Having eaten at Mendocino Farms once before in San Diego, I was excited to find out they also had one in Roseville. I ordered in advance. A Peruvian Steak & Mama Zuma's Habanero Chips. Upon walking inside around 4:30, there were actually quite a bit of patrons eating. My food was ready on the counter so I picked it up and went my way back home. The food? It was a mixed bag. I was excited to try the potato chips, but it was no where to be found. Was I supposed to grab it on the way out? No idea - should have checked my bag prior to walking out. The peruvian steak was delicious but wildly inconsistent. First few bites were quite salty. I believe the sandwich itself, the ingredients weren't quite distributed properly. This felt like I needed a waiver. Now, the star of the show: a single, solitary slice of turkey. One. Uno. Just vibing in there like it showed up early and nobody else came to the party. I kept looking around the sandwich like, "Is there more hiding somewhere? A sequel? A director's cut?" Nope. That one slice is carrying the entire protein department on its back, and honestly... it looks tired. The rest of the cast includes a chunky tomato that's doing a lot of heavy lifting (respect), some greens that seem to be actively trying to escape, and a swipe of something green avocado, I think? that's just trying to keep morale up. I really do enjoy some of their items. I wish they kept the pita crunch salad. I really liked it. They have seasonal items that come and go. Sometimes their everyday items are out of stock, which isn't so great. But they have been pretty consistent for quality. We've done takeout and eat in. The place was clean and the staff were nice. We ordered a few salads and a half sandwich with side as well as a kids pizza. The food is good here, but nothing spectacular. I did feel that it took while for food to come out- especially for a fast-casual place, but the employees were super friendly. I really appreciated the lack of a soda fountain and instead a variety of teas and lemonades. You don't often see that. We would really like to give this restaurant 5 stars. The quality of the food we have tried has been inconsistent. Some sandwiches are carefully made and are delicious, while others look like they have been thrown together resulting in a messy mass of ingredients that are hard to eat. We have eaten in, picked up food and had it delivered. Sometimes items have been left off pick up and delivery orders. When made aware of missing items they are quick to credit our account, but it is disappointing to not receive what we have ordered. No complaints about anything I ate. The chicken sandwich came with a side of Golden barbecue sauce and mustard remoulade. The taste of the food is really exceptional. Worth the lofty price points that are set. For a full sized salad, a half sandwich, a side, and a cookie (after taxes and tip) it totaled $35. Customer service was satisfactory. The sandwich itself had good flavor, but it was very small for the price. The advertisement photo showed chips on the side, but they were not included. The chicken soup was tasty as well. The worst part of the experience was the cleanliness. My spoon was dirty, so I asked for another one, and the replacement spoon was still dirty. I even took a picture of it. For a small sandwich and small soup, the total came to $21.23, which felt overpriced for what we received. They also did not offer a military discount. Overall, the food tasted decent, but the portions, cleanliness issues, and pricing made this a disappointing experience. We dined in, from what I've seen 80% were take out.
