On Friday, Dec. 6th. I called Walmart, Pleasanton, CA, to see if they had Mukluks socks. The employee who answered the phone said that they were only a Black Friday item and they had sold out. So I went on line. I was surprised to find that Walmart said that they had a two colors and about 7 in the size that I wanted. So I decided to drive out there and see what they had. I found more than seven XL sizes and in every color. They were behind a big cart that was filled up to the top with items. There was no clerk working on it and I was there for quite a while and no one came. So why was the cart left on the floor? I am doing the crafts for an organization's Christmas Party, so I had lots of items to pick up. One employee pointed to the sports area where there was no employees to be found, however I did find the ping pong balls. Then I needed holiday stickers like what you seal a Christmas envelope with or the end of a Christmas package. I found an employee and called to her several times. She did not hear me and when I was about four feet away, she turned and started to walk away. I caught up with her and ask her where I could find the stickers in the store. She looked at me and said, "Store". I repeated my question and she just said "Store". The third time I asked and she just repeated my last word. Store. Obviously, she did not speak English so I left. I asked one employee if the stickers would be in the stationary. She said, "No". Everything that is for Christmas is in the Garden area. I went there and did not find them. Giving up on the Christmas stickers, I now was trying to find a key ring tag so I could identify which keys fit what locks. I found three employees talking together and went to ask them. Immediately two of them walked away and the third waited to help me. I use key ring tags all the time and showed her one and asked where they were kept. She spoke in Spanish and let me know she did not understand English. Then one of the other employee who had walked away before came back and the first employee asked the second employee to help me. I showed her the key ring tag and asked her where they were. This second employee did not speak English well either. Now the third employee who had left when I originally showed up arrived. She spoke English better than the other two. I showed her the key ring tag and asked her where they were. She looked at her device and said on aisle 39C. I asked where that aisle was and she said, "She said you have to go down there". I looked to see what aisle I was on and I was on aisle 39C. So I left the three employee's and walked down the aisle to find the key ring tags by myself. I looked very well, but there were no key rings on that aisle, just craft items. The employees were still talking when I went back to them and told them I could not find the key tags. The English speaking one, went down the aisle to looked and then looked back at her device. Surprise!! They do not carry them in the store. I can order them on line, and look! She told me they are on sale on line. I was told that is what I had to do. I asked her where the Christmas stickers were kept and she said in the Garden Area. I told her I could not find them and could she take me over and show me where they were? During this conversation another employee came running up and told them they had better stop talking and start working or they would be in trouble. All three ran. I followed the employee who I had asked for help and she was moving so fast that I could hardly keep up with her. She was disappointed when turned around to see I was still there. She was walking towards the Garden Area so I followed her. She went to the window decals and told me this is what I wanted. Stupid me. I found five employees, four who could not speak English and yet they totally understood what the words "They had better stop talking and start working or they would be in trouble". It appears that the customers are the joke of the store and we should all just order on line, because Walmart does not carry any items they advertise on their website. It took almost two hours to buy $40.00 worth of items for the Christmas Party. The cart in front of the socks that had been in my way when I entered the store was still there with no employee around. As I stood in line, I said to myself, this is what I get for coming to Walmart. The woman ahead of me heard me and said, "Yes, I know exactly what you mean." It was much quicker going to a more expensive store and buying the rest of the Christmas items I needed. read more

1 star only because ZERO star is not an option. My s/o & I decided to stop by the nearest Walmart (it was 9pm or so) just to see what they have since we are from out of town & was in the area. (Stores in different locations carry different items) First stop was the restroom after a long drive, disgusting. Worked our way browsing departments with the shopping cart. My s/o browsing different departments from myself. I caught up to my s/o in the last isle of Electronics, I noticed a man in black walking behind me. We happened to make quick eye contact with each other, it was as obvious as could be he's LP. SMH. I decided to go look at housewares while my s/o was browsing so clearance items. As I walked towards housewares, I noticed another guy in black walking right past me staring right at me. Yes, another obvious one. SMH. We eventually made our way towards the garden area which was closed. My s/o likes to garden so we usually always check out the garden area. As I turned around to ask my s/o if he needed anything from the garden area, I see the same guy (1st LP) walk right pass me looking straight at us again, & walked straight into the garden area, looked around & the out the garden area exit door. SMH he probably assume we might dip out through the garden area? He probably thought he was sneaky. Yes, im sure he was doing his job but seriously? We knew but act as if we didn't notice, we are not stupid. I was pretty dumbfounded & disappointed to be followed & watched like a thief. I'd say there were a few other customers in there I would've been watching instead if I was LP. Maybe worry more about the cleanliness of your restrooms & store instead of obviously following hard working Asian individuals like we are too broke to afford shit. We are hard working individuals & are not stupid enough to steal $80 worth of items especially from Walmart. We would not return again to shop nor recommend this location. read more

