy is pure trash. Customer service is mediocre, at best. Timeliness is abhorrent, it takes DAYS to fill medications aren't over from the emergency room. Even refills of medicines that have been prescribed for years take a ridiculous amount of time. Went over to CVS in Target and got our prescriptions filled in under 30 minutes, less than an hours after having them transferred over from Walgreens. read more

They billed my insurance on a prescription that was out of stock and wouldn't be restocked for 3 business days, thus interfering with my minor child's medical care when attempting to fill the prescription elsewhere. This is the worst pharmacy in the valley, every time I decide to give them one more chance, they manage to wreck your day. My vaccine appt was scheduled for a specific time. I came in and the line to the pharmacy was backed up as usual and the employees were running around looking confused and overwhelmed. I went to the counter and the man told me to get in line.I told him I had an appointment for a vaccine. He told me to get in line as they were busy. I wanted to get this appointment for the vaccine asap, because I had other appointments to get to which is why I made an appointment in the first place. Anyway, I left. This practice of making customers angry and not having an organization that is not streamlined to fit the increased demand of the public in Wasilla. This is not an isolated situation, this is the usual for customers that come to your establishment.. I have used Walgreens for poster prints, etc and had decent service and quality prints. My main issue with Walgreens over the years has been the pharmacy. They are always super slow compared to other pharmacies. I decided to go ahead and post a review after my latest adventure with Walgreens. I noticed that they were scheduling appointments for flu shots so I scheduled a time slot and was there a few minutes before my appointment. Immediately I noticed that the pharmacy drive thru as well as inside was super busy. I made my way to the counter and asked where I should go for my appointment. I was told by the technician that I had to go to the end of the line and wait my turn. I don't mind waiting in line but was left wondering why a business would have appointment times for a specific service if everything was going to be first come, first serve anyway. The best pharmacy in the Valley hands down is "Our Doctor's Pharmacy" near the Capstone clinic. read more

Repeated back and forth for a prescription that "had" to be filled by Walgreens in Eagle River and then sent to Wasilla since I'm not in Anchorage. Told it was there for pickup only to be told it wasn't there when I went to get it. More phone calls to Eagle River the next day and finally got things sorted. Back to Wasilla again to pick up and was told "nothing here for you". We let the employee know that it was there as Wasilla Walgreens called me to tell me it was there for pickup the day before. The lady working the drive thru was extremely rude. Lots of huffing and puffing while telling us it wasn't there. Completely put out that we asked her to check as I've been trying to get my medication for over 2 weeks now. She found it rather quickly and then just threw it in the bin at us. Super rude. They also "announce" when a pescription is ready, they say, but the PA system does not broadcast to the patient waiting area--and they are fine with that. One of the worst experiences. We scheduled a COVID test for my son. We arrived 15 minutes early and were in line at the drive through for 65 minutes. When we finally got to the window staff put up a sign that there was no one on duty and they were on lunch break. So with a sick child in the car I have now been sitting in the car for almost 2 hours. I even went inside to tell the pharmacy we were in line for our scheduled appointment as the line was moving slowly. Unbelievable. Trying to be responsible at not expose anyone to a potential positive result as my son works in food service. And for the icing on the cake I had to cancel another appointment as we obviously won't make it in time. read more

It's a decent Walgreens. They have a nice selection of stuff, frequently better prices on cereal than Fred's or Target. They have a fair amount of seasonal decor and candy. They also have a good selection of brands and different types of make-up etc. The parking lot is small and cramped. read more

This Walgreens neglected to charge my Humana Part D in June of 2016 and charged me full price to the tune of almost $300 for my medically necessary drugs. There was a very long line, as always, both in store and drive thru. It was embarrassing to say the least having to scrape up the money and having insisted several times they were not deducting my coverage. I got attitude, of course I must be wrong, I've only had the same coverage for 6 years. *sarcasm. The next month the new tech charged my insurance so I paid my normal $30 and when I asked her about the previous month she said she would look into it. Never heard from her again despite several more inquiries on my part. Fast forward to this year. I get a call in July stating they UNDERCHARGED me in February for medication and I owed them $60. I told them to deduct it from the money they overcharged me the prior year and send me a check for the difference. So they sent me a 90 day overdue invoice! I called and they stated I don't owe the amount. Whether that went to collections or they wrote it off they could not say. I asked again about the money still owed me and they hung up on me on purpose. I am contacting the BBB. There are always lines there and no one is ever in a hurry. No one in the pharmacy moves with purpose. They make you feel hostage because they know you need your medication. I have since switched to Wal Mart. Same drugs are cheaper there. read more

