I stopped in Saturday afternoon around 4 to watch the MSU/Eastern Michigan game. I asked for a menu and after a minute or so, I was ready to order. I waited and waited for what seemed like 30 minutes without either of the 2 bartenders interested in asking me if I was ready to order. So, I finally had to ask myself. Once, I received my food which included fries, I was never given any ketchup or a napkin set so I had to use the beverage napkins underneath my drink. I would understand more if it was crazy busy but it was dead at that time. I do like the place overall and Ill be back but some attention to basic bartending/serving responsibilities would be nice. read more

The food is awful and WAY overpriced, with an extremely limited menu. A double cheeseburger is the same size as a McDonalds double cheeseburger, but $13.00 with a $5 up charge for a tiny amount of fries. Seriously $18.00 for not even a 1/2 pound burger and fries? South Lyon hotel has a full 1 pound with fries for around the same price. Spinach dip is from Costco warmed up and served with stale chips that were obviously dipped in oil twice to make them warm. The cheesesteak has maybe 3 ounces of meat and a giant roll in hopes to fill you up. The place has great potential for a nice quiet corner to hang out with a few friends for some drinks but even the drink prices are insane! I had high hopes for this place, but it seems they are hoping to catch all the potheads next door with the munchies. We won't be back. Save your money, effort and time by going somewhere else. **Check the other reviews, we usually take them with a grain of salt, but they're spot on. read more

The Walled Lake Tavern is a far cry from a "dive bar"! The food and service are amazing! 30 yrs managing restaurants, and I wish I found this place sooner. People these days weaponize reviews. They over exaggerate their experience. Please trust a seasoned professional, this is the unknown gem of Walled Lake! We have made so many friends here. The pizza and smash burger surpass delicious! Terrible decision! Stay away, plenty of great nearby options for food, drinks and good service!

We tried the Walled Lake Tavern for the first time and won't be going back. Our server was extremely inattentive and acted put out any time we asked any kind of question. The atmosphere was typical of a bar, with a live performer, who was pretty good. The food was very average, nothing remarkable or noteworthy. When the bill came, we paid with a debit card, but was charged a fee, which is a violation of state law. Rather than raise a stink, we left and won't be returning. read more

This was our first time here and as someone who lives within walking distance to this place, we had high hopes. Unfortunately our waitress, Chanel, made our experience horrible and we will absolutely never be returning. We sat with empty glass, no orders taken ever until someone from our table got up or waved down another waitress. Chanel would come take our glasses and walk away without saying a word. I order a mixed drink and waited 20 minutes until we were able to get her attention when she went to the bar I watched the bartender grab a drink that had been sitting there and hand it to her. When it was brought to the table she slammed it down and splashed her wet fingers over it causing who knows what to get into it. When we asked if it was fresh she said "do you want to fight. We have cameras everywhere try me." Never in my life would I think someone would have the audacity to say that to someone let alone someone you are supposed to be serving. I've been in customer service management my whole career and this establishment and specifically our waitress is what I would show in a "what not to do" scenario. Mind you all this is happening while she has one other table besides us who was also trying to wave her down their whole stay. As someone who planned on being here for a couple hours for the performing artist, I'm very glad we can see him elsewhere because I would never recommend anyone coming into this place unless you enjoy being degraded and treated horrendously for simply wanting to have a dinner and two drinks. read more

I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience was so bad it felt like a personal obligation. I visited Walled Lake Tavern while in town with my family, and from the moment we walked in, it was a mess. The place was completely dead, so imagine our confusion when we were told we had to put down a credit card just to order lunch. Not a tab at the end -- no, just to EXIST as customers. My grandparents only carry cash, and being told that basically wasn't acceptable was not only ridiculous, but honestly embarrassing for the establishment. I should've taken that as our cue to leave, but unfortunately, it gets worse. The service? Painfully slow and completely inattentive , which is impressive considering there were barely any other tables. We waited 45 minutes for food that came out looking like it had lost a fight. The burgers were so overcooked they could've doubled as hockey pucks. I've had better meals for half the price at Burger King, and at least there you can have it your way LOL. This place SHOULD be good. It has everything going for it except the actual experience. My grandparents said it used to be decent, but whatever is going on now with the current owners feels like a masterclass in how to run a place straight into the ground. If you're looking to waste your time, overpay for bad food, and leave annoyed, this is your place. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and literally go anywhere else. read more

