Walmart parking lot employee accused me of throwing trash on the ground in the loading area. He completely is wrong since there was another person there with a backpack that I think spilled the food. This sparked a strange dialog which revealed that he was thinking of saying something to me and blaming me before I even entered the store. After shopping and exiting the store the trash is still there on the ground (see photo). I have never bought popcorn nor was I eating it lol. Why accuse someone of something they didn't do at the entrance of your store? There are many cameras and witnesses. Why not apologize in the beginning instead of saying/pretending that "you did"......? Are employees here like this? read more

Decent Walmart, in a busy shopping center off the 78. Getting to the store from the 78 can be a challenge, lots of cars and a crazy traffic pattern. Shopping center is right in front of Costco, and has Kohl's, plus tons of restaurants and smaller shops. Be in the watch for people doing crazy stuff, because they aren't paying attention. Larger than the Walmart in Escondido, with a slightly different selection. I have to come here when my location is out of stock on something. But they don't carry some of the food that Escondido does, even though they have a larger selection. Lots of self-checkout stations, although they often close a few down to limit the number of people scanning at one time. I had an issue with a coupon on a product not scanning, and the the employee overseeing the self-check was very helpful. read more

I am so not a Walmart person but sometimes they just have what you're looking for. We were able to find work pants right away! Without much digging! I was impressed. It's going to be your typical Walmart. Busy and full of so many random people. We did not really engage with any employees and used the self check out option. We parked on the side close to the garden supply entrance but walked in through the front. We went through the wrong door. It's kind of confusing because the top said "welcome" but we realized it was wrong door after entering because people were walking out holding their receipts for employee to look at. I was very surprised to see an L&L right when you walk in. I'm used to McDonald's most of the time. We didn't do any other shopping, so I really cannot say much more about this particular Walmart. read more

I've witnessed 3 times in 4 months an employee by the name of ash yell at her employees about insignificant things. This is an awesome walmart full of great people. This is the closest Walmart to my home, so we come to this location the most. I got my wife a tablet for a trip that she was about to go on. She forgot to take it on the trip so I tried to return it. Apparently they have a 30 day return policy on electronics and I was 2 days past. The customer svc rep called over a team lead named Ashley...flat no from her and then she left. Very cold person. She was super callous about the situation. I looked on my receipt and I don't see anything about 30 days for electronics return....as they claimed. I looked front and back, just don't see it. Look at the attachment and tell me if I am missing something thing???? They said I need to reach out to the manufacturer directly now. This has left me disheartened and mad I won't be shopping here anymore! 4/22/2025 Update. Got a phone message from Ashley, wanting to talk about my experience. I called the Walmart location 6 times the following day, trying to reach her. 4 of the calls were to the operator (non-existent) and on 2 of the calls I selected the option for human resources. This did not change my outcome as no one ever picks up the phone. Since then I have tried an additional 4 times, call on different days with the same result...no answer ever! Now I understand why Walmart in San Marcos has a two star rating. I bought a Beautyrest air mattress for $157 before tax during my shopping trip at 10:10 pm. The young man said Walmart doesn't return air mattresses and that there is a sign that says so. I ask for a manager who walks back to the bedding area where I got it from. Sure enough - no sign! They say it's a store policy but they never showed me the policy. The next excuse is it's past 90 days. It's been 120 days. I've been exhausted from working and just now got around to come to the store. It's been sitting unused at my house. I asked for a store credit and the next excuse is $50 is the max they can give. Frustrated, I left with the air mattress that I could have bought at Costco but they were closed when I was shopping for one. Reminder to all and to me: NEVER SHOP AT WALMART! I recently purchased online some skin lotions from Walmart in Poway and did not notice that the products came from China. It took one weeks to arrive and the other never arrived. I reviewed other customers' complaints and discovered that the lotions I purchased were counterfeits. I used the website to chat with AI and then a real person, who immediately reimbursed me for the one which was not delivered. When the other one came, it was clear from the packaging that it was a knockoff so I took it to the Poway satire to return it. The customer service staff was helpful and friendly and understanding and saw to it that I was reimbursed quickly. Such service in both cases will help to keep me as a customer. read more

