As a 20 year Police officer in this great State of Utah who now works in a health saving medical field, I wanted to share my negative experience. I went in to the South Jordan O'REILLY'S on redwood road and just north of 10600 South to price a part for my infinti. They gave me the price and information about the part. I then went to my car and called AutoZone to compare. AutoZone was about 30 dollars less. I confirmed the part number including manufacturer as the exact same part. I walked back into O'Reilly and told them AutoZone has the exact same part for less and if they would price match. the older gentleman said sure thing and looked up the information on Autozones website to confirm. He found the part and then asked who I figured was the manager or ASSistant manager how to do it. The person he asked said they do not price match with AutoZone but he would give me an extended warranty on the part. I asked them if it was a company policy that they don't ( knowing they do from past experiences). He said yes. I knew at this point it was one of 3 things. 1. Because I was dressed in a tie that he figured he could get full price. 2. He was having a bad day and didn't feel like keeping a customer 3. He did not like that I was not Caucasian Any of the above reason is unacceptable and I will never go to that store again. Just so you know. I called the Riverton store and they were very helpful even tho they did not have the part. The person on the phone confirmed that O'Reilly's does price match and he directed me to the draper store to pick up the part. I arrived at the draper store, picked up the price matched part and continued my day. SOUTH JORDAN O'REILLY'S on redwood road and 10600 South. You have a bigger issue than you realize with your staff or maybe you do and prefer to do business that way. I will do my best to tell everyone I come across about my experience with your store. I may even post it on social media in hopes it gets picked up by a news station. I protected your right to be able to deny someone service. Atleast be honest and say you will not price match in this situation instead of lying

I needed a new headlight bulb and license…read moreplate bulbs for my 2016 Mini Cooper and they were not only super helpful, had the parts in stock, gave me installation tips, but saved me a few hundred dollars vs the egregious quote I received from the Murray Mini Cooper service department, who tried to cheat me out of $1000: "I had my 2016 Mini Cooper Countryman serviced at Murray Mini Cooper for an oil change, which they did just fine. But they wanted to replace my water pump and pulley for $650+ because "there were surface cracks" on the water pump pulley. And they wanted to replace my license plate bulbs for $95 because they were burnt out. I've owned 4 Mini Coopers; surface cracks on the water pump pulley are expected; "Surface cracks (1) form on the drive pulley over time. These cracks are normal and have no effect on the integrity of the friction surface..." https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2015/MC-10147906-9999.pdf And I bought new license plate bulbs at Napa for $14, popped out the license plate lamps with a pocket knife, and swapped out the bulbs in 5 minutes. Mini of Murray suggested repairs that were not needed. Shady service department. I'll be posting my experience on Social Media and warning all other Mini Cooper owners. Called the store for warranty information and my purchase record wasn't available? I found my receipt and went the store in person. They honored the warranty and placed a new battery on the counter. I asked them if they had tools because it looked like I was the mechanic that day. They offered up the tools and I switched the battery out. FYI: A good auto parts store would offer to install and battery as well as have my purchase information in their system. Cast in point: Always keep your receipts because without due diligence the new battery would have cost me out of pocket. Seems a little sketchy that my warranty information wasn't in their system. Just saying and always make sure your purchase information is in their system.