Never again. First. Time, last time. Was ignored for 30 minutes by the bartender so we left.

I'm sharing this because guest safety should always be a priority. During a recent late-night visit, I witnessed and experienced concerning behavior involving an extremely intoxicated patron who continued to be served alcohol. At one point, that individual crossed a serious physical boundary without consent. It was an uncomfortable and upsetting situation that made me question how closely alcohol service and guest conduct are monitored late at night. I hope management takes situations like this seriously and ensures that staff are attentive to overserving and maintaining a safe environment for everyone. read more

This is one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. The food, service, and ambience all left much to be desired. The music was so loud you could barely hear anyone talking across the table from you. The food was barely edible. I ordered the Caesar salad and it was drenched in dressing. My husband ordered the bacon cheeseburger and for $16 I guess I expected a little more than a burger, a few grilled onions, and some bacon. The lettuce which was included in the description was missing. For an extra 3.50 you could add on fries which we did, but they were not great. We also ordered tater tots as a side to share with some of our friends. They came out on my husband's plate and were very undercooked not to mention the serving size was very minimal, maybe 15 tots. I wish I would've taken a picture. A friend ordered beef tips and said they were mid. Drinks were fine but they were slow to come out. A friend ordered a non-alcoholic beer and was given an alcoholic beer. Not a big deal, but that could've been a huge disaster. The service was OK, but I feel like our waitress could use some training. It was hard to understand her and when serving our food, she brought it all to one end and we had to pass it to whoever had ordered it. I understand if it's hard to walk around the table, but there was plenty of space. Sometimes restaurants are busy and I will give some leeway, but there were maybe four tables filled in the whole place. Overall, our friends and myself will not be back and will not be recommending this place to anyone in the future. Which is sad because it was a great location right across from the lake. read more

Stopped by today to watch the end of the lions game. Audra hooked me up with some beer and Dylan hooked me up with some sliders. It was awesome!!! The service was great and love the ambiance. Sadly the lions wasn't as good as the tavern. I love this place!!!! read more

Met up with friends here for dinner two of us had the chicken piccata, which was outstanding. We also had the Smashburger and Philly cheesesteak sandwich which I'm told were equally outstanding. Service was good. Prices were in line with everybody else. I would highly recommend this place. read more

I really like this place and used to love coming here. It had a great atmosphere where you could enjoy a live singer and still have a conversation. However, the last couple of times we've went there, it's been way to loud. You end up having to yell just to talk, which takes away from the experience, especially in a smaller bar. We even have brought a group of friends recently and ended up leaving and going across the street because of the overly loud noise. Its also disappointing that when the singer finishes, the music gets turned up even louder, making it just as hard to have a conversation. We've left the last two times and gone elsewhere. I truly loved the vibe this place used to have, and I hope it goes back to having live music at volume where people can still enjoy both the entertainment and each other's company. read more

I really wanted this place to be good...the atmosphere is cool but I got the WLT burger and it was way over cooked only had cheese and pickles on it and then the fries were over done. I had dinner at Walled Lake Tavern today. I had the chicken marsala which was amazing and the margarita exceptionally great!! Our food and drinks were served swiftly the staff was friendly. We surprisingly hung out with one of the owners at the bar, nice guy . The lights were dim. the atmosphere was calm, relaxing and cheerful with the side of popcorn to make it fun. I'll definitely go again , Just what we needed on a snowy evening! read more
