I love reading the Walmart reviews! Always makes me laugh that I'm not the only one who feels like I'm stepping into an odd social experiment. So all Walmarts are horrible, and having been to many, I feel like this one is probably the best (or least worse) I have been to. I mean, they have self check-out! I could never imagine my old Walmart in Long Beach having that! lol It was clean (by Walmart standards) and the few times I have been it hasn't been overcroweded. Walmart's return service is getting down to the bottom. First the machines went down for two weeks. Finally the machines are working but they do not allow return outside of 8-5. Come on, guys -- this is a Walmart. What kind of customer service did you expect? In my opinion, they fill their role as a discount retailer very well. Things in the store are clearly labeled and well organized. Almost never encountered anything where they were out of stock, except maybe on Black Friday. There is a small grocery section with your usual fruits, meats, and cheeses, plus some frozen food. Really that's all you can ask for from a Walmart. But it would be nice if they could turn off the RIDICULOUSLY LOUD BEEP on the price check machines when you scan a barcode. Also, sometimes the checkout line takes awhile. read more

Has everything you need at a reasonably low price which is at par with almost every other walmart. The customer service can be sub par, as it is pretty hard to find someone working walking in the aisles if you have a question, you usually have to go to the checkout lines just to ask your question. Parking lot can be pretty crazy at times and they have a decent variety of car cleaning equipments which is what i usually would come here to purchase since it is cheaper than a car repair specialty store. read more

Oil change here is TERRIBLE! After I waited in line for 25 minutes just for them to take my information and give them my car keys, the guy at the register THEN informs that it will be at least an hour to an hour and 20 minutes until my car would be ready. I would have walked out, but I had already waited in line so long I was not about to leave now. So, after shopping around Wal-Mart to kill time, and buying a few things, I went back to check on the status of my car. It had been an hour and 15 minutes, and my car was ready. However, no one had called me to tell me so. If I had not come over there to ask, who knows how long I would have been waiting! After I got back in the car, I saw that my "you need an oil change" light was still on. They had not reset it! Which means, I have to go back to my Honda dealer just to have them reset it. And, they did not change my air filter as part of the oil change. I thought that was a standard thing - but apparently not at Wal-Mart. Rest assured I will never get an oil change here again, and I will tell everyone else about my bad experience to save them the trouble as well. read more

Here is an experience with the Pleasanton Walmart Customer Service Center that I can't easily explain. I had four DVD players that I found out were defective. The DVD players overheat and can burn down your house or wherever you happen to be. Walmart exclusively distributed the DVD players. Walmart decided to issue a recall on all of these particular model players. On the Walmart website, Walmart encourages anyone with one of these players to bring it back for a full refund. The recall was issued in September 09. So, I dutifully, and tardily, brought my players to this Walmart for a refund. The nice girl at the customer service register tried to help me, but she could not find something in the computer that would let her refund. So, she called the assistant store manager. The assistant store manager came by and poked around on the computer and eventually said, "Sorry, we can't give you a refund." I replied, "Why?" She said, "because the recall period is over." Now, I happen to know of someone that returned one of these players to a different store for cash two weeks earlier. I mentioned this and she said, "Let me get the store manager." So, off she went to get the store manager. I, literally, stood and waited for twenty minutes before the store manager came over. When she did, she went to work looking at her computer to see what was going on with the players. She, also, said that she could not give me a refund because the recall period was over. I thought that was a big baloney sandwich. I quickly looked over her screen and found some important info. I pointed out that her Walmart monitor clearly stated that "A full refund will be given regardless of when the recall was announced." That seemed pretty clear to me. Unbelievably, she was unmoved. She finally said that she would go talk with a co-worker about the matter but she was sure that she was not going to give me a refund. Several minutes later she returned. She said that "Just this one time" she would refund the players. Well, hallelujah! We went through a bunch of paperwork and they finally produced a gift card for me. "Wha?" how about cash? But, by this time I was at my threshold for consecutive minutes spent inside a Walmart, so, I took the card and moved on with my life. Maybe my shopping needs are just that much more random than those of everyday customers, but I can NEVER seem to find anything I need here. I was looking for some grommets in the hardware section last time, and while they had 18 different kinds of decorative duct tape, washers and grommets seemed foreign to their selection. If you have a question regarding the location of an item, you're best off walking around until you find it. This is the worst Walmart I have ever been too, and I have been to many around the country. RANT ON... The employees don't care, argue with you, and are slower than a turtle. One employee actually yelled at my wife because she asked a question about where a product was, because she was busy stocking stuff. So, don't mess with the older lady stocking the cosmetics, she is MEAN. The "greeter" is only there 50% of the time and the cashiers seem like they are working at a prison...you can see the high morale at this place. In addition, they are always out of stuff. I used to love shopping at this Walmart. I shopped there for years but lately it's gone totally down hill. The returns have become horrible you wait online for half an hour or so. The people don't speak good English. You can't get the money back on your card or get a Walmart gift card even though you paid for it with your debit card. They send it back to your bank so they can accrue interest on your money which takes up to a week. And don't try to return anything you brought online the computers are always down! I have literally stood there over half an hour trying to return something! It really is sad you pay more and get less nowadays!! read more

