Worst. Walmart. Ever. And that's saying something! They appeared to be under construction during my visit, which given what I saw, is a very very good thing, but the current experience is somewhere between a Big Lots and a Goodwill. - The entry area (and to a lesser extent, the whole store) smelled like a small child had shat themselves and forgot to wipe. - There was no organization to the store and no real differentiation between the departments. Everything was all just kinda placed randomly in a big open space. There appeared to be very little stock and I felt like I was at some type of Walmart Outlet store. I left without buying anything and came to the realization that I'm in my 30's now and have enough disposable income to justify going to Target instead. read more

This is the 5th time I am here for a pick up and the service at the .com pick up is a stupid joke. The folks at the registers back are incompetent at best. I was completely lied to by Al the store mgr I called ahead of time to see if I could cash my check and I told him the amount he said yes so I don't hit the bank up and I wait till I get off work I called him at 5pm and when I drive there the lady starts to cash my check and asks him if she has enough in her drawer and he says a new store policy they can't cash checks after 2pm over $400 and its a policy all walmarts have .... I went there on Sunday morning 8/16/15 to do an oil change for my van, drove 20 miles from my home, arrive there around 9 AM just to find out their auto department is closed due to ALL employees called off for the day. The manager told me there's a chance they will open that day if the employee of the next shift can come, so I left my car and they told me they will call me back to let me know. No body call me that day so I call them, got disconnected 4 times until they told me the auto dept is closed, and I asked if I can pick up my car, the operator told me they closed and don't have the key so I can pick up tomorrow. Next day Monday, too busy with work, Tuesday I called in the afternoon they told me they cannot do my car since I have to sign the paperwork for that day even I did on Sunday, I asked if they can fax it over, they said no. And I have to pick up my car and they didn't do anything on my car even I left it there for 3 days. They really make it look like it's my fault that I left the card there and it's not their fault if the auto dept is closed no body say sorry or apologizing. They don't car about customer service and no exemption even I left my car there for 3 days and they still don't want to do my car even I told them I can sign anything they want when I pick up the car. The worst Walmart and I will not do any business with Walmart anymore. The funny thing is when I pick up my car everybody call me "hon" which is weird, since only my wife call me that. read more

I came to pick up 2 items ordered online. There was no line at the pick up counter. The lady was helping someone and apparently there was some technical issue with that pick up, so she called another staff overhead to come and opened another cashier to help me. I was in Walmart last week in the electronics dept. I was looking for a phone case for a rare size phone. Molly who was working that department came and helped me until she found it. Can you say trash? I try and go shopping early before all the regular trash folk accumulate here and get on my nerves. I was in the refrigerator section and saw an employee push a wood stick through the refrigerator box he was pushing all the nasty garbage and meat left over clutter out of view instead of cleaning it- you f-ing lazy ass! that is a health code violation! All the isles are usually never in stock of anything or messy and management here is very incompetent on all levels, did I mention the rude non english speaking cashiers that have a chip on their shoulders?? Let me start off by saying I have gone to this Walmart for years I am a very frequent Walmart shopper, so often that some employees even recognize me and say things like "I'll see you tomorrow you know you'll be back! " Haha I like that girl she's nice but this isnt about her. The store is not the most pleasant smelling at times but as far as other Walmarts go it's relatively clean compared to what I've heard about other locations. They have a decent selection of cute clothes here I'm always very impressed with the clothes!! What I am always disappointed with is the inventory and stocking of cosmetics they are always out of everything! It's always a mess. I will go there weekly to find the same item and it never will get stocked! Always empty ?? It doesn't make sense order more of that item if it sells well! Pull from other stores if they don't sell said item as much... other stores like Walgreens and cvs always have it stocked so I don't see why you can't do the same? For weeks thy will be out on stock of popular well selling items. They recently decided to completely rearrange the entire cosmetic area which honestly it was not an upgrade . They got rid of certain products I would always buy and reduced space for certain brands. It's hard enough already to find things now it's even harder with everything all moved around. ***But my biggest issue is with the stockers that literally block all of the isles with huge pallets and fork lifts and motorized carts starting at like 9-10 pm! And then at closing time they literally give 10 warnings that they're about to close. I've had issues with being able to access aisles of the store because of them being blocked by employees for a long time. But this week I have had enough ! While checking out at closing time I heard a cashier arguing