I have just returned home from a 3-day weekend out of town to a happy and healthy pup. Which is really recommendation enough, but not even the tip of the iceberg on how great these guys are. After a couple of lackluster experiences from Rover, I decided to look into Walks to Wags for my dog-walking and pet-sitting needs, and I'm glad I did. Josh is wonderful!!! I had a 2month old mix when I first met josh and I could tell instantly he loved dogs...he came highly recommended! I work random days and weird hours and often get my scheduled changed the day of and josh is always so flexible and accommodating. My husband and I contacted Josh back in February 2016 and we have never used anyone else since then. Our Maltese needs a walk 5 days a week, all year long, expect the few weeks we're on vacations. Josh and his walkers always do the best job and keep our dog happy while we are at work. I love receiving an update by email or by text message at lunch time to know that everything went fine. UPDATE: After posting my review below, Josh immediately texted me saying it's "absolutely ridiculous threatening my livelihood over a missed text" and then to expect him to take me to court for lying about said missed text... After just admitting he missed it because he was sleeping. I'm sorry Josh, but that is definitely the worst way to respond to a previous customer. Threatening to take me to court over an honest yelp review? C'mon man.... You're digging yourself into a deeper hole. At first, everything was great (4 1/2 star worthy). There was great communication and I received photos of my dogs on their walk. As time went on the customer service started to disintegrate. I notified Josh that I would no longer need a set schedule for walks but would still use them periodically from time to time when needed. He didn't respond back which I thought was kinda odd. Then when I tried to schedule for a walk he said they were too busy, which I understood. Then I tried to schedule again and was successful. Now a third time I tried to schedule and received no response. I just wish the communication was more consistent and I felt like since I was no longer a "regular" customer I didn't receive the same customer service. Incredibly weird and ultimately bad experience with Walks to Wags. I should start by saying that our actual walker, Lauren, was absolutely incredible. Our dog is known to excite piddle when people first come in the house, and Lauren is the only walker we've ever had who managed to defuse that with her really mellow presence and a willingness to patiently wait before leashing her up. So, the two stars notwithstanding, our actual walker was amazing. Josh, on the other hand, was really strange and frustrating to deal with. He asked fairly early on that we not communicate with Lauren directly about scheduling or anything else. This came up because we would write her to ask if she could pick our dog up from a cafe a block away instead of from the house, or to ask if she could come by at a slightly different time. All very basic stuff, but we figured it's Josh's company and he can run it how he sees fit, so we stopped contacting her directly and went through him instead. Fast forward a couple of months and we get a text from Josh accusing us of continuing to contact Lauren directly about scheduling and saying that, because of that, he's dropping us as a client effective immediately. This was simply not true. The only discussion we had continued to have with Lauren regarding scheduling was to ask her (when I saw her in person when I'd be working from home) if she could return to being our walker (still through Walks to Wags) when she returned from a long trip overseas she was about to go on since she'd been so good and we didn't have any "excited pee" problems with her. I'm not even sure if that's what Josh was referring to since he didn't choose to elaborate on his accusation, but, if so, it's incredibly bizarre. More annoying than his weird accusation and decision to drop us as a client, though, was the fact that he did this on the Monday of Memorial Day, effective immediately, leaving us with no time to scramble and make alternate dog walking plans for the upcoming week. (Weirdly enough, Lauren's last day of walking before her trip had been the previous Thursday so I'm not quite sure what happened in those intervening days to trigger Josh.) He's free to choose who he wants to keep as a client, but giving us a day or two notice to come up with other plans would have been much more professional. One other thing that I found annoying: Josh insists on billing in advance, so you have to pay for the week upfront. I explained to Josh that since our schedule was going to change week-to-week and most weeks we wouldn't be doing 5 walks, we'd be in a constant state of overpaying and then having to figure out how to credit those overpayments towards the next week's invoice. It seemed much more complicated than simply tallying up the walks at week's end and paying for what was done, but Josh insisted on doing it this way. Again, it's his business and he can run it however he likes. It just isn't at all a client-friendly approach and made the invoicing process needlessly complicated. read more

We hired Josh to walk our 3 dogs 3 times per week. For daily updates on the walks we asked him to jot a quick note in a notebook regarding what time he was there and any updates for us on the dogs. in the first 2 weeks there were a couple of instances where the time was a little off , notebook would say 12:15 but my husband would be there at 12:10 and Josh had already left but we wrote it off as a difference in clocks and decided that if it continued we would address it. At the start of the third week, my husband and I were running errands to head out of town and we came home to find a dog walker we had never met, leaving our home. He said he was Josh's business partner and that Josh had over booked clients that day. In our initial meeting with Josh he assured us that he was the only one who would walk our dogs and that we would have an opportunity to meet anyone before they walked our dogs. I called Josh to address the fact that we had not met this individual and his only justification was that he had brought this person to our house before and they had met the dogs, which is not what we had agreed to. Josh did not seem to understand that we had entrusted him with access to our home and that bringing unknown people into someone else's home is not acceptable. I asked Josh if there were other partners or if he was planning on hiring other employees any time soon and he said that he was not but that we would get to meet anyone in the future before they walked our dogs. What ultimately lead us to firing Josh was that we realized that this individual had signed the log as "Josh". Looking through the notebook we noted at least 2 different, possibly 3 different, handwritings but all said "Josh" as the person who walked the dogs. Also, the day after the incident Josh called to schedule a time for us to meet a "new" employee. Based on the incident and timing I can only assume that this person had also been coming to walk our dogs but that Josh did not want to have us discover that. After all of this we could no longer trust Josh with access to our home. read more

This review is overdue! Josh has been waking our 3yr old rescue poodle mix four days a week for about a month (started about 4 days after we adopted her). He has been an absolute delight to work with, and it is worth noting, I am not an easy customer! Since Estie is my first dog and is a rescue, I am a total overprotective worry wart. Josh communicates promptly with me to ensure we are on schedule and keeps me posted on how Estie does each day (yes, he texts me after every walk to let me know how it went -- I told you I wasn't easy). He is also extremely flexible and very reliable -- since both my husband and I work quite a bit, his being so accommodating is fantastic. We needed a pretty last minute walker for our two pups. Josh came out the following day for a quick meet and greet to get a feel of the pups. He was to walk them the following day. I have been using WTW since adopting our lovely pup Roxy in April. I can't say enough good things about them! Luke is our regular walker and he really went above and beyond to make sure Roxy was comfortable. This involved a few evening visits at first because she was really shy - now she just loves him! Josh has been wonderful called last min late in the evening, and he was able to meet me the following morning to do a meet and great, and started walking the dogs the very same day. One of My dogs was having bladder issues and I needed him to pick up another dog walking day again on short notice and he was able to make it work.