While was waiting on my medication being filled by the pharmacist at the Civic Center Drive location, I needed to buy some groceries. This is my first visit shopping at the Walmart Supercenter Store in San Marcos, CA. These are the things I really like about this Walmart Supercenter Store location.: 1. The wide aisles. 2. A Great Selection of Name Brand Products sold in their store. 3.. Really helpful and knowledgeable Walmart Sales Associates on the floor helping me to find a specific item like Paper Towels and Paper Plates. 4. Their cashiers are very efficient, and this man cashier greeted me with a warm smile while checking me out. My groceries were scanned and rung by this blonde haired soft spoken guy cashier. 4. Walmart Supercenter Store accepts E.B.T. Debit Card Payments, Cash, Pesonal Checks, and Credit Cards are accepted from Visa, Mastercard and Apple Pay. While one grocery store like WinCo does NOT accept Credit Cards. 5. I talked to a few of their Walmart Supercenter Store customers and these people I had spoken to for a few minutes told me they live in San Marcos and they always have a good shopping experience. There are NO CONS I have found at this Walmart Supercenter Store location at the Civic Center Dr. Location. I received excellent customer service from their sales associates working hard putting their products away on their shelves. 6. UI also talked to Walmart's Store Manager his name is Hector. Hector was very helpful in directing me to the Pharmacy Department since I have never shopped at this location before. In summary, I will come back and do my grocery shopping at this Walmart Supercenter Store when I am in the San Marcos Area. read more

Pros- this Walmart has has a good variety of things, nice employees, they allow you to walk in with your pets, and a great return policy. Cons- I am a person with a physical disability and sometimes can't walk. I needed a motorized shopping cart to sit in so I could shop and the person working at the front entrance said the entire Walmart only has two motorized carts. This Walmart is very big and for them to only have two, which were both being used, is not okay. I had to leave and not shop because I couldn't walk. I would be VERY careful when shopping here. When I was in the dog food and food aisles, I noticed pantry moths flying around all over. This means that they're in the food and you will take them home with you. Once in your home, they will spread to your other food. These bugs are ridiculously hard to get rid of as you have to essentially throw away everything. I have no idea how they will be able to do that on such a large level. I requested to speak to the manager so I can notify them of the problem. After over 30 minutes of waiting, I was told to speak to a man who said he's not the manager and can't help me. He did say he noticed the bugs in the food tho and got returns with the bugs inside, just don't realize what was going on. I found this quite surprising however being how many of these bugs were flying around. read more

Since I was in the area running errands, I decided to come here for a new nozzle for the hose in my garden. It was impossible to just buy the one thing I came in for as there were great deals everywhere! I needed a mascara which happened to be behind glass doors and locked. Another customer and I pressed the button several times for assistance. I waited somewhere between 5 to 10 minutes. Left to get what I came in for from the garden department. Returned to the makeup section about 10 minutes later and the lady was still waiting for someone to come and assist her. At that point I just gave up. Outside of the lack of assistance in the cosmetics area, it was a pretty good store. I went to self checkout as the lines were long. A very nice employee helped me figure out how to pay for fruits and vegetables. Rest of the items were easy to scan. This location isn't close to me but if I happen to be in the area, I'll definitely shop here again. read more

