I order online 2 items & when I arrived at BBW, I wasn't greeted by an employee, I've gotten ignored because another customer came after me, got greeted & the online order was in process. I waited for another worker to be available and she was nice and updated me on my order as I waited patiently. Upon the order, another employee came up and said he didn't see my order and for me to go to the front cashier, which I did and he checked again, my order has been sitting on the counter behind him. I understand it's a hit or miss when it's busy but some employee should not make the customers feel uncomfortable and at least be a teamwork with the coworker not who you pick and choose the customer you want. I will begin this review being completely honest. I have not been to this location in years, intentionally. It's not because of the service because that's not the issue, it is where it's located at. It is one of the busiest shopping centers within Sacramento. But due to the fact, they had this great sale going on. This was the only location that had exactly what I needed without fail. I walked in the store and it was wall to wall packed ! The check out line was stretched basically, to the middle of the store. But the staff was on point, and moved the line along, and they had great attitudes all around. My order was ready for me to pick up, the young lady who assisted me made sure all the items were in the bag accordingly. We stopped in to stock up on wallflowers and hand soap and ended up coming in on a good day with plenty of sales. A staff member greeted us right away and offered us a basket, which we accepted. We sniffed our way through the store and ended up with a nice selection of classics and seasonal scents and were able to easily navigate the areas of the store. Check out didn't take too long, even though there was a line and I was able to use a coupon from my email too. Been to this location a few times already in person, and had ordered online. We know this location does not get busy. Yet they take their sweet time with the online orders. When confronted in person in regards to our online orders. They then proceed to start preparing it, when they were just as capable to do it well before we had even had to bring it up let alone having to confront them in person. We had a prior online order a while back which is a buy three get three deal for the hand soaps. We waited for any confirmation and it took days when all we ordered was hand soaps. The main reason why our order took so long (according to them) was that the website claimed to have had the product but the store itself did not. There should have been some communication done with the customer at least on their behalf to either substitute or to cancel the order instead of wasting everyone's time. Instead they simply packed my order with the one item missing and was telling me that they couldn't do anything about it nor honor the deal at the time. They did not want to give me a replacement or refund for the one item they didn't have in stock. We even have a recent order we had placed in the morning, but have yet to hear about anything about it. We called this location to confront and ask the whereabouts and progress of this order since it has been many hours (3-4 by now) and I know it does not take long packing the items that are all within the same area. After calling them, we then had received the confirmation that it's ready to be picked up. Super unprofessional and very disorganized location to order at. I placed an online pick up order on the morning of 1/20 and then received an email stating my order was ready for pick up within 4 hours! This was super convenient, or so I thought. When I walked in, there was no one at the door to greet me. When I finally got a workers attention I gave her my information and she said "she will go back to check on my order." I stood at the entrance and watched that employee walk up to a customer and ask if they needed help and then continued to help her. It was weird. So with what felt like 10 minutes, I then walked up to the front to inquire about my order. The original gal I gave my information to walked up to the registers laughing with another team member while looking at me, and proceeded to say "she will look into my order and bring it out." I waited another 10 minutes and someone brought out my order and she had some type of attitude. I asked if we needed to verify if everything I ordered was correct? And she just answered with the rudest tone. To the workers, who worked around 5pm on Thursday 1/20 - they provided the worst customer service I have experienced at this location. I was greeted at the door and told the worker I was there for online order pick up, she wrote down my order number and radioed my order to the other worker in the back. By the time I walked to the back to get my order by the check out area they had it out and ready for me and I was out in only a few minutes. I went around 2-3 pm and there was only one other person inside the store besides me which was nice because it gets a little annoying when it's crowded. I was able to browse through the whole store without an issue since I was sort of the only one there. The shop was cool inside, fully stocked shelves and stands, they were also very organized and neat which was helpful when you're trying to look for a certain item. They didn't have the store swarming with workers trying to bug you every chance they get but it's nice sometimes to know at least one person is on the floor and ready to help which they didn't. They had like four workers that day, one was stocking