Wally's is connected to Rhein Haus, so you're really coming to two bars/restaurants in one! They have some fun Wisconsin-type foods on the menu, but I'd say it is mostly bar food that they offer, with a few exceptions such as the goulash. They also have free popcorn, heeeyyy!! Scoop you some. This is one of my options for watching Packers games in Denver, so that's usually when I'm here. They have some decent drink specials sometimes, but then it's sad when they go away -- like the bottomless mimosas!!! Bring them back!!! read more

Home away from home for the midwesterner! We visited Wally's/Rhein Haus on Sunday ahead of the PWHL game because of its proximity to Ball Arena and were pleasantly surprised to find this spot PACKED to the brim (Broncos playoffs). Happy to report that I see why! First, and bar with free self-serve popcorn is a winner in my book. If you're from the upper Midwest, you'll be pleasantly surprised by their menu items, too. The best part? The prices are straight from the Midwest too! I ordered the grilled cheese and red chili, adding bacon of course, and got a slice of home. Classic sourdough sliced bread with American cheese and two hefty pieces of bacon. My friends enjoyed the Mac and cheese, complete with elbow pasta, and the poutine. The interior was pleasant too, classic wood booths affixed parallel to a round bar, all within eyesight of a tv! Needless to say, I will definitely be back to try some more of their Wisconsin inspired menu items, just might have to check the football schedule first! read more

Wally's Wisconsin Tavern was such a pleasant surprise! We had flown in late on a Friday night and were looking for someplace that would be open and serving food. Yelp helped us find this gem. We walked in and made our way to the bar. They were still serving their late night bite menu, and this menu actually had a lot to offer. We ordered a pitcher of Bell's, cheese curds, fried pickles, and wings. The staff working the bar was amazing- super friendly and they helped us make our choices on food. We found out from them that people LOVE their blue cheese, and after trying it we agree. The cheese curds were perfect, exactly what you'd expect from Wisconsin, and for $10 the portion was really generous. The fried pickles were pickle slices and were also well done, not too soggy and they had a great dill flavor. Also a great portion for $10. The wings were a bit too chewy for our taste (we like them crispy) but the buffalo sauce was great and the blue cheese they make is awesome. I also liked that it came with celery and carrots. Our beer was delicious, I forget which Bell's it was, but it was a fruity (maybe a berry) one. We had a good time chatting about the midwest, sports, and restaurants with the bartender and would have gone back if we had more time during the visit. The funny thing is, when we mentioned this spot to our local family and friends they all knew the place and were glad we got to experience it. Being from Milwaukee I really wanted to love this place. But honestly the vibe was great. Wife had a stew that was really tasty. But my fish fry was not very good. Fry's were average, Tatar was dull, like eating mayo straight. It needed more relish and lemon juice. The fish was either in the fryer too long or under heat lamp too long. Ok...this was a random stop after the ghost tour and one of the best food choices we made. Definitely liked the pin cushion at the front and the passion for Wisconsin sports was evident all over. Ordered from Wally's for delivery to our hotel after a long day. Family of five ordered a couple grilled cheese sandwiches with chili, an order of chicken tenders with fries, an order of chicken wings and a cheeseburger. Also ordered some cheese curds and a homemade pretzel to share. All of the food was pretty tasty, our favorite was probably the chicken tenders or chicken wings. Unfortunately the side salad that was ordered with my burger did not arrive...funny thing is those of us that had chili and/or burger ended up having some wild dreams that night! Service is fairly fast and friendly, and it's a great spot for a quick bite and a beer before heading to Ball Arena. I'm not a big beer drinker but felt like they had enough variety on draft to have a glass of something that appealed to me, but they also have wine and cocktails for those who want something besides beer. For food I had the classic brat from the Rhein Haus menu with sweet potato fries. This came topped with the driest sauerkraut I've ever had and sat on top of a dry bun. Fries were alright though and I appreciated the pickle for some moisture. Overall wouldn't come back here for food, but drinks and ambience were great! Every booth seat area even has its own mini TV so it's a great place to hang out with friends and watch games. read more

Calling all Wisconsinites, this place is made for you! I found this place by accident. I happened to be in Rhein Haus, and we asked if there was room to sit anywhere. We were on a hunt for 6 beers all day. The hostess says yes, you can sit at the bar go to the far right, that opening is the bar.....I was lost because I have been to Rhein Haus before the bar was right in front of me to the left. We listened and went far right.....Wow oh wow! It was like being dropped smack dab in the middle of Wisconsin, it brought back high school memories living in Wisconsin, mainly Appleton! Luckily, there were 2 seats left, so we sat & asked for the pumpkin beer they carried currently. Pleasantly, to my surprise, it's the same owners as Rheun Haus! Yay! The big difference is that there was nothing but a sea of Green & Gold for Packer fans and Red & White for Badger fans. I was waiting for Buckey to come out running up & down the aisle. This is a cool bar for any Wisconsin fan. We had the Pepperoni Flatbread pizza with jalapeños, and a pumpkin Ale. The pizza dough was nice and fluffy with great flavor. It went well with the pumpkin ale. Next to us, we saw 1 of the really nice & cool bartenders making someone a fishbowl drink. The drink has a flashing ice cube & topped with Swedish fish, pretty cool looking. If you a fan of any Wiscon team this is the place to be at. I went with 2 friends last Saturday night (5/31/25) and had the best time ever. We were out celebrating my 30th birthday. Keith was bartending and made the whole evening incredibly enjoyable. When we first walked in, we were originally looking for a bar with a rooftop option, but Wally's looked more our speed, being from mid-west. We ended up staying until close because we were having such a great time. Keith was extremely personable and made sure to always check in with us to see that we had any drinks or food. We are from Wisconsin living in Denver so we had to try Wally's! We loved it. I was expecting the food to be typical bar food, but it far surpassed my expectations. The food was delicious, and I loved that you could order and pay your tab directly on your phone! That was super cool, we were able to order on our own terms and not wait for someone to come to our table. Wally's was packed out (naturally ~ people love them some cheesecurds), but the waiter was nice enough to let us sit on the Rheinhaus side. Service was pretty slow (it took nearly 15 minutes for us to get any service) buuuut we were happy when we got $4 cheesecurds with unlimited toppings. So much cheese. So much salt. So much yum. Bartenender was very nice and atmosphere was very casual. Less than 5 minutes after 11 pm last call manager aggressively announced that drinks needed be finished in 10 minutes. Then when it was closing time manage again aggresively addresseed customers. It also seemed bartender was distressed to rush closing. You can still order all the beers and food from Rhein Haus but they do have their own menu as well, with some Wisconsin style food and local Wisconsin beers. I love their cheese curds and the "you betcha basket". During the football season they have Jell-O shots and they always have my favorite, pickle shots.