When she approached an employee to ask where she can pick up her photos she ordered, the employee held a pointy finger up to basically "sush" my wife, went on the phone, and then started talking to a fellow peer employee laughing and having a separate conversation. SAW A RAT THREE SEPARATE TIMES. I don't usually go to Walmart but I was nearby so I stopped by to get a couple of things. I don't know if it's always like this but there were boxes and unboxed merchandise all over the floor and halls. I went to get some crackers (don't know which isle #) and I saw a HUGE RAT run across the hall! Then a few minutes later another and a few other minutes later another! I am unsure if it's the same rat or different. I tried to take a video but wasn't able to catch any. The hall next door was the chip isle and there was a bag of chips on the floor which I'm pretty sure the rat(s) were eating (picture below). I notified two different staff members but they didn't seem to care and weren't even surprised! One of them looked like a manager or higher up since his uniform was different from the regular floor associates. I've been buying ammunition, food and camping supplies from this specific Walmart for many years as well as a 60" smart TV from a sister store just last week. The woman that usually assisted behind the ammunition counter was always very friendly and knowledgeable about the products they were carrying and when combined with their great prices, made buying ammunition a positive experience for my hobby. It made me sad today to see that Walmart has taken an anti-gun stance when they opted to stop selling handgun and some rifle ammunition as well as prohibiting open carry in states where legal. It seems to me that this was a knee-jerk reaction to satisfy particular opinions even though it will do nothing to change the real problem at hand. Walmart has Ripped me off! I ordered several Cup o Soup Stir-fry Ramens. 12 ea. of their Teriyaki Chicken, Teriyaki Beef, and Sweet Chili. Also 16 ea. of the Korean BBQs. ...(stocking up for Armageddon). ...anyway, ...I chose the order to be shipped due to the high QTY's, instead of store delivery. So, ...a guy show's up and drops a bag of them on my doorstep. Maybe 6 were in the bag. Then later that day another bag with a larger qty was left at my door. ...another partial. ... I waited, thinking the rest would be delivered by Fed-x or UPS, after 10 days, no more came and I got an email saying the order was complete??? The original order came to $44.49. I also noticed they changed the qty from 16 to 12 for the Korean BBQ's which I had only received 6 of. The Teriyaki chicken I got 12 of but the other flavors only maybe 6 ea of. After getting the run around from their online customer care guy, they told me to call the store. Why did I waste all the time and effort with 6 emails???? Anyway I checked my bank and saw they charged me the full price of the order!!! I tried the number the online support dude gave me. Of course it was the wrong store. ...so I asked the customer support for the number of the correct store, ....of no answer!!! I Tried twice!!! That is why I'm yelping them. UPDATE They are just pissing on my head and telling me it's raining. I just contacted the rep again who I was emailing with to let him know that I posted my experiences (plural) on my facebook page, Walmarts page and I posted a Review on Yelp! When I do go to Walmart this is not the one I usually go to, but I have had to stop into this Walmart a few times over the years because they had something (allegedly) in stock I wanted/needed. The parking lot is a mess, both the parking area configuration and the ingress/egress onto the property. I had the misfortune of needing a prescription filled and my usual pharmacies were closed. I had never purchased at a Walmart pharmacy and this Walmart was nearby, so I gave it a shot. Being a "new" customer I had to get logged into their system, which was a slight pain in the ass. It probably would have been quicker had the phone not been ringing off the hook incessantly, with people panicking over their "need" to find covid tests (they were out of stock) while the clerk was trying to work with me. That 10 minutes was tiring to me, so I could only imagine how the poor clerk was dealing with that issue (telling me it was all day, non-stop). Anyhow, I digress. I was told it would take about 45 minutes. WTFever. I just plopped my butt down in a chair in the pharmacy section and waited. I soon discovered that not only do they NOT have an electronic board to flash your name when your script was ready, but they don't bother calling out your name either. I succumbed to sitting there, twiddling my thumbs, and people watched to kill time. And Walmart did not disappoint in the "people watching" category, needless to say. It was actually quite entertaining. After 40 minutes I stood back in line (yes, there was a never ending line at the pharmacy counter) and by the time I got up there my 45 minute ready time had expired. I expected to be told it was not ready, as many others before me had been told. I was "pleasantly" surprised it was. I paid and got the heck out of there. I hope I never have to utilize this Walmart pharmacy again. But, if I do, at least I know what to expect. read more

