I met an old friend at this cute little place on Sunday and we had a burger/fries and a beer. Berger amd fries were good! Bloody Mary wasn't fancy, but the bartender warned me ahead of time so it was no problem...I didn't need fancy. Friendly service;?reminds me of an old time beer garden and they have a pool table! This is one of those hidden gems. When you walk up, it's just a regular bar. Try to use the from door. No go. Wouldn't budge. That's when we discovered it's more like a speak easy and you had to go to the back building, past the hidden outside smoking lounge. The outdoor lounge/patio had an eclectic set of chairs with a faux patio covering. Very minimalistic yet very open and relaxing. Please don't change it. Once inside and you gaze upon the decor; you feel like you've been transported to a far off bar up north. I'll let you decide where. The Jameson shots we had were generously poured and we had a blast while bantering with the lead afternoon bartender. Can't wait to go back. read more

Definitely odd place. Bartender was hard of hearing, kind of uncomfortable. Burger was tasty, $3.60. Pretty cheap. I saw it prior to going on the grill it lacked oxygen (dark brown patty). I ate it, and luckily no ramifications. PBR and Bud on tap. I was working, so I had water. And it is true they have a "smoke shack" with four chairs. (How nice and trashy). I did notice Girl Scout cookies for sale for $5/box. Girl Scouts charge $4. read more

To call this place a dive is both woefully insufficient and an insult to other dive bars. This place is just vile. It started before I even entered the place. The outside is worn, ugly green bricks that instantly gives off the vibe of urban blight that would look more at home in some of the worst areas of Detroit. Right near the door is an extremely shoddy, cheap looking tent and inside the tent are 4 mismatched, chipped up, dirty plastic lawn chairs. Apparently this is the smokers lounge? A feature that seems odd since the moment I walked into the place my nose was greeted with a mixed scent of mildew, urine and stale cigarette smoke. This smell was coming from one of the two beat up doors with the word 'private' on the front. The entire place is lit in an almost ominous way, with cheap lights that wouldn't look out of place at an old bus depot. When you see what passes for decoration/atmosphere at this dump, you will be happy about the poor lighting. The walls are covered in random mismatched posters with charming images like a young boy looking up a womans skirt with the caption "seeing is believing" It only gets classier from here. The walls and counters look as though they are never dusted or wiped down. A big white ten dollar box fan sits atop the counter. Apparently this is what is used for temperature control, though it could just as easily be used to blow the dust and faint urine smell to other corners of the building. A few customers sat in near silence, slumped over the bar drinking while some trashy reality show played to an audience of no one on the overhead TV. I had come here for a beer and some food, but instantly abandoned the latter notion upon seeing the disgusting state of the place. The special of the day was sloppy joes, and, while the thought of eating just about anything here was bad enough, the image of eating the sloppy joes that would come from whatever jury rigged kitchen they had in this filth-house was enough to make me want to gag. Still, I was now really curious about what would make anyone want to stay here for longer than the time it took to glance around the place, so I decided to get the beer I had come for. I ask the waitress if they serve blue moon and she almost laughed "nope! he refuses to carry it" (whoever he is) She then (almost proudly) listed off all the stuff they DIDN'T have. I asked her what they DID have on tap, and she tells me only PBR and budwiser. I order a PBR and it comes in a weirdly warm, small mug. At this point, I realized that this place had simply nothing to offer of any value and downed my beer so I could leave. I then made the awful decision to use the bathroom before leaving (I REALLY had to tinkle). The bathroom has two "stalls" But by stalls, what I mean is toilets with SHOWER CURTAINS hung to separate them (not making this up). The bathroom is about as clean as you would guess and the smell was only slightly worse than the entire bar itself. I couldn't wait to get out of this bar and upon leaving it, I instantly had new appreciation for just about every other watering hole in metro Detroit. I don't know how the hell this place is in business and I definitely don't know how they have a license to sell food for human consumption. I can easily imagine a meth addict going in that bar, being offered food and saying "oh hell no, i'm not putting THAT in my body!" If it is Halloween and you are looking for a place with the vibe of some kind of seedy flophouse, this is the place to go. Everyone else? Avoid like the plague. read more

My friends and I have affectionately nicknamed this place "The Green Box," since it is located in a cinder block building painted neon green. For me, the initial appeal of this bar was that it was in stumbling distance to my house. However, the point was moot because my first time there, the (female) bartender offered me a ride home at the end of the night (which I promise was nice and not creepy at all). I wouldn't say that the place is full of regulars, because I have never seen it full. However, there are probably 3-4 people that provide 90% of the revenue for this place. If you're over 55 and like to complain about progressive politics, this is the place for you. That being said, I do have fun here at the end of a night out. Ask the bartender for quarters, because you'll want them for the pool table and juke box. It's just a small place that is fun to hang out at. read more

I've lived in Wixom almost 21 years and it took that long to go into this place - almost on a dare. It is an old time bar, pungent with cigarette smoke, dark and dusty. But they are a full service bar, a little light on the food - think sliders and coney islands or packaged snacks. But well drinks and draft beers allow you to drink all night and get change back from a $20. They have their regulars, a TV, a JukeBox, and couple of video games. Its worth checking it out, but its not a destination. read more

Really dope chill spot to hangout at. Food is amazing as well! Tiffany on Sunday and Monday nights is hands down one of my favorite bartenders ever. She has such wonderful energy and her Long Islands (my personal favorite drink) are the best. Definitely one of my main go to spots now and worth checking out if you haven't already. read more
