a pint of beer on a table

We had some time to kill today and this was a tagabrew that I still needed. So we took a trip to Wayndotte! We love this little downtown area! We have ventured out here in the past and really found it adorable. We stopped in and I thought this was a really cute brewery. They didn't have a huge selection which was a little disappointing. They were out of their IPA. But we both chose the coffee cream beer and it was really quite good. I did love the atmosphere here. It was an open space open to the elements. Today was a gorgeous day! Now, he knows that I'm always cold and figured that sitting outside in the sun would be the best move for me. And he was right. We normally like to sit at the bar but I loved the Patio. We found out that on certain days between certain hours you are allowed to walk around the downtown area with drinks as long as it's in a specific glass. I hear SCS is starting to do something like this as well. They really need to do this in other downtown areas like Rochester too. I think they would get more business and people would shop more. I always buy more when I have been drinking. Haha. Who doesn't? Anyway, we got our tagabrews and decided to grab lunch. I don't know that I would make a special trip all the way to Wayndotte for this brewery but I was glad that we came today.

Stopped in for their grand opening to try one of their six featured brews - Gold Star golden ale, Erie Coast IPA, Dad Jazz mild ale, Razzle Dazzle raspberry wheat ale, Spooky Coast NE IBA, and Willie's Best scotch ale. They didn't have flights available so I tried the Spooky Coast & Erie Coast - both were tasty. The service was pretty quick and all of the bartenders were nice. There are a variety of "Pizza Joints" and egg rolls available from the kitchen but we didn't try anything while we were there. The food coming out of the kitchen looked good, though! There is ample bar seating and some tables. It looks like there will be seating on the patio come summer. Unfortunately right now that served as the smoking area which meant coming in/out of the brewery through crowds of people smoking - I'd love if they had a smoking area outside away from the door and soon-to-be patio seating so this wasn't a thing. Looking forward to when flights & merch are available! I would have loved to purchase a sweatshirt!

What an amazing day! We decided to jump in the car and take a trip down river. To be honest, we didn't really have a destination in mind. We have so many places to go and so many things we want to enjoy together. Sometimes, it seems like we are making up for lost time. There aren't enough hours in the day to spend together. Wyandotte happened to be on our route for the day. I just love days without an agenda. He mapped our route and we started our day at Wyandotte Brewery. What an awesome spot. Located in the heart of the city, this brewery is the hit of the town. They have an outside patio and a large space on the inside. Walking in, we noticed that it was Bar Crawl Night in the city. Being Devil's Night, this could be fun! We made our way to the bar. We were greeted by the beertender, who schooled us on the brews. Come to find out, he was the brewer and one of the owners. We ordered a flight to split. I loved the Raspberry beer and he really liked the pumpkin. All of the beers were fantastic. We decided to order some Poutine based on the owner's recommendation and a buffalo chicken eggroll. We were glad that we did....it was probably one of the best we have tasted. We spent some time talking to the owner and met a great couple who sat at the bar with us. The woman happened to be a nurse too. We always meet fun people everywhere we go. Let's just say, we will most certainly be back to visit this great brewery.

Outstanding beer! ... and open for business as of today. Light bar-food menu to start - good prices! ... see their facebook page (www.facebook.com/wyandottebeerco/). Had a great "peaty" smokey Scotch Ale and a delicious Raspberry Wheat. We stumbled upon their grand opening today completely by coincidence ... and the house was full even before word has gotten around. Visit before the madding crowd drinks them completely dry!

Service was great during our last visit. The beer is great, and priced great too. Most around $4-$6ish I believe. They have board games too to play and you can usually find an open seat. It has been packed in there on Saturday's with standing room only options. Great new addition to Downtown Wyandotte.

    Gold star Ale.

This is a German restaurant in name only. Service was sub-par. My party sat for 10-15 minutes before water was offered. Ordered appetizers and our dinners. Dinners came first followed five minutes later by appetizers. My order of Chicken paprikash was lukewarm and I could find very little chicken in it. I was so hungry I regrettably ate it that way. Waitress never checked back if everything was ok or if we wanted another round of drinks. I generously give two stars because the Weihenstephaner Dunkel on draft is a rare find and the German egg rolls are outstanding. Other than that, our visit was sehr enttäuschend (disappointing)

There are so few German restaurants (although they have other options). It's a cute place with long tables that can be for bigger groups or communal dining. The servers were great and checked in on us regularly, and helped us figure out the different options and specials. The spaetzle bowls are pretty big and you can either share or bring some home. The schnitzel was good, but not big enough to share. The paprikash bowl was also tasty. The German potato salad was a real standout, give it a try. Prices were reasonable.

Unfortunately, it's a bar on the side that we sat on so it definitely had customers that we're using very inappropriate language even though they saw our kid was there. Our waitress was pleasant and she directed us to the vegan menu which we ordered the plant -based chicken tenders, which unfortunately the portions were tiny for the price. I'll give this place three out of five because they did have options, but unfortunately, the portion size just did not make sense for the price point. Our daughter got the Natchos which were a play on nachos which you could tell was warmed up probably in the microwave and did not taste that great. And was the most expensive item at $20 for basically french fries with a few pieces of the plant-based chicken. We were grateful they had the options. It's just unfortunately the vegan options. We're not very filling at all again based on the price point they were asking for. Definitely don't suggest this place for a family again because patrons and many of the staff were using really inappropriate language but the inside at a very artistic look to it so that was a plus.

To start off, the service was amazing some of the best I have ever had. We asked what would she recommend and she gave us so many suggestions and we wanted all of it. She did not need to give us any recommendations because everything would be amazing. Next, the food was amazing!!! We had the Cajun steak bites as an appetizer it was some of the best food I have ever had. It was gone within seconds. I had the classic burger it was great and I don't even like burgers that much. My parents had the euro they said "the bomb diggity." All they said and that's all they needed to say. (The bomb diggity was the sauce) Finally, since we arrived late there was no one around. Therefore, we had a great dinner with our family. The ambiance was nice, very comforting. In conclusion, the only bad thing about this place is that there's not one near us. I highly recommending coming to this place no matter what. Come here!!!

I also quite liked the tomato mozz salad. The asparagus was perfect. Happiness. I thought my sprouts were a clunker. The weird sauce was not to my palette. My husband's rice was meh. My big pet peeve was tiny tiny containers of sauce both au just and horseradish for my prime rib. Just chintzy. Of course the specials came with infamous (apparently- we had no idea) pizookies. What the hell is a pizookie? I asked myself the same. And undercooked cookie with ice cream and assorted toppings. My salted caramel tasted more chocolate chip to me. It was OK.
