I was heading to a restaurant that is in the same area as this Walmart and since I needed a few items for the house I decided to stop by while I was near. The shelves were neat and well organized. All of the items that I needed were in stock. I grabbed some cleaning supplies for the house and I also went to look around in the ladies clothing department. I saw a couple of nightshirts that I liked and I went to try them on so I could decide on one of them. The fitting room seemed very well maintained. Once I tried on both nightshirts they both fit well and looked so great that I couldn't make up my mind which of them to take home with me. So since the prices on them were reasonable I ended up purchasing both of them. The employees in the store were all a pleasure to deal with including the fitting room attendant, the staff working the sales floor and the cashier who rang up my items. The store was clean and tidy including the sales floor, the checkout area and the restrooms. The parking lot was also well kept up. I enjoyed shopping at this location. read more

Before driving to the Danvers Walmart, I wrote a list of items to purchase. The website confirmed all items to be "in stock" at the store. With the list in hand, I began shopping and...you guessed it...most of the items the website showed "in stock" were NOT in stock. Here is a tip... I urge you NOT to order online from the Danvers Walmart. The website and store inventory do not correspond with each other in any way. If you place an order online for pickup or delivery, there is a 100% guarantee you will NOT receive all the items you ordered. This will become a hassle with the payment process. Make sure to keep records of everything (i.e. your original order receipt, the items received receipt, etc.). When the Walmart store omits items from online orders, you will find inaccuracies on charges to your account. Calling the store for resolution only leads to hitting a wall. Calling customer service is the only way to resolve the issue and adjust the charges to your account, which takes five to seven business days (even though they immediately charge your account). read more

Walmart is competing with Amazon. They're trying to clean up their act. No more polyester clothing at cost,but more cotton and more variety. It has a club like Amazon and offers one day delivery. I'm cheering for them. It took them awhile to listen to corporations saying they have the stores and warehouses in place- they just needed to upgrade. This location is a 1star %#^+ parade. I placed an online order. I showed up early about 30 minutes. I didn't mind waiting, so I showed up. When I arrived, I'm told they didn't have my order. I showed my email confirmation Said I didn't mind waiting. The employee was short with me, and had to go get someone else who said the same thing. They couldn't find my order. He said he'd have to go put it together and I politely said I didn't mind waiting, and he snapped at me and muttered under his breath acting like it was a huge deal for me to sit there and wait. So I called to chat with customer service, and politely asked what was happening. At the same time I am on the phone, I received an email saying my order was delayed. The phone rep was rude, and I said he didn't need to be rude, I was just looking for an answer as to what was happening because the two reps just complained, they didn't actually give me an answer. The rep hung up on me. So I called back again, and the next rep was really apologetic and got me an answer. Escalated the issue, and at this point, decided to just go pick up at Target instead so I cancelled the order. Rudest pick up order reps I have ever dealt with. Target is better. Go there instead. The Danvers store is a disgrace, first of all there is never anyone to help, and when you can find a person; they don't know how to do their job. I used the money service at the Danvers store, the recipient of the money didn't pick it up in time and the transaction was cancelled. I called RIA services (money transfer company) and they told me I could go to the store where I sent the money from and receive the refund. I went to the Danvers store multiple times and left without my money because they either didn't have someone to operate the system, the system was down or they didn't know how to complete the transaction or a refund. On 8/25 I had time and decided to give this another shot, I called the Walmart store to confirm that the money services system was online, nobody answered the customer service line ( no surprise) so I decided to connect to the Vision department and ask them if they could go ask Customer Service if the money system was online, Vision was super helpful and told me they confirmed it was up and running. So I went to the store and once again requested the money back, I got the same story, they couldn't do it, so I called RIA from my cell phone from the Customer Service Desk at Walmart and the girls working at the front desk could hear the RIA representative say they could do the transaction, this is where the Walmart girls both got super rude and refused to call a Manager for me, I had to knock on the door of security and ask them to call a Manager, then someone named Courtney came, she said she was the Manager however I can't imagine she was because she was not helpful and told me to come back tomorrow even though she heard the RIA rep tell her that they just had to give me the money as though I was the recipient not the sender, I left the store and called Walmart corporate and filed a complaint, I asked corporate if they would stay on the phone with me so I could make another attempt to get my money, he told me to ask for a "salary Manager" , I went back into the store and had the Corporate Walmart employee ask the rude front desk girl for a manager, at this point a manager came out and finalized the transaction for me, she was the saving grace of this disaster. Two hours of my life I won't get back, trying to get MY money. The lack of training at the Danvers store is tragic, your people lack basic customer service skills, they are beyond rude, it's a shame. You need to do better Walmart, Target is down the street and their employees do NOT behave this way. read more

