This is my go-to regular Walmart location even when I moved out of Natomas. It is located in the Natomas Marketplace next to Home Depot, Bath and Body Works and across from Regal Cinema and In n Out. The parking lot is always packed which is one of cons with this location. This location used to have a McDonald's inside, but now it's a Subway. It also does not have a produce section as it is not a Super Walmart - they do offer a lot of other food items, including a decent freezer section. During our last visit, we came in looking for a CD player for my mom. We luckily found one plus we also took home some Fall/Halloween pajamas, plus other stuff that is currently slipping my mind. This location gets such a bad rap..everything locked up (totally understandable) and no produce (unhappy camper..but I understand that too). This review is about the friendly service I experience during every visit. Today I was grabbing a few items in the HBA section and needed to find bug spray. I asked the cashier in HBA (her name was Shanice, Shalise, Shyniece, something close to that) and she quickly came from behind the register and verbally navigated me through the store like the GPS on my phone. Such a sweet young lady, we shared a quick laugh as I appreciated her colorful store navigation and I was on my way. The customer service at this Walmart is horrible. I went in for a bike pump but the door needed to be unlocked. I asked about 8 times and waited a whole hour until someone helped. It gets better tho, i had to let people cut in front of me because the women who had helped me was taking so long to come back with my item.... And no one knew how to unlock the doors somehow ? Alicia answered and was very helpful in assisting me with getting my son's medication delivered via app and got me all set up through the Walmart app. So thank you Alicia for being patient with me as I took awhile to set it up. Parking is always a nightmare, as is the store. Always. The store is rarely clean, rarely smells clean, and if you leave feeling like you need to shop elsewhere, you do. The store carries a variety of items from home goods, auto, crafts, etc. Employees are unfriendly and nonexistent on the floor for assistance, so go in knowing that if you find someone to help you, it's that unicorn. This Walmart in Natomas is one of the worst in the Sacramento area for many reasons. The shopping center where it is located is one of the reasons. The parking lot is tough to get in and out of and is always super crowded. I usually get into a bad mood at the parking lot before I can even go inside the store. Also, by some reason, the people who get out of their car will always walk in the middle of the road. The checkout lines at this Walmart have a very long line all the time. We don't stop here often and I'm reminded why every time I do. The parking lot is usually packed and that translates into a packed store too. I tend to feel claustrophobic anytime I visit. Do the aisles seem closer together than they used to be? On our last visit we were picking up some candy for a little event and while we were able to navigate the store and get through the self checkout pretty easily, I was sad to find multiple packs of candy I picked were stale. You don't think of candy going bad, but when you bite into a gummy candy and find it hard to chew (when it should be soft) it's a bit of a letdown. I also noticed on my last visit that a lot of items, especially in the personal hygiene section seem to be locked up. It's tough that they're having issues with shoplifting to the point of doing that, but personally that would keep me from buying them altogether from here and going to Amazon or Target instead. read more

I am a regular Walmart shopper and this is the WORST Walmart by far. It is the one closest to my house and I will avoid it at all costs. It had been years since I been and don't remember it being so bad. The set up is weird. the aisles are like a maze instead of just simple rows. The food is right in the middle of the housewares section. Shelves are empty with broken items. The aisles seem very close together and congested with massive people. Practically the ENTIRE pharmacy section is under lock and key and you have to ask someone to get stuff out for you. I remember asking about this at another location and they told me that it is determined high theft items so it varies from store to store. I was waiting with another customer and I told him this. He says, " But For TUMS? All I want is a roll of TUMS. People steal TUMS????" so that right there tells you something. Then the cashiers are not the best. Guy charged me for 3 bags when I told him I only needed 2. I tried to warn him before he punched it in and alas no. So then I pay for it and he says oh wait, let me get a manager for your ten cents. It ain't worth my time to wait but seriously could have been avoided. By that time, I couldn't wait to get the heck out there. Just Awful. I won't be back unless I am desperate. read more

Still a one star review for this Walmart. Seriously there is a stigma that comes along with Walmart but not all Walmarts are the same and there are actually good ones out there. This Natomas location however is THE WORST. Aside from all the things listed in my previous post I am mostly tired of the terrible parking, unsafe parking lot, terrible customer service and long line, most things are locked up and now pick up fraud! Back in December my husband ordered a Samsung Watch for in-store pick up. He received the email indicating the item was in stock and ready to pick up. When he went to the store, the associate sad the watch was sold out and not available. As a result, he came home and reordered the watch to be delivered to our home. A few days later, my husband received another email indicating the watch had been picked up! No one had our email and if they did the associate obviously did not check the ID of the person that picked up the item! I think this was an inside job. To make matters worse, when he went to customer service about the incident, the manager told him there was nothing they could do in-store and to open a dispute with our credit card company. We opened the dispute and were declined the refund because Walmart claimed the item was given to the customer! So here we go again... my husband returned to Walmart and this time he waited and waited and was finally giving a phone number to call at Walmart online Within minutes of the call, the transaction was reversed and our credit card was refunded. If the fraud hadn't occurred in the first place, we wouldn't have had to go through their horrible customer service and things would have been remediated sooner if they gave us the correct number to call the first time! read more