with a woman who accidentally grabbed the wrong product. The cashier told her to hurry up and that "she does this all the time" feeling bad for how this woman was being talked to, I decided to chime in and say "it is really hard to get items At night because of the isles being blocked by employees stocking. I said I always have difficulty With it and especially did that evening, it Was worse than usual in addition to one of The areas I needed to buy from was totally rearranged, nothing was where it Normally was... instead of the employee sympathizing apologizing with me she snapped at me and said then don't shop so late! I said I have work and it is the only Time i can come.. PLUS I should be able to shop at anytime the store is open for business. Walmart Should not be stocking To that degree whole customers are in store shopping... she also mentioned all stores do it.. but the difference is at Safeway for example it's spread out and the staff will make an effort to move out of your way or help you access something instead of blocking off access to multiple isles in an area. I can still move my kart down all isles when Safeway stocks plus they are open 24hrs so they don't have a choice to wait until closed. They employees there are also friendly not rude generally. Finally the customer service with a few exceptions at this location is terrible. I always encounter rude cashiers or see rude interactions with other customers as a witness. It's frustrating. They will tell me I can't return an item with the receipt because it doesn't come up when they scan it or that I can't get full price because the item went on sale but I have my receipt! So I should get what I paid but it doesn't come Up full price when they scan the system so they can't be bothered to correct it. I could go on snd on. I continue to shop here because of price and habit /convenience it's close to other stores I need to go to. But at this point I'm going to start going to target on my way home from work and maybe try amazon. read more

So, I take my car to the Walmart for an oil change. I know stupid me! Anyway the next day I am packing the car to drive my family to Disneyland and I notice a huge puddle of oil under my car. I called the store at 6:55 pm. Auto services closes at 7:00 pm. The manager refused, absolutely refused to hold somebody there for 5 mins. to fix their mistake! This is the WORST store for making a return! The last two times I've been in returns I've had to wait 15-30 minutes even though I have my receipt and my items are still new. There are too few people trained on the return registers. While people are there to take back items they are not trained to do returns, I was told. Well train them then! How difficult can it be? I called the manger # list above returns, no answer, such a joke. Suggestion: Have one line for people with receipts and new items and another for problems only. Why should we all have to wait for someone who is trying to make a bogus return or has no receipt? The rudest the most far by worst Walmart in PLEASANTON. I had bought a laptop from very difficult for me to use. The associate who ringed me up told me specifically I have 30 days and I demand to speak to a manage STEPHEN who was very rude and kindly explained the situation to him and all of a sudden he's masking rude side comments to me and told me they aren't going to get my laptop back because of the 15 day policy. If I had known it was 15 days I would've brought it back but I listened to their associate. Their staff were telling me that that electronics are 15 day return policy when their associate who rang me up told me that it is 30 days. Having a few hundred dollars left in my FSA card, I came to this Walmart store in Pleasanton trying to buy FSA eligible items on a Saturday evening. Well, the FSA card had some issues during checkout and the guy with a key to void the transaction was very rude! He told me that they weren't able to help and asked me to come back at 8 on the coming Monday morning (probably they need a good rest on Sunday before they want to help). Terrible customer service. Waited 40 minutes tonight trying to buy a fishing license. Only one clerk there and she claimed she wasn't authorized to do that. The other person was on break but would return soon. I walked around for over 20 minutes and when I returned, still no one to help me. Meanwhile there are Walmart employees wandering around everywhere pushing carts and chatting with each other. Another frustrated customer in sporting goods needed help but never found anyone either. Finally I decided to leave and put back the $50 or so of other stuff I was going to buy. I told the clerk that I wasn't blaming her personally since she least attempted to find someone but that I was not happy, that Walmart wasted my time. It's too bad that Walmart doesn't train clerks that work in that department to do a simple thing like fill out a fishing license. A 12 yr old kid could be taught that in about 15 minutes or less. Am I coming back? Probably so but I will avoid this store when possible. I go to Walmart stores to save money. It some cases the savings are substantial. For example, Walgreens charges $15.00 for antacid tablets I use while Walmart charges $7.50. That's a 50% discount. I usually buy at least 2 and sometime 4 bottles, so that saves me $30 on just this one item! Some products are not any cheaper, but many are and selective buying will save you a bundle. Walmart is not evil, or anymore evil than other big box chains. Many of the posters here are completely ignorant of retailing and simply repeat anti-Walmart propaganda. The Walmart business model is based on low costs, to