I was miffed about this since the maintenance countdown was at around 800 miles when I left. Still, I reasoned that I could just take care of it in VA (and secretly prayed I wouldn't get the low oil warning while on the highway). We made it into town fine. Last night on a 4th meal run the dang low oil light came on (3,000 miles since my last oil change mind you smh) and I said welp I'll just get an oil change anyway instead of topping it off. Now, I've only had dealer changes under maintenance plan or at my actual mechanic so living like the proletariat and going to a quickie lube service did not bring me joy. The $15 off full synthetic coupon did. As did the fact that I could sit in the car in my jammies. Ahem. I pulled up and was in the service bay within 10-15 minutes. This is when the fun started. No one could get my hood open. It's basically just a double tap on the hood once I pop it from inside. At one point there were 5 people trying to get it open. Hello - doesn't anyone YouTube??? During this roundabout the mulberry bush that was the bonnet, someone else asked where is the brake fluid? Like--- I was asked about all the services that don't actually need to be done and declined natch. Then I was told my front wipers were fine (they aren't, they're shredded like cheese) but the back one was "a little flat." It's actually perfect. I bet if I did a price comparison on front vs back wipers id fine something interesting... Again, I declined. Oil change is complete and I roll off only to see that the service light wasn't reset. So then I rolled back around lol. At one point my brother texted me "dude just get the hell out of there." That said, the employees were nice. I don't see too many MINIs in this rural town and experience is the best teacher so I guess they were learning on the fly. I was hype about the total $104 price for a full synthetic oil change. MINI and my guy typically take me behind the woodshed for $130-$140. But they also know where the brake fluid is sooooo. The real test will be if I make it the 500 miles back home unscathed. Update: 4 months later and during my state inspection, the mechanic found my coolant was extremely…read morelow. After a pressure test, the issue was the exact hose Firestone replaced... Come to find out, the heater hose that had been replaced wasn't even on correctly!! It was sliding on and off and would not click into place. I don't know if the gave me the wrong size hose, a faulty hose, or just didn't care enough to do it correctly, but there's no reason why it should break within 4 months. The reason I didn't fully dump coolant was because the hose expands when the car runs, so it creates a good seal. When it cools, since it wasn't on right, my car slowly leaked coolant over several months. I'm so glad that I ended up only paying 220 for this hose, because the original quote was over $600. If I had paid over 600 to get a hose that would break in less than a year, I'd be furious. I am still pretty upset because my mechanic thinks that Firestone just forced the hose to fit on there when it shouldn't have been. I will not take my car here again, that's for sure!

When they called me back, they told me they couldn't find anything wrong with the tire, even after they took it off the vehicle and everything. Since nothing was wrong, they didn't charge me any fee or anything! They even replaced the valve on the tire for free for me incase it just wasn't reading right. They even checked things like my break pads and battery. Thankfully, they found out my battery (less than a year old) was almost dead! Thank god they checked or I could've been stranded somewhere. I called them up while we were waiting for our tow and we discussed if they had the tire in stock or if we could just go with what they did have. The person I spoke to was so helpful, she looked up the tire and said it needed to be ordered. I was also told they could replace all four tires and get us on our way that day. We ended up going with that option and were able to be towed to the NTB in time to get that done. Joe and his team kept us informed throughout and got us on our way as soon as they could. When I arrived, Steve said he had it put on a lift and they "discovered" that all of the pipes and joints were so rusty, that he was afraid that when he started cutting into it, that basically the entire undercarriage would have to be replaced : large rear muffler, large front muffler, the small muffler we spoke about, ALL the piping and "probably more". I asked how much and was told "at least $1200". They said they'd order the parts for the next day. When I left, I could hear odd knocking on the bottom and the smell of exhaust in the front cabin that wasn't there before, or ever. I called back the next day to report this and was blown off with "ma'am, you have an exhaust leak and the knocking you are hearing is because you probably drove over something". I knew then they were not on the up and up, so I played along and asked if my parts came in. They said yes, all but one. I asked what they were missing and was told "a part". He kept saying "just a part" but would not tell me WHAT part. Finally I was forceful and told him I needed the name of "the part". . Steve finally said, the Catalytic Converter. Horses***!. Next they told me my tires needed to be rotated. I believe their tactics to upsell their services lack integrity, and I will never send another vehicle to them.
