Love this local store since there is plenty of parking. If the immediate lot is full or you want to park away from the crowds, I always head toward the adjoining lot near the furniture store where there is always lots of parking available. TJ's is one of my most favorite places to shop. In addition to the food, I love their plants, beautiful flowers, and greeting cards. They have an abundant assortment of cheeses, meats and snack foods. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful. They will look up an item for you and let you know when it will be restocked or if it is discontinued. I love their Kouign Amann, Chiles Rellenos con Queso, Marzano tomatoes, Saint Andre Triple Crème brie, jalapeno pepper jelly and of course, Hold the Cone ice cream. There is always something new and interesting to try and new seasonal items appear routinely. Most TJs have a parking lot that is always congested but this one isn't too bad. Even though we stopped by 30 minutes before closing, the store was packed with customers. There are plenty of cashiers to get you through the lines quickly and they are super friendly and courteous. And I am always amazed at how well they can pack everything into one bag! read more

I usually shop at the Castro Valley location but after visiting Trader Joe's Pleasanton I'm a fan as a better shopping experience. Not as busy (or maybe I don't go during peak hours) with plenty of parking. I usually buy the basics but great for nuts, produce, eggs, fresh salmon, Furikake Snack Mix, dog treats, frozen almond croissants and other tempting goodies I try to pass on. They have a nice plant selection of tropical and succulents and inexpensive flowers for a gift or yourself. Staff always friendly and efficient. Place clean, organized and well stocked. Trader Jose in Pleasanton is loved on Santa Rita road near by Macy's furniture. There are free parking in front of the store . However , it is usually full and you need to Park a little farther away then walk . They have a new items section that I found very helpful. All the new items are displayed on one tall shelf and it is better than reading the newsletters and look for them in different locations of the store . They sell their sturdy trustable shopping bag for 99 cent . It is large , well made and with pretty graphic designs. I hate to pay to get a paper bag then it torn out after one use or in the middle of walking to my car ! Trader has top quality of Angus beef ( rib eye , sirloin) , organic chicken , salmon and other seafood. It has a huge fresh fruits and vegetables section .Healthy bakery and snacks . It has healthy ingredients and the prices are lower than Whole food . Many products are imported from Europe. It is clean , organized, carry all the food and non food items for daily use . Excellent service and friendly staffs . What else can you ask for ? I vote this as my number one choice of grocery store. read more

Short Story: A nice and convenient Trader Joe's! Long Story: I've been coming to this TJ's and before it's relocation for more than 15 years. The size of the current TJ's is roughly the same as Fremont. The cheese and flower areas seem to be larger but their meat and seafood is smaller (when compared to Fremont). The parking lot is huge even with the other shops such as a CVS, a veterinary, auto shop, RH furniture, dialysis, pet store, and Chinese food. Verdict: I'm going back next weekend! read more

Shout out to Majid! I have chatted with him about TJ products and have also gone through his line a couple of time. I know customers want to just get in and out of the store but I actually enjoy chatting with the cashiers. So Sunday morning, I intentionally went to his line and we chatted about big department store closures. It makes the early Sunday morning shopping a little more enjoyable. They have also started to have gift options in the front such has pet advent calendars! Ample parking as it is part of big shopping complex. Went around 10AM a weekday. Perfect time to go. Found parking right up front, walked in grabbed my hand basket. Shelves were stocked with items. Was able to find everything I needed (and more!). Service was amazing, needed to return an item due to difficulty opening it and the store manager took the return, opened it, and gifted the item to my groceries! AMAZING! This is truly customer service. This literally will be the Trader Joe's I visit when in town. Ambiance is very organized, great layout, easily navigated. read more

11:45 AM: I was happy to do my shopping at this location, and I stepped into the store ready to grab my veggies, only to be met with the most infuriating sight. As I reached for the organic baby spinach, a staff member completely blocked my access without a care in the world. I politely asked for a bag since she was literally putting them up on the shelves, but she flat-out refused, continuing to stock the shelves right in front of me. She rudely said, "No, grab it yourself!" It was beyond belief how rude and disrespectful she was being. Her name is Betty, and she is an absolute nightmare to deal with. I don't normally go to this location due to living next city over but was nearby and decided to pop in rather than trekking to mine in the way home. I've been to this location a few times but haven't for awhile. It feels very cramped and not as much as a variety as the Livermore location, especially in the produce section. 2 carts can't pass around the center displays to get what you need. I found myself backtracking a lot. The checker, like all locations, was friendly, efficient and fast. I think I will stick to my own location in the future unless literally needing one or two items. read more

