I don't like the lack of help. The self checkout is scary. I haven't checked heard that people are getting arrested after using the self checkout. I wouldn't say the employees are horrible just the way this Walmart is ran and operated. Every time I have placed an online pickup order it has never been ready on time, after ordering it atleast a day in advance. Then when you call the Walmart there is no one to talk to but one person that does not know what's going on. Placed on hold for 30 min with no answer. Bad customer service. Very bad. I would love to run this Walmart and turn it upside down for the better. read more

So I went back to this place today, to get some plastic party-favor type rings (long story), which I knew were available because I'd previously bought them at this location. I figured that I might as well pick up some milk also, but I was again thwarted. How crazy is it that this place does not carry 1% milk at all? "Vitamin D," 2%, and "0%" (which, isn't that usually called "skim" anyway?) were all in evidence, but no 1%. Doesn't this store (and don't its customers) know that 2% milk is a racket? Sigh. So much for convenience-type purchases. read more

Employee turnover is very fast don't get used to any friendly employees they'll be gone in a week or 2. Still has the cash registers next to exit where the carts are place in cart holder very crowded exit. ATM's and resume machine are always broke. Management is nowhere to be seen . Store is very crammed in and aisles have items strewn about. Bathrooms are still in the back behind wall of electronics and always filthy. Parking lot is very cluttered and the markings have worn away: the pavement is broke and full of potholes. The inventory is very generic. read more

Waited in line behind ONE person. No employee thought I should know that they were having computer problems, wasn't even acknowledged until the customer herself finally told me. So I go to another line and continue to wait behind all the people that came up long after me. Meanwhile they finally get the other register working and again more customers that came up behind me went ahead. And what makes it worse is while waiting in line I'm trying keep calm my 3 year old who is upset because he had an accident and is uncomfortable and cold because he was all wet. (We stopped literally just to get a change of clothes) and it ended up taking about 15 minutes just to get through the line on an average weekday. Won't Be stopping here again. read more

Wish this was a Super Walmart. I stopped in there after they did their "remodel" and thought it was silly of them to have gone to all the expense to remodel, when they should have just built a SuperWalmart. You always have to wait in line and the parking lot always looks busy, so it seems like the town would be big enough to "qualify" for a Super store w/all the traffic that goes through there from Austin to Houston, especially being right on 290. read more

Remember how Wal-Marts were back before they were all SUPERCENTERS? This is one of the few left. Stop by and see it. Also, pick up some six-packs of Imperial Sugar Dr Pepper. They're on the big soda wall behind the registers. Trust me on this. Figure on this-- I've been to the Austin Wal-Mart maybe twice in the last six months. I stop at the Giddings Wal-Mart every single time I've driven past it, probably ten times by now.... and I live an hour and a half away. read more

I went to the Giddings, TX automotive service for an oil change. I was told the price for synthetic oil would be $49.99 and I said fine. I started shopping then about 5-10 minutes later they called me to the back and tole me that they ran out of my oil and would charge me an extra $20-$25 for labor because they would have to pull that oil off the shelves. I asked if I could buy it and bring it back and he said they would still have to charge that. The Assistant Manager came by so I asked why I would be charged an extra $20-$25 when Walmart ran out of the oil. He agreed but then was told by the cashier guy that the Manager, Karen, was the one who said to charge me that and kept telling me it was Walmart policy. I was willing to pay any price difference in oil but the cashier guy said it would be the same oil, they charge would be for additional labor. What the heck? Needless to say, I left and Walmart lost a customer. Not that I went there too often to affect them but they still lost the little I did shop for. UPDATE 1/14/19: Update: The Manager called the next business day and indicated there was a misunderstanding between what was said and what she said to her employee and what her employee understood and indicated that I would not be charged the additional $20 - $25, I had already taken my car elsewhere but I did appreciate the call back and the clarification, as such I've changed my rating from 1 start to 3 stars for the effort. read more

I brought my grandma grocery shopping & she is an older lady & had a basket trying to get back were the sheets & bedding were located. & an associate, Coty stood in the middle of the aisle to where my grandma couldn't get by with her basket & didn't move until I had to say something for my 80+ grandma to get by. that's just terrible how rude he was. read more

My husband just returned from the Giddings Wal Mart, extremely upset by a very, very rude cashier. When he asked for a store manager, the person who came to address the issue was of no help whatsoever. Giddings Wal Mart has the most rude, disrespectful and unhelpful cashiers in all the Wal Marts I have ever been in. So much for the customer is always right, and at Wal Mart your always welcomed, and customer satisfaction! HEB and Target are looking better all the time!!! read more

I went to purchase a lifeproof phone case for $85. When I got home I noticed the case had been used. If I'm paying $85 I want a new product. I can't believe they would put a used product back on the shelf. I'm not very happy with this store. I would give it no stars but that's not an option.