*The condition of the fish is so bad it's probably criminal, I brought this to their attention multiple times with promises they would fix it, and promise after promise is broken. They refuse to feed or care for their fish, they are all starving and dying, dead fish floating up top, skeletons remain at the bottom, sides of the tank are algae covered it's an abomination and it needs to stop. Edit: last time I was here the fish situation was vastly improved, the dead fish were removed from the tank and the tanks had been cleaned, as long as they take care of their fish, I have no major complaints. read more

I debated whether to let this pass or post, but since it happened a few days ago and it's still on my mind I thought may as well. Does upper management even bother to read reviews? Maybe there is no upper management there? Anyway, I was in the laundry detergent aisle and overheard an elderly gentleman kindly start asking one of the employees a question and she abruptly turned around, cut him off and said "I'M ON MY BREAK..I CAN'T HELP YOU!!!" When he tried to say something further, she repeated her loud response, again in the same loud, rude voice. I was shocked. Who does that??!! So you're on your break...why don't you remove your official blue vest and walk away from the shelves so customers don't mistake you for a "helpful" employee? Or stay in the break lounge to remove all doubt? I couldn't take the rudeness so I went over to the poor gentleman and said "I'll help you! What do you need?" (I could swear I caught the employee glaring at me as I passed her. Shame on you! Perhaps working with the public isn't your calling. But there is no excuse for treating anyone the way you did! Surprisingly the gentleman didn't even act offended as we left her to finish her break. The experience hasn't soured me on this Walmart thus the generous 3 star rating) because the one closer to my neighborhood is even worse. Oh well. read more

This review is for their Walmart Spark service as a driver picking up at this location. No sense of urgency with curbside pickup, even when I am paid to wait around for 20 minutes (they are losing to Amazon). When someone comes out they usually aren't very friendly. The biggest issue is they will give me a delivery that should have been sent to the Encinitas location for example. The customer will be literally a few miles from that location. The parking lot situation and getting into the center is absolutely horrible as well. read more

We went to the electronic section and ron relies on himself only for the key to open inventory, the other co workers arent doing anything and they direct us to only ron because he only has the key. Point is ron is making everyone wait on him when the coworkers are just standing around when they can be standing around. Had to leave to other walmart standing 49 minutes. The place is big but the employees aren't very helpful, each would give you a misleading direction until you asked for a manager or supervisor. I came in to look for some funko pops and collectibles usually located by the electronic department or toys section, none were found, so I came and asked the lady at electronic, she then told me to go up front to the register because that is where she believed those items were moved to; when I came up front, the cashier did not know what is a funko pop, unbelievable right? She then proceeded to kept checking people out because she had a line, but refused to radio someone for me, all she did was pushing a button on her register machine, and she explained it would send a text to her management, right..., I decided to walk further to another employee upfront, demanding for a supervisor, she seems nervous and offered to help me find the item instead, she used her device and told me it located at electronics, I told her I already went there, at this point I gave up, the place might be big but they're not organized or well trained their employees, half of the shelves are pretty much empty without any restocks for months I heard, sad read more

Store 3494, assistant manager Audrey. I have never seen a store reluctant to stand behind the products they sell. I was stuck on an off ramp on I 15 today when the battery in my Harley died. A friend of mine went to this Walmart and bought me a new one. My bike wouldn't start. We tired for two hours to find the problem. I then had it towed to my friends home. We hooked up the battery to a tender to find it was at 0%. Off of the shelf. Walmart refunded my money, now I have a two hundred dollar towing bill because they sold a defective product. I spoke to the assistant manager Audrey and was told that my towing bill is not there problem. They sell a lot of products and sometimes some are faulty and that is not there fault. If I had put that bike in and been on a backroad and my engine had died it's possible I would have been in an accident. But that would not have been there fault. Customer service and Walmart are two words that SHOULD go together. Not my problem should NOT be in a managers vocabulary when it is regarding a product in their store. read more