Both bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. Toilet paper and ass gaskets everywhere. I tried to use the front bathroom but it was just too filthy. I walked to the back of the store to customer service to use that bathroom also is disarray. However the back bathroom had the added surprise of a gentleman letting his approx 4 year old son piss on the floor...thats not how we do it America. If you want to pee on the floor do it at home. There's no outstanding service, but nothing offensive either. I will tell you though. Their champagne selection is atrocious. Every so often I shop at Wal-Mart because it's so close to home. But I hate shopping here. I warned my mom about getting her oil change at Wal-mart, but she insisted because she needed to get it done. My mom brought in her car for an oil-change and was told it would be an hour wait. She didn't feel like waiting in the store so we went out for a bite to eat. Came back an hour later, and I had this feeling that they didn't change the oil in my moms car because it has happened to me before but I waited two frekain' hours. And guess what??? My moms car was never touched. Ain't that some $h!t!!!! They couldn't unscrew the drain plug gasket. Shouldn't they be prepared for this type of situation???? So they told my mom to loosen it and come back??? WTF?? Seriously??? My mom can't get under the car and loosen that plug? That's why we pay you to do it. They couldn't call or nothing to tell us. What a waste of an hour? Those lazy people at the oil-change department needs some re-training or have management hire people that knows how to handle certain situations. Got a nasty flat driving home to Los Angeles from San Francisco and was able to find this Walmart a few miles from pulling off the freeway. The automotive department closes at 7pm on Saturdays and as I pulled up around 7:30pm I naturally thought I was shit outta luck. Found the manager of the automotive department still there, a young cat named Justin. My girlfriend explained the situation to him and not only did he hook it up with a new tire, did so with a real friendly demeanor and stayed really late to help us out. I do give this place credit for being very cheap and having a great variety of things... But why this low of a rating? This black lady was beating her kids right in the parking lot. The kids even fell over and started crying and she was still cursing at them. There were a lot of customers walking around, not even flinching and the employees collecting carts paid no attention what-so-ever. I've never purchased electronics like TVs from Walmart. Mostly, I only go there to pick up basics like toiletries, cleaning supplies, groceries, etc., maybe small appliances at best. GF's TV died so after searching on walmart.com, a Samsung TV was on sale, had good reviews and was within budget. Walmart.com says it's "in stock" at Pleasanton so off we go on the 30 or so miles drive since all the other stores didn't have it. We get to the electronics department and start scanning the TV isles for the model on display but nada. Finally after more looking, I spot the TV in boxes as they were not on display. Not seeing the price, we go ask for help. Lady at the cashier has zero customer service skills. With a dour demeanor, she says she has to deal with another customer on the phone. The other guy at the cashier is serving someone else so we wait. Finally, she gets off the phone and we lead her to the area where the TVs are stocked. We get the TV and head back to the cashier to pay. Other guy is helping us now. For reason, GF's credit card is declined (apparently, Visa flags TV purchases at Walmarts far from your home location as potentially fraudulent). I ask if I can load the TV onto the cart while the transaction gets reprocessed and she goes, "No, you haven't paid for it yet" WTF? I'm still in the store and just placing it on the cart! Some Walmart employees act like they're working in a North Korean gulag. Seriously. That was the terrible buying experience. Next time, just buy on Walmart.com and have it delivered to a store or your home and save yourself some grief. read more