Went to Walmart in pleasanton. No sign saying they will not return certain items until you go to the return dept. Bought clothing no posted signs stating no returns. Paid and no sign at cask register either. Itens didn't fit and could try them on because fitting room closed. Went to return with receipt the next day. Refuse and pointed to the sign in return dept. So, it's 8:31 AM and the store reportedly opened up at 7:00 AM. With the exception of the self checkout lanes, only ONE register is open and the cashier states that she can only accept cards or exact cash/change because her register doesn't have any cash. What the heck?! I needed cash back! Then, I grabbed a couple of discounted Christmas items which were 75% off. For some reason, they were ringing up as $1.75 although they were originally $2.00. Clearly, they need to hire people who KNOW how to do simple math! After the cashier asked one of their colleagues (obviously doubting my elementary math skills), they were told to give them to me for $0.50. Unfortunately, the cashier was ill-equipped to handle such a task and was unable to override the price. The cashier had to end up asking someone else to complete my transaction, which caused me to wait. Finally, I got too impatient to continue waiting and left without making that purchase. read more

Just tried to return defective solar lights with receipt 3 weeks ago. They have never worked, despite putting in direct sunlight. The customer service agent said it was my responsibility to come up with a bar code. I recall when I bought them, they were the last ones. Furthermore, I don't think it should be a customer's responsibility to identify a bar code. She went and got customer service manager who has told me I have to track down bar code before they can give me back the cash I paid for these defective lights. I think this Walmart has the best customer service I've ever experienced at a Walmart store, hands down! My friend and I went and purchased THREE 65 inch TVs. At other Walmarts in my area, I've had to literally BEG the employees to help me. Whether it be to retrieve something from the back, or pick up a huge heavy bag of soil into my cart, or load heavy things in, but not here! We let the employees know that we wanted to buy the TVs and right away they began figuring out how they would help us get them to the car! (We didn't even have to beg) After we purchased, they rolled them on over to our truck and even helped us load them in! I'm literally so impressed. My faith is finally somewhat restored in Walmart! lol read more

I came in this store to return an online purchase. Apparently their system was down and wasn't processing returns correctly. Rather than clearly and politely explain this to me (it took 15 min and three sales people to clearly communicate this), they were extremely rude, kept cutting me off while I was trying to ask questions, never apologized, and in fact, never greeted me, and just told me to go to a different store. I did finally get answers but not after being treated more disrespectfully than I ever have by a customer service person in my life. This includes the "manager". I will likely never shop at a Walmart again, much less this location. read more

Okay so let's be real I have had the good, the bad and the ugly experience at Walmart in Pleasanton. Having said that this last visit was different a be a breath of fresh air. Went in on Monday at the Auto service center at closing was given the Audi 5 response. So I went asked the mgr in charge Alan K. and was waiting for a NO (given he looked like he just worked 24 hours) but, anyways to my surprise what an awesome guy still had the steam to take care of one last demanding customer. So I applaud Alan K. and Bobby not only did they stay later than their closing time but, made sure I was fully happy and double checked the air on my tires and all the fluids. So the next time you are in Walmart or any store and demand things remember one thing they do not need to cater to it but, a little kindness and please still goes a long way. So try that and I guarantee you will be surprised as I was. read more