The store has many items at affordable prices but they, like everyone else, are subject to the same market pressures such as empty shelves due to product unavailability, and labor shortages which forces them to hire eager, industrious people who have the shortfall of not having the ability to speak and understand English. read more

You'd be lucky to find an employee that speaks English, and most of them are so rude. They're very understaffed and their inventory sucks because I have to use the app to find the stuff I'm looking for (since there's no help), and it's always out of stock yet online says they have it in the isle. They only have 1-2 registers opened so the entire store staggers over 4 self checkouts while 3-4 employees stand at the door to check your receipt... A separate time I had trouble finding an employee, nevertheless one that spoke English, and when I did, he gave me an attitude saying it wasn't his department and then basically saying I was blind as if I should know where the product is. I start by saying its not a one star business based on what happened in the following transaction, but in order to place a post, one star had to be selected. The online service is actually zero stars: I live 2000 feet away from Walmart and shop there all the time with great satisfaction. I have also ordered in the past on line. My daughter recently moved from Massachusetts to Ohio and on the move her TV was damaged. I went on Walmart on line account, picked out a TV for her, filled in her new address and paid almost $500 for the TV to be delivered. My credit card was charged and I completed the transaction. I got confirmation from Walmart. Just over 10 minutes later I get a series of emails from Walmart cancelling the transaction, alleging fraud, and final stick in the eye, my funds I paid for from my credit card would be released 10 days later. Are you kidding me. Long time on line account holder, no TV and money frozen `10 days. Will never use on-line service again and now changing my in person shopping to Target which is right across the street also. I cannot begin to express my gratitude to the Danvers manager Samantha and her two customer service reps, Arlin and Isaiah!! They do not get the credit they deserve for the work they do. I lost my wallet in the store, I went to the service desk where Isaiah and Arlin patiently dealt with me in complete panic mode... and went to get the manager Samantha who literally went ABOVE and BEYOND! I was clearly absent minded and put my wallet down somehow... Samantha went back to retrace steps with me, because I only went to one area in a short time... I retraced my step previously but was so panicked, it wasn't helpful. With Samantha's calm and helpful manner, she found it!!!!!!!! This happy ending doesn't happen all the time. I am so incredibly grateful for the three of them who were able to see my panic and remain calm and so helpful! It didn't end there, I needed to go back and thank each one of them personally. I cannot begin to express how appreciative I am to all three for their actions today.. all of them were my hero's.. Samantha, I hope you come across this review and know how incredible you were with me today and how much I value what compassion you had! Every time I used the self check out there is a problem is one lady with short blonde hair....... Always gives me a hard time excuses me of stealing had security check one time to prove her wrong. Another time she came up to me to check to see if I was ringing in the items because the underwear was marked one price then rang up another said I was being sneaky. Then yesterday brought my puppy in my fault did not know she had to be on a leash and on the floor so she yelled at me twice. 12:35 she ignored me over and over my vacuum would not ring in said I had to go to customer service to ring it in (wrong she just wanted to be a rude bitch) I called the manger over to ring it in. Lady working self check out sat there and made rude comments manger allowed it and said nothing back. She needs to find a new job she is miserable and treat your guest wrong. read more