My last few visits here have either been really late at night, or during the mid afternoon. Today was a mid afternoon trip, there wasn't very many people and I found everything I needed with a breeze. I also found the sale of a lifetime, Ten Dollar Cases of Corona. Your typical WalMart store, but not a Super Walmart with a full grocery section. Lots of parking and becuz Sam Walton allows it, always an RV or two in the back of the lot. I never used to go here, but discovered they have DVD's for $5 and now I'm hooked. This store recently tried to clear the aisles more, putting less pallets of stuff in the aisles made the store look bigger. They try to provide good customer service, but the staff seems to be in working in slow motion. On the occasions I go, the staff is busy cleaning up and stocking the shelves. On another occasion, we bought something heavy and two employees that were stocking, stopped and helped us bring it out and load it into our car. The McD's out in the front gives a good option for an quick order of fries to eat or to get a drink while you shop. Yes, everything is cheap, but there are things that are less expensive than at Target or elsewhere like baby and pet food. You can order stuff on-line and some things will be shipped to the store free of charge, you pick up when it arrives, saving you shipping costs. You just need to be careful and not buy sub-quality items. Stick to well known brands, especially the electronics. You save a few cents on each item, but that adds up to dollars! No wonder why four of the Walton Family are on the top ten Richest People in America list. Like it or not, WalMart is here to stay. read more

This is the WORST smelling store I've ever been to. I'm aware of the restrooms being located right by the store entrance, but to be greeted by the aroma of a used bathroom before actually stepping foot into the store is a little unwelcoming. I expected to get past the thick smell, but instead it was temporarily masked by the scent of McDonald's French fries. Anywhere I went, the store smelled like a sewer. Maybe a sewage pipe or a septic tank was hit at some point during their renovation. I'm pretty sure they carry items that could eliminate any offensive odors, though. Thankfully, this particular location is not my local Walmart- it just happens to the be closest one when I visit family in Pleasanton and need to pick something up real quick. That being said, I noticed that nobody else was detecting any smell that was less than fresh. Perhaps Pleasanton noses are less sensitive to poopy smells. Aside from the foul odor, it's a typical Walmart with a good amount if customers and aisles with the usual random things scattered around. read more

I will not be shopping here anytime soon. I have been shopping here with my mom since I was in elementary school and my grandma even worked at this location. The staff here now could care less about helping you. The lines at the checkout take forever. You will be waiting longer in line than you actually took to grab your items in the store. They recently added in a self checkout stand but every time I try self checkout people cut you in line waiting, half the checkout stands are shut down and you end up taking the same amount of time as if you were to wait in line (10-20 minutes on a good day). This is supposed to be a full sized Walmart but over the years I've seen it shrink. The garden center used to be completely full and they would use the front of the center to display large plants, sheds, grills and bicycles. They have since taken everything inside and only sell what they think is most popular. The store mainly sells clothes which takes up half the store, a small grocery section, cosmetics and tire center. Though the one time I went to their service station I was stuck at Walmart for 3 hours and never wanted to experience that again. There is a Walmart in Livermore and I believe they are building another Walmart in Pleasanton. read more