his incident occurred today on 07/28/20 at 9/20am at Walmart store 4501 Rosewood Dr Pleasanton CA 94588 I approached the cashier "Paula" on the name tag. She was at the 20 item and less counter and said hello. The employee made I contact but never acknowledged me so I said hello again and she completely ignored me and began ringing up the items. I know she clearly heard me as she looked at me when I said hello. As she was ringing up the items, she asked me very loudly if I needed a bag. Still giving her the benefit of the doubt I said yes and after she rang up the items told me to slide the card without even giving me the amount that I owed. I slide my debit card and it asked if I wanted cash back and I kept on hitting no and the screen remained the same. I asked her if it was a issue with the machine and she didn't say a word so I tabbed the screen again and she began yelling at me to use the "pen". Guaranteed with these masks it's hard to understand some people and all it could have taken was two seconds to speak professionally and in a quiet manner instead of yelling at me like I was a 10 year old kid. As soon as I asked for the manager she became more upset and told me she didn't have a phone to contact the manager. When I asked her if there was any other way to find a manager her words were "how am I suppose to know". I have been to this store numerous occasions and this is my first bad experience and i have never seen a representative who acts in this manner or yells at customers and gets more upset when asked to get a manager. If she doesn't like assisting customers and discriminates against customers of colored skin then maybe she shouldn't be working at the store and if Walmart is ok with her behavior then maybe let your customers know so we can go elsewhere. I didn't know that this store has a history of discriminating against people of color until I saw the other reviews posted here. It's shocking that Walmart has not DONE ANYTHING to make changes or reprimand it's racist employees. I had been on such a great streak of not going to Walmart since moving to California. There was one trip to a Neighborhood Walmart that was horrible, so I really had no interest. But I needed to get a card for a coworkers birthday, and it is across the street from where I work. I was acknowledged by two people: the greeter, and the Xfinity guy. I used to love Walmart. But now I am pissed. My mother pays cashier $20 cash for a $6 item. You'd expect about 13 back right? Cashier hands her 3+ back. Mom says hey I gave you a twenty! Cashier says no you gave me $10. Customer Service Manager comes over to intervene. What does she do? Instead of resolving the issue with both parties present and checking the cashier's pockets, she sends the cashier off to a break! The manager argues with us that we can't prove that she took the $20. Of course not, you just sent her on a break! So then the manager says take your change which was 41 cents. Wait a minute. What happened to the $3.41 change earlier?! Manager says "you must have pocketed the $3." My mom flips out all her pockets and purse. No 1 dollar bills in sight. Wow. So we left in disgust. I've been to plenty of Walmart's in the bay area. This one can suck my proverbial dick. I went shopping with my mom. There were multiple sales racks. My mom pointed out 2 employees were following us and after trying my best to give them the benefit of the doubt, they totally were. Once we got to the cashier, one of them ran over from the women's department, whispered something to her. When I asked what the problem was, I was ignored. She only stated, "That was the manager". I asked her again and she ignored me. The cashier then started suspiciously looking at all the clothes that were on sale. She literally picked at the sales stickers with her nails to see if they were really put there by a price gun. I kept asking her what she was doing and why. I even told her she could have an employee go to the sales rack and find the TONS more of the exact same clothes I had on the rack. She kept ignoring me. She just was kind of red. She even held up a hanger with 2 sports bras and said, "Why are there two bras on here? Did you put them on here?!".... It was a 2 pack. There was a huge emblem that said "2 pack value". SCREW YOU. When I told a different manager about this she told me not to "take it personal". I told her that's extremely offensive and hell yes it's personal. We were the only 2 brown people shopping the racks and we were the only ones followed and treated in such an awful manner. EAT ME. You aren't getting a dime from me anymore. Good place to get Mobil1 15w-50 non-energy-conserving oil for your bike in a 5-quart jug. Because if you own a bike, you know how expensive those oil changes can get. I got the filter at Godspeed in Oakland, so I got my "support your local small business" on, but I have never run motorcycle-specific oil - always Mobil1 15w-50 non-SJ/CF in it, and at 20k miles, it's still happy. I was out here visiting my engine builder (for my old Mustang, another story) and had some time to kill before traffic died down, and someone on an online forum mentioned the low price of their "jug o' oil" so I stopped by. I've seen the movie about Wal-Mart, I know how they suck local economies dry, ruin downtowns, suggest that workers go on welfare, and do more to monitor workers than prevent crime in their parking lots, but I succumbed to Wally World this one time. Here is an experience with the Pleasanton Walmart Customer Service Center that I can't easily explain. I had four DVD players that I found out were defective. The DVD players overheat and can burn down your house or wherever you happen to be. Walmart exclusively distributed the DVD players. Walmart decided to issue a recall on all of these particular model players. On the Walmart website, Walmart encourages anyone with one of these players to bring it back for a full refund. The recall was issued in September 09. So, I dutifully, and tardily, brought my players to this Walmart for a refund. The nice girl at the customer service register tried to help me, but she could not find something in the computer that would let her refund. So, she called the assistant store manager. The assistant store manager came by and poked around on the computer and eventually said, "Sorry, we can't give you a refund." I replied, "Why?" She said, "because the recall period is over." Now, I happen to know of someone that returned one of these players to a different store for cash two weeks earlier. I mentioned this and she said, "Let me get the store manager." So, off she went to get the store manager. I, literally, stood and waited for twenty minutes before the store manager came over. When she did, she went to work looking at her computer to see what was going on with the players. She, also, said that she could not give me a refund because the recall period was over. I thought that was a big baloney sandwich. I quickly looked over her screen and found some important info. I pointed out that her Walmart monitor clearly stated that "A full refund will be given regardless of when the recall was announced." That seemed pretty clear to me. Unbelievably, she was unmoved. She finally said that she would go talk with a co-worker about the matter but she was sure that she was not going to give me a refund. Several minutes later she returned. She said that "Just this one time" she would refund the players. Well, hallelujah! We went through a bunch of paperwork and they finally produced a gift card for me. "Wha?" how about cash? But, by this time I was at my threshold for consecutive minutes spent inside a Walmart, so, I took the card and moved on with my life. I came here after work today to buy Spaghetti sauce. Just a simple jar of spaghetti sauce and I still had a somewhat bad experience. The store was clean, the cashier, Lisa, was great. The manager is who rubbed me the wrong way. I picked up my spaghetti sauce, went over to Lisa and paid. I paid cash and when she opened the drawer to give me my change the entire drawer was empty. I was a little dumbfounded because I have NEVER seen anything like that. It was very strange indeed. Lisa was both shocked and embarrassed. She apologized and walked away to go get change. I waited for a few minutes, then the manager came over. He started questioning me about what was going on with the register. The attitude this guy had I didn't appreciate. Very accusing sounding. Lisa came back and explained the situation to him, and he voided out the transaction and took me to another register. The woman behind me had to do the same, with everything she just put down on the conveyor belt. Not cool. I saw the manager once again, arguing with a customer at the entrance. This guy really needs to work on his communication skills. You can't talk to your employees like that, and especially your customers. I don't know his name because he didn't have a badge on, but he made me not want to come back to this Walmart. read more