shelves, a greeter at door, two at checkout station and 0 workers on the floor. They were also very helpful when I asked about certain products so definitely don't hesitate to ask questions if you need help. Also veryyyy important if you're into candles listen up cuz they got a limited amount of candles only which is sad because I was hoping to see a bigger selection of candles. If you're looking for a larger selection of candles to go through maybe try Arden mall or some place else. Also, I loveeeee gingham since it's close to a similar fragrance I love but they no longer carry it in stores and is only online exclusively. I like fruity and fresh type of scents so I was happy to know that they had gingham in store! I grabbed like a ton of candles from there. I'd come here again if I lived closer since I like how it's not so crowded just wished they had more candle selections. read more

I am not one to use perfumed lotions and scented candles. But I have family and friends that do. So for those gift giving needs, I venture to my neighborhood Bath & Body Works. The shop is in the same center as Walmart. Actually, it is between Walmart and PetSmart. This BBW is filled with the typical BBW products: lotions, liquid foam, body sprays, perfume, men's shaving lotion, hand sanitizer, wall plug in scents, scented candles ... stuff like that. The shop is organized and always pretty tidy even in the hubbub of the holiday season. It has a working sink where you can sample the liquid hand soaps, which is quite handy. The staff is always so darn nice and helpful. But lately the place has been a mad house...duh it's the holiday season. Last weekend, I witnessed a frenzy of shoppers attacking a display of full sized hand lotions marked down to $2.95. Apparently it was the special of the day. They got the music so loud with the customers have to yell to get any type of attention and then employees are talking so loud to the customers places nightmare turn down. I was greeted right away and asked to use the anti bacterial hand spray before entering as well as wearing a mask, Asked what I was interested in I was handed a bag to put my items into. After looking through the store I knew I would need another bag. There were many great smelling candles (bought four) as well as a deal on hand soaps. The holiday scents were good but not overwhelming. They are well stocked for the holidays. I also picked up a few of the smaller anti bacterial hand sprays with some nice scents. Having said that, I recently received an email from Bath & Body Works on a killer deal for WALLFLOWER SINGLE REFILLS. I called into this location to confirm if they had my favorite wallflower scents in store. Every time there's a deal, I stock up and also use my coupon to save even more money! I am so absolutely addicted to my wallflowers, as they make my entire house smell nice and fresh! My favorite scents, so far, is Fresh Linen and Sweet Pea. It seems to be the most popular when my friends and family come over to visit. I have also ventured out and tried their Fresh Linen and Lavender, but nothing compares as my first true loves for Sweet Pea and Fresh Linen. I also love their deals for Travel Size and Regular Sized lotions. If you come around Christmas time or during their big Summer Sale, they have a selection of retired scents. My favorite is Freesia and I'm so sad they discontinued it, but every time I see it available either in store or online, I stock up on it as well! The Aromatherapy collection is amazing too! My favorite is the "Relax" or Eucalyptus Spearmint scent. They sometimes have it in Wallflowers, but they get snatched up quick! So stock up when you see them! Love, love, love this location! The staff is so nice, very knowledgeable in each product and promotion going on, plus very attentive to your needs and wants. They're not pushy, but suggest great ideas on how you can get the most out of your money with all their promos going on. Everything is also very organized and clean. Meh! Was disappointed to go to the semi annual sale and only 1 table of very few undesirable holiday items 75% off. No other really good discounts as per the expected sale. Not one person offered assistance or a bag to shop and I noticed lots of the items needed a good dusting. When I asked the sales lady where heck the sale was, she responded with the statement they they are extremely limited this year and urged me to contact corporate. Interesting, but honestly it feels as though there are some significant changes to your shopping experience here. For instance I'm used to getting the candles at $10 or $8 and to pay half of $26 is crazy! I suspect they are not keeping up so well in the current climate of online shopping and other competitors like Lush. I will only return to purchase the men's line that I unfortunately got my hubby hooked on. Hopefully they make some positive changes. read more