Had a situation with a rude employee, how surprising? I believe that her name was Rayjnee, but she refused to give me her name or call a manager for me, so I'm not absolutely sure. Anyways, I recently rolled my ankle really badly and was told to use ankle wraps and ibuprofen, so that's what I went shopping for. I was using one of the seated shopping carts, and the basket was full of supplies. There were no bags in stock, but she was not going to inform me of that, so I asked to make sure. She said no, very dry. I asked if there were any reusable bags that they sell available (being that I have a bad ankle and many things to carry), she said no there's none. I then asked if people are allowed to bring their own, she pointed at the plastic shield in front of me with papers on it and said, "you can read it right in front of you it says no". Very rude. And I can honestly say I didn't pay attention to those signs, and I should've read them. So I, already being irritated that there are no bags said, "I was just asking a simple question you don't have to be rude for no reason." She said, "I'm not being rude I'm doing my job. [Right now is not the time to be overly friendly]" (she said something along the lines of that) So I asked how is being rude apart her job, and as I was saying that, she walked away to ask another associate to help me. The other lady was nice and very helpful and even apologized for not having bags (I didn't need an apology, but it was nice that she acknowledged the fact that it sucked that I didn't have a bag in my situation) and continued my transaction. As she's ringing me up, Rayjnee walked up to the checkstand right next me and basically asked her other coworker if she was the one that was right in the situation, not caring at all that I'm literally right next to her. Now she doesn't seem to care too much about being "too overly friendly" bc she's all up in her other coworker's face and much closer then 6 feet away from me lmao. So, the lady continues to ring me up and I ask her for the other employees name, apparently she doesn't know it. So, I ask the rude employee her name and at first she shows me her bag quickly and says here's the name; seeing that I'm getting phone ready to write her name down, now she wants to walk away and refuse to give me her name, saying, "you're saying I'm being rude to you so I don't have to talk to you anymore and I'm not giving you my name", so I ask the other employee if she can get me the manager. At this point, she's walked through several different checkstands to talk to other associates about the situation, and talking hella loud too. Basically talking crap about me to her other coworkers in front of me, like girl did you forget this is a customer service job?? I don't care if it's a pandemic or not, that does not an excuse for being rude to people wtf? As I'm waiting for the manager she's still doing a whole lot of talking to her other coworkers, then the manager comes and I speak to him, and I ask him for her to apologize and he basically says that he can't do that, but he'll speak with her. So I ask him who I can get in contact with about this situation and he tells me to call 1800walmart. I then ask him for her name, which for some reason - even though he's the manager handling this situation - he does not know. He pretty much said the same thing the other employee said, which is that they "don't know her name but it starts with R I think..". Funny how 2 managers now don't know the name of this employee who's been working so closely to them. As I'm leaving, I ask the employee at the door - who is also one of the people Rayjnee went to talk to about me like a high schooler - what the name of the employee is and OF COURSE she doesn't know either lmao. Isn't that crazy??? Not one single person in this small section that she's working in knows her name?? But she's talked to every single one of the people that I asked?? I guess that's how employees are though, like you're going to be more loyal to your coworkers then a customer, so I guess it makes sense, but still did not stop me from trying to get her name right. I filled a complaint and described exactly how she looked, so I hope that works. I honestly come to this Walmart, if not everyday, every other day and have never seen her before. I typically go through self checkout because over the years the employees at the Walmart have really sucked. They'll damn near hire anybody here they don't really give a damn. I've been coming to this Walmart for 12 years and typically try to avoid the employees. I'm sure most of them are great, but I've have too many unpleasant experiences to want to interact with them very much. I don't really ever need to talk to them because I know where everything is and use self checkout. I would recommend that for everybody that