Several friends recommended Edward Lee's shop in Sugar Land, near Highway 6 and the Settlers Way area. It's a 30-35 minute drive for me, but I was told Edward is honest and trustworthy, so I decided to get a second opinion. I called on a Mon morning, and Edward mentioned he was pretty busy and suggested I come in on Tues January 6. He had a doctor's appointment that morning and asked us to arrive at 11:15 am, which we did. After explaining the issues, he diagnosed the problem by 12:30 pm and recommended four items to be fixed. The total quote came close to $2K which was more than I expected. His initial assessment aligned with what my former mechanic had said, but additional repairs--especially replacing the spark plugs. While that hurt the budget, I understood the necessity. I had afternoon commitments, so I asked if a loaner car was available. I truly appreciated Edward lending me his Toyota Camry so I could make it to my event. He promised my car would be ready by 5:30 pm and I returned to pick it up as scheduled. Unfortunately, within five minutes of driving, the engine light came on and the car began shaking slightly. I immediately returned, and Edward told me to keep the loaner car overnight and come back on Wednesday so he could run a more thorough diagnostic. On Wed around 11 am, he texted to say the car was ready. I picked it up at 1 pm, and I've been driving it for several days now with no issues. Overall, despite the initial hiccup, I'm grateful Edward was able to take me in, stand behind his work, and ultimately fix my vehicle. I had a coupon from Sterling McCall Toyota for $9.99 synthetic oil change but thought it might only be maybe $30 more and less wait at this place. The quicker service was not worth $90!!!
