Me being me, I asked him lots of questions and he not only answered the question, but explained WHY things are the way they are. I was late on getting my oil changed so Nicholas even set my cars maintenance reminder so I wouldn't forget next time. He really went the extra mile to help this old lady! I appreciate his kindness. Most people nowadays just do what's required and nothing more. Thank you Nicholas for a job EXCEPTIONALLY done!!

My mom recommended Alfredo at Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers after they had helped her out with a flat tire, and I'm so glad I went. Alfredo took the time to walk me through everything. He measured each of my tires in front of me, explained what I was looking at, and assured me he would inspect everything Firestone had flagged before doing any work. He also promised to call my husband with a quote before proceeding. The result? All four tires were safely in the green, my brakes measured 8 mm and 6 mm (with plenty of life left), and none of the major repairs I had been told were urgently needed turned out to be necessary. Alfredo saved us a huge amount of money, but more importantly, he gave us peace of mind. It's rare to find someone who takes the time to educate customers instead of just selling them repairs. Honest, transparent, and genuinely excellent customer service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alfredo and the team to anyone looking for a mechanic they can trust. (And rest assured I will be giving Firestone a piece of my mind immediately after submitting this :))

But the experience quickly declined from there. Very friendly on the phone turned into a challenge when I dropped my truck off. They were upfront and told me they were backed up so I left it with them and went about my day. 6 hours later, when I returned, my truck was still parked in the same place and hadn't been touched. However, somehow they'd been able to clairvoyantly determine that it needed new brakes and an oil change. They'd even called me to tell me as much. I'm very glad that I told them no - I change my own brakes and oil. When I expressed my confusion to the gentleman inside (I promise I was polite) I was met with a mixture of blank stares and assurances that the manager would be right out. Right out meant 30 minutes and they were closing the store for the day - my truck still not serviced. I was told by the manager that they'd had a busy day and would need me to bring my truck back the next day. You could possibly see my concern at this point, which I expressed to the manager too. Let me just say that I did not go back. I will not go back, and I cannot recommend this location to anyone. All I really needed was a phone call and some honesty - but those two things seem to be absent from the customer no service of today's business. I'm glad that I don't run my business this way!

I've been a loyal customer of Pep Boys for years, but after my last experience, I'll never set foot…read morein any of their shops again. My car began to malfunction, and trusting them, I brought it in. Before I even reached the counter, I overheard someone from the garage scream, "Here comes an opportunity." Red Flag. Once the diagnostic was done, I was told repairs would cost upwards of $10,000. I'm no mechanic, but I know manipulation when I see it. I asked for a print off of the required repairs and was told that "they don't do that". Feeling uneasy, I sought a second opinion. In the end, the repairs cost me $200. All I needed was a couple of hoses, and some spark plugs. It was crystal clear that Pep Boys was trying to take advantage of me. What's worse, I overheard a manager berating an employee for not "getting more" out of a customer. They didn't think I heard, but I did. On top of that, I was told by someone else that while they visited the shop they overheard a district manager discussing with their team how desperately they need to repair their customer relationships because so many people are coming forward about being swindled too. I'm sharing this to warn anyone considering Pep Boys, do not trust them. There are honest auto repair professionals out there. The people at Pep Boys, however are nothing but crooks. They do brakes and oil changes. That's it. They aren't mechanics. I learned from a former employee of theirs that the reason they charge so much for repairs that because they outsource the work to actual mechanics, then overcharge so they can get their profit. Let my experience be your cautionary tale. Don't trust them.

As I walked to the front of my car, I got down on one knee to ensure they had replaced all of my trim clips on my splash guard.( I did this because in time past they were not all replaced) As I bent over, I noticed oil pouring out from around my splash guard. I jumped up and ran to cut the car off. One of the techs looked over and asked, whats wrong? I told him my car is pouring oil out. Andrew was inside the building looking out, so I went in and explained to him what the problem was. At this time one of the techs got in the car and was going to start it to take it back in the shop, and the other tech yells at him. "Dont start that car up". Andrew went outside and had a dicussion with them and they pushed in back into the shop. Later he, andrew, came to me very apologetic and professional saying the oil filter was not tighten properly. I was frustrated, and dissapointed in what had just happened. I simply said, this could've been very bad if I had not looked under my car and drove off. He agreed and still apologetic. I told him its not your fault and I know you want things here done right. I hope this will serve to them as a learning tool to pay attention to detail. I will continue to take my car there because I trust them, however, I will contine to be very observant of what they are doing and check to see that job is done correctly. In all honesty, I should'nt have to.

I asked them to please check all my fluids and the air in my tires, which they were happy to do. The technician told me I needed break fluid. I found this interesting, because my car had just turned 40,000 miles and I had never in my life added break fluid to a vehicle. He said to take it to a brake place and mentioned two, and have my brake pads checked and the fluid adjusted. After getting home, I thought, "Why didn't he top off the brake fluid?" I went back the next day and was told "they don't do that," and they suggested going across the street to Tire Discounters. Tire Discounters told me that brake fluid is not something people "top off" or add at home due to its flammability and that they needed to schedule me an appointment to have the brake pads checked. This was a huge waste of time and effort that should have been explained better and more thoroughly by the Valvoline Team. Thankfully, the car checked out great at Tire Discounters and they did not charge me anything and I've had no issues with the car. I had to knock a star for the poor communication with the Tech at Valvoline. Also, I don't like that Valvoline doesn't check your brake lights, head lights, turn signals and horn. As you know, its impossible to check these things yourself. I had them replace my rear window wiper blade and, to their credit, they did a good job on that.

I needed a set of spark plugs and there were two very different options. The VIN couldn't be deciphered to tell which type I needed but there was no doubt that only one style was going to work. As I was about to buy both sets (and return the set that I didn't need), a young man behind the counter jumped up with his tools and asked me to take him to my vehicle. These guys went above and beyond as he removed one of my old spark plugs and from that, it was easy pickings. A new spark plug went in its place, and I am 1/6 done.