Alright then! So, I do not give a 1* rating lightly. It takes a good bit to have such bad service that I give this the same rating as Ex-President Bush's approval rating. So, lets get down to the nitty gritty shall we? My son is on medication for a mood disorder. We've bounced between several pharmacies before landing here. The service is usually decent though the wait is generally about an hour. Three Bears, 5 minutes, Wal-Mart, 5-10 minutes, Target, 10 minutes, Fred Myers, 5-10 minutes. But I digress. So, mt wife and I realized that my son had taken his last pill last night and the insurance wouldn't cover it again for 2 more days. He can NOT be off his medication that long, so we call the pharmacy. This is where they struck a nerve with me. The pharmacist manager told my wife they had to review the security footage to see if they shorted us (we should have had 30 pills and ended up with 23). The gentleman (and I use the term loosely with his attitude) called back and stated he couldn't determine on the footage, but we could come pick up 3 emergency pills at the cost of $30/pill. He even stated "Miss counting is generally not something that happens, you should make sure there aren't any laying around the house somewhere. We have 9 extra on hand you can come down and get them any time" I am slightly livid at this point. I go down and demand to speak to a manager about the issue, who then takes me to the pharmacy to speak to their manager. SUPRISE! it's the guy from the phone. As soon as he sees the other manager he was talking nice, but when she walked away he flat out told me that "miss counting is not a common occurance" and that he was providing "great customer service" by giving us the three pills which he quickly said were free, yet still insisting that they were not at fault. He then says "we usually keep two or three extra on hand". Wait. 2 on hand. Plus 7 missing from my sons bottle. Hang on I can do this. 2+7=9? Going back to the phone conversation him stating they had NINE extra on hand then at the counter telling me they usually only have two or three. Then insisting that they hadn't shorted us on his pills and insulting us like that? Sorry, no. I will be changing pharmacies again, the others at least admitted when there were mistakes made (though this is the first time we've ever been shorted) and fixed them without making it sound like it was our fault. If you want GOOD customer service I would suggest just about anywhere else but here. This was just plain insulting. read more

The wait at the pharmacy -- drive-thru or going inside -- is ridiculous. You can count on having HIGH blood pressure by the time you leave even if you normally do not have high blood pressure. It's the same if I try to call ahead to make sure the script is ready. Put on hold for at least 15 minutes at a time. Might have been longer but I finally just hang up. WHEW! read more

You can get in and out of the store fairly quickly. 24 hour prescriptions and their online app makes it easier than any other drug store. The will even email you when a prescrition is available for refill. Get the app. You can send them a pic from your phone and it will be printed usually in an hour. It's not the huge big box store with the checkout registers 1/4 mile from the shampoo. In and out. Nice and quick. Sometimes weaving your way through the parking lot to get out is a test, go to the light near the TARGET. It's safest. read more

Not a whole lot to say other than they consistently either can't find a prescription that is called in 2-5 hours ago, or they don't start filling it until you are ready to pick it up. I usually wait in line 20+ minutes to be told I have to wait 20 minutes for the prescription to be filled. Then I come back and wait 20 more minutes. I'm not sure if their system is messed up or the staff just doesn't try and fill them in a timely manner. Either way, time to look at other options. Ain't nobody got time for that! read more

If I could give them no stars I would. I love Walgreens, but the valley Walgreens is horrible. I feel sorry for everyone in the valley that thinks that this is how Walgreens operates. The two times I've been, since I moved out to the valley, it took me over 30 minutes of sitting in the drive up just to drop off a prescription. The Walgreen's is new and is located in the same area with Target. Thinking it would rival Target, Wal Mart and Freddie's in make up and facial care and all things druggie, my tween and I were very disappointed. First, the store is brand new but it's messy and dirty with lots of junk sitting around. It's been open a few weeks and things are still stacked in bins in the middle of the aisles waiting to be put on shelves that are already packed (not a good way to greet new customers). The biggest gripe I have is their selection, which is odd because their shelves are packed already - there isn't room for more. I can find more colors of lip gloss, types of shampoos and different varieties of Noxzema, Olay, Neutrogena etc. at both Fred Meyer and Wal Mart. For instance : They have a large tub of Noxzema for sale and then they have their own brand which is not a whole lot cheaper. They have no Noxzema wipes, medicated pads, creamy cleansers or pump style cleanser. Not a big deal ? It is to a 12 year old battling acne and able to get all of the above at Fred's or Wal Mart...and cheaper. Repeat this process with every brand you are looking for. The layout is poor too - you will find food in just about every aisle. So if you go in looking for the Smokehouse almonds that are on sale, lots of luck finding them. As a marketing strategy all I can say is that you have to have your customer base established before you can get away with making them "hunt" for things. We did find a backpack for school on sale for $6.99. The clerk was nice but we still won't go back there. There is no reason to that I could think of. read more

I have never been happy with my service from Walgreens Pharmacy. The employees within the store are always nice but the pharmacy is the worst!! If it werent for being open very late and having a drive thru, I would never go there. The customer service is terrible, they never have your scripts and they move at a snails pace. Often times, there is only 1 person working. Why? People are ill and need their medications. They don't need to stand in line for an hour to be told your script isn't there even when you are personal friends with the doctor and he called in the med on his day off. Sure enough, they magically find it eventually only to be told that you aren't in their system. Again, they magically find you. The employees are not very polite as well as MOST of the pharmacists. I think they are overworked and under paid and they transfer this anger and frustration onto anyone who comes in. Very poor service! read more