This review is for the optical segment of Walmart. A couple of days ago I got a really bad eye infection in both my eyes. Yikes! So I set an appointment with Dr Hung & was seen that day. He was very caring with my eyes & Said it had a lot to do with my contacts irritating my eyes /: so he said I should leave my contacts out for a few days. Seeing that I am virtually BLIND without my contacts I needed to order glasses. When they told us it might take up to 10 days to arrive, I was in sheer panic. I cant see my hand in front of my face, how am I supposed to go to work like this?? After seeing how distraught I was about it, the guy who is part of the glasses lab (Chris? I think) said he would put a rush on it. My glasses came in 2 days later :D Walmart optical to the rescue. I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THEIR OPTICAL OFFICE!! Everybody is so nice & considerate. I can't think of a place I'd rather be LESS on the last shopping weekend before Christmas than Wal-Mart. But sometimes you sell your soul and last vestiges of free time to the devil and go off in search of cheap bikes. Now, my standard frame of reference for Wal-Mart is the one on Hegenberger in Oakland (holla!), so imagine my surprise when the Pleasanton Wal-Mart was tidy, well-stocked, and peopled with friendly and helpful employees. There was plenty of parking, my fellow shoppers were entirely civilized, and we were able to make our purchases (sadly, the bikes were sold out) and be on our way in a reasonable amount of time. Either my soul was worth more than I thought, or I'm better at haggling with the devil than I anticipated. read more