This is a pretty good Walmart overall. The low rating is attributed to an experience I had here today that left me feeling horrible. I worked in retail for eight years, five of them spent at Walmart. I served primarily as a cashier and service desk associate. I have done the Walmart cheer (kill me). I have spent hours listening to mind-numbing CBLs ("computer-based learning" modules) through impossibly cheap, falling-apart headphones. I have been hit on and cursed out. Thankfully the former more than the latter, but sometimes you wish for the latter. Straight out of the "People of Walmart" vault, a lady shat herself in the soup aisle and CONTINUED SHOPPING, eventually checking out in my lane with stuff dripping down her legs. (Truth be told, walking into the store restroom was often just as bad). But despite the requisite craziness of America's largest purveyor of groceries, hair curlers, and ammo, I often enjoyed my job, and I took excellent care of my customers. It only felt right to extend the utmost compassion to my more vulnerable customers, including the lady in the compromising situation described above. I paid no mind to the embarrassing event and proceeded with small talk as I would with any other customer. If I thought a wire transfer was suspicious, I asked questions to make sure the customer wasn't getting scammed. While promoting the Walmart app, I dished out sweet treats - and secured a whole box of cupcakes for a homeless man. I went out of my way to help customers find items - always walking them to the items and chit-chatting along the way. I wasn't just nice - I also did my job well. Scanning everything accurately, bagging everything carefully, and making sure customers know they're getting the right amount back during a return. At the Service Desk, I saw my fair share of shady characters. And yes, it can be upsetting when you think someone is scamming your store, as shrinkage cuts into bonuses. But I learned that if you have suspicion, you discreetly call a manager and ask for assistance. Until then, keep your eye on the customer, of if they're near you, engage in polite conversation to show you're aware of them. Never accuse a customer, directly or indirectly! Civility is essential, especially because you never know if your suspicions are correct. Common sense, right? Well, not for everyone. This evening, I spotted a gorgeous blouse, but they were out of my size. I asked the (very kind and professional) Fitting Room associate about whether I could order a different size at the Pickup counter. She responded that the Customer Service Desk would actually be the better place for this request. So off I went! I was standing in line at Customer Service, blouse in hand, when Miss Yellow Vest (no shade - I wore those blindingly yellow vests too!) came up to me with a HIGHLY disapproving look on her face. "Can I help you?" she asked incredulously. Confused, I just looked at her for a moment. "Are you returning something?" she continued, wide-eyed. "I'm ordering a different size," I responded. She continued to stare me down, so I said, louder, "Am I not allowed to??" She stared at me, ever disapproving, but said no more. You know those split-second moments that make your head swirl with a million thoughts at once? This was one of those moments - and at the center of it all, one overriding thought: "I work so damn hard for my money." Walmart Danvers, this was only my second time visiting you and I didn't realize how DAMN FAR AWAY FROM THE REGISTERS your customer service desk is. It's weird. But it shouldn't be inaccessible whilst shopping. Your store is laid out stupidly, but customers should not bear the burden of your dubious design. Don't low-key accuse customers of being thieves when they're STANDING IN LINE AT CUSTOMER SERVICE. (Is that how a thief would act)? /Facepalm. For the record: During my first visit to your store, I had a nice conversation with your stockman (that's Walmart for "cart pusher," not someone who stocks - weird, I know). He was the sweetest guy, and we talked about how people never put their carts back (this is my biggest pet peeve, tied with drivers who can't understand "Slower traffic keep right"). So after he went into the store, I walked around the parking lot for a solid ten minutes and gathered up probably twenty carts. They say no good deed ever goes unpunished! But hey, when I called to complain, the person on the phone was extremely nice. And so were plenty of other associates I encountered. In particular, the lady at the Pickup counter (when I finally ordered the blouse) was exceedingly friendly and helpful. So...I'll be back to pick up my blouse...and a water bottle...and probably some snacks. Damn it, I feel like Randy in that South Park episode "Something Wall-Mart This Way Comes." Purchased a mountain bike online. It listed as available at the danvers mass store. So I was supposed to get a call later that day for pick up. No call so I called the store and after getting transferred from department to department I was told no one had a clue about my bike that I already paid for. Shortly there after I received an email from wall mart stating there was a mistake and that there will be a delay on delivery. Ok . While on the hunt for a birthday present we stopped at this Walmart location to look. When we pulled into the parking lot the place was packed but finding a spot was fairly easy. The site itself was well organized and the toy section here has a great selection. This store also had a great variety of seasonal items which was nice. The only real issue we had was that their check out lines were bad and the cashier we had was not polite or even interested in all with helping us. That being said, the experience was decent and this is one of my favorite Walmart stores to shop at in the area. read more

