This Walmart was cool. No fresh produce or meat, which was something i wasn't used to. But, it is a nice size. They have everything else it seemed. if I could put -10 stars, I would and on the way out leaving a review for their website each around me on my way out the door agreed nobody at the Pittsfield location wants to help you they lock everything up and then expect you to read the box and do not even go over and help you today, Thursday, October 30. The man at the electronic shop is unprofessional . purposely went over to try to get help and she was mistreated. It took a lot to walk away, but we put a whole cart worth of household goods groceries and we working on electronics for our at school and needed noise with a that works there and I will say everyone does not help you a couple of them know how to smile or say sorry but nobody wants to work or help. Walmart makes way too much money and they don't care now. I have to travel three towns over to North Adams honestly just for the headphones we have already decided to go to target for the remainder stuff to avoid too much money being spent to try to make a point this needs to stop Pittsfield needs corporate to come in and fix stuff but again if they're making the money, this review will probably be ignored. This won't be the last I will be advocating for everyone to leave reviews of their horrible experience at the I'm 39 years a senior citizen trying to get something which five of them on my way out that had those electronic carts said it was hard enough for them to get the cart let alone to get help with items and it forces them to come back to return stuff with the schedule that they have in the ability to be able to travel back-and-forth. I had an urgent call to Walmart. I was there last Thursday and when I got home I was missing $40 from the young self service and I made an urgent call. I was not able to get a hold of anybody nobody on any of the extensions I have to make another trip into Walmart and I explained what happened. Every since walmart came to town years ago I would go because at the time there wasn't anything else like it in pittsfield. Now with Target being at the Berkshire Mall for the past few years walmart took a hit because of it. Overall this place is a step up from what it once was. I remember going when I was longer seeing this place in a horrible condition. Floors would be dirty and chemicals from soup and liquid would be in the aisles and wouldn't be attended too. The store...and even the people working/shopping looked like a mess. I will say within the past 5 years walmart did clean it up and it does look nicer. Not as nice as the new redesigned new logo out there but the generation 2, so it is a step up from what it was but nothing more. When all said and done, it is a walmart. You can expect the same here as in any really. Although I tend to go to Target more, walmart still has better deals sometimes. read more

Terrible management treatment at the Pittsfield store.I had purchased my items and looked in my bag before exiting store.The box of an item i had purchased looked like it had been tampered with.After examination I became aware that box was empty.I approached the service desk ,explained the situation and was told James would handle it.After waiting 20 minutes I asked employee in area to please tell James that I cant wait any longer.At this point James appears and states that he looked at store tape and box was intact when i purchased it.I asked him what he was implying as i had just made this purchase and had my slip to prove this.I had not even exited the store.I told James i would like a replacement or refund for an empty box that cost me 39.99.James told me to leave the store or he would call police.I told him to call police as i was not leaving until this was resolved.The police arrived and viewed store tape.They told James to give me my money back. At this point I was handed a no trespass order which meant I could not enter Walmart.This is the type of manager Walmart employs! I did absolutely nothing wrong but made the mistake of shopping here! I was in the Pittsfield walmart yesterday(Sat) and it was crowded. I gave myself 30 min to go through the register since the lines were into the womans clothing. I got yelled at for not realizing where the end of the lines were. When I got to the register the man in front of me forgot his card so his order got suspended while he went to his car. The clerk sprayed the belt and wiped it down then turned away so I put my stuff on the belt. She rudely told me to put the stuff back in the cart so she could wipe the belt. I said I just watched you wipe the belt, and she said well I wasn't finished. So I complied but was irritated because she was ready to lose it and I felt it was unnecessary to wipe it again. I'm not returning to this store. Clerks are very rude and too afraid to be working. No one needs this drama right now. read more

I found this Walmart to be very clean and well organized. They are very safety conscious during the COVID era with clean up between every customer at checkout, distancing, mask compliance, etc. Supplies were well stocked. There is expected line at checkout but no more than expected for a very busy Walmart. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Home Depot is right next door. read more

My wife and I adopted a local family for Christmas and all 6 kids needed bikes. I made this mistake of buying some of those bikes from Walmart. One bike I ordered online I had to drive to a Walmart an hour away to pick up. I tried to put it together last night and it was missing a piece. So I returned it to this Walmart today. I wanted to exchange it for the same bike but they didn't have it in green like I had bought. But they did have it in red. So I said I would take it in red. They told me that I had bought it on sale and the color change means it's a different item all together and that I would have to pay the considerable difference. It's the same bike just a different color. The manager on duty refused to swap them. The man wouldn't even search to see if they had the right color in a different store. So I had to pay almost twice what I paid for a new bike. The customer service was the worst I have seen in a long time. read more

This place sucks. I went in at 7:20 am to return something. There was one person ahead of me in line and this person was getting 125 gift cards all individual so they had to be put in individually and scanned individually. There was another associate behind the counter that refused to wait on me and just walked away. After about 10 minutes a line started forming and finally someone behind me asked if somebody else can help us and the associate that was scanning the gift cards said no only I can help. That was it , I stormed out of there and never did my return. Like I said this place sucks read more