shops here. On November 7th, 2014 I stopped by here Friday late afternoon to buy boys socks. The thing about socks I noticed, you can't try them on BEFORE buying, which to me sounds ridiculous and even more waste of time having to go back/forth due to wrong sizing. I saw this older women working between children's section, then she went off to work around the Men's dept. Folding and placing jeans neatly back on the shelf between 4:10 pm to 4:30 pm as she lazily sat on the floor to do this task. She was short, her hair was short, wore glasses, due to age, she was very wrinkly and Hispanic nationality. Our conversations: Me: "Excuse me." Women: [She looked up, but didn't make any eye contact] Me: "My son currently wears boys shoe in size 2 so how do I go about finding the correct size for socks? I mean, it's NOT like he can try on these socks because there in a package. See??" Women: "What?" Me: [Repeated the same question] Women: "Go ask somebody else!!" Me: "You're not going to help me?" Women: "There's another employee in another dept, go ask them." Me: "Wait, you're NOT going to help me??" Women: "GO ASK SOMEBODY ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!" Me: [stared AT her in shock!!] Do YOU know what I did you may ask?? And, I have NEVER done anything like this in ANY store, EVER, but .. out of FRUSTRATION!! .. I walked back to the boys section, taking the matter into my own hands as I started ripping the first packaged socks right open so my kid could try them on. No WAY I'm wasting MY time having to drive back to that damn store just to exchange when I could let my kid try on a pair of socks BEFORE buying them like it was a pair of shoes. First pair I picked up, turned out to be too small so I got the next size up, which was Medium. I ripped the package right open, which thankfully was a perfect match!! So, I bought 2 packs + happy too!! I walked up to the cashier, ready to pay for both. Young girl: "I'm sorry, this package of socks seem to be open already." Me: "Don't be. I was the one who opened them up to make sure they were the right size for my kid, save MY time from having to come back to the store for an exchange." Young girl: "Ah, I see." I left happily, after my purchases, but that other Walmart employee still irks me when I think about her!! Overall, if you are one of those people who MUST try on before buying, go right ahead. Obviously, Walmart staff does NOT care. The only products I won't try on BEFORE buying are under garments like panties. That's just gross NOT just for ME, but to others. With innocent as a pair of socks, we should have our own rights to be able to try them on like we do with a pair of shoes. This review is only for the Automotive center. I brought my car in on 1:30 pm on a Sunday. Worst time to bring it in? Probably, but I accepted the fact that it would take 3+ hours. Check in was fine, told me that the wait would take 2 hours. I come back at 430, wait for 30 minutes for the people behind the counter to figure out which was my paperwork and keys (which again, was fine they were nice enough about it). Finally it's my turn to pay and they tell me THEY DECLINED MY SERVICE. 3 hours ago, you couldn't tell me that? Alan, the "automotive manager" so rudely explains that this is part of protocol blah blah which is totally fine, but please don't be so rude about it? Your customer wasted 3 hours just to find out that no service was done, and you're the one to be rude about it? We called for the Assistant Manager of the store, which we only found because I called the store and asked for the Assistant Manager, Michael, (I guess calling via phone is faster than calling on an intercom? Who knew). He was polite yet useless, got nothing out of it except "Alan's manager will be notified for this training opportunity". TLDR: Wasted 3 hours to not get my car serviced, Alan the "automotive manager" was rude AF and I will never shop at a Walmart ever again (like they would care, but I like to feel like I'm sticking it to the man) read more

This store is so horrible. Most of their items are always out of stock. The store is poorly managed. The entry way smells like a sewer. Please fix that!. Most of the employees doesn't know where things are. The aisle is so crowded of stocks and employees re-stocking stuff. It's a safety hazard. Then today, I had a bad experience with an employee named Girthy. She was so rude. I think she was unhappy with her job, but that is not my problem. I asked her on where can I find a wedding card and she just told without looking in my eyes "I don't know mam, if it's not here, we probably don't carry it." And then she just left. I'm like whoah! What did I do? This Walmart is the most horrible Walmart that I have been to. I swear to God the Walmart in Rosarito, Mexico was way better than this. read more