This location definitely lives up to its 1.5 star rating. Let's start off by entering the building and there's a big puddle of vomit right in the front. Everything of value is locked up- which is to be expected nowadays. BUT, it's necessary to have people on staff with keys to unlock the cases. I waited alongside another customer for over 20 mins to get an item out of the locked case. At least 5 associates told us they didn't have the key and not one offered any assistance. I finally called the store from my cell phone and spoke with someone who said they would send someone over. About 5 minutes later, an associate with a key showed up and helped the additional 4 customers who had gathered waiting to select their items. Went through self checkout which was quick and easy. And guess what? About 30 mins later, the vomit puddle was still there. Unacceptable. read more

First imagine a parking lot with spilled and tossed out drinks. Trash all around. Black aa pitch parking spots. Shit, this Wal has likely an uglier lot and dirtier than most all in the 916. I have found discarded oil and oil filters from some human trash that don't have the decency to clean up their mess and leave it for others to do. Tough call as I was between a 1 or a 2 for this Wal. For years this has been my closest Wally to N. Natomas. Crap does that suck. Service generally means chasing employees and hunting them down for help. I had one today and see was practically brisk walking and I gave up trying to follow her to ask a ?. When you get someone to help which I did, they will just take you to the product and point to where it is an then jam. I don't blame them. They don't get paid enough and get so used to ghetto rageddy Ann and Andys and get sick of dealing with their ghetto attitudes etc. The store is one of the most unkempt and certain aisles can be messy. Worst thing Walmart does is not putting price tags on items. It is hard to find a price on something not on the right spot on the shelf. Subway has replaced McD's as the eatery in this Wal. The return line is the worst. It combines Money orders/western union etc with returns. Most employees in that dept get headache customers making them non-smiling and at times grumps. This Wal can and has made it onto ghetto youtube vids. Years back some fight broke out here during Black Friday. Ghhheeeettooo! The peeps frequenting this Wal gives you a big fat clue what your shopping experience may point to. Women in pjs, old man today with major BO, big woman blocking an aisle and not letting anyone pass by, kids running loose, adults yelling and being loud and obnoxious. I have seen it all and I don't come here much. Seriously, I dread and come here when I need something that they have a good price on. That is it. Plus this place is a madhouse in the evenings and weekends. I would drive further to a Wal more like the Walmarts I have seen in Vegas....cleaner, nicer employees and security, product and shelves that look good. I told a security guy at a Walmart who was nice and chatty that in CA we pay a dime for plastic bags and was shocked that they are free in Vegas. He said that is why he would never move to Cali. All the stupid new laws voted for and passing in CA. I couldn't agree more and was in a culture shock how I felt safer even at night at that Walmart and that people were more down-to-earth and friendly and keep a much nicer Walmart store than our ghetto Walmarts in Sac. I always muse about leaving Cali for the same reasons most do...cost of living, laws, taxes, hostile business climate, nicer people, more courteous and better drivers, more land/house and less cramped living and on and on but I stay as I was born and lived my entire existence in the Golden State and may be too much change to live in another state. But believe me, the push to leave gets stronger everyday. Anyways, the Walmart in West Sac is much nicer than this one and refreshing by CA standards so if you don't mind driving further from Natomas, I would recommend it. Was here this evening to get some sports card. We were told to form a line and they would open the case for us after stocking it. Everyone was waiting patiently. Then a store Manager Margret came out behind a door and shouted at us "you got be in line for someone to open it." Yes shouted at us. Then all hell broke loose. Some people had been in line for over an hour. This manager should have handled this situation better. She needs training on situations like this and needs to loose her title. read more

My house burned down on Christmas, so I came in today to try and buy some basic stuff since I lost everything. I had a gift card for Walmart that still had a couple of dollars on it. When I came to the cashier, I told her I wanted to use my gift card. I tried to use it, but was having a difficult time. I am not tech savvy, I'll admit. The Natomas Walmart may now be the worst Walmart in Sacramento now that the El Camino location closed. This is an old school Walmart without a full supercenter selection as part of the aging Natomas Marketplace retail center. Parking is decent, but it is shared with other stores and has other problems. Accessing the store is a banzai run with weird turns off Truxel Road and internal to the shopping center. You will risk an accident and road rage navigating the entrance and might actually find a parking space far from the entrance. People are always angry here so watch out for cars as you walk towards the store. The store seems always seems like a run down and neglected stepchild. The interior is drab and crazy at the same time with crowded and cramped aisles and displays placed to deliberately frustrate shoppers. Recent COVID restrictions are even worse although nobody pays attention to those anyway. Sometimes you can actually find what you are looking for. They have lots of stuff you may not need and often little of what you want. There is a small grocery section and the normal Walmart options which are nice to have under one roof, but the disjointed shopping layout and punishing checkout system is just too much. This is the place for cheap shopping in Natomas with check cashing and tobacco sales. You will suffer every time you come here. They are one of the few places selling auto care and garden supplies in Natomas, so you may still need to visit here. Make it short and sweet. Walmart really needs to step it up, but this place is usually busy so who cares. read more

I was instructed by Walmart over the phone to come into the store in person to handle a manufacturer warranty for a Walmart brand product. She refused to even listen and just kept repeating that the return date had past. Just kept asking why i refused to file an insurance claim rather than try to get Walmart to honor it's manufacturer warranty. I do not recommend people purchasing Walmart brands, such as Onn tablets. I purchased a vacuum and leaf blower on 12/12. Today 12/14 I opened the leaf blower box to do yard work and it was empty. Came back to walmart to return the box for a refund and they refused to assist. I should not have to take a loss for them selling me an empty box.