produce low prices. The pre-tax revenue per employee runs about $8,000. You can check this by going to Yahoo Finance and reading their income statement filed with the SEC. This does not leave a lot of room to provide lavish benefits. A raise in the average wage of $4/hr would wipe out all revenues. Walmart could raise salaries and benefits, but that would increase prices by a non-trivial amount. It would then not be Walmart, but a store operating on another business model. Perhaps you think Walmart should be outlawed. Ok, but a lot of people depend on Walmart's cheap prices. As to the particular store in Pleasanton, I don't find the employees any more rude than other stores in the Bay Area, and a lot more polite than the small retailers in Berkeley. These are low-paid, low skill workers many with poor language skills, so you are not going to get a high level of service. But Walgreens is not any better and I have to pay a lot more. Ditto for Rite Aid. Long's is the worst. They tried to short the tablets on my prescription and argued about it. The ambiance in this store like other Walmarts is pretty dreadful, and if you don't like that don't shop there. Go somewhere else and pay more for better ambiance. I do that for the items that don't sell for less. I also shop at Whole Foods which is really high end for the products I get there that I can't find elsewhere. My chief complaint against this particular store has to do with stocking. The things I want are frequently sold out and that's frustrating. Perhaps this store does not manage its stock well, or it has a lot of customers that run down the stock quickly. In general I have found the employees helpful. No one was ever rude to me. Retail stores are very sensitive to this issue. I suspect some of the posters here are making things up because they think they have to trash the store on ideological grounds. read more

You would think that being in P-town that this would be a nicer Wal-mart, but it's not unfortunately. The customer service is horrible and works there are unattentive to customers. They seem to all go about their specific jobs and don't seem to smile much or be of much help to people. This review is for the oil change service. I went in at 2:30 and was quoted it would be no longer than 30 minutes and they just now finished over 2 hours later. When I asked the supervisor what took so long he gave me a bs answer that my car and the one in front has a skid plate and then said going up and down the stairs to check everything else. parking lot is usually filled solid. employees seem nice, but the people who come here suck. I had 15 minutes to kill and bought some gym shorts that were 6.88! wow them prices are great. checkout sucked as there was only 2 open lanes and self checkout... this location is like the one in oakland right next to the airport. there are MOBS of LOUD people. the people here are worse than the employees. I haven't shopped here in a while, since it became a super Walmart. Today my husband needed to pick up a blanket he needed for work so we dropped by to get it quick. We picked up the blanket and a few other item so we decided to got o the self check out line. When we it was time to scan the blanket, there was no barcode, we tried to search for the item in then item lookup but it wouldn't come up. There was an employee standing by the other check out counter, I ask if she could help us because there is no barcode on the item, she looked at me and said, "Sorry I can't sell you an item with no barcode". So what am I supposed to do? I don't work there and I needed that blanket. I didn't have time to argue with her so we just canceled all our items and went to the next cashier. The same thing happened, when she tried to scan the blanket there was no barcode and she told us she couldn't sell it to us if there is no barcode... Then why is it in the shelf then if it's not for sale, they just keep telling us that there is no barcode(yes we know that already) without doing anything about it. They could have looked for the item themselves rather than just standing there looking at us like we're stupid. I think they're so inefficient, unprofessional and No customer service at all. Just standing there doing nothing is just plain laziness. If I could give no star at all, that's what I would give this store. Wal-Mart Auto service technicians could not care less about customers, presumably, because nobody is being held to account for what they do and how they treat customers. . I went there for the flat tire service and ask them to put the spare tire back to where it should be, in my case it is under the middle of the van. When I got my van back after 4 hours waiting, the careless technician place the spare tire in the back of my van. So, when I asked the technician to put it back to the bottom of the van, she said that I could do it myself. Seriously? It goes underneath a van, not in the trunk. When I insisted that she needed to finish the job, she gave me a cold look. when she finished what she was supposed to finish, she just walked away without a word. Ok. i know i'm reviewing walmart so... :P no. the service isn't great. but it's not super busy during the weekdays so i can deal with it. compared to the milpitas walmart, this one is a bit cleaner and less hectic. i do like the mcdonalds inside and doing online pickup can be a hit or miss. sometimes it has taken me well over 30 minutes to even get an associate to help me. and others, it has taken me about 15. the returns counter people are EH at best. i feel like the employees here are slightly happier? i dont know. they're definitely not as cranky as the milpitas walmart employees read more
