I shopped here for years at their brick and morter store and used to love the lines of shoes they carried. I bought two pairs of shoe on line, neither of which fit properly. They charge a restocking fee of almost $10, but I was willing to accept that. The shoes were returned. But here I am, a MONTH after the shoes have been received at the warehouse, and no credit posted to my credit card. Follow up with the company only gets me an AI response to "be patient." read more

I came here to return a pair of shoes I bought and service was terrible. There was a blonde woman in her mid to late 20's working today, and I had to wait 30 minutes just to return a pair of shoes just because she could not multitask. While the customer ahead of me was trying on shoes, the worker stood there chit chatting the whole time they were trying them on, when instead, she could have been helping other customers (such as I and another family that walked in waiting to be helped as well). This whole process took 30 minutes for her to help the customer find 3 pairs of shoes, go to the back room to grab different sizes 3 times, and then finally proceed to ring her up. She wasn't able to do ANYTHING else in that whole time span. I've never had such terrible service at this company. The one at Southcenter is much better. The workers are attentive but PRODUCTIVE. Be careful when you shop here - they don't explain all the problems ahead of time to return shoes that they didn't fit properly. I paid $94.95 + tax for a pair of shoes + $30 for the inserts. Because of the inserts being extra cushy, when I returned home to walk in the shoes, now they were too short to be comfortable. When I returned the shoes, I was only refunded 1/2 the price of the shoes - I paid $137.69, and was refunded $49 ... I have contacted corporate and still no resolution. I will go to Sole Perception or REI in Tacoma ... way better service! read more

I do not recommend ever coming here. The reason why is that although Angie the clerk was a joy to work with the information she gave me was not quite right. She told me that if I bought a pair of shoes that the orthotics come with it. She knew I was interested in the keen Austin's. I came back today after thinking about what she told me ready to buy at full price the shoes. To only be told that Angie is new and mistaken and that the Keens don't come with the orthotic but I would have to buy the $109 shoes in addition to the $74.95 orthotic. The manager wouldn't budge or honor for me what her employee had said. Nor would she honor the $10 off sign that says you get $10 off with a foot scan consult and purchase. She spouted about exclusions that a small print eludes to, but could not produce any actual print that states what the exclusion was. This is ridiculous I have been a retail Manager for 12 yrs and I would and do take care of my customers who are quoted something in errant by my employees then I do some training, I would also pull or amend signage that is so vague to cause trouble. Above all I take care of the customer, save the sale and get good word of mouth. So now I am stuck and wasted my time to drive all the way from Bremerton to Tacoma and back and pay for the bridge for nothing. It is a fact I will never suggest or recommend anyone to shop here, which is a shame since we all do a average of 7 miles a day on hard concrete floors. read more

Hello Walking Company! I just wanted to express my wonderful experience I had at your Tacoma location! I went in on Thursday August 9th to pick up a pair of long lasting work shoes. I knew I wanted a pair of Dansko's even though they are hideous, they are long lasting and durable. I was greeted with a happy hello! Immediately Brooke walked up to me and my son and asked how I can help you? We talked about other brands, color, types, etc. Very knowledgeable about all but went with Dansko's. We also paired a perfect pair of inserts that feel great with my high arches, but the best part of my whole experience is the personal interaction. Working as a bartender for such a long time you get a feel for people, Brooke is an amazing employee and an even better person! Thanks again for a great pair of shoes and an even better experience. I went to the store at the Tacoma Mall. I had bought a pair of shoes about 2 weeks ago, after I wore them for a couple hours I knew they were not the shoe for me. I went back to the store and they exchanged them with such great customer service! I love the pair I got this time. I would recommend this store to anyone. The walking company has a big sign that states $25 coupon on your next purchase. 5 days After my purchase i tried to get this coupon emailed to me - no luck and rude treatment. 6 days after my initial purchase I went in again to talk to original sales person to get $25 coupon, still no luck. Poor poor customer service and when I asked for an advertised coupon I was treated very poorly. I wont be back. read more

I went into this store looking for good walking shoes. The salesperson Sara helped me decide on a nice pair of Abeo shoes. 6 days later I went in because I was having heal pain from the orthotic in the shoe ($175.00) shoes should NOT cause you pain. We switched out the orthotic. At that time, I asked her if there was a difference in price of the orthotics. The originals were medical grade, the switched out ones were just rubber. She told me no. I went home and looked on the website, and found there was a difference in price. I called customer service and got my fees refunded, but I will NEVER step foot in that store again, because I don't appreciate being lied to. read more

This review is for this location specifically. I went to return an online order and was told that I was outside the return window and that at best, I might have gotten a 75% credit towards an exchange. This was for a $140 pair of unworn shoes, in the box, with a receipt! Then instead of exhibiting any type of understanding or basic customer service skills, she went on to explain how their return policy was created and that it's actually very reasonable. The final nail in the coffin came when she claimed she'd called customer service and that there was absolutely nothing that anyone could or would do for me. As soon as I left, I had a 5 minute phone call with the real customer service and they are going to exchange them for me and pay for shipping because of my awful experience. I will NEVER give this Tacoma location my business -- unless I want to be shamed and treated like a scammer for a legitimate business transaction. read more