L O C A T I O N New location as of....it's been a while but it used to be in a very tight space with very little parking. Now it's located in the same plaza as the Restoration Hardware Outlet. So lots of parking but it can also be a little crazy during peak times but still easy to go in and out. I N S I D E It's definitely a larger spot with a better layout. Fruits, veggies, milk products etc are in the front right. Wine, on the left. Shelved items in the middle as well as frozen items. Items can be hit or miss. I went in this time specifically for the Oat milk beverage and they were completely out. It was a barren spot on the shelf. Oh well! Also reminder that there are seasonal items that can go in an instant so if you were eyeing something, you better grab it while you can otherwise it might go viral on TikTok and you're just out of luck. S E R V I C E Never have encountered bad service! They're always so cheery and helpful. Easily paid with Apple Pay on their touchless payment system. O V E R A L L Not too shabby of a Trader Joe's. I usually go to your San Ramon location. Tonight, I was in a pinch. It is a holiday Monday. I realize a lot of people are tired. It was absolutely the worst customer service I've ever had at any Trader Joe's. Everybody was busy visiting with each other and not wanting to help you or check you out or help you find anything and they were all visibly very annoyed A lot of of them were younger people, and if I had to work on a holiday evening, even though I would be receiving holiday pay, I might be a little bit annoyed too I just don't think there's an excuse for bad customer service in the environment that we live in. I wasn't asking anybody for anything heroic, just some help while I was shopping. Also, when it was time to ring out, even though they didn't have any customers, all of the cashiers were busy chatting with each other about music and their lives and I felt like nobody wanted to ring out my groceries, and that was a real bummer. I have been going to Trader Joes for 30 years, and been going to the Pleasanton location(s) since 2011. Compared to Safeway and Raleys, TJs has very good prices, especially their specialty cheeses, lunch meats, and flowers! Food: Great selection of food, and certain items go out of stock quickly, I suggest going first thing in the morning. I have learned that the bread, tortillas, bagels and pastries live longer in my fridge. Produce and bread items seem to mold quickly. I come here at least once a week, having four teen/young adult children at home. Cheese Selection is exceptional, and such a great value. We love the Supreme Brie, 1000 Day Aged Gouda, Burrata, and Brie Bites. Everything you need to make for beautiful charcuterie boards can be purchased at TJ. Service: All of the workers are extremely helpful and friendly. They often offer to help me load up my car. Everyone works very hard here and they rotate different jobs/tasks around the store amongst the workers. Ambiance: I have been to dozens of TJ's stores around the country my favorites being Santa Cruz, which is very spread out, has more items in stock, and a huge beautiful mural, Palm Beach/FL is another location with many items we don't have at our local TJs. One of my favorite things about TJs is how small the stores are compared to a massive grocery store. read more

This is the only one trader joe that the cashiers show poker faces whenever I come. I know they do not have to smile to me. However, other staffs including securities in other trader joe stores are nice. I just checked the previous reviews and found those people who complained the bad attitude of staffs were Asians. People have to be careful, this store might be racist to Asians. read more

Right from the earliest days of Shelter-in-Place, they have consistently maintained high standards of cleanliness and controlled the number of customers entering the store. Our family relies on TJ for our staples - milk, eggs, seasonal fruit and vegetables, pizza, fish, deli meat, cheese and wine - and the occasional treat (the kids love their Pirates Booty). The checkout process is very smooth, and they are happy to scan purchases and put them back in the cart versus waste grocery bags, which I appreciate. I was pleasantly surprised how cautious this Trader Joe's location was with Covid safety procedures! Sanitizing carts, keeping capacity at a minimum with a line outside, 6ft apart markings on the floor, plastic barriers between you and cashier... all the preventive measures you used to see at the beginning of the pandemic. I was also pleased with how well stocked some of the specialty items I wanted were. Everything in my list was in stock, and easy to find. Remind me to stop in here more often! My only qualm with this location is they are always out of stock of many items I want. I went in recently and asked for a specific holiday item that I've been searching for and Paul not only looked to see when they'd be receiving it and happily took down my info to cal me when they arrive. To take it a step further, he put a few of them on hold for me! I was pleasantly surprised when they called and told me the items arrived and ready for me to pick up. This is a definitely must come visit grocery store for every week. The plaza is easy to get parking and no need worry about parking like the TJ in Castro Valley. Even though it seem little far from San Leandro, but it's worth to stop by here, because after shop this store, I also can visit Asian grocery store that happen to be close by. The staff are nice and friendly here. They also practice social distancing and clean the cart for customers.
