As a brewery, this place knocks it out of the park. As a restaurant, it is pretty good. The atmosphere is really fun, with some modern industrial vibes going on. It's cool to see where the beer is all made as you're sitting and enjoying the product. The waitstaff are incredibly kind and helpful. They seem to really enjoy what they do. Everything that we tried was delicious. The only disappointment on the food side was the relatively small menu and that they were out of several products. Spacious brewery with outdoor seatings. There were lots of options for beer which include various styles of beer for any beer enthusiastic. I started with a stout which had a rich and chocolately flavor. I also really enjoyed the Eob Roy scotch ale which was pretty strong but very delicious. I had originally visited the Walkerville Brewery in 2009 and it has changed tremendously in 15 years. Brewery/Tap Room is quite large and inviting. I arrived around 4:30 on a Sunday and ordered a Geronimo IPA which was very tasty. Very fair price wise too ($6.50). There is a small snack bar open too. They sell single cans and six packs too which are very reasonable price wise. Definitely a worthwhile visit for a quality beer. I'd return. read more

We came in to have a little beer. I ordered the water front with, which is a wheat beer in a can. My dining companions ordered a red ale and honest lager. Those were both on tap. The wheat beer was a little lighter than I normally drink, but was good. My sister said she really liked the red ale, it was easy to drink. The honest lager was very easy to drink. We came here for a bite to eat, but no food was being served. Service was good, there was not a lot of explanation of the beers. It was in a reasonably safe location. read more

Nice, spacious taproom, which looked like it had it's share of regulars and a few visitors passing through Windsor. Ended up going with a flight of three beers and the cider.I liked them all, so I got a half pint of another beer to try. I especially liked the cider, which wasn't too sweet or too dry. Had a chance to chat with one of the employees, Ron, who went into detail how they settled on the recipe they have for the cider they have today. It only took 10 years to finally visit this brewery, and hopefully the next visit will be very soon! read more

Really cool spot in Windsor to visit if you love to try local breweries. They have a really great selection of beers and ciders for everyone to enjoy. There's not much to see inside as they weren't offering any tours and the dine-in area is shut down. Still cool to walk inside and get a peek thought. Just enjoy responsibly. read more

I was expecting average beer at well above average pricing, but I got the exact opposite! I didn't really know what to expect, but the tasting room was set inside of their production facility and I really liked the industrial feel. Lots of seating and a fair bit of space... The servers behind the bar were efficient and friendly, however, there aren't any roaming servers; you have to go to the bar to place a drink order, but you can start a tab to make things easier. The beer was of excellent quality. I had the Purity Pilsner and the Collaboration Pale Ale at the tap room and got a swing top of the Holiday Porter to take home. Each beer was well crafted, to style, and the glassware was clean. The draft offerings were very flavorful, crisp and bright; just like they should have been. The Porter was rich and toasty with just a hint of spice. A limited sampling of their menu, but I enjoyed all three of their beers. The prices are excellent (especially for Canada) and could honestly go up a little but and I'd be OK with that. I paid more than double the cost of their IPA at a local lunch spot than I would have at the brewery itself, so I was very pleased to see that most of the regular offerings were around the $4 mark at the tap room vs $8-$9 at the restaurant we went to. We don't cross over too often, but I'll certainly come back here. Excellent quality and a great value for craft beer lovers. read more

My boyfriend and I came down to Windsor this weekend because we had a few events, and decided to do a couple brewery tours around Windsor, since he's not from here and I am. This was first on our list, for several reasons, especially the history surrounding Walkerville, and Windsor at the time. Our tour guide was Christina, and she brought us on a tasting tour of the beers that they had available now. I'm not a beer drinker myself, but I came for my boyfriend. I sampled them, gave them a try, but I was here for the rich culture and history Walkerville has to offer. She took us around the plant and gave us a history lesson on Hiram Walker himself, where he started and how he gave Windsor a name for rum running and bringing the mob boss Al Capone himself, into our city, and how way back when during the early 20th century and during prohibition, Walkerville was a town, not attached to Windsor, that stood out. We were taken along to the old barrels they had from Hiram Walker's that the acquired to make their dark lager, and that actually sounds delicious, having it ferment and waiting for a year or 6 months to create that perfect, local beer. My boyfriend enjoyed the tour, the history and the beer, we ended up getting a Windsor Stubby to take home with us, for him to drink and for us to display my proud Windsor heritage! Cool place! So this is a brewery which has a small bar and seating area for you to try out some beers. The prices and selections are great. There was 5 different selections when I went and I got a sort of tasting plate when I went. It was four 5oz glasses with a different beer in each that only cost $7.50, which I think is a good price to try out a few beers. Usually that type of thing. Is at least $10 at most other places. You can by cases and stubbys and what not also. Our bartender was very friendly and took the time to explain to us how it all worked. I think the only reason I give it 4 stars is because there are some brewers in Windsor that I feel have better beer, but I guess that is all subjective depending on a person's taste. The beer was still pretty great here, I just found some of the texture a little strange with some of them. Great place! read more

Omg what a fun place! Ok so I'm not much of a beer person but this place changed my mind! We met Maddy and Lori and just loved them. They taught me more about beer in the short time we were there that I have learned my whole drinkin years of life. We didn't do the tour because I was just loving tasting all the beers. And, did not want to miss one! My favorite was definitely the cider but, would drink every one of them all over again. These ladies really know their stuff. A definite place you must go! Everyone there is like one big family. We had the coolest experience with this gentleman who walked in with frog legs, shrimp, and the best kielbasa I have ever had! We would have stayed longer if we could have. We look forward to coming back in March!!!! read more

If you eat or drink anywhere in the Windsor region, odds are that you've come across Walkerville Brewing Company. Their large, airy headquarters are just off the mains trip from Walkerville and close to the river. When it came down to the beer, I was particularly impressed by the Indie Pale Ale. It was a really hoppy, meaty pale ale that compared to some of the craft brews I'm fond of back home in Toronto. I wish I'd tried the Kolsh Style ale (Session 1) because it sounded like the perfectly balanced summer beer for a long August weekend, but I could only carry so much! Like all other places that offer growlers to go, you can get a rebate when you return the bottle, or a discount by "refilling" the jug itself. (AKA, grabbing another from the cooler.) They take cash, debit or credit so you're covered there. The brewery offers tours (which I unfortunately didn't have the time to do), hosts events, serves beer and sells it. It's a nice, sleek facility that also hosts events, I bet it's quite popular with the wedding circuit (or it damn well should be.) read more

I took the tour with my wife. I like beer, she doesn't. She is into wines and ciders. You receive 4 samples before the tour to give you a taste of their product on tap. Then for the tour you receive a glass of beer for the tour. The tour itself lasted for 45minutes and included some history of Walkerville, Hiram Walker, and the surrounding community. I thought it was very interesting and informative. Wife was bored spitless. But she had her camera so she was able to take pictures. All in all I thought it was worth it. read more