Tried the Walmart order on line and pick up at store option where they bring packages to your car. Great idea, right? I will never use it again. Ordered and was notified that my order was ready. Followed the direction to notify them when I was leaving home then parked in a pick up space. Tried to use the app to say I was there, but the space numbering system on the app doesn't match what's in the lot. App offers choices 1-5. I was in space 7. Called the posted number and was told my order would be brought to me 'shortly'. Waited 20 min. Called again and left on hold for 10 min. Called again. Told they had misplaced part of my order. Gave up and came back next day. Pulled into parking space and called number. Called 4 times. Got voicemail saying they were closed last Thursday and I should call 1800WALMART. Went into the store. Greeter couldn't tell me where to go. Found the unmarked pickup area in the back of the store. Nice young man found my order but seemed surprised that I needed a bag to carry my 7 items. So, that's 2 trips to the store, 7 phone calls and had to go into the store to pick up my order. How is this a convenience? Never again. read more

The place looks like a tornado went through with merchandise everywhere except on the shelves and racks where it belongs. I went to the Walmart hoping to find a garage shelf I saw on the website for an organization project. The people here were BEYOND helpful. I found what I was looking for on display, and Diana, a lovely assistant manager helped me think through the right spray paint, got excited about my project, and even called a helper to grab the heavy shelving package to bring to the cash register for me. We realized it wasn't the right one and that they didn't have what I wanted in stock, and she was quick to help with other options. Thank you Diana! As far as Walmarts go avoid this place like the plague. Another overcrowded store & parking lot. Store is not big enough for the area it's serving. It's always packed wall to wall people. You never have a minute to look at something before someone is bumping into you trying to be just where you are. The best feature or one would think would be site to store...you'd think they would have pick up at the front of the store but no they make you go to the back of the store. Not sure if all Walmart's do this or not but it's pretty stupid. They should have a designated line at the customer service desk just for site to store in the front. Most likely the people purchasing site to store do not want to come into the store anyway they just wanna make a fast exit. It just makes sense. Now I go to wallyworld like the rest of us because of the great prices and shit that you need that's super cheap but give it an update man. This place is ugly and the employees could not be less helpful. However, Wal-Mart is one of very few companies that actually cares about the consumer. Prices are ridiculously low and only the big bulk stores can compete (BJ's, Costco, Sam's, etc.). This is one of the worst Wal-Mart's I've been to, but I just don't care. First of all, who designed the layout of these places? Not just the Danvers one but all of them. I feel like I'm in a giant hedge maze. I'm pretty sure there's stuff in the middle of the store that I just can't find but I really need to get out of here. If I have to go there, I'll get there 5 minutes before it opens and bolt inside hoping I won't get lost in the maze, grab what I need and bolt outside. It's like drive-by shopping. One thing I have noticed is that if you dig enough you'll find shit that's different prices than what it should be. It's like the night guy is saying to himself ,"OK, I'm going to price these t-shirts at $1.98 instead of $3.98 and we'll see who notices." 06/2013 I like Maria at Customer Service; she is about the only good asset there. Did a return in the Jewerly Dept and the Manager gave me a hard time. Really!!!! This Wal-Mart USED to smell like a pack of animals urinated as you walked in and it was utterly disgusting. People in this area have a few Wal-Mart's to choose from: Danvers, Lynn and Saugus. Although this store doesn't have the size of the Saugus store they have remodeled to make the space more usable and sensible. I consider Wal-Mart a good option for toiletries and other Heath and Beauty products. Not makeup a but the other stuff. Very good also for holiday candy as they go to 50% off the day after where a store like Target I believe goes in smaller increments. This Wal-Mart like so many others has a Subway inside which I understand if you are shopping and hungry but I don't understand dealing with the parking lot to go inside the store to get my lunch.