I'm always treated well here. The management is pretty good with other staff as well. Doris, is a very competent, responsible, and easy to talk to manager. tire center sucks - the old man working at the desk is rude, and slow. on top of that we were there to buy and have tires put on, and then due to a "gas" smell they refused to work on our rig, bought the tires and decided to go elsewhere to have them put on, as they were figuring out how to load the tires, same guy who says we have a gas leak and refused to put the tires on lights up a cigarette..........are you fking serious??? if you cant work on the rig due to a suppose gas smell/leak why the fk would you light up a cig ??? all around a shit show..........took a chance to come here, will NEVER come back. and will not recommend anyone to go there. read more

Hate this place. I hate the fact that they push out local merchants. I hate that they wreck the countryside with their big ugly boxy stores. I hate the crazy layout, the inferior product and the goofy parking lot. Do I go there? Yeah, because they've pretty much fixed it so there's no place else to shop. Then I can't get out fast enough because there's never enough registers open. The celebrated greeter seldom greets, but you're certainly spoken to by the guy at the exit -the one making sure you're not stealing any of their fabulous product. Can I give zero stars? Real STANDARD Wal-mart here guys. This is not one of the new walmarts with the new design for their logo to make you forget who they really are. Do i go here often, yeah... do I think its something to brag about... no. Obviously the reason we as a nation go to Walmart is because we're poorer than we realize we really are, but... anyways, this walmart is no different than your usual Walmart although you can find a higher incidence of derelicts here than you can at the mall, but obviously less than the North Adams location. read more

The last time I went to this Walmart was early in December 2009. I parked in the back lot that nobody ever parks in so that nobody would park next to me and ding my doors, 2 or 3 spaces parallel to a Porsche which was the only other car in the lot. As I'm walking to the store from my car, some typical Walmart trash in a pickup truck whopulls into that lot, starts doing donuts, loses control and crashes into the side of the Porsche, nearly pushing it right into my car. That should have been a sign to just leave, but I really needed to get my kids some Christmas gifts... So I walk in the store, and everything on the shelves are out of place. It didn't matter what department I was in, it was really hard to find anything on the shelves that matched the label. There were some toys that I would have bought if they had them, but the shelves were empty. I ended up finding several of the same toys later on laying on the floor and left there in the clothing department, but by this point I was so discouraged I did not feel like waiting in line. I'm not a biggest fan of Walmart in general -- their clothing line is the cheapest you can buy and usually survives a handful of washes at the most and I don't like shopping at stores that can afford to pay their employees a living wage and still make a large profit but won't, but this store is a mess. From their parking lot, which is easily the worst designed parking lot I have ever seen to their disorderly shelves, if all Walmarts looked like this store, the corporation would not exist by 2020 because no one would ever shop there. read more

This Walmart seems to have lost it's shine. Now with the isles crammed with "clearance" items that mostly seem to be items the store did not want to put back were they belonged. I have fond some good deals there, but again, you have to search to get the best ones. As old as she is she really should have better hygiene and at least know enough to cover her mouth and wash her hands! I left my full basket of items and walked out! The store is very unorganized and messy a lot of the time. It's difficult for me to ever find an associate when I have a question or need assistance unless I go to a completely different department, and then they are completely lost because it's not their department! I was waiting in a check out line that was VERY long just like the other only 2 that were open, and they had the nerve to close the lane I was in. Even knowing they had extremely backed up lines, they still began closing registers. How does that even make sense? The cashier also did not greet me, and argued with her boss right in front of me while I was trying to check out. Very unprofessional to say the least. read more

Terrible! I bought their one last Christmas tree of one type. The box was wrapped with tapes. Their staff told me that the tree doesn't have any problems. It was a returned item. When I got home, my husband told me that he bought one already. I took the tree back to return. I did not accept the return and gave me all kinds of excuses that don't make sense. One of those is that they don't take Christmas trees back, as simple as that. The other one is that the box seems to be opened before because of the tapes. I told them that it was sold to me like this and I never bothered to open the box. They refused to take it back without checking it. read more

This place is still a disaster area even after the efforts to clean it up after the 7/2013 review by Forbes as the worst Walmart store. They had brought in people from far and wide, had the store cleaned and stocked from top to bottom. In a matter of a couple of months the store was falling apart again, with the ever revolving door of managers that didn't know what to do. Today was my last trip there. The place is filthy and in combination with merchandise in carts that block the isles and most of the items not even in stock it's not even worth the trip. Making complaints on line are no use either as it's only forwarded to the stand in manager at the store who seems to only be well trained in lip service. read more

I went to Walmart today on 11/6/13, and the cashier double and triple scanned some of my items. I was overcharged the amount over $11. Our Walmart's local manager refused to refund the costs they owe me. I would recommend a different store, e.g. Target. read more

A typical Wal-Mart, nothing out of the ordinary. I found the staff quite helpful. The other reviewers must be normally shopping at Nordstrom's as their reviews do not coincide with the actual store. I found clean bathrooms, clean aisles organized exactly as what is expected in a variety store. If this was a review of California Wal-Marts that are in complete disarray.... horrible service and bad attitudes then yes, but the Pittsfield Wal-Mart is a great store. read more

The disarray of this store really came to life after reading a recent article in Forbes Magazine. I just had to stop in today to see what the atmosphere of the store was. Store is super messy; never orderly. Prices, of course, are very competitive, but this Walmart is a mess. I walked into the Tire Lube Express (TLE) and it seemed that maybe one employee was near the department. He gave me a look of "I'm too frazzeled to help you" while looking for something, so I walked out. If he had said, "I'll be right with you" or something to that effect, I would have probably had my tire serviced. Oh well. Like the rest of the store, it was a mess.