It's a walmart - enough said. You get exactly what to expect. Showed up on Sunday for an oil change at 8 am. I was third in line and thought i'd be in an out quickly. However, it didn't really turned out that way. First off for whatever reason, they only called in one person to work the oil lube area. Apparently they needed 2 techs. So we were all told it'd take about 3 hours to get our cars down. Mind you I was #3 in line. Luckily, they called a tech to come to help. So the wait was shorter. Then a little over an hour I saw my car in the shop. So that looked promising. I went to the lube register to buy some of the stuff i had gotten while waiting and decided to sit by the waiting area for my car to get done. I was online reading a couple of articles when i turned around i noticed that my car was done. I was like sweet, was planning to be here for 2-3 hours and it got done in 1.5 hr. Then that's when the cashier told me that my car wasn't done cause they didn't have the filter...i was like wth? i was sitting right there and you knew i was there. I nice courtesy call or hey your oil change is being cancelled would have been nice...but alas, i just walked out with no oil change and felt like i had wasted my morning.... read more

Let me tell you a secret: I am scared of shopping at stores that's too big and with more than 10 checkout points. I would get lost physically and loosing concentration as well lol...!! I come to Walmart only to pick up some DVD I bought online that provides in store pickup so as to save delivery costs. The area for pickup is located at the back of the store. Initially I got to the wrong area but a friendly employee kindly directed me back on the right track. Once I got to the counter I don't see anyone around and the area looks very much like an employee only area. I see them going in and out through the double doors and the restrooms are there too. I were there for less than a minute when someone walked by who asked if I were helped. I said no so he said he'll go get someone over to help me. After that, more employee walked by asking me the same questions wondering if I were helped! They were so friendly and helpful. I ended up doing a bit of shopping since I had a good experience in the store. Not sure if the products are really cheaper than other stores but I am a happy customer and will come back for more pick up of my DVDs! read more

Though I dislike shopping at Wal-Mart, the one located in Pleasanton makes it more pleasant to buy sundry items than the other locations I have shopped at (San Leandro and Union City). This location also has more parking spaces and it seems that the aisles at this store are wider than the aisles at the other two stores. Moreover, this Wal-Mart seems cleaner and better organized than the other two locations. I would also point out that the cashiers and all store employees are friendlier as well as more helpful than the store employees at the other two locations. read more

Did I really just wait 26 minutes for a person to show up so I could pick up my photos? I asked a group of ladies who weren't even working, but instead talking by the paint center, if they could send someone over and they just told me to wait. Then some other worker called for assistance, but again no one came. I finally found who I believe was the manager who finally helped me out. He looked annoyed. His excuse was there was only one person manning the photo area. Really? I've worked alone in a retail store in a mall before; not attending to your customers (in a small part of the store) is no excuse. Plus department stores like these have over 10 workers at a time. I've never liked this Walmart, and this experience has made me dislike it even more. Did I also mention this place is a complete mess and reeks of a bathroom odor all the time? read more

OK, this quarter thing really bugs me. I went in there again today to buy a few items and as I handed my money to the checker, I asked her if I could get a couple of dollars back in quarters. "Nope, " she said without the slightest hint of remorse or regret, "we don't do that any more." "Do what? Give customers change?" I asked. "Sell quarters. We run out of them." A review for Livermore residents. On occasion we come here because this store is larger than the Livermore site. At times, we need to look for more variety in such things as fabric and clothes. In short, this place isn't worth the trouble making it to. The parking lot is larger than Livermore's but can be dangerous unless you have the wisdom to park far away. This place does have at least one saving grace, no peddlers manning the exits. No, I'm not talking about the Salvation Army bell ringers. I'm speaking about the esoteric charity du jour and newspaper subscription merchants. Save the trees, print is dead. Useless trivia: McDonald's is their vendor of choice. I don't have any thing good to say about this place. Last time I went to the store I noticed a large amount of poop on the toilet and all over the bathroom floor. So I told an employee about it and they said "do I look like a janitor"? Woo hoo Then me and my significant other tried to go in the dressing room to try on some clothes. The black lady said it was against store policy to let us both in the room. As soon as we walked away a black couple asked if they could go in and she said sure no problem. I brought it to the stores attention and posted on the company's facebook page but they never called back and deleted comment off the wall. HORRIBLE.HORRIBLE.HORRIBLE!! there were only two check out lanes open as well as the self check out lanes... BUT way to many customers for JUST two lanes, a 10:1 ratio of not more i will NEVER be back to this location if i can help it.!!! i wouldn't even give you stars if i could read more