I was in the store earlier this morning g when they opened to pick up the item I saw online. When I took those items to register, the cashier told me those prices were just for online. I had to go to my car order the items for store pickup. It's been five hours and my order is not ready and the store closes at 6. So now either they are going to wait until close to closing to complete my order, not giving me time to pick it up, or the products I want are now going to be out. They want to be so nice when you walk in but terrible customer service. Bath & Body Works has become way overpriced for the products the offer in general, but the pushy sales people send me out of the store without a purchase every time they won't let up. I know they put a person by the door to "help" but when they greet me before I fully even walk through the threshold with that over-the-top chipper energy, I forget every time why I came in. Today was probably the worst of it. I was greeted, like this and was honest about it. "Thanks for offering to help but honestly I don't remember what brought me in, I'll look around." This wasn't enough. The sales associate drilled down like she was trying to understand a complex project. Again I told her, thank you, I'll just look around. Then she pushed again. By then I was less polite about it. "Thank you for trying to help but I've got it from here. This conversation happened before I even stepped off the doormat. I really just wanted to smell what is front of me at this point and gather my thoughts and remember what it was I wanted to buy here. The next person came in and the same sales associate approached them with the same enthusiasm but this time she backed off after the first "no thank you, I'm just browsing". So I flat out asked, "what did I do wrong for me to have to say "no thank you, I don't need help three times?" And she told me she was just trying to figure out what I wanted. I get she was trying to be helpful, but it's a freaking soap and candle shop! You're not trying to sell software. I know it wasn't just her. It was the training she got. It's the business model to up sell and be super excited and helpful, but this pushy sales experience literally sent me right back out the door within 5 minutes. I literally couldn't remember what I went in to purchase and I was so annoyed I didn't want to spend any more time or my money there after it. If this exchange hadn't happened, I probably would have bought 2-3 candles, a soap, lotion, and some hand sanitizer. Now that I've had some distance, I remember that was what I went in for when I saw the sale sign. But no, they lost what was probably an $80-$100 sale because the person at the door wouldn't give me the space "settle in and enjoy the experience" and think before I left the doormat. This transition period is pretty important to the in person sales process and this business doesn't recognize it as such. Every location does this... I hate it. I think this is the last time I walk into one of these stores. Their sales approach is just too novice and pushy for me to enjoy the experience. This approach might work on young people. Maybe that's the problem, I need to accept I'm probably not the demographic they are trying to sell to anymore. I'll spend my money somewhere else where when I say "no thank you" I'm not treated as a "no means yes". This approach feels like an extension of American culture that continues to procreate the "no means maybe, and maybe means yes" attitude toward women. read more

This rating is largely for the lying marketing that the company does. Went in well before Christmas and prices were $16.95, 15.95, 5 for $27. Lots of things that were promoted as a discount but we're in fact their everyday prices. Went in just the other day a week before Christmas, prices actually went up to $19.95 in some cases and the five for $27 was still in place. There was no big pricing difference. I don't like stores that either leave their prices the same or raise them only to give a sense of a price discount. Companies that do this are liars and they don't deserve your business. read more

I need to take the moment to give this store its dues! I felt so pleased with coming in during this Covid situation. An employee manned a station at the entrance and ensured no more than 15 people were in the store at a time. There were designated socially distant line markings and prior to entering the store you must wear your mask and utilize hand sanitizers which was provided! At checkout I witnessed the staff wipe down and sanitize the counters and card machines after each customer! Super efficient, friendly, and on point to protect their consumers and employees. Lotions definitely have a smell to which you can find one you'll be sure to like, but they don't have any real hydration to them, but you will smell nice, my wife has started using there stress relief series, live how the eucalyptus mint smells on here mmmmmmm. The employees offer hand sanitizer then wipes it after each person uses it, they have social distance tape, they wipe the counter after each costumer, no employee is caught not wearing a mask and they offer mask to costumers who don't have any. I waited in line for about 45 minutes because it was very busy (because of the sale) but they were efficient and stayed having a positive attitude. Today was my first time there since the re model. It's beautiful inside! I was shocked. A very cute beach theme. I went in with my coupon for a free candle. I was greeted immediately. Which is really nice. One of the ladies helped me find a candle I liked. She was very kind and knowledgable. They have so many choices!! I ended up leaving with a candle I LOVE! It smells so good. And they do have the best candles!! I have one from a year ago that I still use and love! So I highly recommend this place. Terrible customer service at the cash register. The girl had rung up all items and then told me one of them didn't apply to the sale, so I asked her to take off two of the items. She took off the wrong one and I had told her she did. She gave me attitude (told me I was wrong & that she took it off) and proceeded with the transaction. I paid and then took the receipt to the other cashier and she had to return everything and rering it up and I was over charged about $15. Very annoying.
