We started off with the house lentil soup and even though it's hot outside, it was so tasty. The lentils were cooked well and drenched in warm spices. I had the veggie sampler with falafel, Greek salad, dolmas, hummus, tzatziki sauce, pitas and more. The falafel was fried to a crisp and very flavorful. Best Chicken Shawarma I've ever had! I usually enjoy Mediterranean food but this Lebanese-style Mediterranean food is hands down my favorite. I enjoy chicken and my husband the lamb. They even have a menu for the picky eaters like my son. They start you off with a yummy lentil soup. We had our waitress quickly serve us our drinks and always checking in to see if we need anything. Yes, the restaurant is a little outdated but I feel it is what separates Wally's from most. The owner is usually around and makes us feel like we are over his house for dinner. We've been here when it's busy and although we don't mind the wait, the owner sent us some baklava and ice cream for the kids. I definitely recommend visiting this gem. read more

Our first time at Wally's and we will definitely be back! First impression, very clean with a friendly welcoming staff. We were seated immediately and provided with menus and water. A moment later the server took our drink orders and brought us a complementary bowl of delicious lentil soup. We've never been to a Lebanese restaurant before and the waitress was very helpful in recommending several items on their menu. My husband had the Chicken Shawarma plate. Grilled chicken with rice pilaf, salad, and pita bread with two dipping sauces. I had the Shrimp Kabob plate. 12 big shrimp over rice pilaf served with salad and pita bread with dipping sauces. Both of our meals were absolutely delicious. Wonderful seasonings and beautifully prepared. Can't wait to try so many other things on their menu. They also provided us with two servings of homemade baklava at the end of our meal. They serve beer and wine too which was nice. The owner checked in on us while we ate to make sure that everything was to our satisfaction. Again, very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. This is authentic, delicious, quality, Lebanese food, and it's local! I love that their menu is just big enough, but not too large to make it confusing. I originally started out only eating their veggie platter, but I have expanded to chicken kebabs, lamb gyros, and virtually everything else. I've even tried their burgers and they're great! When you are at their restaurant, they start you out with a small bowl of lentil soup, which is so delicious, fresh naan bread, which is also amazing, and a drink. Once you place the order, you don't have to wait long before you are brought out your entrée. I've never left without a to go box because their servings are super generous! Lately, we've been ordering Wally's for delivery, just because we live about 40 minutes away. They can be found on five different online ordering platforms, so you shouldn't have any issues having them delivered. They don't skimp on their to go portions either, and the only thing I miss about eating in their restaurant is the friendly service. They really do roll out the red carpet for folks, especially when they start recognizing you. They have brought us delicious pickled vegetables as a treat, and to say thank you for our patronage. Oh, don't forget to order extra of their homemade baklava! It's so good that the one they provide per person/entrée just isn't quite enough. I also have to highly recommend their mint lemonade. This restaurant is in a small strip mall with parking out front. There is a lot of seating and you order at the cash register then they bring your food to you. Unexpectedly, they brought us a complimentary bowl of delicious lentil soup and with the bill gave us a piece of baklava. We ordered wraps and they were soooo good. We've been wanting to come here for ages! I can see why they have a 4 star rating with over 1k reviews on here! Immediately you feel like family. A few minutes after we sat down, we were given a cup of some of the best lentil soup that we've ever had, and some waters. I ordered the chicken liver plate which came with rice, salad, tzatziki, and a delicious garlic dip. I love chicken liver lol and everything on my plate was delicious. Huge portions! My hubby got the gyros plate, and oh my goodness...the gyros were so good!! The flavors were incredible. We were then given a complimentary plate of amazing baklava! They were so generous here :) the baklava was delicious too, and not too sweet. Nice big restaurant with lots of half booths, regular booths, and tables. Very clean bathroom. I don't know how this place made Yelp Top 100. What are the standards?? We came in around 3pm on Saturday. When we were ready to order we asked a waitress if we could and she said wait and never came back. I thought that was weird. A few minutes later free lentil soup was brought to the table. It was good and hit the spot. We were thankful. After we ordered it all changed. We ordered the pomegranate chicken, lamb/steak gyro plate, chicken shawarma and a beef shawarma. Our ordered drinks did not come out until we asked again and still took long. Our food took very long. I started looking around and saw two tables that came in well after us eating. Then I saw Wally bringing them one of our plates (ordered double rice instead of salad on one). Even they were confused and rejected it. He then brought it to the other table that came in after us. After they rejected he brought it to us. I didn't like the fact that our food was handled now by two other tables. It was only the lamb and steak gyro plate too. 10 mins later the pomegranate chicken came out. 10 mins later the beef shawarma arrived and another 5 mins for the chicken shawarma. It was clear they were remaking our order one at a time because they gave our food away to the other tables. No apologies. The food was not flavorful at all. We very excited to try this "Yelp Top 100" spot but were severely disappointed. Not even including the poor service. It was bland, tasteless and there was a lot of fat in the beef shawarma. The pomegranate chicken was very, very tart. Not good at all. Barely edible. No balance. The rice usually is my daughter's favorite that's why we get double rice but she barely touched it. It was flavorless like white rice. The beef/lamb gyro pieces were very thick and we usually get shaved. Was ok. The beef shawarma had no vegetables even though it said lettuce, tomato and onion. The chicken shawarma barely had any chicken. It was all lettuce, onion and tomatoes. I wish I took pictures but I was very disappointed, wanted to leave and wasn't planning on posting anything because the experience. The crinkle fries were our favorite. At the end they gave us baklava and some sorbet on the house. It was good but didn't come close to making up for the flavorless food and poor service. I normally love Lebanese food, Mediterranean food and especially beef shawarmas. I've had much better at a place close to my home. This was easily the worst I've had as far back as I can remember. Even my kids didn't eat... If you've never had Lebanese food you might like this place. If you have and know how flavorful, aromatic and tasty it should be then find another better place. Lentil soup, crinkle fries and the sorbet were our favorites. Everything else was bland. This place has been hiding under the Yelp 100 banner. Never coming back here again. Not that it really mattered (I'm here for the food) but the ambiance wasn't fresh either. Looked like they haven't changed a thing since they opened. Smelled questionable in some areas. read more

I would like to thank Wally and his group for the wonderful experience my 15yo son and I had tonight. I originally ordered food to go because I knew it was close to the time they close, but when I arrived to pick it up I saw a few people there, so I asked if we could sit. The woman who greeted us was warm and welcoming. She didn't look bothered, but - hospitable. She brought us waters as we sat and unwrapped our food. A man (who I later found out was Wally) brought us plates and forks. The food was very tasty. I can't remember being at a Lebanese restaurant. It was simple and unassuming. Perfect for us. We ordered chicken schawarma, the mixed meat plate, hummus, and dolmas. The portions of our plates were generous, with large side salads and the complimentary lentil soup and baklava I read about. Everything had a great flavor. My son didn't speak/breathe until every bit of his food was gone. Wally was kind to chat with us and tell us the story of how they came to Rocklin from the Bay. It melts in your mouth and the pistachio flavor is mouthwatering. I ordered 2 pcs baklava to go that I ate in the car because I couldn't wait until I got home- it's that good.
