Eh... Stopped in because of a gyro special ... also ordered a plain burger. Great food, must try BLAM burger. The burgers are well made and served on Hawaiian rolls. They also have a great assortment of appetizers and desserts. The restaurant has a super hero theme. No shortage of decorations and statues of super heroes. The restaurant has marvel and DC movies playing with plenty of tvs spread around the place. Wally Burger also has a few free arcade games. I ordered take out from here two nights ago, placing my order by phone about a half before I intended to pick it up. The order was taken cheerfully and I anticipated no problems. I arrived a couple minutes before my 7:00 pick up time and found a line to the door of people waiting to place their order and no pick up line for previously placed orders. When I got to the front of the line I was told it would be a 15 minute wait, even though my order had been accepted 40 minutes prior. I reminded her I had called in my order that long ago and was informed "we are really busy " and "we have to take care of in-house customers FIRST". Then why take phone orders?????? My advice to the proprietor who thinks excuses are good enough: go hang out at Chick-fil-A and see how they handle 10x bigger crowds much more efficiently, including orders placed in advance. The food? Meh, I've had much better. The onion rings were pretty good but the gyros were pretty much as described in another negative review. The lettuce, instead of shredded was unappetizing chunks that made the gyro want to fall apart. The meat was also solid chunks, rather than sliced as an authentic gyro would be. The flavor was ok but the texture just not right. The tzaziki sauce was actually the strong point of the gyro. Considering the lack of customer service and the full of excuses attitude when it was brought to their attention, I have no plans for a return visit, even though they're only a mile away. By the way, it was 7:20 by the time I walked out the door with my 7:00 order. Edit: since the business owner chose to reply with excuses and comparisons to other restaurants I didn't mention, I'm compelled to counter. If you really want to do "a courtesy" tell people calling in an order that ordering ahead won't gain them anything. I ordered ahead because I had plans. Your "courtesy" changed that. At the suggestion I offer myself up for sacrifice from another Yelper I went here for lunch. It is situated well back from the street in a strip mall. The major tenant is Target and for spotting purposes El Paso (at least the building) is right on the corner. I opted for the 1/4 lb burger and fries for $2.99. With the addition of cheese and a shake the total came to $6.46 with tax. I was an OK burger, it came with a large bunch of fries which were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle and lightly salted. The shake came with spoon for a reason, no way could it be sucked through the narrow straw. The menu board is sort of confusing and I should have picked up one of the to go menus as I noticed many folks ordered from that. There are Gyros and Hummus which I would not expect to find in a burger shop. I noticed several of the adults ordered Gyros so maybe I ordered the wrong thing. This place is not fast. When it gets busy, the food takes longer to arrive than to eat. Unknowingly I arrived just as students from a nearby school were also arriving and even though I got my order in before them there were already several people waiting for their orders. After reading several other burger reviews in the area, we decided to take a chance on Wally Burger. I truly enjoyed the gyro with a generous 1/4 pound of tasty meat and a creamy cucumber sauce. My partner gobbled down a chicken tender sandwich with a side of fries. Washing it down with a strawberry shake, he was barely able to finish up his meal and the excess of mine. I took my family for some delicious Wally's Burgers but was very disappointed to say the least. The burgers were extremely dry, plain no flavor and it was obvious that the patties were sitting for a while ( NOT FRESH AT ALL). Poor excuse for a burger the lettuce,tomato and onions were also not fresh very old. Wings were dry, hard and flavorless just disgusting. Honestly never wrote a review before but I feel the need to let Wally Burger lovers know that they have new owners and the food is not worth your money McDonald's would definitely be a better option. It's not even about the $45 I threw away, it's about the food quality for the customers. So I wanna start off by saying I LOVE wallyburger normally (my fav burger spot probably) & despite how bad this visit was I will be back to give it another chance. I'm giving it a 3 star review this time ( normally it's 5star) today was off the burger was dry & cold and the fries were hard and cold. I always open my burger before I even drive off because it's that good that I can't resist or wait until I get home and in that time it was already cold the burger was really dry this time and only had less than a dime size squirt of mikes sauce really disappointing considering I was sick unable to eat for over a week and this has been the only thing I've been dying to eat once I felt better and it just didn't satisfy me in any way and the pattys looked horrible I wouldn't have minded if the taste was as usual but I know my next experience will probably be a 5 star experience maybe today was just an off day I'm not sure. read more

Man I'm dying to give this place bigger reviews! Its in my list of places to revisit, but for now...3/5 is all. The French fries are crinkle and great. The Greek influence is obvious and a welcome change from the typical. Their business model is a cross between fast food, family diner, and cultural experience. It's definitely worth a trip to try for yourself. I'm told the wings are fantastic... They will be what I have next trip. The staff is extremely kind and welcoming! Then the owner came out from the kitchen and must have recognized my first time clueless expression and took control, letting me know I could build my own or go with the menu items - scrumptious pictures included. I went with the gold standard namesake Ultimate Wally Combo and was happy I did. Big enough to satisfy the hungriest, juicy enough to make a mess, a sure sign of a good burger, and onion rings and fries. The fries are a good thick cut and have a crispness on the outside but you can taste the freezer. The onion rings were perfect along with the burger. I saw this place on a facebook add and had really low expectations because design of the place and location. Its dirty and very tacky but i ordered the bacon double cheeseburger and was honestly shocked at how good it was i ended up going back in and ordering another. Service is slow and food is horrible, to be really honest I would rather eat McDonald's than to eat here again.  Food is not cook properly, it's like eating pig slop, To begin the bun of the burger "So call Hawaiian Bread" is all wet and soggy from the green-brownish moist texture lettuce with a 5-day old brown-reddish tomato on top. The beef was flavorless and extreme burnt (Char Boiled) the after-taste is kinda like a sour taste. The fries are hard, and tasteless normally you would add salt to fries after taking them out of cooking grease (inside tip).  How's can you call yourself the best burger and gyro restaurant in Glendale/Phoenix when you're not even the best in the shopping plaza, I would eat a Denny's Restaurant burger over Wally Burger any day. As someone that's work in the restaurant industry for 10+ plus I beg of you please fix your quality of food and your service. read more

My husband and I tried this place today and thought it was pretty good. He had the ultimate burger with onion rings and I had the blam bacon burger with fries. The burger buns are a four pack of Hawaiian sweet rolls toasted. We both really enjoyed our meals. Super friend staff! The staff is friendly and my first time there I had a whole presentation given to me of many of the menu items!! It was so refreshing, when many times burger joints just want your order and payment. These people treat you like you are family. I felt so incredibly welcomed. Their ambiance and choice of decor is THE BEST! They have super hero's and villains everywhere from Marvel to DC! My husband and I love it! My husband also really loves their food and his favorite is the gyro, and we both have a high appreciation for the fries, onion rings that are battered! We ate here for the first time yesterday. The burgers were flavorful and juicy. I love that they use King's Hawaiian rolls for the bun. The onion rings were thin and crispy with onion in every bite. There are lots of condiments to choose from. You can build your own burger or get one of their specialty burgers. The food was fresh and hot. Great customer service. The owner came by our table to make sure we were happy with our food. She was very friendly. This is a small, family owed business. Cool Marvel comics decor. I want to try thier cheese steak when I return. They have many desserts also ( deep fried brownies, Twinkies etc). This is a foodies paradise which I highly recommend. read more
